Aira Harune, a clumsy yet happy-go-lucky girl, is suddenly dragged into the popular world of Prism Shows—an idol show based on figure skating, where performers called "Prism Stars" wear outfits encased in Prism Stones and perform stylistic Prism Jumps. Captivated by the dazzling fashion and gorgeous Prism Jumps, Aira decides to become a Prism Star herself. She soon encounters the hot-headed Rizumu "Rhythm" Amamiya, who desires to perform the legendary Prism Jump “Aurora Rising”; as well as the prideful Mion Takamine, who dreams of becoming the brightest Prism Star above the rest. The journey of these girls is marked by friendship, growth, and unexpected encounters. Can they perform Prism Jumps high enough to reach their dreams and become the next Prism Queens? This is a cute anime. I like this anime because it include fashion, dances, singing and a bit of love. The main character are three girls who aim to be 'Prism Queen'. Prism Queen is the highest level among all 'Prism Show'. The three girls perform prism show and met many rivals along the way of becoming prism queen. Apart from rivals, they made a lot of friend. The path of becoming prism queen is very hard, but they made it there!
Story: 6/10 The story is not original. Period. But if you are the type of person who likes shoujo/slice of life/ cute girls/ fulfilling dream anime, watch this one. The story progressively gets better, a bit boring at first, but after....oops almost gave something away. Just trust me when I say it gets better. Art: 9/10 The art was pretty good (I have high stardards, if I don't like the art, I don't watch it). They could have worked on the 3-D part a bit more though. Sound: 9/10 I would've given the music/sound a 10/10, but the beginning music was too repetitive. In fact, the beginning episodes in generalwas repetitive. The background music, their show music, is all incredible though. Character: 7//10 I've met many characters like the main characters in this story in other anime/mangas, but that didn't stop me from loving them. Some of the supporting characters, like Kaname and Rhythm's mother, make the story more interesting for me. Enjoyment: 9.5/10 Again, I would have given this full points if it weren't for the repetitive-ness of the beginning episodes. Other than that, it was thoroughly enjoyable. I had my eyes flued to the screen for the last few episodes. Overall: 8/10 I like it. It may not be original, but at least it kept me wanting more, and I enjoyed it. And that's all that matters. Remember, this is just my own opinion. You are completely entitled to your own and don't have to agree with me.
I love this series! It's a great one and it's pretty underrated. Pretty Rhythm has three seasons overall; Aurora Dream, Dear My Future, and Rainbow Live. But as this is Aurora Dream so I'll review it. First of all the plot here is amazing. If you have an extremely soft heart you can even cry, just like I did. This is the only series so far which made me shed alot of tears. While a few others only made me emotional to a high level but never made me cry. Harune Aira is your protagonist, she's a klutz and clumsy and isn't good with sports either. Buther fashion sense is awesome. She's my favourite character. Amamiya Rizumu is also pretty likable but her actions can get frustrating sometimes. She loves to eat meat and is great at dancing and is a love expert. Takamine Mion is lovable and unique in her own style. She'll start as an annoying brat at the start of series but warms up to Aira and Rizumu. Her singing is beautiful. The art wasn't good at the start of series but it got better later on. The CG used here is among the best I've seen. All the songs here are likable. But the first opening song gets old cos of being used in every episode. Later it is used less and less to clear up the mess. There are Prism Stars, special sports idols who aim to become the grand Prism Queen. Of course-- in all cases romance is forbidden for them but they still have love interests. Aira has Shou. Rizumu has Hibiki. And Mion's love interest is a bit complicated. Mion is first shown to love Jun and has a playful friendship with Wataru. But her crush moves from Jun to Wataru as the series progresses. Shou, Hibiki, and Wataru are in a unit together called Callings. Aira, Rizumu, and Mion also form a group together called MARs taken from the first letters of their respective names and an extra 's' for a reason I don't remember. But wait I'm spoiling the series for you. Overall I'm rating this a 10/10.
This is an interesting anime. Having started in the 2011 anime season which was filled with some fine shonen, I was amazed to see a show that was able to break me from that and also to give me something that wasn't an action show but still interesting to watch. Prism Shows are the main focus of this anime and the inclusion of them in each episode finishes off each mini story (besides bigger story arcs) very nicely. The most interesting part for me has to be the development of the story and sometimes it was obvious to see what would happen, but even ifit was, watching it unfold is quite the ride inside towards the end of the series and everything comes together for a great series overall.
This anime is the kind of anime you have to go through so that you enjoy it. Firstly let's talk about the art. It's okay. Its 3D is better than Aikatsu's at its beginning, Kirari's, Sailor Moon Crystal's transformation's and so on. The 2D is not that great, but it is fair. The music is great! The OST is kind of boring, but the songs and the openings (especially the second) are interesting! The characters seem really show at the beginning of the anime. But as you discover them, you see that they're deep. Not especially original or complex, but they are definitely not clichés. The story isharder to criticise. Precisely, the beginning is just awful. It is probably the worst beginning I've watched, seens, listened or read. You just can't understand what's going on. But the story gets better, and the end is far from being good. It's brillant. I won't explain why, but the end of the anime is just excellent. And somehow, I loved Prism shows. I don't know why. They aren't that great. But the anime makes you understand that they are more than show, that it is a reflect of your soul. It may not affect you at all. But, for my part, I've just felt amazed and affected. I know it is not that good. But somehow, I love it. This is why my overall grade is 7/10. I guess that it truly deserves 5/10. But I can't give that. Because it truly resonates with my soul.
