The Second Season of 3d Kanojo well, to be honest it really was a fast paced but really well done both story and animation wise to be precise. The life of our Mc otaku tsutsun continues with his new relationship with Iroha, the prettiest and popular girl in school with the timeline of the 6 months where she is supposedly leaving the school. Quite a decent interesting setup for a romance series There was a lack of character development in the first season, but its quite satisfyingly covered this season with the plot and to be honest the “intensity” of this season (a lot of things happen ineach episode) comes from season one doing an great job setting up the characters and their scenarios. Starting off with our two MC's. Tsutsun, our introvert otaku who still is struggling with his introvert problems and ability to stand for himself in the school, social circle and mainly his relationship with iroha. During this season. The events in the plot quite transformed him surprisingly, not only he matured as a teenager who can understand people, relationships better and take the effort to converse and interact out of his comfort zone & succeeding. Also step up as a matured responsible man and as a really good partner for iroha, which was really great to see. Now Iroha, she didn't much of a good connection in the relationship with tsutsun, in the earlier season nor any development in the character, but her good judgement of character and the way she actually grows her affection towards tsutsun and also supports him in various situations including family and personal matters, really upgrades her status as a girlfriend in this season. Their relationship progresses in a normal, but sweet and quite delightful manner, with bit of drama and little ups & downs, which is enjoyable to watch, but at the same time the foreshadowing of the fact that it will only last for 6 months kind of cuts it down. But it also creates the curiosity and a bit of excitement in store for the viewers to see how the story will pan out with the happy or the monotonous sad ending. Now the other four supporting characters which were relevant to the series and their relationship story, well that had quite a development too. First of all Ito and Ayado, their friendship cum relationship transformation was quite a bit forced in the series to be honest,as both are otaku's their bonding was quite natural and understandable. but i feel they should have been given a bit more time and development for their relationship. time for their relationship development. Individually Ito had also great development, similar to tsutsun but much faster. He actually was the first one to show development, from the shy boy to a grown teenager, both mentally and physically if you know what i mean. Ayado well her character development was just being more open with her feelings and expressing them in a shy but bold way, pretty much that's all there is to her. Then comes our best Girl Ishino, the best support character, the only actual comedian of the series and wingman, have been praying for some decent screen time and plot for her. Wasn't disappointed. Not only did she continue with her great supporting performance, but also had good development as far as making herself recognized as a best girlfriend potential to actually valuing herself more and improving her life choices including guys. For Takanashi, he was another surprise, from being the asshole of the first season, he quite showed us his another side,as a responsible son, brother, a actual caring friend (ofc he doesnt like to show it), and for the first time actually started valuing and caring for ishino while playing the tsundere trope and keeping his snobbish attitude. Their love hate relationship with the drama is quite annoying at times especially from Takanashis side, but is bearable and worth to watch as it has its moments. Another good and noticeable thing about the series is that, even other side characters had decent involvement with their own backstory scenes and bit of development in the story, like the siblings of tsutsun & takanashi and also Tsutsuns parents which played quite a decent role into the plot progression. Hoods entertainment actually took good amount of rework measurements and increased the production quality this time, in contrary to the first season, which was really not worthwhile. The animation and art style are pretty decent with contrasting bright themed colors. Especially the Opening and the ED which have nice relaxing visuals and color play. Same goes for the sound, i liked both the Op and especially the ed as whenever any episode ends on a dramatic note the Ed plays up which quite fits nicely. The OST are also pleasant and heartwarming and adapt quite well with romantic and some emotional scenes.Really well done. The Va's did quite well with the delivery of dialogues and speeches, especially tsutsuns and iroha's. Overall i would say this is quite a normal but a nice romantic series to watch, it quite presents the journey of a teenager life, high school life, friendships. usual life problems, including struggles of a introvert (otakus especially),starting of love life including confessions, the usual good relationship moments and struggles, somethings which the viewer can relate to at a personal level. The plus point to this is that with the foreshadowing of a a limited time of 6 months with the two Mc's you get the vibe of "Your lie in April" feeling. At the start it wont be that relevant, but at the few end episodes of the series it will be a nice roller coaster of emotions and drama. So be really patient, because its really worth the watch,it has its nice moments, emotions & good scenes,so do enjoy it.
Please note this review is intended to be read by those that have finished watching 3D Kanojo Girl’s second season and while care has been taken to minimize story related spoilers there may still be spoilers within character analysis. You have been warned. Based off a popular manga of the same name 3D Kanojo girl which is better known by its English title Real Girl is a romantic comedy anime that gives us the opportunity to see what will happen if a high school boy who had long since been ridiculed by his fellows for being an otaku were to not just encounter but alsoend up dating a beautiful but ill-reputed girl and start a romance that neither expected to form. Though both were hesitant due to the many personal struggles that defined their past both decided to take their first steps as they gradually learned about each other and realized that their feelings for each other were genuine. It is now several weeks after the events of the first season and though Hikari and Iroha’s relationship have finally after many trials entered a stable period their time at school rapidly begins to decrease as the seasons past and they enter the final stretch of their high school life as their finals approach and lives beyond the school begins to beckon. For Hikari and Iroha too their final trial also starts to make its presence felt. The first season of 3D Kanojo girl I felt was an excellent anime that featured not just an excellent story but also a well thought out premise that made effective use of one of the most common themes within high schools and combining that with its own unique twist in the form of Hikari and Iroha’s romance. Seeing the kind of struggles that both went through during the first season really made me invest in their relationship and as such I was overjoyed to hear that a second season would be made that would continue the pair's journey. The first episode of the second season I felt did well in not just reuniting us with the main cast but also show how much they too have changed as a result of not just forging friendships together but also at seeing how close Iroha and Hikari have become as a result of the struggles that they had to get through in the first season. As Hikari and Iroha enter the last few months of the final years of high school and as finals and college entrance exams starts to make their presence felt both gradually start to realize that while their relationship has indeed started to stabilize they still have much to learn about each other and how to make their relationship a success. But even as they do Hikari and Iroha also begin to discover that their determined attempts to understand each other and their determined attempts to ignite the spark that will initiate their relationship back in the first season have also had an effect on the many friends that they have formed over the months and now they too after seeing the bravery and determination of Hikari and Iroha would also awaken a desire to make their own hidden feelings known to the ones they love. But even as love feels the air and Hikari and Iroha start to forge stronger links with each other the time limit that Iroha warned Hikari about at the start of their relationship soon starts making its presence felt. As their final trial approaches would Hikari be able to convince Iroha that the feelings that they have managed to form between them are genuine and that no matter what happens in the future he will always be there to support her when she needs it. Hikari Hikari Tsutsui portrayed by new voice actor Teppei Uenishi is one of the main characters of the series and is the main protagonist of the series. A 3rd-year student and an anime and game otaku Hikari is a quiet, cynical and blunt person by nature that while intelligent and responsible can be seen to be rather awkward around people of his age and can get nervous rather easily. Originally Hikari due to his nervous personality and the pressure that he faced from his peers was someone that can be seen to be anti-social by nature that was not only overly negative but was also one that shied away from interaction with his fellow classmates with his only friend being his fellow otaku Itou. Due to this Hikari while a kind and considerate person that was shown to be loyal to his friends was shown to have a distinct hatred of real-life relationships and real girls seemingly preferring the animated ones that he sees in anime and manga rather than the real-life counterparts. Largely due to this Hikari in the beginning can be seen to be someone that was not overly concerned about his future path in life instead being seemingly focused on taking on each day as it comes. As a result of the bonds and friendships that he had formed with his new-found friends and with his girlfriend Iroha back in the first season Hikari’s personality gradually began to change due to the many new experiences that he has experienced as a result. While still quiet to a degree Hikari in this season is shown to have become much better at communicating with others within his year group and willing to help others when given the chance. Unlike how he was in the first season Hikari was also shown to have developed a degree of responsibility as well as shown when he decided to repaint the culture festival banner that he had wrecked despite the fact that the rest of the class saying otherwise. While for the most part still largely passive Hikari was also shown to have developed a backbone of sorts being both willing to talk to others more openly and at the same time being brave enough to go to others for advice about difficult subjects that he’s dealing with rather than try and solve them by himself as he would have done in the past. In the first season largely due to his desire to remain apart from others Hikari was noted to have a rather thin grasp on how to deal with the feelings of others which often caused much misunderstandings between him and Iroha. Due to this and also due to Hikari’s desire to make the relationship that he has established with Iroha work it can be seen that in this season Hikari actively tries hard to both understand the feelings and problems that his friends are experiencing and at the same time try his best to provide the best advice that he can to them which is a far cry of how he would have acted in the past. While Hikari as already noted was shown to have developed a backbone of sorts that served well to enhance his ability to communicate with others his age it can be seen that the effects that this had on Hikari is not merely physical as mentally Hikari is also shown to have changed as well. While Hikari understands very well and accepts that in this world there are many people that are better than him whether in terms of grades or in sports rather than let these feelings of despair affect him and push him back into the shadows as it did in first season Hikari would instead work at trying to close the gap by trying to improve his own shortcomings. This aspect of not falling back into the shadows that acted as Hikari’s safety net as in the first season I felt was an excellent development of his character and a direct result of the life lessons that he had gained from the first season. Due in part to Hikari’s desire to stay apart from both society and his fellow students Hikari prior to this season was seen to be someone that didn’t place much hope on his future paths and unlike most seniors of his year group did not seem to have any clear goals in mind. However as a result of both the new friendships and bonds that he had managed to forge with his new friends and with his girlfriend Iroha and also as a result of seeing just how well planned out their futures were this began to change and Hikari began to realize that his time at high school fun as it has been would eventually end and before that time Hikari should start planning on the kind of future that he wants for his life. Apart from strong bonds with his friends that he is seen to value immensely Hikari’s other primary concern was without a doubt his relationship with Iroha. Due largely to the fact that their relationship had grown to be much more stable than before which in turn allowed them to develop a deeper insight into the unique circumstances of each other Hikari was shown to place this relationship at a relatively high place within both his life and his heart which is shown in Hikari’s constant attempts to find ways to improve their relationship while at the same time trying hard to learn more about her as a person. However, this expansion in their relationship while certainly sweet to see also served to be an excellent foundation for Hikari and Iroha’s final trial when used in conjunction with both the impending end of high school and of course of Iroha’s time limit. While certainly proving to be a formidable trial for the two it can be said that this trial also served well to show not just how deep Hikari’s love for Iroha was but also the lengths that he will go to ensure that both he and her will make as many happy memories of their high school days before the end. Iroha Iroha Igarashi portrayed by veteran seiyuu singer Yu Serizawa of Twin Stars Exorcist and How Not to Summon a demon lord fame is one of the main characters of the series and is one of Hikari’s closest allies and friends being his girlfriend. A 3rd-year student that attends the same high school as Hikari Iroha like Hikari Is seen in a similar light to Him in that both are seen as social outcasts that ensures that they have few if any friends and that whispers, and rumors follow them wherever they go. This aspect however was seen to have a much profound impact on Iroha as she was seen and labeled by many with many insensitive names that served to create a much higher wall for any that is willing to get to know her. As a result of this environment in which was, she was forced to operate in Iroha while a kind, quiet and polite person by nature that tries to help others when she can is someone that prefers to stay away from others due to a desire to stay out of trouble. However, as a result of her kind and caring nature and due to her own personal experience Iroha was also someone that was seen to treat others fairly even if she knew of the rumors that were circulating behind one’s back preferring to make her own judgments on someone rather than rely on the hearsay of others. As a result of this while Iroha certainly found Hikari to be somewhat of a unique character she unlike the others did not treat him with disdain but instead treated him with both kindness and consideration which while allowing them to eventually form a romantic relationship also contributed significantly to building the foundation that would serve to change both her and Hikari’s personalities as their bonds with each other improve. As a result of the many struggles that Iroha and Hikari went through in the previous season that eventually made them realize the depths of the feelings that they had for each other and embark on a romantic relationship that neither expected to form Iroha’s personality gradually began to change. While still remaining quiet and standoffish to a degree Iroha as a result of both meeting Hikari and meeting and making many new friendships back in the previous season is shown to have become much more understanding and considerate of both the feelings and the unique circumstances of others. This is shown in the fact that while she cares deeply about the feelings and unique circumstances of her friends she is willing to both listen to their own feelings and wishes and give the best advice that she can while letting them make their own decisions even if said decision presents a large risk to their relationship. This particular aspect is shown well within the family crisis arc which served as one of the seasons first arcs. While clearly shown to be conscious of the threat to their relationship both in terms of the mental strain and the difference that would come from having such a long distance relationship it can be seen that rather be forceful and stubborn about forcing Hikari to choose a path Iroha instead chose to do the opposite which was to make her own opinions clear to him while letting him make that decision while remaining hopeful. While doing well in showing her considerate nature this act also served well to show not just how much trust she has in Hikari but also show a more emotional side of her character that’s seldom seen within the series. A move that I felt was a well-played one as it served to give a physical representation of just how much Iroha has learned to trust Hikari both as a person and her other half. Despite the increased bond and the many friendships that she has managed to forge however it can be seen that Iroha still views the school in which they all go to with some amount of disdain which considering the emotional pain that she often suffered when within its walls is certainly understandable. However despite the pain that will come from seeing the same people that in the past had gave her unflattening nicknames and started rumours that served to tarnish Iroha’s reputation it can be seen rather poetically that Iroha as a result of the strength that she had gained from forging the strong bonds with her friends had managed to gain the motivation that she needed to not just stand up to them but also do it cunningly by giving sarcastic answers to their comments something that was shown well within the culture festival arc at the beginning of the series and which was pretty satisfying to see. As the series goes on it can be seen that unlike high school girls of similar age Iroha’s relationship with her family can be said to be a complicated one. While the first season already established that Iroha has a brother that cares deeply about her it can be seen that despite this the bond that exists between the two while certainly possessing a degree of family love possesses none of the family warmth and consideration that would be expected of it. This fact is shown well in the reactions that she exhibits when she was introduced to Hikari’s family and got to see first hand the kind of family warmth and care that was present within the interactions between their individual family members. While it was certainly interesting seeing Iroha get to see first hand how proper family members interact with each other and in the process establishing strong bonds with Hikari’s family it also served to indicate that Iroha and her family do not have the same level of warmth that would have existed in conventional families. Ayado Ayado Sumie portrayed by veteran seiyuu Reina Ueda of ReLife and Kakuriyo fame is one of the main supporting characters of the series and is one of Hikari’s valued circle of friends. A first-year student that attends the same school as Hikari and Iroha Ayado on first appearance is seen to be a quiet but kind, caring and understanding person by nature that shows great pride in her skills as a gardener. Similar to Hikari Ayado in the past was a closeted otaku that as a result not only had few if any friends but also had to deal with the many unpleasantness that came from her schoolmates as a result. Due to this shared sense of both origin and interests, Ayado not only managed to befriend Hikari but also strike up a strong bond with him that contributed in improving the personalities of both parties. Similar to Hikari and Iroha Ayado’s personality was shown to have developed many great changes as a result of the strong bonds of friendship that had been formed between them and the many friends that they had met in school. While still nervous and timid to a degree Ayado was shown to have become not just more hardworking but also more positive and willing to make decisions by herself unlike her largely indecisive nature back in the first season. Largely due to how she came about becoming an otaku from the onset it can be seen that Ayado was someone that had great trouble in forming relationships with others and indeed in the first season was seen to value her plants more than any of her fellow classmates. As a result of this while her fascination with manga and plants ensured that she was happy it can be said that this also caused her to have a distinct lack of knowledge of how relationships between humans worked as she not only had no real concept of how to have fun with friends but also of the fact that friends are also there to be relied upon in their moment of need. This however soon began to change as a result of the fortunate meeting between her and Hikari which not only allowed her to meet someone that had similar interests and experiences as her but also allow her to finally see just how much she had been missing by not having friends that she can count on. As a result of this revelation, Ayado not only learned to embrace the act of friendship that had been extended to her by Hikari and Iroha but also began to learn just how much light it actually brings to one’s life and tries hard to maintain them. However, while intending to do so with good intentions this act of trying to maintain the special bond of friendship that links Ayado with her friends also began to have an unintentional effect on her friendship with Ito due to the latter’s increasing feelings of affection towards her and creating a strain that soon caused both great emotional pain upon her realization of what she had done. While Ayado’s relationship with Ito at the beginning of the series was a cordial one at best as the series goes on this gradually began to change. Largely due to their shared origins and personalities Ayado’s relationship and bond with Ito gradually began to improve as the series went on with the two finding common ground in a myriad of subjects that range from films, animes and popular culture which is shown well in how determined she was in teaching him how to be an effective maid on account of her experience as one. While certainly amusing to see the normally quiet Ayado shout orders around this act of teaching Ito served well as a foundation for their rapidly developing relationship. While their relationship was rocky at first due to both the reluctance and inexperience of both sides this gradually began to vanish due to the realization of both that if you let go of this chance after meeting someone that matched you both in terms of interests and temperament then you will end up creating not just a bad memory for not just them but also for you but also create a painful one that could have an effect on their psyche. The relationship between the two while certainly filled with some interesting moments due to the unique nature of their personalities also served well to showcase that while trying to maintain a balance between friends is important its also important to realize that while you may be reluctant or even scared of pursuing a romantic relationship the same can also be said of the opposite party as well. While love may at first seem complex and relationships may be an enigma learning how it works and taking the time to show care and consideration towards each other by understanding and complementing each other’s strength and weaknesses can go a long way in ensuring that your first time will be a success. AMV In terms of animation while the series itself did not introduce any major characters it did however change the season for which the series took part in via the use of the winter uniforms and the brighter weather effects which I felt made great use of this season’s main theme of time both in terms of the countdown that lies in the relationship between Iroha and Hikari and in the fact that their school year is about to end. In terms of locations that were featured within the series I felt that each of the locations that were featured matched well with not just the pairs themselves in terms of location relevance but also in showing the gradual development in their relationships with notable examples being Hikari’s family home that showed the family warmth that existed within his family, Takanashi’s home that showed how much he took care of his house and sister and the beach that Hikari and Iroha visited during the formers struggle to find the right path forward for their relationship. In terms of music, the series made use of one opening and ending theme respectively which was Futari nara by Bish and Hagan which was performed by Fujifabric. The former I felt was while a catchy song also one that reflected well on the unique struggles that each character goes through as their school year approaches the end. The latter song however while being more grand and strong both in terms of vocals and the accompanying soundtrack also did well to reflect on the results of the many struggles that each character had to overcome to be together through the use of its visuals. I felt that this song served well to show that this series is the last season that will conclude on the tale of Hikari and Iroha’s romance. Voice acting wise I felt that the voice cast for the series did an excellent job at portraying their assigned characters whether main or support ones. In particular, I feel that Yu Serizawa, Reina Ueda and Shouta Aoi all did an excellent job at portraying the characters of Iroha, Ayado and Ito respectively. Overall conclusion In overall I felt that the second season of 3D Kanojo girl was an excellent series that made great use of both the characters, settings and bonds that were introduced in the previous season and expanding upon them to give each pair not just the opportunity to confess the feelings that they have for their crushes before they run out of time but also in a way that’s more suited to the high school setting in which the series is set in. I feel that the second season’s greatest strength was its strong story, its use of complex themes such as time in both character and relationship development, excellent OST and opening and ending themes and excellent voice acting. The overall story for 3D Kanojo Girl’s second season is without a doubt one of the main strong points of the series. While the first season of the series focused on not only introducing the main and supporting characters of the cast and showing their early days as they learned to not only forge friendships with one another and forge bonds of trust with each other over their beliefs it also served to create a firm foundation from which to expand upon the different relationships that have been forged between the cast. While the first season did an excellent job at showing the many trials that Hikari and Iroha had to go through as they sought to both understand the feelings that both had developed for each other and at the same time overcome their reluctance to make that change this season sought to show what had happened after that trial as they both enter a stable point in their relationship. With this, I felt that this seasons change in pace to reflect this new stage of their relationship was a welcome one as it allowed us to not just see just how much work both Hikari and Iroha put in to both maintain the relationship and at the same time advance it to the next step. While the main focus of the series still remains the relationship between Hikari and Iroha this season also took great care to not just expand upon each of the support characters and the unique struggles that each had to wrestle with but also tie them in with the one that they value the most. This pairing of the expansion of each of the support casts personalities via their unique struggles with the gradual forging of relationships with their fated pairs I felt was an interesting approach and even more so when it’s used in conjunction with the different locations that were introduced in this season as this last aspect served to reveal the unique circumstances that are unknown to outsiders. while I felt that each of the relationships that defined each of the couples within the series was well done I felt that Kaoru and Anzu’s relationship was by far the weakest one due largely to the lack of screen time and on-screen chemistry that existed between the two. As a final score, I would say that 3D Kanojo Girl’s second season deserves a final score of 10/10.
Honestly, the sequel season of 3D Kanojo is SOOO much better as compared to when it first started, and it finally managed to finish showcasing its manga source material right down to its (close) exact end. Which brings up the first point: If you have watched Season 1 and got burned by it at the very end, I can assure you that Season 2 right here will be more of the same, but with the difference being great reward being persistent in favor to see the (true) ending. In this sequel season, we continue on with the lives of the 3 (friends turned) couples: Iroha andTsutsui, Ayado and Itou, and finally Ishino and Takahashi. Starting off with the irregular pair that is Iroha and Tsutsui, what we've come to learn from Season 1, isn't exactly what these 2 seemingly mismatched people are truly about. As both Iroha and Tsutsui (finally) really prepare for adulthood, a lot of things are of concern, mainly how Tsutsui manages his love life with maturity, and from the coming out of his otaku personality, to learning how to seal himself as a confident person in front of his friends. This a major plus in character development for Tsutsui, and I dare say it's a hell of a job well done. Likewise for Iroha, as she detracts from Tsutsui more and more as each day passes, it's typical to see her from being the assertive girlfriend to being of one that unfortunately with her circumstances, begin to act very irrationally. It is at this point where Tsutsui's development really shines in the relationship, and helps Iroha get back up on her feet, and I can live with that. With more maturity and a sound mind, this relationship (to me) has finally become a full circle, even when Iroha has but only a short time to live, with Tsutsui taking full responsibility for her growth. Oh, and a special mention and props goes to Tsutsui's parents, as both Mom and Dad (his mum, most of the time) helped him out in making rational choices that would not only help him re-examine the relationship but also solve the small grudges behind it. Continuing on, the weirdness relationship that is Itou and Ayado. Unfortunately, Season 1 really didn't spare enough time and plot to let the (another) mismatched friendship develop, and this season right here picks up where it is left off abruptly, albeit really giving this couple a chance to showcase their chunkfulness of weirdo vibes, that with such circumstances, it is still warrant of a relationship. I'd never thought that I will see the light of day with Itou being one step ahead of Tsutsui (granted that was foreshadowed and did happen in the manga), with more of his shyful feelings becoming more of a scenario of a growing teenager to a young adult. Same goes to Ayado as well, as the even more shy lady get more character development in the form of being bold about her feelings and not passing any opportunities up. From strength to strength, this couple still irks me, but it's fine as now finally, they can stand above their adversaries. The (unexpected) friendship-to-relationship that is both Ishino and Takahashi. For the longest time ever since the happenings in Season 1, both Ishino and Takahashi were wingmans in the name of...(sorry *ahem*), love. Ishino, as far as I know her, has been steadily on the rise ever since her disregard for the main couple (that is Tsutsun and Iroha), but eventually came to terms with that and even developed herself as a girlfriend model to Takahashi (of course which he jokingly and with wit disapproves, but finally agrees). Takahashi on the other hand, he was a jerk throughout most of the journey here, but due to the complicated issue of sibling relationship (where his sister is in a relationship with Tsutsui's younger brother), this is where he saw Tsutsui as a threat, but even the midst of such a trivial matter, even he learned how to see relationships as not just a burden, but as an essential way to help fare his emotions with Ishino as well. So, with decent to great character development, the sequel here does its explanation and narratives justice, that has been kept up from Season 1, and make up for majority of the settings portrayed here. A job well done, I'd say. And also, a BIG shout-out and thank you, Hoods Entertainment, for listening to our worries about Season 1's obscene quality, and the time that your staff spent in flourishing the sequel here finally gives us some form of justice to the series. And honestly, it's a deal breaker to finally now see the comparisons between the former (last year) and the latter (this season), and majority (?) can agree that everything the studio has reworked on, sends the message that "To you, the fans of 3D Kanojo, we're adamantly sorry, we'll try to fix this problem and deliver better." really showcases some of the best quality that it has to offer. With even better art and consistent animation, they can really try to their best abilities, and the 6 months worth of time in-between seasons finally nails the (good) coffin was not for naught. The OST here takes what's good about Season 1, and makes it better. Sure, the BGM sounds the same, but this time, we get another OST that still looks and sounds good. Granted, I still prefer Season 1's choice of music, but what's here doesn't detract from the experience, and as a whole, still is a treat to listen to. With that, 3D Kanojo the series (with the manga source counterpart) is fully adapted from start to finish. Factoring in Season 1, it isn't really the best of startups but as time passes, the enjoyment outweighs the frustrations as both characters and animation really bring out the accommodating and noteworthy features. And...I hate to say this, but if you're intending to watch this, obviously go for the subpar premiere season first, then come back to the much-improved sequel. It will be slow as compared to many romance stories out there, so be patient with it.
That was beautiful (sign), as the anime ends it now gives us a clean ending about the romance to two opposites (sign). I'd say that this was the best 12 episode I've ever watch and it was quite disappointing to why somebody who rated this a 4 would get allota helpful hits. As I write this review I'd been listening to allota Sheena Easton's 80's hit's " telephone" so if any of ya Millennials don't have any idea about it then go to "YouTube" so enough of that, the story plot is basically the continuation of the 1st season aired last year andquite frankly it still doesn't disappoint us ( except maybe for those who gives this a 4 or lower), it still focuses on the relationship between Tsutsun and Iroha, but as the anime goes on we also see a couple to relationships forming all over from Igarashi X Takanashi , Ito X Ayado , Anzu (Takanashi's imouto) X Kaoru (Tsutsun's kid outoto) and there some Tsutsun's family matters that nearly destroyed the Tsutsun X iroha relationship.....and it gets better when we see Tsutsun's parent's backstory and seeing Iroha's onichan who wasn't an obsess onichan with siscon , but an honest step brother who is really considerate about his stepsister's happiness and the best part was when the formation of relationships become compete as we see Igarashi becomes the wife of Takanashi , Ito finally being reunited with Ayado who just came from a divorce to the Pièce De Résistance Tsutsun finally being reunited with Iroha...so without any further adieu, my ratings: Story- Very Good 8: For the continuation of the romance between 2 opposites and the formation of other relationships and for the good ending. Art- Decent 4: Don't expect any NTR nor any fanservices around here. Sound-fair 6: No comment here, cu'a I don't give a shit as who did who. Character- Good 7: That's for all the characters who formed relationship, but kind of disappointing for the Ito X Ayado's "ship" if you know want I mean, since they didn't end up with each other cu'z Ayado married someone else, but got divorced and her being reunited with Ito is in the grey area. Enjoyment- Very good 8: As I watched the ending, it has brought me to cloud 9. Overall- Very Good 8: And that's all folks so BOOM! ( Mic drop )
The astonishing come back that changed my entire point of view of a single anime. 3D Kanojo second season was incredibly decent, it was way better than the first season and we luckily got the opportunity to see the true completion of the series which is extremely endearing. Truly, I didn't anticipate that the second season will end up this good, it reminds me of Your Lie In April but with a non-depressing ending. In any case, I shed tears at the last episode and truly, I realize I've said this multiple of times above, but I'm so stunned. I'm glad the anime made areturn that truly made me feel as though the time I spent watching this series is genuinely worth it. Story : 9/10 - CONTAIN SPOILERS - ( And I tried my best to summarize the whole story ) The story continues from where it left off, the group of friends continued enjoying their youth. Itou and Ayano became couples, as well as Ishino and Mitsuya. Everything was going great, but Iroha had only months left before she will be transferring to another school. With that said, Tsutsui tries his best to spend all the time he had left with Iroha until it lasted. Later on, he realized that she wasn't going to transfer school. But she had to do a surgery, in which does not guarantee her life and even if the surgery succeeds there is a very high chance of her losing her memory. With that said, Iroha leaves the school, making Tsutsui be in despair. As time passes, he realized that remaining depressed will not do anything. So he tried to move on. Many years later, Tsutsui became 25 years old and he had a good job. His friends also grew, and Ishino and Mitsuya held a marriage. Everything was fine, but Tsutsui still remains unchanged with his feelings towards her. Time passes and Iroha came back from Los Angeles to Japan to check what herself is like "before she lost her memories". She checked her school, her house and more but she couldn't remember anything. But she slightly remembers an item which Tsutsui had given her, but she did not fully remember. It just makes her feel sad. Iroha's brother felt pity towards his sister so he decided to bring Iroha to Tsutsui. They met, but Iroha did not remember him. However, she noticed the item that looked exactly the same as hers and she ended up remembering the past of her and Tsutsui after some talking. Boom, time passes again and they get married. Happy ending. The story was great, there were less cliches than before. I'm really glad they made a shocking come back. Now I understand why the score of season 1 is so far from season 2. Still, I think I regret criticizing the anime so much now. If I put season 1 and 2 together. I think that season 1 did a great job setting up the characters. And season 2 did an insane job giving the anime the rest of the things it deserved to fill up the gap. The plot was great and it seem to have been very well-planned. Everyone became matured, especially Tsutsui. I'm so glad that both Tsutsui and Iroha got together at the end. I'm also surprised that Ishino got a lot more screen time than before and she as well got the good plot she deserved. Art : 8/10 Decent as always. No. Way better. The art of the second season doesn't seem to be rushed compared to the first season where the characters sometimes look like a shrunken plant cell in a salt solution. Everything about the art was fine for this season, the art style, the quality, etc.. No doubts, no criticisms. Done. Sound : 8/10 The sound was good as always, I have a feeling that the voice actors have gotten better at expressing the emotions of the characters and I'm glad that I felt that way. The OP and ED is also okay, but I listen to it less than the first season because I like the first's more. What surprised me though, is when they put the first season's OP at the credits of the final episode. I cried even more due to that. Damn, great, just great. Character : 9/10 Character development is outstanding!! I pretty much covered it up in my story review already so I won't say much here : Iroha still lookin fire ( but I prefer her with long hair ) Tsutsui lookin less-otaku and more matured. Itou looking more normal. ( lol ) and y e s Enjoyment : 9/10 Really enjoyed the anime. Cried, but not depressed. I'm glad I didn't give up on the anime. Overall : 9/10 I don't really know if this is the first time I cried over an anime and did not feel depressed that it ended, but that's good. So I can move on with no regrets. This anime is really good, I recommend everyone to watch it if you're into romance genre. Really, you should. This is worth your time.
I was one of the very few who actually defended season 1 for being cliche. This time 3D Kanojo really upped its game a lot, gave more depth to the characters and presented a rare excellent closure to a relatively decent romance anime. As I'll include some spoilers, I suggest you to read with caution. Story (10/10): It started where it has left, but this time, Real Girl clearly demonstrated that in this occasion the problems to solve will be of higher stakes, beginning with the school festival, where now Tsutsun will have to go out of his comfort zone to organize his class for the festival. Andthat was only the start, touching rare themes like divorces, finally solving the Itou-Ayado and Ishino-Takanashi puzzles, talking about the forbidden act in a pretty normal matter, debates about young love, etc. But the most important subplot not touched heavily in earlier moments, the key revelation of Iroha's reason to go away after the 6 months deadline exemplified perfectly in how Tsutsun and Iroha got so close to each other, despite their not so high initial chemistry. It clearly shows how Hikari was so affected by the issue before and after the revelation in how his life and grades crumbled even worse than Venezuela's socialist government. In this case, Tsutsun being Tsutsun, saves his crisis at the last moment. In the future, 7 years after the graduation, Tsutsun is an established salaryman who hasn't changed mentally and is still affected by Iroha's departue. She makes a surprising appearance late with short hair not remembering nothing, proving clearly that a brain tumour is the most dangerous thing (this is what I suppose Iroha had from the basis of her comments) to memories, as a successful tumour extraction can destroy your memories. The other 3 characters have also progressed since the graduation, now Ishino and Takanashi had settled and also had a baby, and Itou is a very well respected designer in the anime industry. Since this is anime, Real Girl has to give us a happy ending, and that's we got, Iroha getting her memories back and finally getting back with Tsutsun. While the ending was maybe predictable, it proves yet again that a happy and predictable ending if it's well made, you just can't help but shed a couple of tears for their ending. Art (7/10): Hoods Entertainment improved most of the big problems of the S1, which was very close to having a fugly animation, there's less off models, the colour pallete is more varied, and the using of dark colours in Iroha's revelation and Tsutsun's reaction was the best example of the improvement, which didn't collapsed. The backgrounds were good, but not great, slightly better than S1. The chara designs were pretty spot on most of the time, whenever in their teenage age or adult version. Ayado's adult design was so great and hot as the highlight. Sound (9/10): The OST is still decent, but the inclusion of darker tunes raises the sound rating a couple of extra points. The OP and ED truly expressed in the best way the darker tone of the second season, if you have the chance to read both lyrics, you'll understand me. The seiyuus were still great, Yu Serizawa (Iroha) has clearly showed again that she's one of the biggest promises of the seiyuu world. Teppei Uenishi (Tsutsun) diversified his emotional repertory for the better, but still needs more experience. Characters (10/10): Our dear characters in 3D Kanojo 2 changed from being the typical cliche characters of RG1 to reveal more and different angles of each other, and that was the best experience of watching Real Girl 2. The characters were very extremely importart to the point to even taking out one of them would have destroyed the perfect thread of the plot. Now Tsutsun is not the classical neet otaku, clearly inmersed into his relationship with Iroha, showing a different angle. Such was his compromise with her that almost affected his life, with some degree of reason. His maturing along these 12 episodes was the best part of the series. Iroha has her fair share of problems derivated for their disease, but neverthless showed that she is very into Tsutsun and demonstrating that she'll do everything to protect and defend him, challengind the notion of the typical annoying popular girl, however her growth stopped for obvious reasons. The biggest surprises were Ishino and Takanashi, who stopped being the typical critics of everything and started getting closer onto each other in such a subtle manner, and the rest of the cast. The point of having critical voices in a cast is to expose better the imperfections of the character. Itou's lingering crush with Ayado was solved swiftly and showed that both are still fragile imperfect characters and needed some degree of care and love. While cheesy, it's very normal for people who are late bloomers in the love department to be more clingy. I personally wished to see more of Ayado after the revelations of the final episode. The Tsutsui family also got a higher relevance, not only with Kaoru and his juvenile crush and later relationship with Anzu-chan, but also developing much more Kaoru and Tsutsun's mother and putting her more on the forefront and finally presenting their father along the way, touching a very obscure theme that is divorce. Enjoyment (10/10): You may be surprised that after giving very good opinions of 3D Kanojo, I haven't given a 10 to the anime, it's because MAL still forces me to evaluate Art and Sound which were a bit less consistent than the rest of this season and I still use a strict arithmetic mean. So if you want, consider this review as a de facto 10, and a de jure 9. Since one of my weakness has been cheesy romantic animes, I really enjoyed the full course of Real Girl, and correcting a lot of the mistakes done in S1, makes the pleasure of watching this even higher. Very rarely, romantic animes develop after the key confession or the stabilization of the relationship, 3D Kanojo goes even further in showing the established couple doing what normal couples do, moreover, touching very undeveloped themes in anime like divorce, breaking up, reencounters, post-relationships depressions, etc. So I give Real Girl his very deserved recognition for evolving from a very cliche romance story to a very solid romance story. Final score: 9/10.
This Anime is certainly about how love is actually blind and is mysterious in it's own ways. The story encircles an Otaku with a pretty rough edge. but what made him special is how he is like a flower that blooms right around the correct people. He tends to avoid 3D women, fantasises about 2D girls all the time.. he appreciates the very essence of anime. His best friend is like his perfect sidekick, also an Otaku.... The characters all develop so quick, so outstandingly beautiful that it becomes clear how beautifully the story was thought off.How the clear opposites can actually bond and eventually elope. The way the anime showed me the hardships faced with what a normal person would think that it is just normal. But in reality. It felt true, alive, breathing, colorful. It showed me the hardships faced in families. How a simple misunderstanding could eventually destroy a bond tighter than the best of all glue (can't say this a spoiler, but i find it hilarious to use it here) It's just the way that the kindest of all minds can pave the way for the colors to return to it's rightful home that is the human heart. Many would think that ending was almost too expected. but let me say this that don't compare this anime to this. I find it absolutely enthralling that how a person could eventually turn into someone that is rightful in their duties, true to the very heart, works harder than anybody. But most of all cares, loves and protects. The way the polar opposites of all these couples ion this anime it is the must beautiful part of this anime. It made me smile to see this group much tighter bonded just like a single family. How curiosity can spike thoughts, how fast can relationships change, how one adapts, how one stays true to herself at the very end to love and be loved. To the very last end he intends to protect at the cost of him being the hurt. The way this anime made me smile, made my cry, made me emphasize. It again felt alive, colorful, happy, sad but at the same time enchanted. This is a certain masterpiece. This was my very first at typing out a review. I believe i am just better at explaining in speech, hope you liked it.
The first season was perfect, and the second season isn't different. This a touching story. The development of protagonist, is smooth and precise. I identified myself a bit. The general Story, as said previously, is very good. The animation is "ok". This studio have your good points and bad points. In relation, the manga, the story is the same, only with a small difference, because the anime hasn't adapted the special chapter, that extends the story. The last chapter of manga, could be an OVA, but... in resume, this anime is good, very good. I extremely recommend. All of this is good, the story, charactersand the soundtrack, opening and ending. The plot is fantastic and with surprises.
I originally dropped this show because I found the characters to be annoying and the MC basically kept screwing up for the same reasons to the point where it got repetitive. Recently I decided to pick it up and discovered that the 2nd season is far stronger than the first. The main cast all gets more screen time with a lot of them becoming a lot more likeable then in the first series. I found early on in season 1 that characters were always too nice. It's a weird complaint but it's not interesting to see a cast who are this irritatingly wholesome the only twocharacters I liked from the start were Ishino and Takanashi. They were mean and selfish but still good underneath. It felt like they had a lot more complexity and chemistry especially together then the MC and the other couple. Itou and Tsusune definitely go from the most unlikeable characters to likeable this season and I think that's one of this shows strengths. The characters had those unappealing characteristics which is part of why they were unpopular to their peers. So often an unpopular character in anime is unpopular because of superficial reasons when they can communicate and talk to people just fine. Generally this is so their protagonist is still appealing despite being unpopular "in universe". So the fact I went from disliking these characters to actually caring where they end up speaks volumes to how the show handles its character development. Is it amazing? No. But it's competent and satisfying. The animation was nothing amazing. Except for a few rare exceptions in the show the animation was pretty dull. Especially in a lot of the more emotional scenes we just get close up static shots of their faces and they do it a lot. These scenes are incredibly important so having lack luster animation and music kind of takes away from those moments. The music was fine, nothing I'd write home about but it was competent and did a decent job. The strength in this season was it's direction it had something a lot of shows lack and that's pulling off a satisfying ending for all the characters. 3D Kanojo doesn't have anything interesting to say, it's not deep and doesn't have some overall message. But it tells it's character's stories in a way that leaves the viewer content. I think it speaks a lot for a series when you can leave the viewer not wanting more despite them connecting with the characters and even tearing up. There are few series I can say that about. So I'm glad I picked it up again. Haven't been as content with the ending of a show since Clannad After Story. This is a show I highly recommend sticking with, once you get past the cheesy moments and forced melodrama of the first season you get a really well rounded story that will leave you happy you picked it up.
This was a really pleasant series to follow and go along with. Yes, It may not have been one of the best ones ever, but it made good use of the source. The OP and the ED have already made their way into my Ringtones! They were an important part of keeping the theme and interest going! It was definitely better than the previous season but then it didn't do much. I felt that there were some moments which were clustered all together so, those were some memorable ones. Some episodes had a lot going on, where some were completely empty. Liked the fact that freakin' Itou senpaidid it before Tsutsui....... LOL. As the story concluded, the plot was kinda out in the open leaving no place for curiosity and I think the end could've been better. The ending felt kind of bland, but still fitting to the story. Even after that, this is one of the animes that I'll remember.
After watching the first season, I was doubting about how this story will end. So I saw on internet that there's a second season so I begin to watch it expecting a good finale for this one. First of all I have to say that the first one was not very emotional and hooking as I expected, even this second season. But, I think to give it a second chance and I decided to finish it. My surprise was very high when in the final episodes the story begin more and more interesting and emotional, finally, the argument started to show from the shadows. I have tosay that this second season was, in my opinion, the best one for the way that this story ends. Was very emotional and full charged of feelings that make you cry. Finally, I think that maybe a second season was unnecessary and this story needs to be finished in the first one, but, I think that the work done here was very good and they finish the story in a very good way. If you like the shojo animes and want to know about a romantic and funny love story, you will like this anime.
To say this was a dumpster fire would be an insult to dumpster fires. Where to begin? So, the story pickups right after the first season. No rocket science there, but then it doubles down on the nonsensical drama that happens for no good reason as it continues to emasculate men. The girls don't get away either. Their IQ seems so low, that the military would refuse them. The adults, the few that they had, could have not been more retarded. Mix that in with the dumb AF story with the standard anime must have school tropes and you realise that "Redo of healer" mighthave been a masterpiece. This show makes you wonder if in Japan, you can beat up nerds and girls without consequence. The voice acting...I thought these people were professionals paid to sound like the character but no! They must have looked around the office for people, then stuck them in the recording studio. Every conversation sounded forced and fake. People if you have the slightest bit of respect for yourself and time, avoid this show. There are so many good high school romances out there that this should be reserved for someone you hate. The characters are so mid and uninteresting, it is hard to get invested in them. There is some small development but it is so poorly handled that it comes off as cringe more often than not. The lead girl is probably the most interesting of the lot but is saddled with the "she so pretty, she must be a whore" syndrome. Actually, the writer just stuck every high school drama trope imaginable short of being transported to another world in the hopes something sticking. I guess that's why this show has as a high score. The pacing was cringe, drag, cringe, drag, drag, cringe next episode. The only things they got right were the mediocre animation and (thankfully) no fan service but is easily negated by how quickly people overreact to minor infractions in the relationships. Was this show supposed to be a parody by chance? Because if it was, it went right over my head.

Animations were a big issue for this series, and the pacing was very rushed. The selling point for me was actually just the story line, though I kinda wish we seen more... Overall I had to give it a seven because it was good, nothing more nothing less, sadly. If youre looking for a series to pass time that has a nice story line, but mediocre animations Id definitely recommend this, because I enjoyed it. I would recommend trying to watch it in one sitting though. It was actually disappointing to see that, Ayado and Ito didnt change at all in the seven years, shewas still a trick, and he was still hopelessly following her.
Very good, I watched season 1 & 2 from start to finish and it's a bit of a tear jerker near the end. Not trying to spoil anything but you will get some feels if your following the show closely. They do a good job with the voice acting feeling out the scenes, and they dont throw the obvious at you every episode like other romance animes which is nice. The characters are a little cliche but they got their own unique feel. Be a really great date show for couples in a serious relationship or for single people just into serious love stories. It's not meantto be humorous every episode, plays out almost like soap-opera where it all feel very real. I'd definitely recommend someone into romance anime to watch this. It's nice to see an otaku protagonist being treated like a human being for once and not a walking gag-reel for cheap laughs. 8/10 Only flaws is there's a little too many slow mo shots and the characters are pretty stiff. No fancy animation here just raw emotion and great dialog. watched it Dubbed and enjoyed it very much.

Thank you Mao Nanami and all the ones that made this outstanding history. It will be forever in my heart. I completely loved this masterpiece! I would like talking about how this anime despict how the life is in all you form, this a completely SLICE OF LIFE where you sometimes fells that the main and the supports are living you YOUR real world. I now that some episodes can be very cliche and we are talking about teenagers that lives, but the feelings is being passed throws the scenes can make you think that you indeed is living in their world.
No spoilers. I really enjoyed the first season of this anime, and was looking forward to the second season. It didn't disappoint, and gave me the same quality I was expecting from the first season. The characters are all still ridiculously on point, and human beyond the capability of most writers. Even the "bad" characters are likable in their character uniformity. There were so many times where I had to pause the show to laugh until I was red in the face. The art is not phenomenal, but I like the way they use different color shading for each character, which really hasa cool mental effect when watching the show. Also the music isn't anything to write home about, but I think that's okay given the sort of narrow focus of the anime. They didn't need to get Kalafina for a high school romance, or anything. The strength of the second season is in its character developments. The progress of Ito through his high school years was so heartwarming to watch, and we get details about characters who are normally relegated to the side unfairly in many anime, especially high school anime. The other strength is the ending, which in my opinion was perfect, but I don't want to spoil anything so I'll just leave it at that. If I had to point out weaknesses, it's that they felt a little rushed at the end, and that they didn't make enough time for Ayado in the last six episodes. I really, really wanted to see her develop more as a character, but by the end she felt somewhat like an afterthought. But still, this is one of my favorite romance anime, and I would consider its flaws quite minor. I'd recommend this for anyone who likes pure romance anime, who likes human and realistic characters, and who cries easily.
Well, it might be a bit too late for review, however, I prefer towatch anime series in one go, so forgive me on that. Note that I'm a guy so there might be some gender bias in this matter. This anime is unbelievably get me hooked, considered something a bit in Shoujo style rarely get me interested. The story itself is quite robust and intense, with some irritating turns of event as spices. (Which I find it very irritating, annoying but captivating at the same time.) The romance itself is very strong. The MCs are quite robust designed in their characters. However, MCs' friends are not madeto be that robust, maybe because it can rival to MCs. However, I think it'd be better if MCs' friends were to be made as robust as it can go or else they're not look like equal human to me. Nonetheless, Characters design is quite good. So I give 9/10 on this. For art, I was so surprised that shoujo style 'kira kira' didn't creep me out like it normally did. I think it was due to the robustness of the story. Charactors are well drawn. One thing I find so irritating was characters' skinship, like leaning on each other, hugging or even kissing are in no way realistic. Too much space between them like they are some hard stick hugging each other. Come on, consider the intense romance and pain, who the hell gonna hug like that, no way. I can only give 8/10 on this For sound, I kind of disregard the OSTs coz I don't really care about it and I also don't like it. Voice acting was good. I kind of really like FMC voice. So in this regard I gave it 9/10. Enjoyment, I really enjoyed watching this anime, to my own surprise. Insentity of the story and romance got me hooked. But as mention earlier, other couples other than MCs are not that intense and make them looked like more of the sidekick and less as human being. So I give 9/10 in this. Overall, I gave 9 for this serie!

"There will be times when you realize you won't regret that one choice you made" That's exactly what went with me for 3D Kanojo: Real Girl. I never really started with the original work in Manga form so I can't really say anything coming from the original work. But if you can see this review and the one I wrote on the first season or first 12 episodes, you will see me bashing down on both of them for bad execution of work. The first thing ever to hit your eyes would be art and animation. And boy, is it bad with this series? Just as with thefirst season, art style is generic, background and foreground barely fit, characters' animation and movements are as bad as ever, the pinkish tone is still there and even got worse during the wait. There is now even some kind of high lighting that makes most scenes hard to see. Then blurry outline frame in yellowish light and shoujo manga bubbles everywhere. Sound and frame matching is luckily or unluckily still that bad. But the voice acting is now, strangely enough, felt more realistic than I thought it was in first season. No. It's still not expressive, as ever. But it's realistic. Like what your conversation in real life would be like. So now it's a good point, you idiot of a reviewer? Make up your mind. And of course, I chose that it's actually good. Exactly because of that, every conversation starts to sound serious and important, despite the rush in execution of plot line. Every line in character speech feels like it has a better purpose than just being there. Of course, this doesn't quite apply to comedic cuts. Still not good enough to redeem for the bad on art though. This series only redemption is that its story and plot line was relatable. You might laugh at me later down in this review, but it sure is relatable. Now, with a second season, that story line, however mediocre it was, has new drops and tit bits that doesn't let you think back to your own experience. (FROM THIS POINT ON, THERE WILL BE SPOILERS AHEAD, YOU CAN SKIP ABOUT 2-3 PARAGRAPH TO SKIP THE SPOILERS). Pretty early on you see new thread of romantic relationships other than just that of protagonist and main heroine like with protagonist parents, his otaku friend, his best female friend (sounds sexist), his brother and at pretty late point in time, you see a by no mean to-mean-anything-marriage-relationship of a man without a face. If you have a family and you are the passive type of human, protagonist's parents and faceless man's should be your marriage in a way (says a guy with no experience in marriage at all). You didn't 2 didn't get married to each other for no reason after all, just talk it out and it might solve any kind of problem, as long as you are still sincere. The school life romantic threads are not much to say but their development makes you scream (or to be exact, made me scream) "Ah! Youth!". Though I never did experience a romantic school life, I can see the worries, the change of view in the world around, the change of thinking in each thread easily. That makes them, while not too good and might not be requited, still something precious. Then lastly, main line of thread, the 3D, the real girlfriend romantic thread with protagonist. If you care to pay enough attention, you might have picked up on the strange 6 months period of romance set at the start of the series. It's nothing new. But the depression of "she didn't dump me, that's the thing that stings the most" is just so real for something made for this series' typical length. It hurts, but it's exactly why you have to keep standing firm on your feet, start walking onward and wait. Wait for whatever might come, you forgetting, you deciding to stop being the kid who was in that pain anymore, or hopefully, something good... And something good happened, right at the time every other step was taken, and protagonist was almost giving up and decide to let it all be just parts of his past youth. Main heroine came back. And now, with both men who were never fighting for her let her choose without forcing themselves onto her to reach the final happy ending where friends are reunited, love ones are bound together. And then, they lived happily ever after. Isn't that just what you want to see? Isn't that just what you want to experience once in your life. It's beautiful. But it's beautiful exactly because it's not something will happen to you. In the end, I as a reviewer still can't win against the fact it was a beautiful mediocre story about love, romance and marriage. It still won't change the fact I was pretty satisfied with protagonist's decision to walk on, yet unable to move on though. That's the beautiful thing in romance. Once you get into it, you can never really get back out. 10/10 for enjoyment.
Note: This review is a review of the entire series and not just season 2. 3D Kanojo is a rather interesting series showing the life of an otaku, or in particular I should say, how they deal with the realities of the world. As several of us watch anime sitting in our rooms, we tend to become introverted and lack the social abilities that help us fiiting in. Tsutsui Hikari was the one of the most relatable characters I have ever seen in an anime, because he definitely is pretty much like me. However, the theme of the show is romance and just like that Iroha Igarashicomes into the picture. Their relationship is exactly what someone might expect it to be, Tsutsui lacking any social capabilities and being someone who has not even talked to girls that much before faces trouble dating Igarashi, in understanding her, knowing what makes her mad. This in my opinion, is actually a really accurate depiction of how someone as introverted and socially awkward as him would be when he were dating someone, and that too someone as out of his league as her. The romance in the show however is a bit of mix which correlates to the characters. While I loved the relationship between the two MC's, and no how matter how much I loved Ito and Ishino individually, I particularly felt that their relationships with Ayado and Takanashi respectively were way too rushed and did not feel good. That being said, Ito is definitely one of the best friends an MC might have had in a show. The characters were fair overall however not much focus was given on the side characters and which definitely leaves you wanting more of their sides and stories. Finally, coming to the animation, particularly in season 1 their were a few scenes which felt rushed, however, I personally don't mind such things as long as the plot is holding me. The music definitely is one of the stronger points of the show with each soundtrack fitting the scene perfectly, not to mention that the ED2 is really good. The last few episodes of the show are actually heavy and impactful and the music makes you feel the atmosphere of the show. The story might seem a bit cliched to some but as I have seen with time, it is best to go in a show with an empty mind and just focusing on what is being shown as only then you can truly appreciate any show. In the end, my opinion might be a bit biased because I have lived a similar life to the protagonist, I have felt and gone through what he has which is why I loved the show. Overall, I would like to give the show a 8/10, the story and sound definitely are the strong points of the show, but fast pacing at some points and lack of focus on side characters did hurt the show.
