Where do I begin... Kokuhaku is a masterpiece in the broad medium of anime. It is said that if you watch Kokuhaku you will reach a new level of anime elite. I feel ascended after witnessing such art in the form of animation, but enough of what this anime has done to improve my life, I'm going to analyse ans review all the many beautiful aspects of this ONA. Story: 10 The plot is extremely good and entertaining. It manages to pack the plot equivalent of Monster into every second. While it may seem confusing at first, it expands into something that not even the greatest mindsin the world could comprehend. The plot twists and turns with every millisecond, overloading our minds with information and story. This artistic storytelling method of overloading us with information and revealing everything at the end was sloppily done in the popular anime, Steins;Gate. It took Kokuhaku 1 second to deliver the same effect but 10x better in one second. The story ends with something that can only be described as MAGNIFICENT. Art: 10 Kokuhaku is probably one of the only anime's that has nailed 3D animation, something that animation studios have not been able to do for tens of thousands of years. It bears a unique art style, detailing their cute girls with wonderful intricacy, contrasting with the dark and gritty tone. Sound: 10 The background noise is just the sounds of crows, an artistic choice from the director which I cannot explain fully without writing this review for a few millenia Character: 10 There are only two characters in this anime, but boy are they outstanding. We are seeing the story in first person through the eyes of an unnamed protagonist. The interactions he has with girl X are nothing short of superb, as we see the highest highs and the lowest lows of their relationship. Enjoyment: 10 Even though I am not intelligent enough to fully understand this, I am elite enough to know that this is the elite of all elite anime. Something that is not always understood by the casual scrubs of the community and therefore overlooked or undermined. This is something you have to experience for yourself. Overall: 1 Why does this even exist
My advice to anyone who values their time, is to not watch this festering garbage. Yes, it only lasts for 40 seconds, but this is a 40 seconds that you unfortunately will never get back. I cannot imagine the purpose behind this. It would be quite impressive to have a 40 second- long clip that could tell a story, convey emotion(s) and leave one with something worthwhile, but what's mostly concerning here is that Kokuhaku doesn't even attempt to achieve any of these things. The effort that has gone into this is utterly infinitesimal and is an embarrassment to the animation industry. It is notfunny, it is not clever, it is not well executed. It is appalling. Nothing, I repeat, nothing has been done to make this even remotely 'reasonable' as far as quality is concerned. The music to paint the emotion of the scene is non existent, which is usually an indispensable asset to any 'horror' animation/film. Even if music were used to any degree of effect here, it would add nothing. That is how bad this is. I will not list everything else wrong with this animation, as everything visually and auditorily that is present in this animation has been done terribly. All in all, it is woefully horrendous and should not be taken seriously whatsoever by anyone. It is a goose egg; it amounts to nothing and was never destined to amount to anything. Its creation was a mistake and should be banned from the internet and all forms of media.
This short in just 40 seconds managed to do what much anime could not. I was really touched by the beauty and hidden meanings. The animation is something that anyone can do, and whoever has done it is to be congratulated, because in a mere 40 seconds I was touched with the message that this story has passed, I am writing this excited by the animation, that without a voice, Managed to sum up all the love and hate I've ever felt. Note 10 without a doubt, I recommend Kakuhaku to anyone who has never seen animes, or simply is not interested in the subject, because the genius of the hidden message of this work will arouse the interest of anyone, very good indeed, again, I am touched.
I really like the clay animations of Takena, but this thing was just pointless and really really bad. I hope he won't make another one. The animation was somewhat ok, but the character design, the messy background, the sound (only the croaking of a crow could be heard), the plot (??????), and afterall the whole 40 secconds long video was horrible. I think I could make something like this with the combination of Paint and Movie Maker. I'm sure it's not the worst anime on MAL, but could be one of them. At least this one is not as disturbing as Utsu Musume Sayuri (in myopinion).
The greatest piece of fiction ever made. This is a must-watch for every anime fan. The story, animation and characters are all top notch, and shows like One Piece, Demon Slayer and Attack on Titan could learn a thing or two from this absolutely masterpiece. This absolute masterclass of writing an storytelling only comes around once in a generation, and this is a truly the citizen kane of our time. I believe that anime fans will be discussing the hidden meanings behind this for as long as human discourse exists. I feel enlightened, and am honoured to have had the pleasure of experiencing this pieceof media in my lifetime. Definitely one of the ONAs of all time.
Well, I guess Mr. Takena really wanted me to know how I'd feel if a random high school girl decided to stab me in the throat one day, granted we'd be living in a poorly rendered, early '00's looking 3DCG crapfest that reminds me why I always kept away from people who do hard drugs. Congratulations, Mr. Takeda, you've succeeded. Now, would you be so considerate to compensate me monetarily for my therapy sessions? It's really hard to consider any of his shorts anime, but I assume this one's the closest thing he has released to one. There's really nothing to go with in this fora longer review. I think he just experiments with animation software when he's bored. It gets one point because I am a fetishist of the school uniform type. I rate this 2 creepy looking high school girls stabbing me in the esophagus out of 10.
Overall a 1 (skip this anime) this anime claims to be a horror but i was not scared. I knew what was coming. To make matters worse it was just a (1) scare approach. I do have some pros though. 1. it was only about a minute long 2. i got to die rather than watch further. 3. the girl was kind of cutesound:there was no actual vocals. Audio was just sound effects. Story: was dull and boring Sincerely your reviewer, snapler p.s. if you want an anime done in the future reviewed that i haven't done already let me know.
(NO SPOILERS) honestly just made me laugh lmao, as far as the genre, horror, it absolutely did not achieve the goal of making me feel horrified/angry/scared. legit just hilarious that's all. art - just a badly made 3d mmd xd music - idk kinda quiet for what's happening in the film character - just a girl, nothing else i can say about her, she looks kinda innocent. enjoyment - this is the aspect that gives this "anime" a 6/10, it just made me laugh and caught me off guard because i didn't expect what it contained. overall - 6/10 just because of the enjoyment tbh not more i can say aboutit lmao so yeah bing bong ding dong ching chong ping pong kling klong
How can anyone say that Mars of destruction is the worst anime ever if we have THIS on the site??? It was such a wast of time watching this "anime" that I'm at a loss for words, I don't even know what else to say... I don't even know why this is "horror", I only felt that it was bad while watching it, it got me thinking: "wth am I doing watching this?" I can't even begin to understand how something so short can be such a waste of time. The only thing I can do is say: If you read this: Don't watch thisOr watch, wathever But it will be a waste of time
Usually I don't review anime but this one is so good the plot is fantastic the overall animation is phenomenal the music is beautifully composed and the ending was so good the suspense up until the last second is so beautifully ended to this masterpiece I hope other anime's take inspiration from this masterpiece. The voice acting is also so damn good whoever did the voice acting for the girl is so talented. Hope this gets a sequel that is equally as good as this emotional anime. In conclusion I love this anime and I hope the company who made this, god bless theresouls.
Kokuhaku is a 40-second "horror animation" that I found out about on YouTube. I looked at the ratings on mal and saw that it was rated 2.23. I thought to myself,"Why not give this a shot? It's only 40 seconds long." During those forty seconds, I felt no emotions, only confusion. I still don't know what the heck I had just witnessed. (Spoilers) A girl meets up with a guy outside of a school. She has her hands behind her back, as if she is hiding something. I kind of already guessedthat it would be some type of weapon based on the "anime" being labeled as horror, and I was definitely right. The horror did not come from it being scary or psychological, but instead from being so horribly bad. I recommend that you watch this just so that you can send a link to your friends and waste their time. overall: 1
Outstanding quality. I have never seen a plot this complicated. I was so intrigued in the storyline. You never knew what was going to happen next. Let's talk about detail. First of all, the detail is SO clean, and very realistic. If I didn't know this was an anime, I would've thought this was a real movie. I love the first person view, it really feels like I'm in the movie. Anybody would cry to the amount of detail and effort put into this masterpiece. Next, storyline. The voice actors did a very good job. They brought out so much emotion. This really changed the setting of thestory. The suspense that was put into this movie, just made it x10 better. Watching this really changed my perspective on life. I really recommend watching this. Detail: 10/10 Storyline: 10/10 My lunch: 10/10 (was a bagel) Sound quality: 10/10 Character development: 10/10 Overall: 10/10 Have a great day, Signed, Eren Jaeger
Like... Is this even a anime? Who put this in here? Why?? I just lost 40 seconds of my life... Everything is painfully poor, and to the person who put this "anime" in here, why??? It's lazy MMD, has a cliche story with no plot, no sense even? There is just one sound of crows during all the "episode" and there's just one action, just one. I was genuinely scared that this was a jumpscare, for our fortune it is not, this seems like a MMD practice that someone uploaded, then someone put it on MAL as a joke, I guess? This is no worthyour time, seriously...
I'm not a fan of long reviews so I'm going to keep this short and to the point. Not sure if its even possible to do a long review on this... its 40 seconds long. I can't say it's terrible, nor can I say it's OK. It's just very bad. It looks like someone made this in probably less than a minute on some free CGI software and said yeah that's good. The fact that the only sound was a crow made the whole thing awkward. The character staring at your soul made me question the deep meaning of this. It's 40 seconds, go watch it and people won't be able to call you a normie watcher after that.
Absolutely magnificent animation which says a lot about today's society without even having to pay for voice actors. The crows encapsulate the true feeling of living in a modern world. The author clearly spent a lot of time animating and perfecting this work of art. and though the runtime is only 40 seconds, quality over quantity has always been my motto. Make time for this masterpiece, it's truly worth it and will give you a whole new outlook on life. poggers The main character is a very interesting individual and is well versed in knife crime, which could allude to this anime taking place in a locationsuch as London. The death (Spoilers!) is truly gripping and your emotions will be toyed with. :)
