By far one of the best animes I've ever seen! Perfect depth in all categories. No, seriously I don't even have a clue why this is on MAL (since it's just a TV ad), but the animation is top notch and I look forward to seeing the movie in all it's glory. I was actually quite surpised by the trailers and the high quality of the PVs and now having this as a TV ad gives you another good glimpse of how good this movie actually looks like/will look like. Might be one of the most amazing animations in years (at least in my opinion). Sadly thisad doesn't reveal anything particularly new about the story, but for that you can watch the normal trailers (also found on MAL, but not with their own entries, lol). And maybe, just maybe I'm going to taste that Suntory water myself whenever I'm in Japan. Because well that's the key player in all of this anyway.
Come on... stop writing about the movie since this is an ad that is mysteriously on MAL... In this review of a 70 seconds long split into 3 epis.... ads..... I'll just talk about the ad then, I guess.... They are tasty, but the flavored ones cost almost the same as your regular soda... Everywhere you go in Japan, supermarkets, convenience stores... Radwimps is playing. Last time you saw a movie hyping this much in Japan was with Frozen, I guess... I'll just type random sentence to make this sufficient.. It wants me to write a longer review which wastes eye strength, lol.
TL;DR: Thirsty for Japanese Mineral Water? Watch this NOW! Not thirsty? Then don’t. From the visionary director of great hits like Byousoku 5 Centimeter, Kotonoha no Niwa and the 2016 blockbuster, Kimi no Na wa, comes an animation that will leave you saying, “OH MY GAWD, why is this even on MAL???” Suntory Minami Alps no Tennen Mizu, directed by Makoto Shinkai, deemed as this decades’, “Miyazaki," presents a visual brilliance in just three 20 seconds burst that will surely quench your undesired thirst. From the story perspective, the plot is brilliant. They say a picture can tell a 1000 words. However, Makoto defiedthat saying by making 20 seconds tell over 1 billion words. How does he achieve this feat? He does it through not one, not two but three 20 seconds worth of video clips. Average directors just stop at one, max they will go to is two, but Makoto showed us why three is the magic number. There isn’t just one main character in this animation. There are TWO. First you have SUNTORY Minami Alps Tennensui Yogurina, which is yogurt-flavored mineral water and juxtaposing that you have SUNTORY Minami Alps Ten'nensui, which is mineral water. Just how complex can this animation get, right? This duality that exists in this animation alludes to the blockbuster movie of 2016 Kimi no Na wa. Both of these mineral water go through tremendous character development and growth that will leave you quenched for years to come. The art, the animation and the music of this show is just beyond normal human being’s capacity. All of them combined create this synesthesia that leaves viewers thirsty. Not just thirsty to drink this mineral water but thirsty to experience one more short blast of 20 seconds in pure bliss. Overall, watching this anime was a blast. It will leave the viewers satisfied and wanting to watch more. Never fear, they can always quench their thirst by flying to Japan and finding these mineral water at the store. I mean if Mitsuha Miyamizu and Taki Tachibana can manage to get their hands on them, why can’t you? Thank you for reading this review, hopefully you found it as helpful as finding water near you!
Not sure why this is on MAL. In fact, I didn't even watch this until I watched the movie, so I guess this didn't turn out the way it was supposed to. To begin with, I'm a massive fan of the movie. I loved every aspect of it, so when I saw this in the related anime below, I decided that I had to see what it was all about because I just NEEDED another taste of this beautiful movie. (However, I'm eager to forget about it a little so that I can watch it again remembering as little as possible :P) To begin with, the so called 'storyline' (like guys... it's really just a commercial) read kinda like the original trailer, so nothing really crazy there. The art, like usual, was simply astounding. Everything was clean, colorful, bright, appealing, and I was able to easily differentiate everything and follow to the focus of the shots. The music in the background was great, along with the voice acting, which was also very well done. All the music felt very fitting. The character, which was not greatly elaborated upon in the movie, wasn't really elaborated on in this either, so I suppose that can't be carped about now. Lastly, I enjoyed these a lot and they pleasantly reminded me of the movie. I would recommend this if you: liked the movie, need more of the movie, like commercials, want to see a minute's worth of gorgeous animation I would NOT recommend this if you: think watching commercials for fun is stupid, you hated the movie Have a great day everyone!
Suntory Minami Alps no Tennensui is only an advert showing off a water brand using the popular anime 'Kimi no Na wa' as the face. Story: 3/10 I adore the Kimi no Na wa. It has such an amazing and telling story. Extremely beautiful. This advert recaptures that amazement I first felt. I would love for a sequel or something else regarding this story. The advert itself only briefly retells the original story, so nothing new really. Art: 10/10 Art, as expected by Makoto Shinkai, is outstanding. Even for an advert (though a lot of scenes were re-used from the movie). The artstyle that Shinkai produces is breathtaking andI can never get enough of it. Amazing. Sound: 9/10 Plays the classic and beautiful song 'Zenzenzense' in the background throughout. One of my absolute favourite anime songs ever produced. That alone makes this score 9/10. The beautiful voice acting of the two main characters just takes the cake. I will forever adore this movie, and its music. Character: 7/10 Was amazing to see Mitsuha and Taki again. Sadly, they did not have that much of a role story-wise. Just retelling what we already know, and mixing in the Suntory water for the advert. Enjoyment: 5/10 While yes, it was amazing to see Kimi no Na wa revisited, however, sadly it only retold what we already knew. Though it had three beautiful 20 second clips involving my favourite characters along with beautiful artwork and songs. Wish that there was a bit more to it, but with an advert, that is obviously not expected. Overall: 6/10 Kimi no Na wa remains one of my all time favourite animes in existence, so this advert was a beautiful revisit to that. I recommend it if you love the anime as I do. If you're watching this advert first however, then please watch the actual anime. A couple hours you will NOT regret!!
This is totally nothing out of the ordinary, just another commercial, related to anime, *weebs intensifying*. It's disgusting really, we're at that stage where we'd consume literally anything if it was marketed the right way. “Suntory Minami Alps no Tennen Mizu” is a collaboration with Suntory and Kimi no Na Wa, obviously aimed at the fans to sale some extra water bottles, it seems on the surface that they tried too much to sell it out, they even adapted some deep symbolism from the movie itself to make some sense out of the 3 related but at the same time different perspective on presenting the same ideathat only becomes full circle at the last episode. It can almost deceive you to giving it somewhat a considerable score, but no, nothing of that makes up for the wast of time it really was.
This is by far the best commercial I have ever seen. And for that reason alone it gets a 10 out of 10 for me. I mean who wouldn't want to buy their product after that amazing commercial. I sure as hell would. If only we had these commercials in America. Nah but really these 3 eps are a good way to get you to appreciate the art of the series and just get you more hyped up in a way for the actual show. If anything the least it does is make you look like you watched more anime than you actually did. Sogo ahead watch it!
Ok, so putting this as a completed anime in MyAnimeList is the literal definition of BILARDISMO (any argentinian will know what I am talking about). In other words, there is no way this counts as anime. I mean, yes, I actually completed it (and in completed section, this has the exact same weight as full One Piece, as they both count as one full series). But... please, no. I can´t understand how anyone thought it would be a great idea. On the other hand, knowing japanese often use anime as a marketing method, this is actually fine as an advertisement. In fact, I wish we hadsome of these in other countries. They work better than some occidental ads. Story: 4.5/10 Art: 8.5/10 Sound: 8/10 Character: 6/10 (it´s a 9 in the movie) Enjoyment: 6/10 Overall: 6/10 Should you watch it? Emm, I mean, IT´S A FUCKING ADVERTISEMENT. But if you have a spare minute, go on :)
