"Daddy don't fart in front of people!" Is only ONE of the philosophical adages from Mobile Suit Gundam-san worth quoting for hours to come. This show is hilarious, but it is imperative that you watch Mobile Suit Gundam before watching Mobile Suit Gundam-san. It's a sad fact of life, even sadder than that the "episodes" (I prefer to call them epics or neo-bibles) are only 3 minutes long, so you know it's quality. The art in this show is rendered in stunning, eye-blazing two-dimensional slide show format with minimal actual animation and seldom use of anything else. It must have cost several things to make! KillLa Kill was obviously inspired by Mobile Suit Gundam-san. But, what about the story? Well, that's not really important. Auditory bliss is what I would call the sound. There's no dub, but I'd pay Funimation to make one. In other words, an A+ for the sound. You can rate this as helpful, now. What can be said about the characters in Mobile Suit Gundam-san? All of them come from somewhere else. There's a few original characters. They're all for the birds. Get it!? No? Well, you better see Mobile Suit Gundam-san, then! In other words, best show I've ever seen. Quote it daily to my Mobile Suit Gundam fan friends, in other words nobody because I don't have any. Friends that is. This show is funny enough to make friendlessness feel okay.
A show that you really can't get unless you have watched Gundam. Story: Their isn't any story... Everything in the shown revolves around jokes about the Mobile Suet Gundam 79 TV show. Everything is meant to poke fun and make you smile. But, only if you have seen the show. If not its really isn't worth your time. (1) Art: This show uses a crude art style that is meant to be funny. The character models sharpen slightly and become more serious looking(kinda like the TV show drew them) then go back to the simpler art style. The art style is meant to add humor while watching,so that is what it does. Nothing visually impressive though.(8) Sound: What i found really interesting is the use of the Gundam 79's soundtrack. This somewhat remastered soundtrack fits in the modernized show while giving you the Gundam feel. The voice actors also do a great job voicing their roles, they try to capture the original voice actors voices in each character.(9) Character: The characters are suppose to be like the ones from Gundam 79. Except in this parody each character is given a new characteristic to add humor to the show, and so again if you have seen the show they will make sense to you. Keep in mind this is still a parody so no real character development is present, and so you won't be introduced to these characters beforehand as your suppose to know who they are before watching.(7) Enjoyment: If you understand all the references then you will be spitting up laughing. If not your out of luck. Overall: Mobile Suit Gundam-san is a funny parody of the Mobile Suit Gundam (Gundam 79) show. It involves a lot of humor that references the show with some perverted, and slapstick humor. I found it very entertaining and recommend it to any one of my friends who have seen Gundam 79. So i feel a 8/10 is acceptable. Though it is funny and has its moments it fails by having akward, unfunny moments that leave you stone silent. Also since its purely a reference to a show not many people will watch it and enjoy it like i did. Still, very solid and funny parody from this summer(2014).
