I'll keep this review short since this is basically the normal series, except a little bit more. ......... *Warning: For any of you who haven't watched the original series these are huge spoilers* What else do you want me to say, this is basically what the specials is, nothing different really happens. Nozaki is still as clueless as ever, Chiyo is still heads over heels for Nozaki, etc. It actually pretty much continues from where the original series left off. To be honest though.... you might not want to watch it. In the end, it's simply a teaser, it's like if you were a dog. And your owner gaveyou food, see you're satisfied with that. You knew how much you were getting, and you were fine with that. But then the owner starts tempting you by giving you a very small treat. Then you get all excited, anticipating more, and then in the end.... you're left practically disappointed. Plus how it was split up into 6 different parts was kind of unnecessary....
hey !! ^^ im not good at writing reviews and i don't have the habit too but i just couldn't write one for those specials :p First for me ''specials'' are created to add a little something at the end of a anime , you got it when you buy the C-D or when you get the premium . Normally specials aren't that ''specials'' (pun ;) ) i mean they are not so good they are more like average and doesn't add anything to the anime and it's not worth to buy thee c-D to see them . But those specials are different , imean they are really good , as the anime ^^ they are funny and diverting , it may start as normal specials but it get interesting and you get into them like a good anime . For me they are the best specials created , its short , it's like a episode ; so if you have some time free go watch them ! i swear they are worth it , and as i said , you gonna laugh or smile for sure :)
When going into Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun Specials at first I didn't know exactly what to expect. When I started to watch them I was saddened to find out they are only 3 minutes long. So the specials aren't bad themselves they still have the great comedy from the series. The episodes are in essence shorter versions of the comedic scenes in Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun. While there isn't much here it is something to watch if you want to get more of the Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun comedy. Due to it being 3 minutes each roughly you will only get around 20 minutes ofcontent so about 1 more episode of content. Here is hoping for a season 2... SCORE - 7.4 PERSONAL ENJOYMENT - 7.8
For the main series of Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun, I gave it a well-deserved 10. For the OVA, I'm afraid once again I need to grade what it deserves: a solid-but-not-that-impressive 8. I believe this OVA requires some sort of a warning: if you want to enjoy it thoroughly, you'd better watch the whole six parts with no break in-between. Otherwise, you would feel as scattered as this OVA. This is basically a 24-minute episode broken down to six pieces but the execution feels so economical, one couldn't help but feel this OVA as more of an afterthought for the main series as opposed to being along-awaited encore. If you want to think positively, perhaps the good people of Doga Kobo were simply holding their cards for the upcoming season (fingers crossed!). But if you don't, well, no need to worry because this OVA is still enjoyable-- it's just that we've seen the most joyous Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun could whip up. Ultimately, even for the best anime series out there, not all OVAs are winners and there's no obligation to being it in the first place. This OVA may even give you the craving to re-watch the entire series. No pressure, no expectation. #felixlovesanime
I think the way the specials are made is way better than the actual anime. It captures the essence of the manga separating the episodes in small stories rather than trying to connect everything in a 20 minutes episode filling the gaps with something. The actual anime is enjoyable tho, but I think the specials are closer to the real thing and better made. If by any chance they made a second season I would love if the studio keeps this format, not because is more similar to the manga, but because it makes the jokes and the story easier to understand.
I'll put the TL;DR at the top: This is a great addition to the regular series, and I think it wraps up a couple of the subplots quite nicely. Even though the episodes are only three minutes long, its good for a little pick me up, or you can binge them all together. Like other reviews say, its basically one episode split into six parts, but I think that format works terrifically for these specials. The specials take on the classic romance anime trope: the beach episode. Now if you've seen the regular series, you know that nothing will go the way you think itwill! So if you've seen or are currently watching the series, you should definitely watch these shorts too! Its a great way to wrap up the story, kinda like a nice dessert after a fine meal. I wish I could grow a third hand so that I could give this entire series not two, but THREE thumbs up!
