Whether it be facing misogynistic remarks from her boss or being pressured by condescending co-workers, stress is just another part of the job for 25-year-old red panda Retsuko. Despite being one of the most diligent workers at her office, her diminutiveness and modesty often lead her to be exploited by her colleagues. However, when her irritation hits the limit, Retsuko brings forth her unique brand of letting off steam: aggressive death metal karaoke bashing the idiocy and hypocrisy of her co-workers' actions and work life. Although this venting only takes place in her mind, it gives her an outlet to counter her frustration in a world where hierarchy and appearances reign supreme. [Written by MAL Rewrite]

Aggresive Retsuko manages to be hilarious with just a single minute per episode. The story is simple, Retsuko has to deal with way too relatable stressful situations during her everyday life, and when she can't handle what happens in that episode anymore, she goes crazy and starts singing death metal music, the way it's done makes the series really fun because you totally emphatize with the protagonist and her reactions are just priceless. The character designs are simple but charming, the music is mostly 2-3 songs and that's all which is fine considering its duration, and there is always Retsuko giving some lyrics in her rage attacksanyways. If you have some minutes available and you're looking for a quick laugh, give a try to Aggresive Retsuko, it's totally worth it.
to be honest, this is probably one of the most enjoyable animes I've ever watched I (and basically everyone lmao) have never felt relatable to a character then Retsuko, Retsuko is literally me when someone says something i don't like, does something i dont like, act a way i dont want them to or do something that i don't like, there are 100 episodes and all of them are 1 minute which means that you can get this anime done in 1 hour and 40 minutes the story is simple: Retsuko deals with stressful situations and goes to karaoke to start singing death metal music to help with herstress, all the characters are anthropomorphic animals, and all of thier designs are cute and match their personality very well and the charaters do kinda feel like real people with how they act and all, Retsuko, of course, being the most relatable to everyone that's, all i can really say the story is good the art is good the sound is great you can really hear it characters spot on and i really enjoyed it overall Aggressive Retsuko is an anime that you can watch when your bored, or have some time on your hands
Aggressive Retsuko manages to be very funny with just over 1 minute per episode. Story (8/10): The story is very simple. It is about a red panda girl named Retsuko who has an office job. She deals with way too realistic and relatable real world problems and when she can't take them anymore, she sings death metal and her reactions are priceless. Art (8/10): The art is very good but nothing to die for. Sound (8/10): The music while only being 2-3 songs, is fine considering the length of each and every episode. Character (8/10): Retsuko is a great character and the side characters aregood as well. Enjoyment (9/10): I enjoyed Aggressive Retsuko very much. It was very funny and had a different vibe that I don't really get from any other Anime that I have watched. Overall (8/10): Agressive Retsuko is a very good show and I recommend it. It is great especially because you can watch all of it in a day. Highly Recommended.
I'm trying to recall the points I made 6 months ago. Note that many of the detailed story elements aren't too fresh to me given my vague memories of the show. I will, however, try the best I can to provide an unbiased critique, a personal account on how I view it. I am ardently hyping for season 2. It is a pretty standard show that caught my attention due to the popularity of a few of its characters, especially Haida, who has since became quite a sensation in the furry fandom. Regardless of that fact, Aggretsuko doesn't exactly break boundaries. It's concept is interesting, butto be fair every show starts off with a concept or else it wouldn't have been greenlit, so it's not that big of an achievement in itself. In this case, an ostensibly submissive and meek anthropopmorphisized red panda braves her toilsome working environment, hiding her true nature as a death rock karaoke enthusiast. The majority of the show is pretty much cliched stuff, inspired by early 2000s office drama with supple much explored motifs. A handful of those include haggles with bosses, gossips with colleagues, experiments with relationships etc. They are mostly indulgent. I don't consider them anything beyond the value of superficial entertainment. It doesn't mean there's nothing else to appreciate. Character species are well chosen in that they reflect each individual personality and trait. Humor is well strewn over the runtime and peaking every so often during the karaoke scenes. Haida, if I haven't mentioned it earlier, is indeed adorable; not just him but many other leads like Retsuko and Fenneko as well. All in all, Aggretsuko is just another office drama with animal characters. You'll be quite glutted if you go in with low expectations and an appetite for colourful animal designs. If you are looking for sophisticated and impactful content, it is probably a pass for you.
2020 has been a… somewhat cathartic year, hasn’t it? In a dark, Carlin-esque-way, I’m kind of infatuated with it in many respects. The constant stacking of laissez faire capitalism, oozing with corruption of power from authoritative figures paired with rampant political correctness - exposing the true, repugnant husk of a selfish society masquerading as law-abiding citizens. It’s. Just. Ambrosia. Speaking a tad more seriously, rather, with less malice in my tone - my greatest sympathies go to those effected in the worst of ways by these trying times, from looting, paranoia - etc. And I’m sure each and everyone of us are falling to somevice, indulging in some decadence to get us through such a benighted year. Some have alcohol. Some have drugs. Some have online gambling (which is basically playing any game with microtransactions in it… so, ya know, most of em). Me? I have the shows that break me out of my shell a little - to laugh at the absurdism of the reality around me. You can guess where I’m going with this. Aggretsuko - is a divine comedy and a silver bullet against seemingly consuming shades of nocturne - A.K.A; you watch it, I don’t care how much of a prune you are - it’s going to make you laugh at least once. But what makes it humors so potent? What about it has permeated so much throughout the community even now that it has gotten various sequels and ovas? Well, it should be obvious; it makes a black comedy of the mundane routine of life most of us will face in this world; a boring 9-5 job. Our protagonist and the crux of this show; Retsuko; struggles with gusto and great humor the tiresome realities of an office workspace; from crushes that go bad, a menagerie of gossip; the minefield of awkward gatherings with coworkers you so desperately desire to be friends with but have that awkward distance of still being in a relationship of business over friendship. I firmly believe in this medium; Retsuko is the most “relatable” anime for basically any adult, at its worst during its one-minute-runs, it is inoffensive - at its best - it has the potential to rival some of The Office’s best scenes in less than half the time. The reason Retsuko shines as, not just a placeholder for the viewer, but as her own honed and defined character is that while she does have a formula; set up - downfall - then goes absolutely bananas and begins rampaging so strongly Gojira himself begins to cower - it’s the little nuances in between her character that can make you, for a time, believe she’s more than just a protagonist - but a singular person. You can see consistent quirks in her room as well as office space, an insecurity of gender in a majority-male-dominated-workplace, there’s tinges and dashes of a personality that begins to grow on you as your time with this crackerjack-run of a show goes on. Not just her, but the side characters serve their time on the screen as well - granted with much less nuance, and I hate to defend a show in terms of logistics; . . . what do you expect for one minute on screen? They’ll make you laugh, but, at least for now - I’d hold back any thought regarding them being as personable as Retsuko herself. . . so. . . . what else can I really go over? The art? Oh, it’s serviceable and the aesthetic is darling as well as befitting of the scenarios our character is placed in, abrasive and colorful as if sugar but when that shift in her happens - you can expect all hell to let loose with heavy metal and domineering shades of red. Haha, this is something that’s pretty rare. . . I’m out of stuff to say. Why? There’s not really much to say; Retsuko provides a form of relief against a nearly nihilistic society and is exceedingly not just digestible for all age groups - but deeply resonating as well as engrossing in this one theme - taking a load off and laughing at the insanity, and by-the-books nature of your life. No, I can’t break down the esotericism of its animals in relation to Eastern culture. No, I can’t go on, and on, and on about its provocative ost. And no, I will not pull a thematic throughline out of a hat to give myself more to write about when it’s not there; what is there is a comedic, near masterpiece of this medium that demands at least one watch from every person at some point in time. What does Retsuko give you? The greatest gift; laughter. And one I’m sure we all need right now. There’s nothing else I can say, except; thanks for reading; and catch ya later.
So since I felt like this show needed more reviews I'll put my heart into writing one!Spoiler-free! Story: 9/10 It's a simple story about every day life for a women that has a hard job and a variety of co-workers.It can get very relatable at times, and make you laugh all the time.I often feel bad for Retsuko, and can't help but laugh at her anger issues through the series. The story though, seems like it has no end:That's not bad to be honest, quite entertaining and catchy! Art: 8/10 The art is very cartoon-ish and cutesy, simple with nice colouring.I didn't pay much atention to it, but when you do itsquite enjoyable. Sound: 7/10 If it wasn't for the sound I doubt I would have enjoyed it as much. The best part is Retsukos metal screamo! Character: 8/10 I really liked that instead of humans, we have animals living through human struggles! And a variety of them on top of it!So many personalities and a variety of conversations in between them.Very nice! Enjoyment: 8/10 I watched this show instead of studying for my final in latin.Except for the fact that I hate latin, you can probably tell if I enjoyed it or not! uwu Overall: 8/10 This show is pretty much for everyone! And I hope you all watch it, and as Retsuko says: "Gotta be reddy for tomorrow!"
Aggretsuko is the working man's (or woman's) Hello Kitty. A too-real story about a young office worker who hates her job and co-workers and needs to find some way to cope. Aggretsuko's many tales of navigating office politics, dealing with the cold reality that conflicts with her imaginative and hopelessly romantic ideals in her mind, and finding happiness in her world of monotony and disrespect, allow for us the viewer to see the story of struggles that may or may not be too close to home for some of us poor unfortunate souls. The brilliance of Aggretsuko is in the relatability of the characters. Eachcharacter has a quircky aspect of their personality that is not overbearing to the point where they become one dimensional, and even those who appear to be one dimensional characters have moments that shed light on their deeper personalities. Aggretsuko is a show that stands because of its characters, and overall is a very good show to watch. It may very well be able to stand the test of time and be considered a must watch title for any anime fan in the future.
When I first heard news about this anime coming out on Netflix I couldn't wait to watch it. The advertisement was catchy and I couldn't help but find it hilarious. When I finally got to watch it I grew attached immediately. I feel exactly how the main character does in her situation at work. I'm hard working so people like to push stuff onto me, and my work environment has been nothing but hell. I really enjoyed the ideal that I could relate to the main protagonist. I would highly rate this anime as it is incredibly comical and just feeling the character's emotions andunderstanding her situation being similar to mine made me feel not so alone in my struggles. I really enjoyed especially watching this when I'd be at work on my lunch break because I could get a good laugh in and cool my head. highly recommend
Aggressive Retsuko was fun to watch! With every episode I watch, I feel more and more related to Retsuko. Her inner thoughts with her coworkers and even her bosses get me every time. The characters are a bit different from the Netflix series, especially Haida, he doesn't have a big crush on her but instead, he seems like a background character. Though it feels like only a few characters have a personality, making me like the Netflix series a little bit more but other than that I highly recommend you give this anime a chance! It's a really fast watch with every episode being a minutelong!
Sometimes, you need a feel-good, relatable, or funny anime to watch in between tasks or even to wind down between eps of a different show. Not particularly good for younger audiences, teens and children would probably not resonate with the situational humor, but YA's and older would probably like it! If you're not sure if you'd want to watch the Netflix series, start with this one to get a taste of the humor style first, and if you enjoyed this show I HIGHLY recommend the Netflix one too as it actually provides a good (but simple) plot! MAL is telling me to make my reviewlonger, but honestly I don't know what else to say. Art's nice and cute and works, story is just little clips that slowly amass a understanding of the world and characters within it, the sound design is pretty nice and well timed for comedy, characters all work well in the settings, I really enjoyed it and I think it's a good show.
I'm such a sucker for cute stuff so when i saw the shorts when they first came out i fell in love !! the art is super adorable and was made by Sanrio (the creators of hello kitty) the anime/shorts is about a red panda that works in an office and when she gets stressed out she sings metal at a karaoke to relieve her stress. if you want to watch something short watch this BUT there is a Netflix version which is more focused on characters/story growth if you want to watch something cute and about a red panda that is relatable Isay please watch!!!
Despite the 100 very short episodes, the Aggretsuko shorts were able to keep things fresh and fun for longer than the TV series. Maybe it's because of the shorter runtime, but every different short felt unique and they were all super funny! They did everything they set out to do perfectly. The voice acting, BGM, and animation aren't the best, but considering the type of series this is, it's not a big deal. The full-length Aggretsuko series improves on those fronts. Overall, I'd recommend this series to anyone, especially fans of the Aggretsuko series. The shorts are only a minute long so anyone can fitit in to their schedule. :)
How fun would you think it is to watch 100 episodes (1 minute each) of a red fox talking about her adult life and singing death metal when angry? -Story 10/10- You didn't really have to pay attention to each episode or watch each episode in the specific order to understant the plot. Basically all you need to know is 'red fox with anger issues living her adult life and singing death metal when enraged' -Art 10/10- I like how they weren't half animals half humans but fully animals that could walk and talk, this leaves the viewer to wonder what each character would look like as ahuman. Overall pleasant characters to look at -Sound 10/10- Nothing much to say the VA were INCREDIBLE -Characters 10/10- It's really cool how you get to see the characters mainly from the main character's point of view rather than a random point of view. That's it for the characters -Enjoyment 10/10- Even though I didnt binge watch it all in 1 or 2 days it was really enjoyable, if you are looking for something that can take almost 2 hours to watch and also remember what was going on this is for you -Overall 10/10- I don't have much to say except that I hope sanrio keeps it up with the good animes
