Jealous of Suneo's new robot toy, Nobita asks Doraemon to build him an even better one. Doraemon initially refuses, until Nobita accidentally discovers pieces of a mysterious robot that falls from the sky. After gathering all the robot parts and assembled them together, the giant robot, Zanda Claus, is soon completed. The duo soon learn that the robot is not a mere toy, but a powerful weapon in the fight against the coming Robot Army that is going to attack Earth and enslave the human inhabitants of it. An invasion is near, as a mysterious girl Riruru (リルル, Alternative spelling: Lilulu, Lillele [Doko Demo Doa Scanlations]) shows up, looking for the robot. (Source: Wikipedia)

This movie was in my opinion the best doraemon movie by far. There is pretty much nothing Bad I can say about this movie. This movie has great characters, a pretty good antagonist, good comedy and the soundtracks as well as the animation are on another level. One thing that makes this movie special is that no matter how many times you watch it doesn't get old. There is always something in the movie that you love and the ending is emotional, it pulls you in right from start and the new characters that introduced in the movie are probably the best doraemon side characters ever.In my opinion this is peak doraemon and the series may never reach this level of quality again when it comes to movies and This movie is without a doubt, worth your time and I can't recommend it enough.
This is how you do a movie remake properly. It not only improved the original version of the film, but added onto it and made it better. This is not just a new coat of paint for the original, although the new artwork is absolutely stunning, it's telling the story the way it should have been told to begin with. The characters who stole the show the most in this movie were Riruru and Shizuka. You will see Shizuka's kindness tested to it's absolute limit, and Riruru questioning her beliefs and purpose. It is surprisingly deep material for a Doraemon movie, especially near the end whichI will not spoil for you. Unlike other Doraemon movies, this one has a more serious tone. The bad future always seems like an immediate threat, which makes for an action-packed movie. There are still some moments of levity despite this, to keep the film from getting depressing. Overall, I would say to check it out. It is among the best Doraemon movies, and it's heartwarming story shows us why Doraemon ended up being such a beloved character in our culture.
This is Peak Doraemon and probably will always be. Despite being made for kids, this movie is actually quite good and better than your average kids movie. There aren't any major plot holes and everything makes sense while being somewhat complex at the same time. This is also a remake of the older version of steel troops and this remake made it way better.I liked the old one but with it's really good animation, voice acting and overall enjoyment this remake elevates the old movie story line to a whole new level. In the past they have remade older movies and improved on them but this remake is just on another level compared to the others. The actual steel troops story is honestly the best out of all doraemon movies as well. If you are a doraemon fan I recommend this.
When people say it's the best Doraemon movie so far its not an understatement. The vibe the asthetics everything is just so magnificent. It's Evangelion for grade schoolers. The lore is so perfect it draws you in and with it's likable ensemble of characters there's nothing to complain. The music is good and the when the insert song rolls, it's one of the most emotional moment. It's a remake of a classic 1986 movie but unlike most other cases the remake is actually quite better than the original. If you are 16-17+ it's not this movie will force you to think too deeply or stuffbut the nostalgia of childhood mixed with the plot is enough to make a man's heart cry.

As I didn't see any other reviews drawing the parallels, I'll try to point it out: This is a well-written Doctor Who story in the disguise of a kid's anime. Rights, I don't mean literally a Doctor Who story. There are significant differences. As Doraemon's target audience would be kids primarily, there is less made-up-but-fun pseudo-science. The plot is pushed by miraculous tools from the future whose mechanisms are not explained. And the treatment of time travel isn't the most satisfying: after changing a moment in the past, the effect is only a momentary miracle in the present where the alien robots disappear, leaving the states ofaffairs up to that point unchanged. A more satisfying one, for me, would be for the whole story to 'not have happened', and with the group looking nostalgically at an angel they couldn't have known flying past. But, those are but details. The reason I compare this to Doctor Who stories is simply that they build a fantastic world in the same way and have the characters adventure in them in almost the same manner. Like a few good Doctor Who stories, the intro to the adventures are very casual, and the story just unfolds into something grand as it continues. Then, there are some nice thought experiments. In this case, robots worshiping a God and believing that the world is theirs to rule over, and some other robot politics. Granted, they are too quickly glossed over to be seen as the main theme, but still a nice thing to have. In fact, it's nice to have them just pointed out but not overtly emphasised, so that we get to think about them while not feeling as if being lectured on some cliched 'life lessons'. Finally, the story ends happily, quite an important factor for me for such adventure stories. I'm not sure the above is enough to compel you to watch this kid's animated movie. Just some concluding remarks that I may or may not have justified: it's more engaging than the old Doctor Who, with cool animation and some great action; it's more wholesome than the new Doctor Who, with no (honestly quite unentertaining for me) cheeky romantic subplots and no condescending political-correctness lecturing.
This anime series is very popular in Asia especially in India everyone knows about this anime even though they don't know about anime i remeber watching this movies 3-4years back it was good for me back then but i had watched this movie again recently and i can say, from story to music, from character design to character themselve, the writer's had put a good effort and animation is very good i had watch almost every doraemon movie but i'll only some special one to my list XD. I'll say please give it a try, especially if you study science. .The ending is really satisfying and sadat the same one of the best doraemon movie ending.
