Led by Kakashi Hatake, Naruto Uzumaki, Sakura Haruno, and Rock Lee are tasked to escort the extravagant Prince Michiru Tsuki and his spoiled son Hikaru to the prosperous Land of Moon when the two return from a long trip around the world. As if guarding two whimsical high-ranked individuals was not challenging enough, the prince's reckless decision to acquire an entire circus during their journey—mainly to entertain Hikaru's wish of owning the saber-toothed tiger featured in the show—further propels the mission into disarray. Just as things are finally settling down, the arrival of Michiru's convoy at the Land of Moon is met with an unforeseen crisis—the greedy Chief Minister Shabadaba has taken over the country with the assistance of mysterious, powerful ninjas. While Kakashi's team relentlessly fights the enemy by any means necessary, the two princes are forced to confront a new outlook on life through adversity. [Written by MAL Rewrite]

STORY: 1 One shouldn't expect eye-opening narrative or intricate writing when faced with a vile creature that is the shounen filler movie, and yet...It still somehow manages to upset this barely tangible notion of "expectation". The "story" (if you can call a sequence of random, incoherent, completely disconnected events that) itself was even worse than the rest of these sub-par, money-milking, uninspired Naruto movies. I had more fun in the rectal exam room than watching this abomination take on it's convulsed shape. The first 40 minutes felt like a REALLY long intro for the paltry five minute fight scene. Second half onwards, by means of exploringthe geopolitical implications of antagonizing Siberian tigers in a holistically constructed narrative, earth-shattering discourse is brought to the table. In a sense of "why is it here?" Sorry, I just feel like the tiger played an essential role in this post-modern tragicomedy and should not be taken lightly. (EDIT: Six years later the Siberian tiger still haunts my dreams on a nightly basis) On a more serious note (naruto movies are serious business) - The ending and the upcoming "plot twists" could be seen from a mile away. (Literally, you could actually predict the plot while being a mile away from your screen. Yup.) Well to tell you the truth the story was below yu-gi-oh! story telling standards. That's really as low as you can go. (EDIT: 6 years later - Unfortunately, that wasn't "as low as you can go") ANIMATION: 7 Nothing out of the ordinary here. (Except for a shit-load of cash poured into multiple underwhelming five minute fights ridden with awful choreography). The overall quality was pretty high though, except I disliked the art style itself a bit. It seemed to lack consistency compared to the adapted canon material. The CG wasn't out of place nor overused. Nothing to write home about, but nothing to complain about either. SOUND: 6 Sound was...average. Generally, Naruto tends to shine in the sound department.I won't go as far as to say I hated it, I simply didn't notice the sound at all. Not in the way that it seamlessly blends in with the environment, but in the way of simply not being there. It should inspire life to the bleak wasteland of abhorrent writing, just like during the original series. Though several musical scores were taken from the TV series, that's why it manages to score a 6. CHARACTER: 1 Characters while trying to take themselves seriously, were more of a comedic relief than anything else. What this movie really lacked was the development of team Kakashi. Naruto being his usual dumb self, Sakura and Lee had as many lines as that Siberian tiger(!), which somehow managed to be incrusted into this mess of a story. The "villains" were the laughing stock of the movie, their designs, voices, (and what's with the wannabe Jiraya wigs?) no backstory, no motives, no nothing. With the intention of saving you the braincells (or remnants of the aforementioned if one has already managed to watch this "masterpiece") I'll spare you the details regarding the so called "character development" Well, OK, I'm just being coy. There isn't anything to spare actually. ENJOYMENT: 2 The three things that make Naruto enjoyable are: the fights, world building, and character development. Fight choreography and composition were sub-par, any traces of character development non-existent. As for world building, it was beyond the scope of this one and a half hour uninspired filler movie from the get-go. Naruto is all about enjoyment, and this movie had none. The word "painful" fails to describe what kind of fucking soul-wrenching, dimension-tearing, mahou shoujo tear-inducing hurt I was subjected to. I just kept begging either the movie or my life to end. TRIVIA: - After long and tedious work, me and my friend (yes, I needed backup) managed to count that the word "papa" was used forty-three times during the run time of one hour and twenty nine minutes of this movie. Which means you will hear the word "papa" accompanied by "dramatic" crying, on average, every two minutes and four seconds. OVERALL: (~3.4) = 3 I am giving it a 3 and I consider this does justice to this masterpiece of modern cinema. Its lack of redeeming qualities even for a Naruto movie is really unbelievable. If you have some free time, and are bored as hell, just go and watch something more intellectually stimulating and enjoyable like...homeless dogs taking a shit on your lawn. Really, you have been warned. Watch this at your own risk.
Naruto movie 3 honestly surprised me. While I wasn't expecting anything more than an extended length episode, instead Naruto movie 3 stands on its own as a genuine movie. The story seems to be pretty standard fare, on paper anyway, but is handled well for all that. The story contains the depth and pathos that the show aims to have, elevating it. As always, the content of the story is not quite as important as the execution of the story and this movie succeeds in that respect. Story aside, standing largest of the movie's strengths is actually its art. The new character designs cooked upfor the film look good and the art is crisp and nice-looking. Further, the action sequences are fast, brutal, and possessed of an unusual fluidity. There are moments were the art direction takes strongly artistic bends, as well as taking more experimental shifts (particularly in some of the fight scenes) and this all works very well. Occasionally, the art in the comedic moments may seem discongruous to the art in the action sequences but it all works together surprisingly well and looks nice doing it. The music is good, seems lifted directly from the series (whether it really is or not) - though thats not a bad thing, per se. Music aside, there are many moments of well-placed silence to highlight the emotional gravity or drama in various scenes. Rock Lee nearly seems like a non-item particularly next to Naruto, who seems bent on carrying the entire movie. This is especially interesting in light of that while Rock Lee has probably the fewest lines of dialogue of any of the leads, he has some of the most involved and intense action scenes. It whould seem that Lee is tacked onto to this adventure simply for the sake of said action scenes (not that I'm complaining). Naruto is, naturally, possessed still of grating personality and largest importance to the movie, but he is not, overall, especially irritating. Overall though, the characters work well together and won't displease most folks. Overall, Naruto movie 3 stands apart as a good movie, not just a good Naruto yarn, due in large part to its high production values.

The worst Naruto movie in existence. I'm appalled at how something as horrible as this actually exists. So anyhow, the aesthetics are alright...I guess. Nothing else about this anime is even remotely decent. The story, man, I could predict everything that was going to happen right from the start. It's so predictable. Naruto meets a prick, does stuff to make that prick see he's wrong, owns a bad guy with a new Rasengan, we've already seen this pattern in the last two movies anyway. Once you figure out the basic roles of every character, there is nothing else to learn from this movie. Thebackground of this particular story is a joke. I mean seriously, circus animals? The characters likewise are extremely generic, like the story, and nothing special. And honestly, do you really want to go through the agony of watching an annoying little kid being a prick? If you don't like annoying small children in general, please avoid this movie like the plague. I like the Naruto universe a lot. I'm appalled that this abomination would actually be considered as potential filler for this anime. This doesn't compare to the crap filler that made Naruto last over 200 episodes. It's much much worse.
The Naruto movies aren't anything amazing but they're still somewhat enjoyable. That being said Naruto is one of my favorite anime but even so, i'm gonna give this an honest unbiased review. It's a typical predictable plot with some forgettable characters but plenty of action to enjoy. Story (6). All of the Naruto movies fall into the same trap, they have a predictable/average plot. Now I wanna say first of all i don't think it's not good just because it's not apart of the main story, for the most part I like filler. However this story didn't deliver anything I haven't seen before. I was actuallylaughing at some points because I was easily able to predict what was going to happen next. One of the characters was typical as well. I didn't necessarily think the story was bad but obviously it wasn't anything special. It was functional and it had a bit of an unexpected little turn at the very end. The end itself was in typical Naruto fashion so if you're a fan as I am you'll appreciate it. There was one scene concerning the Prince and his wife that happened and usually this plot point would've been revisited at some point toward the end. For some reason they did this scene and that was it, they never came back to it. It was probably made to show more emotion within one of the characters but it didn't make me care anymore than I did already so I still don't see the point of it. Art (8) The animation was actually very good this being a movie (which usually have better animation than the anime). The characters moved very fluently and the action scenes all looked well done. The environments looked pretty good, just overall it was consistantly pretty throughout. I think this is one of the best qualities of the movie compared to the story and characters. Sound (7) The soundtrack wasn't that relevant, there weren't too many occasions where the music was played but for what it was I liked the songs when they did play them. A classic OST track was added as well at the end with a slight remix to it which was a nice touch. The outro song/montage was nice as well and I actually liked it. As usual, the general sounds were crisp and clean and nothing bothered me. For the most part everything did what it had to do. Characters (6). I gave the characters a 6 because watchers of the anime already know Naruto, Sakura, Kakashi and Rock Lee...so there's nothing new there and I didn't base the grade on them. The characters they introduced weren't special, forgettable as usual but functional as usual too. The kid I guess would be the "main" character out of the new characters. He came off as very predictable and uninteresting to me, i knew right away he was going to be a bratty scared kid in the beginning and then upon meeting Naruto he changes into a nicer more confident person. The prince (fat guy) was a bit funny to me, he wasn't anything special but worked and didn't really annoy me. The main antagonist though quite possibly has the worst name in Naruto history, i'm not gonna say it i'll leave it up to whoever watches it to see it for yourselves. There were some shinobi involved and they were over confident and weak as usual. They had a cool power but that couldn't convince me Kakashi, Naruto and Lee would lose to them...not by a long shot. The villian from the last movie was alot better in my opinion these villians weren't really good at all. The only thing they were there for was to be fought by Kakashi's team. Watching Lee fight was very entertaining though, and there was a very cool fight scene towards the end involving circus animals and kakashi. They did do a disservice by killing off a few supporting characters that seemed to be cool pretty early on and that was a bit dissapointing. Enjoymet (7) Like i said earlier i am a Naruto fan after all so in no way did i dislike this movie. In all honesty though I didn't exactly have the same experiance as i did with the regular anime. There were cool action sequences mostly envolving the ending that was nice. The beginning was a bit slow and boring but more towards the middle is when things picked up so I wasn't uninterested. Basically I don't regret watching this at all, but I don't plan on rewatching any time soon really. Overall this is a decent watch. If you're a fan of Naruto you're gonna probably watch this anyway. If you don't like Naruto I don't see why you'd watch this. Finally if you don't like filler it's up to you whether or not you want to pass this up. Like i said, if you like the show it's not a bad watch. The movie has it's moments and it's not at all terrible, That's about it. I know this was long and i apologize but if you agreed give my review a thumbs up, hope this helped (:
**THIS REVIEW MAY CONTAIN A FEW SPOILERS** After the improvement of the second Naruto movie surely there is a chance for the next Naruto movies to get better right? WRONG!!! That chance I was hoping for got drop-kicked out of the window as soon as I saw this movie. This movie is TERRIBLE!! and now I will make a review on it to hopefully take out all of my stress I have obtained after my view of it. Story: (2/10) The story of Naruto movie 3 begins with Naruto, Sakura, Lee, and Kakashi walking towards their next assigned mission that is meant to escort a very rich mannamed Michiru Tsuki and Hikaru Tsuki all around the world but there will be a suprise waiting for them as soon as they get to the Moon Country. Ok, so first off imagine the story of the first movie and make it 2 times more stupid and the result you will get is this movie's story. The pacing of the movie is terrible, it moves at a snail's pace and it is worse during the early half of the movie and all this time is dedicated to the characters so we as the viewers can relate to them but they are all so unlikable that I just want to stab myself the whole time. In the middle part of the movie it introduces a new conflict that just seems comes out of nowhere and it totally feels like it is out of place because there is no buildup to it in the whole early half of the movie at all. The final fight scene of the movie is supposed to be really dramatic but I just found myself laughing the whole time it was on! I mean, really? A crescent moon rasengan? Art and Animation: (4/10) The art in the first half of the movie manages to stay good but when the later half of the movie begins the art just takes a nosedive in quality. The character designs look inconsistent all the time! The backgrounds don't look as good, and the special attack visuals don't look cool at all. The animation in the movie is the same as the art in quality. The bad animation starts to look really apparent during the final fights in the movie and I would even say that the animation from the anime is much better in comparison to this. Sound: (3/10) If you thought that the soundtrack for the first movie was generic and forgettable, wait until you hear the soundtrack to this movie. The only thing I liked about it was that after 2 other movies they finally put "The Raising Fighting Spirit" song into a Naruto movie. The voice actors did a fine job voicing the characters except for the person who voice acted for Hikaru because at moments his voice would seem off. Characters: (2/10) I would say that the characters are the worst part of the movie. Naruto is still his same stupid self and him being motivational when the time calls for it. Sakura's whole role in the movie is just to fight 1 out of the 3 villains and to punch Naruto and call him a baka for any stupid things he does. Lee is supposed to be the replacement for Sasuke because of how Sasuke left with Orochimaru in the later half of the anime. Lee barely contributes anything to the story to the point that Lee could have just been not in the movie at all and all he does in movie is to fight 1 out of the 3 villains. The sad thing about Lee is that on the page of this movie and in the characters & voice actors section he is called the supporting character. Michiru had the potential of being a good character with the conflict of him wanting to get his wife back but this is quickly pushed away. Then, we have Hikaru which to me is one of the reasons why I thought the movie was bad. In the early half of the movie he is just very unlikable with how he acts and I'm sure he cried at least 10 times in the movie and I know that he is a kid but I think that that is a little too many times for him to cry. He soon learns to have more courage in one of the conflicts he runs into in the early half of the movie but after that he quickly reverts back to being a cry baby even thought the situation he was in before could have been the death of him. Finally, we have the villains. These villains are the most one dimensional villains I have ever seen because they are very undeveloped due of how little backstory they are given and the only thing they care about causing chaos. Enjoyment: (2/10) The movie was just only 1 hour and 34 minutes of suffering. Overall: (2/10) Naruto Movie 3: Dai Koufun! Mikazuki Jima no Animaru Panikku Dattebayo! is a movie that could even be an insult to the fans of the anime and for everyone else it is a piece of trash and should be forgotten as fast as possible.
This one was definitely better than the last movie. While the previous one was good, the story bored me and the new characters didn't interest me much. This time around, the story and characters are both better. The story though, doest take some time to develop. The first half is slow, but it sets up the story nicely. It is the usual escort mission that goes awry. And then Naruto and his teammates have to come into save the day. It's been done before, but it's not too tired to become a drag..... 6 The art was beautiful in the anime, really vibrant colors that seemedto be missing from the second movie. Higher production values on the movie are really evident. ... 9 The sound is it's usual sound. While the English VA is serviceable, I'm sure the Japanese VA is better. I watched this one off CN, and not the Interwebz so that's the reason for that.... 7 The new characters are serviceable, they are interesting but nothing that really warrants remembrance. Except for the leader of the mercanry Shinobi. He has an interesting glove that can turn opponents into stone. And he actually uses it to some tragic use. Naruto doesn't stray at all from his usual mold, but it's the guy we love....7 The enjoyment is given an 8. The fight scenes are good, but not too long unfortunately. Thankfully we get to see some of Naruto's other side break through.... 8 Overall it gets a 7 from me.
Very good battles in this movie. Never seen Lee, Sakura and Naruto fight that way. I like the strength Sakura have got under the training of Tsunade. Uhm, it's just the prince, he's pathetic, but the rest of the movie is great! I recommend this movie.
Naruto Movie 3: Guardians of the Crescent Moon Kingdom Directed by: Toshiyuki Tsuru Naruto the Movie 3: Guardians of the Crescent Moon Kingdom is another typical Shounen filler anime movie. Here's my opinion on it. Story (5/10): Naruto teams up with Sakura, Kakashi, and Rock Lee to escort Prince Michiru and his son, Hikaru, to the Crescent Moon kingdom. A typical Shounen filler plot. Nothing too great but not terrible either. Art (5/10): The art in my opinion is a huge step down from the art of the first two movies and the anime tv series. It's not terrible, it's just very disappointing. Sound(7/10): Failure to use the music from the anime tv series allows for a decent soundtrack but ultimately forgettable. Still pretty good though. Character (7/10): Good characters with Chamu being my favorite of the non-anime tv series characters. Hikaru was a spoiled brat at first but you grow to like him more and more as the film progresses. Overall, one of the better parts of the movie. Enjoyment (7/10): I enjoyed this film a lot, mostly because I am die hard Naruto fan. It was pretty good. Overall (7/10): Naruto the movie 3: Guardians of the Crescent Moon Kingdom is a good movie dspite lacking a great story and the art being sub-par. Overall, I'd recommend it mostly for just Naruto fans or if you're bored and want to watch a decent anime film. Otherwise, it's a easy pass as it doesn't affect what goes on in the Anime. 7/10.
Too wholesome, just what the franchise needed. The animation is peak, the music is awesome, the tempo, the pauses, the finally non-linear secondary characters reating to situations in a realistic way, the dialogues and all of it is truly remarkable. Too bad fans are obsessed with jutsu and fighting to enjoy something this unique. The art style chosen for this movie is superb, I wish we had seen more of it. Of course there are a few things I'd like to be done differently but what's the point of nagging about something that can't be done. Enjoy what you get. This is it.
I watched the third Naruto film having watched the anime series. The first half hour was basically plotless, and when plot did develop it was unintresting. However, I would say this film was really saved by the art. The graphics in this film were outstanding for a Naruto production. I sometimes paused the movie just to look at the outside imagery of the sunset or whatnot, it really suprised me. The sound was also unexpectedly good, it wasn't the music used but more the way they used it, the timings were spot on and I liked when they paused the sound once in a while tocreate a dramatic effect. Another positive thing to mention was the fight scenes. I really enjoyed them, I liked the wide range of jutsu's and the quick movements, it made everything fast paced and exciting. You don't need good plot to have good action scenes and this film is an example of that. I guess, a part of me gave this a 7 because it had a lot Kakashi Hatake and I just love that man (I'm only human) so maybe I'm a little biased too. It's not a great movie by any means but it did manage to kill of some spare time. STORY: 4 ART: 8 SOUND: 7 CHARACTER: 7 ENJOYMENT: 7 OVERALL: 33/50 : 66% : (Good-7)
Pretty solid. In terms of quality its almost identical to the previous two movies. There were some really gorgeous shots though, which surprised me. Again, the fact that this is pretty much just three or four episodes of the show combined slightly disappoints me. These movies could be an outlet for the show to do something a little different with the characters and story, yet they just resort to copying the formula of the show, (not that the show is bad). One thing I've noticed in the show and these movies is that whenever any of the teams goes out on a mission that's mainly focusedon new characters outside the Leaf Village, I really have a hard time caring. It's the adventures that take place in the village or have serious implications to the characters of the Leaf Village that are most engaging and interesting. I have a vested interest in these characters, so to see them threatened on their home field is much more captivating than seeing them defend characters that will never come back after two episodes. Overall not terrible, but I hope that the Naruto: Shippuden movies do different things. For the most part I enjoyed it though. Probably won't ever watch it again.
This is the third Naruto movie, made well after the fillers had kicked in the main series. By now the franchise had turned to a farce and only diehard fans kept up with it, just because they didn’t want to admit their favorite show had gone under. This movie was made just for kicks and you see right away how the producers didn’t even try to make it a little bit interesting just for the sake of novelty. The first was memorable for the movie gimmick, the second for the weird blend of cultures, but this one is a complete joke. And it’s not evena funny one. You no longer feel like it is the tale of a boy trying to live by and be accepted in a rough world, but a bunch of clowns goofing around in a poor attempt to keep us interested. Although the atmosphere and plot are equal to a tv filler episode (rock bottom), the production values remain of higher caliber and the battles are far more dynamic. Which at this point it is basically the only thing a Narutard could say to defend this ridiculous franchise. The basic plot is about our heroes escorting an obnoxious king and his nihilistic boy prince back home. This prince Hikaru is your average bored-to-death modern kid, pampered, without hobbies, wears glasses and plays videogames all day. I guess the emo kids with a bleak past were no longer selling so they tried to appeal to the average person who would watch this. So anyways, later on a circus comes into the action. Do you believe we moved from a world in the brink of war and mechanized ships destroying villages to a four-eyes going to see some clowns? And seriously, although the first movie was also about escorting royalty, Jaru is a completely nerdy and lame character. Hell, at least Temujin from the second movie could fight. This jackass can’t even walk! Of course it couldn’t remain so boring; we are supposed to have some excuse for battles here, remember? So later on there are marriage problems with the king’s ex-wife, and his kingdom is usurped by his viceroy, and there are these mercenaries who are hired to kill them all. Of course their coup doesn’t work so well because Naruto goes Super Saiyan just because the writer doesn’t want to let him die. And why the devil is the villain so stupid? He captures and imprisons the king when all he wanted was to kill him? And seriously, did the most powerful ninjas really need the help of a circus troupe to infiltrate a simple mansion? This makes no sense… But as I said, this was made just for kicks and has absolutely no consistency to the power levels or the motivations of the characters. The heroes appear to be rookies when in the main series they are elites, and the opposing ninjas don’t even have a symbol on their head guards. And apparently a circus tiger is more powerful than all of them put together. Once again, only Naruto is important to the plot. The villains are again shallow as hell and the good guys are there just because the movie is supposed to be mostly action and needed more people to fill in the fights. This time they have Lee as a cameo and since he is a comic relief, he does his usual running around very fast gimmick. And for no apparent reason he wears those metallic rods to slow him down most of the story. He only removes them after he is owned and it would look cool to do a comeback. Not even the action is that good in comparison to the second movie. It feels far more cartoony, silly, and predictable. And the budget is also quite run down too. They are drawn in a blobby way, with very little or no lightning and shading on them. The visual effects are also bad, with rather crude 3D effects and poorly drawn explosions. It even ends the usual way (Rasengan on the villain’s face and Naruto giving his motivational monologue to the emo kid that makes everything feel right). Anyhow, this is complete disaster of a movie and one of the worst additions to the franchise. Not even worth watching for the sake of completing your movie collection.
This movie is... bad. Like, not the worst thing ever but definetely bad. It just felt like... I dunno how to describe, crappy kids' movie. The art is better than the anime but is almost at the anime's level. It is just a bit better than the anime. The music was alright. But hot damn, the story was just plain freaking bad. The whole Naruto thing feels tacked on. It doesn't feel like Naruto aside from the ninjas put there just to be there. They barely do ANYTHING interesting in the story. There's this rich spoiled kid in the movie who is sad because he doesn'thave any friends. You know, there could have been some interesting character development here. But they screwed that part up. I won't spoil anything anyways. Characters, as I said, are there just to be there and there are the overweight guy and the annoying brat who are pretty bad characters. But ,I mean, at least Naruto is here... and Kakashi, even though he barely did anything here. The story is like a cliched kid's movie - the power of friendship. That brat is just so annoying and he isn't even a good character. They TAKE HIM SERIOUSLY! The tiger and the monkey don't really help either and make it even more cliched in that child movie way. The movie is just boring in general. It was like a high-production value filler but one of the baaaaad fillers. Overall, this movie is bad, 3/10. There are not many redeeming qualities here. Should you watch it? Unless you are like me and insist on watching all these movies, no. It's rather boring. You might enjoy it anyways but that's up to you. It's like a bad filler - so if you like most fillers (not saying you have a bad taste or whatever) or are just BEGGING for more Naruto (Why though?), you might consider this movie if you don't have other things Naruto.
At the time this movie was made the Naruto anime was already deep into it's long run of filler before Shippuden. It's safe to say that the main series was already stretching itself pretty thin with what could be done with it's relatively small cast of characters. So they gave everyone a new outfit. Despite the fact that these kids are shown to where the same thing all day every day in any and every other situation, because they're going on a boat trip they decided for the time in their lives to change clothes. Anyway this movie is not great. I give it the samegrade as all the other Naruto Part 1 movies. The characters just feel so stagnant, like every fight is a rehash of one that came before, and every bad guy has to have some weird dumb power because they can't be bothered to have consistent power scaling between filler and cannon material. Also annoying callbacks to things like "remember when Rock Lee got drunk? That was really funny, so what if we did that but like... again." Or "Remember Naruto using the Rasengan. What if he had a special one this time." Oh and Sakura was there too I guess. Really dumb fights with guys that have no business posing a threat to the kid who solo 1v1 fought a fully transformed Gaara and won. Anyway 6/10, probably wouldn't ever watch again.
Another shallow and typical story with the group going on a another adventure involving a king, queen, some betrayals, learning some heroic lessons and on on and on. The plot was predictable and there were some minor flaws here and there. The animation was on point though there were some issues with the CGI but overall the fights looked good and the character designs were great. The music was pretty good and similar to that of the series. After seeing the two other movies this was a bit of a drag and it was hard to keep focus since it was bland and the sameformula was used just like the other two movies.
This movie squeezes what can be of naruto, to be honest this looks like something made by fans, I can't identify if it is something official or if it was made by the same studio of the creator of the series, this is the third naruto movie so it doesn't add anything to the naruto story I couldn't call it "filler" since it is not part of the story, and like the other 2 movies, again they started from a "mission". The animation isn't good but it's not bad either, my question is if the movie was made at Pierrot Co, Ltd (naruto's anime studio) isbecause of the costumes they are using, it's the same but with different design; sakura in the anime has a dress so to speak and in the movie it is a set of a top and a skirt because it is not much difference, rock lee's costume was improved because from my point of view they no longer make him look so "ugly", regarding naruto his costume was the weirdest, it was not a ninja costume but clothes that simulated his costume, the character I was most displeased with was Kakashi because he didn't look like he was Kakashi, this character looks like he had to be forced and Kakashi's animation was the worst, there wasn't much action or fight so they didn't have to make an effort to animate one of the most important parts which is the combat. The voice actors sometimes made good expressions or screams because I felt as if they only read the dialogue and that made it lack a bit of dynamism. The story has the same formula as the other 2 movies, the first half hour we meet the characters that will make the plot of the story, an hour later naruto's companions and the other main characters make a bond of friendship and in the last half hour is the battle of naruto against the antagonists who want to take away something important to the new main characters of the movie, there is also a cliché that is repeated and that we have seen it a lot which is when naruto meets some other character that for naruto is someone "rude" and therefore they don't get along well but with the passage of time naruto empathizes so that later they become very good friends. On the other hand, although it has the same formula as the other 2 movies, it is different in a way and I enjoyed watching "Dai Koufun! Mikazuki Jima no Animaru Panikku Dattebayo!"
The plot was mediocre at best... the ending being total trash and illogical... but there are a lot of redeeming qualities to this movie. The art was fantastic and the soundtrack was classic Naruto. I felt a little betrayed by Naruto's attitude toward the beginning of the movie. He was not acting the way that Naruto normally does... he was bullying a CHILD. I don't understand why the writers would allow that. After everything Naruto has been through, I feel like he would be the first person to reach out to Hikaru to try and make him feel better. So, I mean, it was anok movie... but nothing special. I definitely wouldn't watch it again unless I was showing it to someone.
Guardians of the Crescent moon was an ok watch, but was very similar to the first film. The premise even started the same. What was initially an escort mission turns into what should be an international incident as they get involved in political affairs. A coup has taken place and instead of calling it quits as this is beyond the scope of what they were hired for, the ninja take the side of the prince. The villain mercenary ninja are also the same as the first film. They are cut and paste, aside from their clothing. A guy, a girl, and a bigger guy. The big guyeven has the same face. The other guy's glove is like the glove from the second film, replacing the blue gem with a glowing red eye. I liked their summer outfits. It's always nice to see a change of clothing in a series where the characters wear literally the same thing every episode. I didn't realize Kakashi was about as white as Orochimaru. I also liked the outfits of the royal moon guards, it was like a modern swat team look. The scene of the storm on the boat was cool. I could feel the sense of urgency as they scrambled to get the animals free from the cages, although I'm not sure how they were better off that way. Nonetheless, I thought the visuals of the water pushing everything back and forth were nice. The hanging scene near the end felt anticlimactic. The man should have died under the weight of his own body. A broken neck bone or something. Not saying I wanted him to die, but in a movie with ninjas casting water dragons, that was unrealistic. I guess the moonlight makes rasengans more powerful and glow purple. And how did Naruto's leg just go back to normal? There were at least 10 pinky promises made and I don't think any of them are gonna be kept. Apparently Gameboys are a thing in the Naruto universe.
