After the final battle against Gaito, Sara had given her life to remain with him. The sea world is now at peace, but only with six mermaid princesses.
While Caren, Noel, and Coco have returned to their kingdoms, it should be time for Lucia, Hanon, and Rina to do the same. After all, Mitsuki Tarou is leaving for Germany, and Doumoto Kaito is heading to Hawaii. Lucia is devestated, and when things couldn't get any worse, Kaito is lost at sea! Worst of all, a strange angel named Michel has appeared, wanting the mermaids to join him. But on the lighter side, Sara's spirit tells Lucia of Sara's successor, a young mermaid named Seira. The mermaids are in for another adventure!

Really loved it :). Better than the first season. Pros are that we are introduced to a hottie (Masahiro) and a cuttie (Nagisa). The mermaids songs still touches my heart and I will remember them. I really like the art, music and characters but I find the story too repetitive. And I hate Mikaru and Fuku!! They are so annoying!!

Started: 8/4/17 Finished: 8/26/17 Mermaid Melody Pichi Pichi Pure is the second series following Mermaid Melody Pichi Pichi Pitch. The other half of this super kawaii franchise was grown up, darker and very entertaining to watch. The 1st half left me SHOOK, as I thought all along the show would be childish and a waste of time, but I was wrong. I LOVE this show, I did not want it to end. Story: As I previously stated, the story is WAY more mature than it's predecessor. Luchia shows growth and control in dealing with her relationship with Kaito, and her two bffs Hanon and Rina alsohave love interests. In addition, we get great episodes with stories that still tie into the main plot.
Characters: You know how in the first series we didn't see much of the other mermaids? Well, you're in for a treat. Coco, Caren and Noelle all make respectable appearances and we get to know each of them a little bit better. We also get new villains and supporting characters (some being rather attractive) and of course familiar faces return.
Art: The artwork was the same as the first series. If you've read my review on the first half, you will recall how I noted that the animation is reminiscent of early 2000s anime and if the dub had been released in the U.S., it would've been on Cartoon Network or 4Kids TV or Kids WB (IMO).
Sound: The songs were BEAUTIFUL. I especially enjoyed the opening, "Before the Moment." I felt like the theme song fit the tone of the story perfectly; it was pretty and mysterious at the same time. (SN: my personal favorite song of this franchise is "Sekai de ichiban Hayaku Asa ga kuru basho.")
Entertainment: Unlike the first series, the music takes second place to the story line when it comes to what draws the viewer in. The troubles each character faces and fighting a new enemy is enough to make you binge 12 episodes in one day (yes, yes I did that...that's how I finished the show, actually...).
Overall, I give this show a solid 9 because it certainly earned it.
I do plan to read the manga because I'm not 100% satisfied with the ending and I will give my review on that.

Well... this sequel of mermaid melody, And its obvious... So lets start. Story, enjoyment. I put an 8 becouse this story is much better than the first season. More action and less filler episodes, and this is why this season is more enjoyable. Art. Art isnt so good. Big eyes, lot of colours and the same animated secuences when Luchia Rina and Hanon sings. Animation is really lame. Sometimes is really hard to see mouths moving when someone is talking. And when enemies and mermaids sing is really awful, same secuences as wee saw on first part Character. Some enemies are new (except black beauty sisters). Most ofnew characters are enemy ones but really we don't have good development on them. While the main villian, Michel know his goals, all his minnions have no personality and they ony obey him just because. About the good ones... well, basically they found interest lovers for 2 of the 3 main protagonist. The green haired with the green princess and the blue haired with the Blue princess (or aquamarine). Lame.
Sound. This anime has a lot of music. The mermaids and so the enemies have their own song. The opening is the best of all mermaid melody openings and Seira song is the best song of all mermaids and Yami no baroque is the best song of the enemies. This song is of the Black beauty sisters.

Despite being a sequel, Mermaid Melody Pichi Pichi Pitch Pure was the first anime I watched. Although being targeted for children, the series has been one that I've come back to for some enjoyment and nostalgia. Story: The plot follows the three heroines after their battle with Gaito. While they prepare to resume their duties as mermaid princesses, Hanon and Rina face new troubles with possible love interests. Then, tragedy occurs when Kaito is lost at sea, and Luchia finds herself dreaming of a winged humanoid and a young Orange mermaid named Seira, whom she has been bound to rescue. On top of that,Luchia must deal with a new love rival, a lonely girl called Mikaru. As a new conflict unfolds, Luchia and the mermaids find themselves fighting for love and friendship once again.
The story jumps around from each of the three heroines, giving us insight to their own issues and experiences in love. While the other four mermaids show up in some episodes, they are mostly for the sake of filler and for messing with Hanon and Rina's love lives.
While old themes of love and friendship are present in this season as they were the first, a few new themes such as loneliness, forgotten love, and heartbreak are touched on. This second half is a bit more depressing, but I liked the darker turn it took. An interesting theme was brought into the story by the rivalry between Luchia and Mikaru, one that showed the difficulties of making decisions which, in the end, hurt other people.
I give the story a 7 because it was good and interesting enough to stand on its own but was also a great continuation of the 1st season. I feel like Pure was essential to the story and not just an unneeded extension.
Art: I'd give it a 6. The character designs and bright colors were great but there was still the low animation quality. It's not all bad and far from the worst, but there are several points (besides reusing transformation sequences) when the animation just seems sloppy. Large eyes, weird movement sequences (like characters walking), inconsistencies regarding hair length, and the way the characters were drawn in some shots were just awkward-looking. The animation was good when there was a more serious or romantic moment, but a lot of the time it was lacking.
Sound: Personally I enjoyed the music in Pure more so than the 1st season, mostly because of the songs done by new voices added to the casts, specifically Mikaru and Seira's. The new villain's songs ranged from bubbly and catchy to extremely annoying. I give music a 7. Voice acting was OK, and I really liked that they gave Luchia a deeper voice than just giving her the usual squeaky, high-pitched voice most shojo heroines get. Her voice really suited her and I enjoyed her songs more than those of Hanon or Rina.
Character: 7. With a 2nd season comes new characters, both good and bad. The new villains are truly as original as they are weird. New love interests were intriguing and attractive in their own ways and the young mermaid Seira brought a touch of child-like innocence to the casts. Character development really only showed in the major villains and Hanon and Rina, who both go through unexpected changes in their experiences with love. Luchia does a lot of moping, for good reason, although it gets really repetitive. There is a lot more character angst, especially involving Kaito and Luchia. I can't say I enjoyed every character. They sort of grew on me over time, but the one who stuck with me was Mikaru. While probably the most hated character in the series, she was my favorite. I thought she brought a bit of reality into the magical girl, generic love wins all, kind of plot. Through the character Mikaru, the story touches on topics like loneliness, illness, heartbreak, and ultimately, unrequited love, which are all qualities that made Pure more memorable and relatable to me.
Enjoyment: 8. Although the show was childish and cheesy at times, it could be humorous as well. The romance portion was cute enough, but a major part of enjoyment came from the the close friendship the girls had with each other. Their personalities clashed, and other times, they had to lift each other up. There was always a sense of belonging and content among the group of mermaids that made up for the often unnecessary boyfriend drama. There is just enough drama, romance, and friendship to keep every episode interesting. Even the filler episodes, where the mermaids simply enjoyed living normal human lives, were enjoyable and funny. The actual story was a bit darker towards the end, but this made it more worth while and the final battle seemed more effective. One thing I enjoyed more in the anime than the manga was getting to see more of Mikaru's story, and more scenes with her towards the beginning when she was happy.
Overall: 7, because the show is enjoyable and lighthearted while leaving an impact on the viewer. Pure is a decent story and perfect for the targeted audience.

Mermaid Mleody Pure. The sequel to Pitchi Pitchi Pitch. Honestly I wasn't keen on watching ths sequel because I expected a ton of angst. This, however, was actually better than what I expected. Story: 9/10. The story picks up from the prequel where Kaito has to leave Luchia behind to figure out himself more. Many things simuntaneously happen, so we get to see many subplots here and there. The story is quite intersting, however, I'm a bit disappointed that it seemed to drag at the start. Art: 10/10. The art hasn't changed at all. Everything is consistent and well made, and as usual there's little to noanimation mistakes.
Sound: 8/10. Some of the songs really rocked, especially the villains's songs. I'd minus a point for rushing the amount of songs that the main trio gets, their second one was very underplayed.
Character: 6/10. The villains are really bland. Besides the fact that their aesethic differs, there's no exact fun thing to learn about them. On a better note, the new love interests are very amazing :).
Enjoyment: 8/10. This anime was actually quite fun. It wasn't entirely filler, nor was it filled to the brim with angst. It was quite a decent watch
Overall: 8/10. I like the prequel just as much as this one, however, Pure is much better in terms of story imo.

I want to punch Kaito so bad. I wish Lucia never get back with him. I also hate the way Lucia always sabotaging herself like gurl get a life without Kaito for once please i beg you! Mikaru? I wish somebody would slap or punch her for once. She’s beyond unbearable. The way she clung onto Kaito is just not it and Kaito couldn’t even do anything about it like come on you’re a man!! He could hurt Lucia but when it comes to Mikaru, he couldn’t even fight Mikeru even tho he’s supposed to protect Lucia. He left her to fight Mikeru without himbut the second Rihito wants to fight Mikeru to save Mikaru he joins him??? I know that Kaito lost his memories is something that inevitable but how Kaito deals with the whole situation is entirely his own doing. Everything about Kaito and Mikaru makes me want to punch them on their faces with a chair. Both Rina and Hanon got a really good man, why did Lucia still ends up with him??-_-
