"Oh dear, this'll be a long one" That's was my exact reaction after watching the first episode of Evil or Live. A show that was misunderstood at first, as the tag of horror confused a lot of people, me included. But in reality, it doesn't really matter. Evil or Live is a shitshow no matter from which angle you look. Suprisingly enough, the overall story isn't really that bad, atleast in comparison to other aspects of the show. We are introduced into a world, where internet addiction became a common disease for the young population. Hence, a new "treatment" school is founded, and nerds with thementioned addiction are sent there. Sadly enough, the school doesn't turn out the way people imagined. Excersicing under tough circumstances several hours a day, receiving food that tastes like shit, being scolded by the instructors. You name it! The school is as fucked up as it could possibly be, but even then, everyone would like to rule it. If it's either the students or the instructors, everybody is in need of power. And that is the main premise of the story. Now actually the story might sound not appealing from my description of it, however it still is the best part this anime has. It has it's decent moments, but overall still has many plotholes as well as pacing problems. And even writing problems, but more about that in the character department. The whole premise of a fucked up school system doesn't sound that bad and some of the characters actually have decent back-stories around themselves. As you come along, you'll learn that not just this school, but the whole world is a little off. Maybe getting a little edgy at times, I certainly call this darker side of this show a good thing. It has it's own share ammount of problems, but the main ones lie outside of the story itself, hence in the end this is the one category I can call (atleast) decent. So you wanna know something about these other categories, you say? Well then wait no more, because up from this moment my ultimate shit fest has begun. And I mean it. I won't hold myself back. Characters.... Oh god, this could be a review all for itself. Let's start with a little banter. "And the award for the worst MC in the history of anime goes to.." yes, you guessed it. It goes to Hibiki, the main character of Evil or Live. I actually wonder how did anybody write such a terrible character. No honestly, like how? He starts off as the biggest freak ever, thinking the school is only a videogame. Fair enough. Then he proceeds to act like a hero and starts protecting everyone. Great. Then he gets beaten up, so his personality makes a 180 turn around and he is suddenly the strongest, smartest and most-athletic guy on the campus, despite sitting behind his PC 24/7 before he got there. Spectacular. Now honestly, does that sound appealing? Nah? I don't blame you. Even at the start when you think he can't get more annoying, with every one of his personality changes, it gets ever worse. That guy seriously won a battle against 20 guys all on his own, even though he got beaten up by just one fellow an hour earlier. As I was watching, I was constantly asking myself: What the heck? Did anyone even read the freaking script?... Just for the record, after his change Hibiki goes back into his I'll protect everyone kind of thing, then he get's beaten up again and then he becomes badass again..... Do I fucking need to say more?? I would like to cool my head a little, but there are some other characters too, so I better forget about that. Anyway, despite the rest of the cast being atleast better than Hibiki, it's nothing to write home about. Everybody, even the instructors, is dumb, almost every character is written horribly and there are even some who seem like they were supposed to be in a different anime. They look dumb, they act dumb, they believe everything some random guy says and most of them are just straight up annoying. And those who are not aren't helping the story in any way. Nobody has an IQ of more than 80 and they fall even for the most obvious baits. There is one exception tho, and that is Shin. Once and for all a decently made dude with an actual brain to support his head. Just one isn't enough to save this however and the overall grade won't increase even though I can call him a good one. #freeShin The art is... shit? Yeah, that's the right word. Lackluster in every single way, from unapealing and forgettable character desings to bad looking backgrounds to absolutely hilarous overall animation, especially when it came down to action moments. Voice acting and sound-effects are just horrible and the OST has like what, one decent track? I just feel like somebody is joking with me, what am I supposed to say about enjoyment? The whole thing just sucks. It was the first time in my history of watching anime that I was purposelly skipping certain scenes, purely because I just couldn't control my anger anymore. That's how bad this thing was. That's how bad Hibiki was. And that's how bad the studio that made this is. Now for the sake of it, yes, the whole idea of Evil or Live isn't that bad. But what about it? When a show does absolutelly nothing to support that idea, what do you expect? At the start, I expected something, but I got absolutelly nothing... --------- If you're coming into Evil or Live with a mindset of "I might like this", please face the reality straight away. It's greatest case of the decent idea, terrible execution kind of thing. And I'm begging you, the decent idea isn't worth the pain you have to go through. Honestly, if you have eyes and a bit of critisism in yourself, you know this show is as shit as it could possibly be. End of story.
This is my very first review and the reason I am writing this is because of the low score this anime has, even though it's actually very enjoyable. While this anime has a very low budget, which can be seen by the real life images used for props and such, I find the anime itself very enjoyable. Character's movement can be awkward at times and effects aren't all that great, but it is very watchable and excusable since the anime is a great one in my opinion. The story is quite good and it makes you want to know more, although the ending felt a littlerushed and I wanted to know a little bit more before it ended. But that doesn't mean it's not worth watching. I'd say give this anime a try, despite the low score it has on MAL, I found it very entertaining and that is what it is all about after all, not the animation quality.
I came into this anime with open eyes; but honestly, it's not that good. (It's horrible) Story 4: Overall, the story is a little better than the common hero saves someone. The plot is unique, but you'll likely be unable to immerse yourself into the story due to the horrible execution. Art 3: Art is just a joke. Obvious frame shifts, poor movement, etc. all make the anime a cringe-fest to watch. The animators seemed to not care at all when trying to find shortcuts and just taped a bunch of pictures together for the animation instead. Sound 2: The characters laughs, grunts, voices, their everything just sucks. Itsounds like they were still practicing on what each sound had to be; but, ran out of time. Character 3: Just a bunch of poorly developed characters you'll form no attachment to. At this point the major plot change happened for the main character, and it still is extremely stupid. 50% of the time the characters are moping, 25% laughing, 25% getting beat up randomly (no addition to actual plot). Enjoyment & Overall 3 Honestly, even though the execution is horrible, the story itself is unique. I would never recommend this to anyone unless they have nothing better to do.
Evil or Live has ended this season. I do not hesitate to say this is THE worst show of this fall season. Its strange to think I somewhat enjoyed this show. This show is about a shitty kid with internet addiction who gets sent off to a school in the middle of no where. In this school, the kids are treated harshly with multiple public beatings every day. There is a lot of corruption and schemes everywhere. From drug trafficking to sexual abuse, its all very edgy. Now, this show has no positive characteristics. Absolutely nothing about this show was good. The animation is choppy, the music is almost non-existent and when it is its garbage and doesn't fit, characters are dumb and bland, ass pulls everywhere the eye can see, and even the most basic sound effects aren't done correctly. I enjoyed this show despite its mistake of existing, because of how bad it was. Evil or Live is the representation of being so bad, that its good. I especially enjoyed how the main character changed completely half way through the show for apparently no reason or for a reason that shouldn't be enough for this kid, who is addicted to the internet, to be a badass. I give this show a 2 out of 10. I'd recommend this to someone who just wants to laugh at a bad show. This has been your spoiler free but not really review on Evil Or Live.
This series is a masterpece by Chinese standards and proof China is catching up in the anime-industry. It being a low-budget anime, it should be judged accordingly as it would be unfair to pit it up against high-budget anime to make a comparison. Which lead me to give it a score of 10, as judging fairly, they have done an excellent job with the ressources they had. Story - 10 To understand this anime, and appreciate it, you have to understand that it is based on real events that happent in China. Where facilities were opened to rehabilitate internet-addicted students, that led in some cases to abuse and suicide, creating a scandal and leading to the shut down of this rehabilitation system. This anime illustrates these events throughout a fictional story, with a dose of reality that apparently the majority of community couldn't learn to accept. The story tackles with many real-life issues that only a mature mind will come to understand, such as domestic abuse, the paradox of a hard-working man who does not have time for family, the fragile relationship between parents and children in the modern world, human thirst for power, and so forth. To be able to tackle with so many subjects under 12 episodes is truly astounishing, it shows that this anime exists not for entertainment purposes, but for educational and reflectional purposes, which is why I give it a 10. It is truly a hidden gem among the generic animes that pop up nowadays that have no message behind them. Art - 10 This is Chinese anime, and the art is very good. They managed to mix the eye-candy of the Japanese anime industry with the realistic anatomy of the Chinese anime industry. Which is a good step for the Chinese animation to follow. Sound - 10 The OST is perfect and adds to the atmosphere. The Japanese character voice acting is very well done, even minor characters are properly voiced; and as for main characters, you can tell their feelings whenever they speak. Character - 10 The characters follow their script, there are no inconsistencies. The main character develops realistically, he gets his act together only to lose it in the next. He makes mistakes and rectifies them, then makes other mistakes and rectifies them. It shows he is human. You can feel for him and sympathize with him but also hate him or love him. You can be in awe of him or pity him. Which is what a good character should do. Enjoyment - 10 The plot is executed well enough to offer confusion but also peek your interest, you might wonder where is this going but there are hints for you to follow that make you interesting in finding out more. The story is not disclosed, but the events are well-executed. There is no linear plot, anything can happen, which makes you interested in finding out more. And everything makes sense in the end. Overall - 10 Very good anime, by Chinese standarts. The animation is sloppy due to low-budget, but you can't blame them as they have done the best they could do. This studio deserves praise, they created a hidden gem with low budget.
even in this shitty anime it perfectly shows discrimination against men, unequal treatment and different countries and everyday activities. fucking students for over 24 hours and no one has bruises, everyone can walk and smile, no fractures, not enough blood for such injuries, hibiki is just a dick for pissing and cucuckold is a bit shitty overall. the story is incoherent and illogical, simply for children so that the hero always wins no words about it, it's just poor, best watched at x2 speed and forget about this their whole problem is based on phones, one loses the other, even though they cannot be used normally. everythingis completely bullshit
Story: A great story, something different from the usual anime you see...shame there's zero plot involved and what is there is confusing and muddled up. In the end, we get more questions then answers. No idea if they mean to give this another season or not but as it stands right now, that's not a great way to end an anime. Art: Decent and pretty at times. Some of the characters looked very nice while others looked just...weird (Ban and Hyo stand out as looking really weird). The school looks dull but that's to be expected as it's setting. Nature outside the school is pretty. Theonly parts I have issues with are the 3Dish models like in the last episode the elevator (jarring to have a 3D model in a flat anime) and the fire effects (looked horrible). Sound: Decent, nothing to say here. Characters: Oh geez, this is where it really falls flat. The characters are unlikeable and the one or two that you seem interested in get no ending to their story...we don't get to find out what happens to them! Why get invested at all?! Enjoyment: If there was actual plot involved and we learned what happened to everyone in the end...and they answered some big questions...my score would be higher. The characters again are bad (some good) but I could live with them if I got some of my questions answered! Overall: An interesting anime that started off well but fizzled out with lack of any understandable plot and more questions then answers. As others have said and pointed out...this is not a horror anime. Don't go into this looking for horror as I did. I stuck with it because of the interesting idea of a prison school for people who are addicted to the internet/gaming but...horror fans, be prepared to be let down. There is violence and blood but gore isn't really a thing here. So again, if you're into gore, probably not going to get your fix here.
Good idea, bad execution. You could call this a modern teenage "Shawshank Redemption". The story is interesting and the characters had a good start. The build up falls flat around the later middle though and the ending leaves loose ends in sideplots it had specially put emphasis just an episode before. The animation quality has to be overlooked for enjoyment; it's enough to make the point, but is at the edge of what I would call professional. It feels like there was a good idea and spirit behind this series, but the team behind it was to little or unexperienced and started to fall apart towards theend. I still enjoyed watching it for the former reason, though with little motivation reaching the end.
For this low budget anime, I will use a different rating system. A. Story - Character: "Net Addiction" is so popular, it even appears on literature exam. But do we discuss it? No. Did any anime has done with this core idea before? No. So it's a very fresh and original. Something we might think but never too deep. Pretty predictable it has psychological which mean sure good content with mindbreak, fighting, control, smash or pass,... Very looking forward to. So the more you watch, the more you know about what's happening (it likes playing "The Nonary Game" and you got all the bad ends first before thetrue end). I think they were in a rush so 3 last eps really hard to track what's going on. I don't want to take a re-watch so please watch these 3 carefully. The characters are well drawn, well developed with all that background. Safe spoiler (it has "school" tag): to construct huge amount of students and teachers take so much effort. I appreciate this. Score: 8-7 B. Art - Animation: Some people have the misconception here. The art itself is good (typical), but the animation doesn't. Sometimes it was like reading a visual novel with thick line cover the character and a background; sometimes it was like the player stop loading with 1 frame per (few) second(s); only some big keyframes have 24-60FPS. Otherwise, it's lagging (~12FPS). Score: 7-4 C. Sound: - Voice actor: The voice for each character is good, it fits well with their personality. But like I said, the animation was bad, so sure they have problems with timing and character mouth synchronization. Sometimes you might feel annoying and ask if the sound was slower than the video. - Sound effect: It isn't Inuyashiki with high-class 5 layers gun sound. Everything is just fine. - OST: 2m27s for OP (content re-intro + 1'30 music) and I always skipped ED so yeah. I didn't remember if I heard any background music so probably they're normal. Did I forget something? D. Enjoyment: First 3 episode: so cringed due to bad animation. Had to pause millions time to make overreactions. The rest: get used to it. Laugh at some dumb line. Zero thought about anything. Oh, I forgot to score C section. Overall It's just about the animation problems. There're moments when I can pause the video, imagine some choices appear on the screen and I make a save point before continuing. So I believe it was a sure success for them to transfer to visual novel rather than anime. It's that good. But anime? No. Score: (A+B+C+(D/2))/4+0.25(if D=<5)+* No, get that formula out. 7? ... Nah 6 - Fair enough
So despite my bad rating of it, I actually liked this series and would argue it's fairly good. Why? I like edgy things, when I say edgy I mean 2012 deviant kind of edgy. Now to someone looking for something that is critically good, you wont find it here, the story isn't beautiful or meaningful, the animation is literal trash and the voice acting/soundtrack is non-existent. (I watched it without the sound on, and if you decide to watch this I'd recommend doing that too.) If you are here for something a lot more dark, and gritty, to a point it is un-realistic and disgustingto an extent, this is where to find it! I rarely find anime's which are this dark that also have actually have happy endings or at least, give satisfying results. Horribly stupid and depressing things happen, and the characters actually over-come them rather then just, wallowing in sadness or making it into a sob story. So I say this is more based on what you are expecting walking into this anime, if you're here for the gritty edgy stupidity with over-all satisfaction and happy endings, go for it. If you are here for some high-quality good anime, leave, like now, you'll just hate it. ANOTHER REMINDER WATCH THIS WITHOUT THE SOUND ON AND TRY NOT TO FOCUS ON THE ANIMATION!
Potential Spoilers. I didn’t really think about this review before I started writing it, so this review may not actually contain any spoilers, but then again it might, so I put a warning just in case. I just finished the last episode about 10 minutes before writing this review. I’ve read a few of the others and personally I have no clue what the people who are rating this show 7+ are talking about or how they could think it’s that good. At the same time everyone who rated this show a 2 or a 1, I think that’s a bit harsh. But reviews are opinions, andeveryone is entitled to them. Personally, I found this show to be very lacking in a number of ways, BUT I will say that although the story is very flawed, it was also strangely interesting. I didn’t particularly enjoy the show, but after every episode I wanted to keep going just to see what would happen. So for that reason I can’t say it was a terrible show. Breaking things down a bit: PROS: Story (sort of) - despite the negative aspects (which I mention below) the story was somehow interesting and made me want to keep watching to see what would happen. CONS: Story (sort of) - the story made no logical sense and many characters were flawed. There were tons of holes and things left unexplained or forgotten, which is due to bad writing. Animation - started off decent, proceeded to get worse every episode. The decline in quality wasn’t too noticable at first, but seriously, but by episode 10 you’ll be sitting there wondering what the hell happened. By the end it’s truely terrible. And some other reviews have admitted this, but still given overall scores of 7+ because “the story was just so good”. I can agree that if the story is incredible, the animation quality is much less important. But it wasn’t, so it isn’t. Voices - nearly as bad as the animation. Characters - No consistency at all. Characters personalities and behaviors flip-flopped like a fish out of water. Example: the main character, who goes from being a gullible, socially awkward keyboard junkie weakling to a clever, athletic, tough guy who can handle himself in a fight, back to a foolish, whiney, crybaby, and then finally into a tough-as-nails mastermind who wins over all the other students and outsmarts all the evil instructors. It just made no sense. Overall: Story: wasn’t good, but wasn’t terrible 4/10 Art: terrible 1/10 Voices: real bad 1/10 Characters: a few good ones, but mostly bad 3/10 Enjoyment: kept me watching, but didn’t particularly enjoy it. Wasn’t bad enought to make me quit partway through, but certainly won’t ever have the urge to watch it again 4/10 Overall: to me, enjoyment is the whole point of watching shows, so my enjoyment score and overall score are always the same, so 4/10
So, the first episode of this kind of threw me. In fact, I was fully prepared to drop this anime. However, I checked out some of the reviews on MAL, and apparently, this anime is meant to take the piss out of millennials. Somehow, that made it more watchable for me. I think the premise of Internet Addiction seemed like nonsense and a very thin idea to make an anime out of, but as soon as I found out that Evil or Live was a satirical take on my generation, it completely changed. Also, I'd like the record to show that this isn't a comedyas some have said. It's quite a serious, intense anime, but the overall plot of Internet Addiction is meant as a bit of a joke. Although, I don't think it's the creators trying to imply that my generation is addicted to the internet, but rather, I think they're trying to show that this is how older generations perceive the severity of millennials' internet usage (when, in fact, it isn't that bad, so they need to chill). Okay, enough about that. Here's the thing, once I got past my hold up about the premise of this anime, it got--dare I say--good! Not absolutely amazing, of course, as you can see by my rating, but it was entertaining enough to watch all the way through. If you're having trouble getting through the first few episodes but are dedicated to watching this anime, let me be the first to tell you, it gets so much better the longer you watch. Although, be prepared for the ending to be a bit hokey. It isn't very clear, and it doesn't make much sense, but I think that's because the anime ended before the source material did, so the ending of the anime is original (and thus, not the best). Anyway, Evil or Live was appealing in it's own way. I'd potentially come back to it in the future, who knows? It was definitely a wild ride while it lasted.
===Talkin about why people hate this anime=== After looking at my 10/10 rating for this anime, you probably think I'm an easy to impress type of person when It comes to anime. Now I know I probably don't look that reliable for a real review, I don't really make that many reviews unless people hate on an anime that actually was pretty good, or that I'm just lazy. Anyways this anime was apparently based on a real thing in China which kinda surprised me in a way, i guess, not really, but I think people only hate on this anime because In a sense, it kindahates on gamers or social media addicts. Not really effecting me because I'm not a supper obsessive about phones and gaming. Now I am a gamer and I do use my phone a lot but this anime shows the reality for some people and I guess it kinda makes them mad? Now I don't really want to take sides but if you have an obsession with gaming or with your phone and its not benefiting you in any way except for regulating your emotions making you more happy or taking out your anger online. If an obsession screws up your life, meaning school, your future, or family, its obviously a problem. Now looking at my review right now, you'll see that its pretty trash and it has a lot of commas and run-on sentences, but I'll get to the point. =====>review starts here<===== In the anime, our main character comes into this school that resembles the military except with more physical abuse. The students brought in are addicts of using the internet and their guardians want them to stop or just want to get rid of them. Hibiki(mc) climbs his way up through the high school hierarchy from looser, to leaders with power. It starts a little annoying because he is one of those mc's who are powerless and wants to be friends with everyone and continues to get shit on by others. But it doeesn't stop me because he continues to change slowly then one of the episodes his personality changed from "I'll have your daughter home by 10" to "Your daughter calls me daddy", obviously that was way over and not how it is but you get the idea. He realizes he can't trust anyone and accepts that the only way to get power is for him to change his pussy ways and to grow a pair. And to not spoil anymore I'll just end it here by saying it was a great anime and you should keep your real emotions about how this relates to you out of rating and not watching this anime. :)
"You can not judge a book by its front" Maybe the art of this anime is not the best, I have dropped a lot of animes because of that, some time later I decided to watch them just because of people's recommendations and hey! now i think they are incredible and wonderful anime series! The first episode of "Evil or Live" will leave you without a word, strange and badass characters, really original plot ... until the end you do not know what is going to happen next. Every chara has a past and it is not difficult to have one of more fav charas, i reallywish there would be one more episode so we could see how everything was resolved. Oh my god, and what can i say about that wonderful ending? In the middle on chaos and cruelty the sweet music and the dreams of two teens to be happy and scape from the prison where they are ... Just give it an opoortunity, if you really enjoy good animes and dont only judge them by its animation.
Very underrated show. Art 6/10 The art style could have been better. The animators were trying to go for a horror film-esque look by throwing in a film grain to make the show look more grim and dark but it was completely unnecessary and could have been easily avoided. The reason for the 6 is because the characters don't look that bad even though there isn't enough detail put into their design. Story 10/10 The story is about kids put in a rehabilitation school who must come to terms with their addiction and try to change themselves if they want to be leave. The story tries to makeyou feel uncomfortable with psychological projections that leave you wanting more. It's a feeling that many of the top anime leave you with in the end. Beautiful throughout the season. Sound 6/10 Lip syncing wasn't on par with the audio and shouldn't have gone unnoticed. Lots of the sound effects are really good and fair at best. Character 10/10 All the characters scream interesting, there won't be a single character that you'll hate because they all have amazing character development. If you're a very young person yourself, you'll relate to some of the characters because they have problems we don't see in ourselves. Enjoyment 10/10 I laughed, I cried, I was left uncomfortable. all the things anime should leave you with in the end of the journey. I had an emotional roller coaster with this show and crave something similar. If only I could go back and watch this show again from the start, I'd do it. Overall 8/10
The story/concept was actually a rather original idea. While a lot of people are stating that the art was bad, I found that it was alright and was relatively unfazed by it. It's rated 16+ for good reason, as it does have a ton(and I mean a ton) of inappropriate scenes. (Oops, I am under 16, and when I watched this I was hardly a teenager, but oh well...) I was watching this while it aired, and boy oh boy, every Tuesday, I was really, really excited to get home to watch the next episode. It wasn't that it was good, but rather that it hadelements that continuously dragged me into the story with every new episode. That's why my rating on how much I enjoyed it was so high. Sadly, from what I remember, the characters were all rather bland- although they all had different backgrounds/stories, there was little to no character development throughout the whole story. The only character they attempted to 'develop,' or whatever, was Shin, the one made out to be the bad guy, and that was just... rather poorly done. (To be completely and totally honest... Shin just might've been one of the only reasons that I kept coming back to the anime every Tuesday). I also have to ask- what on earth does Evil or Live mean? Lol, it hardly has anything to do with the story.
"In this world full of violence, only the strong can be righteous."-Hibiki Evil or Live is actually Classroom of the Elite yet it is darker, and has the same pecking order. Evil of Live is basically the package, torture,rape/sex,incessant beatings. Of course, wisdom and power, is the dominant trait that secures power in this school. It may very well be a similar depiction of what is happening with 're-education' camps in China where muslim Uyghurs are forcefully relocated and have to undergo similar treatments. It is made by a Chinese company but still very well written in terms of atrocities that is happening in the realworld, where human rights violation are occuring. Even though the art style is not nearly as sophisticated as Classroom of the Elite, the story is well written and portrayal of the characters. There isn't much depth but the portrayal of the characters' emotions are powerful. Power balance of the characters is kinda off, there are definitely certain plot holes in the ending of the story, where it felt like there wasn't even time to finish elaborating on ending the twisted school. Points for good music Internationale at the end, and good Chinese ED. Story:8/10 Art:6/10 Quite poor as it is probably low budget, but it is not the main character in terms of the anime. Sound:8/10 Character:6/10 Require more backstory/depth, their actions are not always logical necessarily. Enjoyment:8/10 FeelsGood anime Overall:7/10 Not necessarily bad, I would recommend. Honestly, people claiming the anime is terrible makes me sad, because it shouldn't be rated as bad as some other garbage.
This is my first review ever, and I will keep this short, because this... thing isn't worth anything more. I decided to watch it because it was the "psychological" genre, synopsis sounded interesting. Ratings weren't good, but it all comes down to personal preferences and feelings, right? Since the first moments I was accompanied by a "what the frick is this?!" thought. But I'd had already these kinds of feelings with other series, so I wanted to give it a try. It was a mistake. Somewhere in the middle of the story I had some kind of enlightment. "Maybe this is a parody? Maybe it was supposed tobe a comedy?", but further development proved me wrong. It could have been a good, dark, heavy story. What we got is an awful, dark, painful to watch story, with shallow characters, with annoying music, and with art quality and animations so bad, that's ridiculous. Trust me, run 'till you still can.
On one hand there are people that just hate this anime and rate it below 3, on the other there people that love it and rate it over 7. The first group hates it because it has bad art, sound and supposedly characters. The second group just thinks that art and sound are secondary and they focus on pretty good story and message hidden in it. I personally to the second group. First characters. Some say they dumb, annoying, easy to manipulate, but guess what? People are dumb, annoying and easy to manipulate. Characters are realistic, they aren't plain and have some backstory and someof them even evolve. Overall i think they are pretty good. Story is a good one too. It makes sense, there's always some action and there no boring bits. It kept me entertained and made thinking about what just happend or what's going to happen next. And now bad part: art and sound. They are not the best and obviously low budget but as I said I think they are secondary and what's important is the story. I'm not watching anime just because i want to see pretty pictures. And for those who are deciding whether to watch it or not, just ask yourself a question: Is perfect art important to me? If the answer is yes than don't watch it. If you prefer the content more than pretty pictures than it's anime right for you.
