Upon waking up, Subaru Natsuki finds himself in a parallel reality of the fantasy world he has come to accept as his own. Despite being familiar faces, Subaru's friends are vastly different, especially as they enjoy the life of modern society that he knows all too well. This mysterious world captures the intrepid boy's interest nonetheless, and a clash between his antics and the dubious inhabitants soon leads to all sorts of amusing scenarios. I personally sees no point for them to make these special when we have to wait for another episode of Re:zero. Aside from making a comedic like skit. Or prolly the studio's and the voice actor/artist ways of having fun from the overly intense voice acting that was required to do in the series. To either enlighten their mood after voicing those depressing scene in Rezero, but at the same time, giving some comedy to the audience of the related character in the show in a very cute form, or fun looking character designs. Similar to those short Tanaka kun special. Where each episode lastedpretty fucking short and have no real connection to the actual story. So it's not really necessary to watch this, and if you want to watch the anime with its serious vibes fully intact. I would recommend that you should just avoid watching these funny, comedic skit until you finish the entire episode of Re:zero season 1. But if you're into those kind of things, then go for it. These special and short episodes kinda destroy the overall perception of their character vibes given in the actual series itself. So i personally recommend to not watch this while season 1 of Re:zero is still incomplete.
Okay, here we go for the twenty-eighth time: Characters: -Main characters: Seeing them go through these absurd situations is endearing, and I find their chibi designs adorable. (6/7) -Secondary characters: The random situations with these characters, with attitudes even stranger than those in the main anime, amuse me. (2/3) Logic: It doesn't explain how and why Subaru ended up in that parallel reality, nor does it tell me why the situations change so much or why there are situations that repeat themselves with only minor variations, and it seems that Subaru is the only one who notices this. (6/10) Entertainment (personal): I love the random scenes in the modern world with thebeloved characters from this anime, because there are so many situations that can be created. (8/10) The basics in an anime: -Animation: I like the chibi design for a comedy. (1/2) -Music: There are only sound effects. (0/2) -Addictiveness: I would watch it again because it's silly fun. (2/2) -Tag fulfillment: I didn't have to check that this is a comedy. (1/2) -Ending: Promoting themselves is the best thing. (1/2) Plot development (or initial premise): Plot moment bouncing in front of Subaru's eyes. (3/10) Personal reflection (clearly personal): Nothing, but at least there were laughs. (0/10) Comments: I love comedic situations and all that, but I agree that it wasn't right for all of this to be aired at the same time as the more raw episodes of the main series. But hey, that was a problem for those who saw it when it premiered. For those of us who saw it after the first season, it was fun, or at least that's how I felt, and I didn't find it heavy at all like “Break Time.” Final score: 7.0. (Note: since I'm very tolerant of anime, my minimum score for all of them is currently 4).
