Like many in her class, Koyuki Honda looks forward to her graduation ceremony. However, while her peers have family to attend, Koyuki has no one, as her only family—her brother—died years ago. While visiting his grave, she meets two brothers named Kiri and Victor Putin chasing a strange creature. They try to assure her that they are just actors shooting a movie; Victor, however, piques Koyuki's curiosity about the old legend of the clock tower at the cemetery: if you make a wish under the clock tower at midnight during a full moon, time will turn back, allowing someone to reclaim what they have lost. Deciding to make her wish, Koyuki learns the horrifying truth: the legend is a ruse for time demons called "Horologues" to steal humans' time. As they are drawn to regrets, Victor uses Koyuki as bait to lure a demon there. Kiri and Victor explain that they are Chronos Rulers, warriors who fight against the Horologues using the "Oath of Time"—an item allowing them to speed up or slow down time. With the demon destroyed and the crisis averted, Koyuki is able to go on her way free from regrets. However, she is not the only human with sorrows. The two boys must continue to hunt down Horologues in order to keep humanity safe. [Written by MAL Rewrite]

Jikan no Shihaisha aka Chronos Ruler is over. This show made me mad. It was so rife with plot holes and logic issues from the first episode. Nor did it get better with time. Its characters continued to not make sense and to do things out of character constantly. The only good point about this show is MAYBE the character designs. Even the actions scenes were lackluster. I give this anime a 2 out of 10. Surprisingly, I would recommend this anime to someone who doesn't care about continuity at all. This has been your spoiler free but not really review on Jikan no Shihaisha.
7/10 Why the high rating? Okay it wasn't the best, but I still enjoyed it until the end! Jikan no Shihaisha had its good and bad moments. I'm a sucker for stories dealing with family, especially tragic ones and I think that's one of the main reasons I was drawn to this anime. Tbh, I had high expectations because I felt that the story had a lot of potential, especially after watching the first episode: Tragic Family Background + Ikemen/Bishounen + Time Eating Monsters + Action + Gambling Elements + Jazzy Music/Hyped OP/Beautiful ED ?! Count me in! I even said that it wasgoing to be my favorite anime of the season but, that was in episodes 1-2 ^^; I think my opinion changed after the new characters were introduced. After that, the pacing changed and I felt that maybe they weren't going to be able to resolve everything in just 13 episodes. Maybe it was because there was so much they could do with that amount of episodes, or maybe the manga is just bad, I don't really know. Nonetheless, that wasn't enough of a reason for me to drop it. To me it's either I like it or I don't. If I don't like it then I drop it, simple as that. If I finish an anime until the end, then that means that it was worth my time. Is there better anime out there? Yes. Will you miss out if you don’t watch it? Hmm, not really. Is it worth a try? I think you should try watching a few episodes before deciding whether to keep watching or drop it. If you have the time, then why not? I sometimes end up enjoying anime that most people don't like~ (as you can see from my rating compared to the others hehe) With that said, I will be reading the manga. Maybe, just maybe, the manga will make up for what the anime lacked. ^_^
I'm sure we’ve all done it before. We’ve all wished we could turn back time just to fix something we did, or think twice before walking into something terrible, or otherwise take precautions we wish we would've done in the first place. Tragedy and mortifying actions occur all the time. However, in this reality, we know we can never do so, as much as we wish otherwise. Chronos Ruler is a look into a fictional consequence that can come about of this wish, and it's borderline depressing, less so for the grim reminder and bittersweet message, but more so for the lack of quality in itswriting. That's not to say this concept is entirely easy to do well, in fact, as I'll demonstrate later, it's very easy to screw up, it's just that it definitely loses balance on that tightrope rather fast and spends the rest of its time plummeting while grasping. I know I'm a bit late with this one, so if you don't have the time to read, that's understandable, if regrettable. With all that said, let’s dive right in, shall we? S: 2:10 AM When it comes to stories involving the manipulation of time (especially when that's the main focus), an insane amount of detail is required. Time is in and of itself, something that while manipulative, is still not something that can be broken or contradicted. Therefore, when it comes to stories like this, the devil is in the details, and when you mix other paranormal things into it, there’s a lot you have to explain that way everything makes sense. Not only is there the how and why like with most stories, but especially in this particular case, to what extent. It's very easy to screw this vital step up, as the series demonstrates. I'm aware that I'm saying an absolute and that rarely is a storytelling “rule” absolute but well, not every rule has to have an exception. Let me give you an example of this show’s failings, or rather two side by side: In episodes 1 and 2, there’s a huge disparity in the amount of Horologues present in episode 1 with the clock tower rumor compared to the 8 times that amount present when one man willows in the streets over his life being ruined by gambling. Why does one cause more of these things to spawn than the other? How does this all work and how can they all absorb his time at once at this rate? What is the extent that these will appear and what scenarios cause more or less to appear? The show doesn't answer any of this. It's too busy playing with time for admittedly inventive and interesting attacks and effects, as well as using that for convoluted character drama that falls flat due to how ravaged the narrative is by stuff like this. You can apply some of this to multiple scenarios in the show, like with Mrs. Emily’s time being reverted in episode 1 and how it really speeds up way too much between the time she left a how to the time she died by comparison to literally everything else beforehand. You will not believe how many times you can do this and what it does to the narrative (less than 10 but still way too many), it's that bad. Another thing that sinks this show (not as hard mind you) is the forced comedy tone shifts. What is it with both manga and their adaptations in particular that do this? Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood did it, Fairy Tail did it, Drifters did it, I mean come on! It's always jarring and distracting. I get that sometimes we need to lighten the mood and that it's realistic to try but even still, they never handle it right. It is always very abrupt and shifts from one emotional extreme to another. It's not as egregious as Drifters with this, but it's able as constant with it, which is a real pain since it's going from drama to slapstick in a instant; that does not work. Regardless, it's clear from all of this that the narrative of Chronos Ruler is a mess. That's putting it lightly. This isn't even covering the other holes, asspulls, and contradictions heavily present in the narrative with the way the Chronos organization is constructed and so many moments filled with these things, but I honestly don't have the patience to try. It does manage to make sense on occasion and use its interesting concepts to interesting and good effect, by it's surrounded in the slime of what I mentioned earlier. That being said, this show does try. It tries really hard. It wants nothing more than to be a good, poignant show, and in some cases, like the actually pretty good episodes 8 and 12 (less so everything in between), and the buildup to and emotional climax of both, it actually succeeds. It shows just how deep regret can be, how people can be so awful to those who care for them and still mourn them and regret everything once those people are gone. It explores how those loving ones feel about their children who don't appreciate them at all. If nothing else, this show succeeds brilliantly at showing all of that. It shows the potential this show had of being great, when it can pull this off so well. To bad it had to shoot its foot so much early on, because now we can't fix that. C: 4:10 AM The cast in and of itself isn't really terrible per se. For most part, they're just rather meh beyond some truly bleh archetypal villain characters. The main characters are exceedingly childish though, which is aggravating. Not to mention that they're pretty comfortable in their typical character roles for most part, such as “girl” and “dumb brute”. Next to no one is particularly well written, which is a shame since some come close. Victor becomes a surprisingly good character in the second half of the show with his particular hang-ups. The antagonist that truly reveals himself in episode 10 is interesting as well, trying to find out why humans are so weird and capable of doing things that go against what he thinks are their personalities and morals. These were executed sort of well, so the fact that the cast is otherwise pretty bad is a letdown. Mina is especially repetitive with her “darling” shtick and so is her and Victor’s shtick of mocking Kiri for being a virgin. The running gags here suck and they hinder the already poorly written characters, as if the fact they they constantly beat us over the head with their shtick and this show’s themes didn't do that already. A: 3:10 PM Project No.9 was in charge of this show’s production, and they did not do very well here. By 2017 standards, the art looks decent overall despite some brilliant moments here and there. Character models are not always consistent and neither is the overall art quality. Animation-wise, it fares little better. The fights look ok at best despite the interesting powers at play. Unfortunately, they cannot always composite the characters well enough to the backgrounds because on rare occasions, they do a hideous job with the backgrounds during movement. The CGI makes that even worse. Honestly, the CGI kills any chance of the production values aspect being good. The CGI plane in episode 7 looks horrendous, the crazy Horologues are sometimes rendered in weird CGI that does not work at all in this context, and when they use cards or especially debris as CGI assets, and trying to play around with backgrounds in CGI for dynamic camera movement in fight scenes works about as horrendously as you'd expect, and it give me flashbacks to a series that will continually haunt me. Shame since the OP visuals look striking and visually ambitious and interesting, and without too much motion, the show can often look ok. Alas, this is what this show leaves us with at this current time of televised release, and it is not pretty. S: 6:10 PM The OST is weird. The tracks are often repeated ad nauseam and in many cases, they wouldn't fit. However, sometimes the tracks were actually good and worked well with the scenes. It's a similar case to the Big Order OST (especially with the jazz stuff that seldom fits), except this doesn't have a real standout track. The OP, "RULER GAME" by Fo'xTails, is a pretty good OP and the standout piece of music for the show. It is fun and catchy, getting you pumped for the admittedly weak at best journey ahead. The ED, "Jikan wa Mado no Mukougawa (時間は窓の向こう側)" by Nagi Yanagi, is as weird as the OST. I am not a fan of the first half but the second half is pretty decent all things considered and made an especially good send off to episode 1. Lastly, the track "One More" by Tea, in episode 12, which plays in the best moment of the show, is a brilliant emotional piece, far better than the rest of the OST in the show. The music in this show is overall a mixed bag, and given how it was great at times, that's a real shame. E: 5:10 AM This was a weird experience to be sure. It was often mildly annoying and its constant holes and asspulls got on my nerves. However, that Halle's me celebrate even more when the show manages to do something right with a twist or a particular plot point. It was a mediocre time all around with everything else leaving little effect on me on the whole. Regardless, this is one I cannot safely say I enjoyed too much despite a few great moments and an all around superior second half. O: 4:10 PM RAW SCORE: 38/100 There is a good show buried underneath this. There really is. It's a shame that it undercuts itself with a lot of stupid decisions early on that poison the series as a whole, because this was definitely trying to be a worthwhile show. The feel of it is comparable to Big Order and Hand Shakers, but let it be known that it is nowhere near as awful as those to shows at all, not in any department. Regardless, I would not recommend this show to people unless they really find the concept interesting and don't care too much about blatantly bad storytelling. It's some sort of tragic irony that it ends up in a desperately poor state due to stupid decisions that led it down the wrong path, just like many of the grieving characters in this show that wish for their time back. Regardless, it's time we look to the future with even better (or worse) anime headed our way. With all that said, I bid you adieu.
Alright, I'm going to try and write this as spoiler free as possible, and break it down in the categories MAL offers. Story: 3/10 - The story had a great premise, something similar to D. Gray Man almost. These Chronos Rulers, fight time-eating demons, and there's an overarching plot of getting one character's time back. Sounds great right? Unfortunately, the story lived up to that premise for only the first episode. The rest of the series was a lightning flashforward rush to get to the main point. I think if this series had been 24 episodes, had more interactions like we saw in the first episode,it might have come off a lot better. Instead, we got this sloppy mess where it seems like they tried to hit the fast forward button to get to the 'big points' without filling the plot holes and confusing bits in-between. Art: 8/10 - I enjoyed the quality of the art. It was very pretty, and there was clearly a great deal of work put into it. It's one of the redeeming qualities of the show, but not THE redeeming quality. Sound: 10/10 - Oh wow, the soundtrack was amazing! I love the ending song, as well as the music through out the entire series. It was all very jazzy and snazzy. Bad rhyming aside, this was the only area I have no complaints for. Character: 3/10 - Character development? What character development? - I think that alone is pretty self-explanatory. Enjoyment: 4/10 - I really just enjoyed the art and the music. The story line was so confusing it sucked. I was disappointed because the premise seemed really good. Overall: 5/10 - If we lump everything together, it's really just an 'okay' show. There's nothing particularly special about it, it doesn't really stand out, it's just okay.
If I were to try and describe Jikan no Shihaisha, I would say it's your standard battle shounen story executed very poorly. The story was more poorly written than what had expected it would be. Sometimes shounen don't necessarily need an excellent story to be entertaining however it's hard to put the story of this anime to the back of your mind when it sticks out like an eyesore. It's not even like the story is the worse thing about the show, the main reason why it's not enjoyable is the characters. Jikan no Shihaisha has some of the most annoying characters I have seenin quite some time. A special mention to Mina Putin for being the most annoying out of the bunch. For as bad as the story and characters were, the show was actually well produced. The art, animation and soundtrack were all very well done and made my watching experience slightly better. I still think however that it would be best to save yourself the trouble and stay away from Jikan no Shihaisha.
I gave this a fair rating because i enjoyed the music and how the characters looked in this anime. that being said the plot and other parts of the story should be fixed. but overall is an Ok anime for me. that being said also it's still your run of a mill anime standard and plain. the series really needs a big fixing there. But like i said its still good. And i commend the people who worked on this anime. Because it's not easy making an anime show. that fits with everyone's standards as a whole. i don't know what else to say in thisreview. I'm not good with English sorry if i misspelled some words here and there.
First I'll start off by saying im not sure why this series garnered such bad reviews and low scores. Maybe it was something lost in the original sub i myself watched it in the dub version so maybe they fixed alot of the issues that the original viewers found with it. But personally ive watched alot of crappy anime and this is far from that. It has an original idea and presents it in a decent fashion. My advice to anyone on the fence go ahead and give it a try yeah sure there are some slow parts but overall the show is good anddeserves a second season.
Favored namesake non-withstanding I found Chronos Ruler to be enjoyable despite it's short comings in character depth and plot. Let me begin by saying I absolutely love the music in this show and could watch it over and over again based on that facet alone. The Jazzy rifts in episode aren't like any other anime I've watched yet. The opening has it's hard edge but breaks down into the same jazzy notes and the ending is simply beautiful. I like the color palette used and for the most part the art overall is very good in my opinion. The fight scenes with cards are capturedwell not quite sure if they were pure cgi or not but they stood out in a good way. The characters were all stock for the most part and some of the lines were pretty terrible with that said the story itself wasn't earth shattering either. The first episode left me on a cliff hanger that I thought would be built on a bit more substantially. The villains one after another come off as generic with their motivations. Some emotion is still elicited from their background stories at times so it's not all for naught. Their is a bit more character development near the end of the season and makes for some touching moments. The character interactions are filled with humor at times and others make little sense. I watched the dubbed version of this first and am currently viewing the subbed version, so if I feel there's a significant difference. Especially in some of the cliché lines I may update this. Overall though the music and animation made this worth the watch and I'm definitely seeking out this OST if it's ever available.
To quickly resume jikan no shihaisha: Waste of time. It's quite unusual for me to be upset while watching a serie, but each week, jikan no shihaisha never stopped to amaze me. The most irritating was the relation between Mina and Kiri, what is the meaning of this ? What was the point to annihilate the mother figure ? These incessant injuries towards her own son. Disappointing, but quite representative of these 13 episodes. I'm also still trying to understand the utility of Blaze, except being stupid and worsen my patience towards Chronos Ruler. Speaking of weak characters, Snake (Big Boss ?) was quite disturbing andon a whole next level, but well my interest for this serie was already quite low when he was introduced so I guess it's just to bring some humor through "school uniforms". I can only advise you to stay away from this serie.
This is my first time to write review, and I don't know why I choose this anime to do so. This review is absolutely free from any kinds of spoilers, unless you think advice on how bad this anime was a spoiler. Okay. let's start from animation, it was good, the magical circle, power effect, battle and power explanation were good. For story, well, the animation was good! How about sound? I said the animation was good, wasn't I? Enough joking, this is my real opinion for this anime. It worth to watch....for once only, and obviously I wouldn't want to watch it twice. (Although I would liketo recommend you guys to skip this anime but if you want to feel the same dreadful feeling I felt while watching this anime, you are welcome to do so.) Besides animation, sound, character development, story, and everything else were so bad that it pull me out from anime world into real world. There wasn't any good character development, side kicks being there just for comedy purpose, the main heroine was annoying as hell. The only savior for this anime is animation, it was good compared to other animation out there. Background music were terrible, I don't feel it was memorable or what, opening and ending are both okay. Depends whether you like the genre or not. Bottom line: I wouldn't recommend this anime, but if you are intrigued to know how bad it is (the only reason I start to watch this anime). you are welcome to do so.
Lifeless. It’s one of the first of the first words that comes in mind then I´m thinking back at “Jikan no Shihaisha” (Chronos Ruler). Even when what should´ve been emotional moments were presented, I still sat there and felt… not much at all. “Jikan no Shihaisha” take a very used concept, and tries to make it feel original and deep. It´s pretty much a basic shounen, action, super-power piece, with friends and family on a quest to saving the world and themselves. You know, they beat strong enemies, because their conviction and will are so much stronger than their opponents, they are stronger because theyhave each other´s back even if they fight amongst themselves, and they have a tonne of secret attacks up their sleeves for convenient use against a ridiculously strong enemy. But it doesn´t work for me. Maybe I have seen to many shows with the same concept and structure, and many of those shows just does it better. They really try to make the show stand out with the time-control-absorbing angle, but in the end its just as all other shounen shows out there. I, as a true fan of action anime, barely felt any excitement or tension when the action occurred, it felt lifeless and empty, without any genuine feeling behind it, and were overall poorly executed. And don´t start me on the Uryuu Ishida rip-off. One of the main characters, Kiri Putin, are a direct and not so well-done copy of Uryuu, everything from the outward appearance, the personality, and fighting tactics. All of you that have watched Bleach will know what I mean. And Blaze have way too many traits common with Natsu Dragneel from Fairy Tail to feel like his own character. And of course, it´s a loli-dandere present, who puts the protagonist on his high pedestal. So, now that I´m finished with my whining, let´s look at this a little more objective. The show actually starts of pretty decent, with introducing the main cast and story in a classic manor. We get to know the concept of their world, mainly focused on the time-stealing demons, how their time and elemental powers work, and why they fight those demons. But after that, it pretty much goes downhill. Sad past background stories about the characters are put in here and there, to make us feel with their mission and lay some weight behind the fights. Again, this didn´t work for me, it failed to convey me those emotions. The drama and emotional conversations are given much attention in one episode, are left to fade out, and in the end not being that important at all. Some to large plot holes can´t be ignored either, not when they put so much weight on just those circumstances. Don´t get me wrong, the story isn´t totally shit or boring, it just has been seen and done so many times. So, if you are new to anime, you might have a completely different opinion about it. And in the attempts to make the plot deeper, and a give streak of mystic to it, the story just feels cloudy. A bit all-over the place, without any real substance. The pacing is even pretty doe, and doesn´t neither rush the story or slow it down. The characters haven´t just been seen and done before in some manner, but in so much better ways. The on the surface cool and carefree, handsome old-but-young-looking guy, who is full of regrets and doubts on the inside. The madly in love loli-dandere, who are serving us bad panty shots. The Uryuu copy and the Natsu copy, speaks for themselves, they have been done before, and so much better. And even with tragic background stories, personal connections, and pronounced personalities, the result feels hollow. Like pretty gift boxes with fancy wrapping, and when you open it, it’s a pair of cheap socks. The art and animation isn´t anything mind-baffling, it´s looks ok for 2017 standards. The action scenes are mediocre at best, and leave no heavy impact visually or emotionally. The quality from scene to scene can also vary a lot. Some scenes are detailed and all-over pretty decent, whilst other can look close to sloppy, with limbs that aren´t really proportional, or lazy colouring. The soundtrack, OP and ED are the highlights of “Jikan no Shihaisha”, they are actually quite good. With the opening being the main treat of the whole show, it lures you to believe that you actually are going to watch something rather good, emotional, and badass. But it´s a trick. A nice trick, but never the less a trick. So, did I enjoy “Jikan no Shihaisha”? Not especially much, it wasn´t super bad, or irritating, or horrible. Just, bland, empty, uninspired, and lifeless in my eyes. It had some potential to make an interesting angle of a very used concept, but choose to walk the same path as so many before it. I don´t know if they just where lazy, and thought that this kind of show can sell forever, or if they really thought this was the real stuff. Either way, the show didn´t manage to capture me, not even close. I don´t regret watching it either, all anime gives me perspective, and if they in some way can allure me to write about them, at least they have managed to give me something. Hopefully you now know if “Jikan no Shihaisha” is a show for you, or if you just dodged a time-thief (yeah, pun intended).
Nothing about Chronos Ruler works or is even remotely interesting. Generally, I have a long-winded and over-analyzed opening introspective on even the lamest anime I review, but I feel it's much better to cut to the chase with this one. It's a Frankenstein's Monster of overdone anime tropes, concepts, humor, tone, and personalities that have been done over and over while providing nothing resembling a single original thought of its own. Chronos Ruler is the festering junkie with halitosis and three undiscovered types of hepatitis waiting behind dumpsters at night to rummage through whatever ideas haven't been used recently by better shows. STORY: Theonly reason I can imagine this idea got greenlit in the first place is because studios are so desperate for a hit is in this age of parity, any panicky, struggling hack writer with a deadline can hastily scribble bullet-points on a Post-It note, submit it to one of the 4,259 studios that are stacked atop each other in Japan, and it'll be regurgitated onto television to fill a time slot. In this instance, Chronos Ruler's origins began when "White-haired card wielding, red clad protag, short-skirted loli who kicks high, and Full Metal Alchemist" was written on a napkin in ketchup and submitted. Given the pacing, it doesn't even pretend that this synopsis is completely phoned in. Very much like Dream Eater Merry, it hopes you're deluded by jargon to ignore that it's a formulaic monster-of-the-week format with faux importance purposely shrouded in mystery to make up for it not being interesting in the first place. The monsters, which I'm just going to refer to as the Hollows in Bleach (or the Yoma in Claymore), because that's what they are, eat time. The Chronos Rulers, who are FMA's alchemist military (or demon hunters in Blue Exorcist), are charged with hunting them down to restore any offsetting damage they may cause by devouring time, like the Shadows in the Persona series or the demons in D-Gray Man. Victor is a cool, smarmy hero who's laid back on the surface as so his suave demeanor doesn't expose how much he struggles to overcome his soul crushing shortcomings and his odds of letting those around him down. It's borrowed every outdated template under the sun and winds up looking like a dad trying to be hip in front of teenagers. There's no upswing, sense of purpose, and most of the run time for each episode is devoted to lame jokes based on the one aspect of the cookie-cutter personalities. Even its finale felt more like it exceeded its stand-up act and tacked on a room temperature three-parter with an antagonist it pulled out of thin air to stumble across the finish line. SCORE: 2 PATHETIC ART: Chronos Ruler, like a lot of shows I've seen, looks cheap and slapdashed together in short succession. The CGI doesn't blend properly with the choppy frame rate the cel animation moves at, and during action sequences it looks like cut scenes from a mid generation PlayStation 2 game at best. The character designs are regurgitated templates that have been done to death. Victor Putin obnoxiously wears his white lab coat off his shoulders and it magically dangles around his biceps so you can get a good look at how red his shirt is (because anime). His son Kiri is clad mostly in black and is any given brooding edgelord swordsman. If you chewed up Sebastian Michaelis halfway through a wood chipper and gave him a water-based Zanpakuto, he's what you get. Mina, the lead female, is centuries old, but she hasn't physically aged past 14 (again, because anime). Her one giant ponytail off to the side just annoys me. They all look like they don't fit with wherever the hell this is supposed to take place. It's modern day, but wants badly to be a steampunk set piece. It's awful. SCORE: 3 POOR SOUND & MUSIC: The English dub is provided by Funimation, and I guess this is the strongest point of Chronos Ruler. It's far from impressive, none of the performance really stand out in a positive or negative manner. It's the same factory produced voice work Funi has been doing since ADV closed its doors, now all the talent just sounds interchangeable. The musical scores are very free flow jazz centric. It's not bad, if a out of place. In the midst of a fight, it begins to speed up and seems like the horn section is making a run for it after drinking a Red Bull. Chronos Ruler calls for a more somber and orchestrative score, not Marvel vs Capcom 2. I also never caught myself humming opening or closing theme. Maybe that's minute, but that matters to me. SCORE: 4 BELOW AVERAGE CHARACTERS: I really miss Re:Creators. I went from delving into works of fiction gaining three dimensional personalities to these cut-and-paste chuckleheads (and I have way more hyphen fused adjectives, I'll never run out of those) they are bottom of the basement dreadful. The four central characters, Victor, his son Kiri, his wife, Mina, and Blaze (a fire user, if that name wasn't subtle enough. I wonder which lucky 10 year old tyke won the Pretz Design A Chronos Ruler Sweepstakes) are devoid of chemistry and intrigue. Mina's technically the most interesting character because of her direct ties to the Chronos bloodline (and how a woman that petite managed to give birth to a baby without exploding from traction), but it's treated with all the care and attention of a parcel package labeled FRAGILE and serves only to explain how she's virtually indestructible. Screen time is devoted to making all of them as annoying as possible, because they won't stop quipping or throwing hamfisted insults at each other. "I'm not going to listen to a virgin!" Victor: "Hey, we can't pick up chicks here!" Kiri: "C'mon, be serious for a change!!" Blaze: "That's the saddest story ever! You're my new little brother!! Kiri: "Uuuuggh, no I'm not! What's the matter with you!" .........Please laugh. We swear, it's funny. SCORE: 2 PATHETIC IN CLOSING: I often say if I feel a work is aiming to be an outlier, give me a B- and up or give me an F. A title like this colors way too inside the lines and is so safely average that it's worse than it actually is. Or if this does tickle your fancy, then I will assume it's among someone's first anime and you have to start somewhere. Chronos Ruler brings absolutely nothing new to the table and even the microwaved leftovers hit their expiration date in 2009. It's derivative, insultingly pedestrian, underwhelming in every category, and hopes the lazy smoke & mirrors act will fishhook unsavvy people into continuing the story in the manga. OVERALL SCORE: 3 PROS: None. I can't think of one single thing this does that's noteworthy CONS: Chronos Ruler will kill you faster than eating KFC regularly
