It may just be a music video to anyone oblivious to Another. But, as a fan or the show, i really came to appreciate this little added gem. It conveys the very intimate plight of Mei through a beautiful composition of lyrics that represent the progression of the real show's plot through her POV. The art, sound and character design perfectly reflects elements of the show, and despite it being only 4 minutes long: it does further extend your understanding of Mei, on a personal note. In music-specialized terms... The song is very emotive, soft... Her voice is like silk - and the whole production feelsvery heartfelt. In terms of genre? Japanese: Easy Listening, Balad, Romance. ----- HERE IS THE LINK ----- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9DxGbHzRdnE (English Captions Subbed)
Overall I really liked the relaxing video and enjoyed the sad, heart touching music as memories of the anime unfolded as still frames in my mind, prompted by the changing of backgrounds and clothes of Misaki. Enjoyment I did enjoy the video, and it was entertaining, very heart touching, but a little slow. Art I'll start with the art because I gave it the lowest score. The art style was very adorable, and drew Misaki Mei is a much cuter light than her normally serious self but was not anything special or impressive.Story I really liked how the story of the video progressed in the same was as the anime. The clothes that Misaki Mei wore were related to how the episodes passed in the anime. I thought it was a clever way of playing the song lyrics to the changing of the character Misaki Mei. Sound The music itself was very smooth and relaxing, which is a nice change from the high intensity of the anime. The lyrics on the other hand were very sad and seemed so lonely. The final lyrics were very heart warming especially because they were paired with the final scene from the anime where Misaki and Sakakibara walk down the hill together. Character I really like how the video followed the character of Misaki Mei, drawing her very cute, and following her as she was in the anime, at least clothes wise.
It's become an addictive habit for me to write down a few paragraphs to sort of clear out all the thoughts I had clouding my head, so no matter how vague or short something is, it's still worth the analytic effort, and as it's been known since God knows how long, an image is worth a thousand words, and with animation, you get at least 24 images (frames) a second, that's a lot of words, add to that the vocals and you've got yourself a book to write. But should you really? That's part of why I'm doing this, so you don't have to. “Another: MisakiMei - Shizukani” is a short (4 minutes) music video that goes on a slide of cute chibi drawings of Mei accompanied with a soft and delicate angelic voice singing a lullaby that tingles your heart. We all know, the parent series ended with questionable sacrifices that left us with grieve at some point. But this one was totally different from the classic offering you'd get from a dark series such as Another. I could go on a lengthy essay on why I enjoyed this musical and why I think it has deep symbolism into it, but I really don't want to go all out for such a short animation and end up overdoing it. And let's keep it simple, nobody would want to read a full scroll on why you should or shouldn't watch a 4 minutes music video. - Sound (8.5/10): The song was really good, something differently worthy of making it into my Otaku music collection, it's so relaxing and sweet it had me click the replay button right off the bat, and that's something very obscure to me I could have nearly googled how to replay the video (r/thathappened), not really, I just was trying to put in perspective how good the song really is. - Art (8.5/10): You're not getting something phenomenal here, it's all about the music really. The best there is are still images of Chibi Mei doing quite poses layered on top of various background indicating a sequential order of episodes? (There were a class and a beach!). Again, I'm not really complaining, at least it's not some stupid CGI models screaming in pain (looking at you Overload 3 ~gaze~). - Enjoyment (9/10): It was really fun and wholesome, for me at least. I appreciate good music and vocal quality and I felt like home with “Another: Misaki Mei - Shizukani”. It seriously didn't take more than seconds in when I told myself, I could be in wonderland the next 4 minutes until it flew like a lightning bolt. Thank God the replay button is a thing. - Overall (8.5/10): In general, it doesn't have to be about the fans of the series that are queen on consuming anything related. All it takes is being a music enthusiast and you are in a great vocal ride for a few minutes.
Duly note that is an AMW and without any doubt is for the fans of Another the main anime but you can also as one, who have not seen Another, still somewhat enjoy this one(to a lesser extent) becacue the music in this is sssssoooo good ^^ It is a really hearthwarming and relaxing video and song which are wellwritten og wellsung. The animation isnt really worth mentioning, it is just some chibipicture of Misaki Mei, but they are still quite cute. But yeah it is made for the fans ^^ and it is especially good to get reminded of the different scenes in the anotheranime
Whelp, if you found yourself here, pat yourself on the back! You're a hardcore Another fan. I've been a fan for years, and finding this on MAL was odd for me because I really didn't know it existed. Considering how into Another I am, I was taken aback. Of course, I watched it immediately. The story was... alright. It seemed like a much more cutsier version of Mei's feelings, but I appreciated the light-heartedness in juxtaposition to the dark tone of the series. The art, while cute, was nothing impressive. I'm not a big fan of chibi (unless we're going full-on Gakuen Babysitters) so it'sprobably why I wasn't particularly entranced by it. The sound was amazing. The song was catchy and relaxing, and the singer did a great job with it While cheesy, the song still kinda stayed true to Mei's character, which was nice. Overall, I enjoyed this a lot! I would recommend this if you: liked Another, your fave character is Misaki Mei, you like soft music, you like chibis, you have an extra 4 minutes I would NOT recommend this if you: don't like light, happy things, you didn't like Another Have a great day everyone!
Before the review, I would like to say that I am not fluent in English, so I translated my text by Google Translator, sorry if there is a mistake. I can't explain, the music is so relaxing and pleasant to hear. Definitely i Listen this music to stay calm. But not only that, for a song to be good, must have a good singer, and the woman who sings is simply sensational, it seems that I feel that she spends her feelings while singing. And the good thing is that not only the fãns of Another can hear, since it is just one piece of music, contains no spoilers or something of the kind.
What can I say about this video? It seems nice, cute, and beautiful. Story: Well, that is about a girl, Misaki being an example, wanting to be with one person she prefers to be with, so, I think it's understanding, so, that's 8. Art: It's really adorable! I love the chibi style of it! And I am sure that I am a fan of cute stuff, so I go for 10. Sound: It is beautiful enough, and I do like the voice of it too, so, I do like some niceness in here, so it's 9.Character: While the only character is Misaki, she does seem to be pretty reasonable here, and if you already watched Another, you're probably familiar with why. So, 9. Enjoyment: Well, as usual, I don't pay much attention to it because I have a few stuff to do, but, I am pretty happy with how almost everything is, so, 7.
It's a four minute AMV so I'll just keep this brief, and I'm only judging the art, music and the story/character as one. Story/Character: I do enjoy how this adds more to Misaki's character somewhat, watching this after completing Another, and it doesn't do a canon break (as far as I can see) like a lot of these do. 6.5/10, rounding to a 7. Sound/Music: I really like how relaxing and calming this song was, and how it did somewhat gel with Misaki and her character, as well as what was on screen at the time. I'm going to give this an 8/10 because I personally reallyliked it and think it suited her very well as a character. Art: The art-style was cute and consistent, but as all chibis are, very simplistic in nature. 6/10 for art. Overall: I'm going to give this a 6, it may not be a proper average of my scores, but all in all, I believe a 6 is a fair rating. I'd definitely recommend this, it does not exactly add much, but it does not subtract anything, and is a nice, zen song to listen to and just relax to with cute visuals and zone out as you tie it all back to Misaki's character. <3
