The original video anime episode will serve as the final chapter to the television series, focusing on the rivalry between the "the protagonist" Amatsuyu Kisaragi (Jouro) and Yasuo Hazuki (Hose), "the background character." (Source: MAL News)

Tuturu! This is my first review so bear with me. First, for the story, this OVA gave us a great episode to show what happened between Joro and Hose. Their rivalry is really fun to watch, and I'm glad one of them made it till the end. Oga's past also taught us that your best friend will be there to protect you, no matter what will happen to them. For the art and sound, Eh tbh the art looks a bit different from the previous episodes but still enjoyable, same goes for the sound, nothing much to worry about. For the character, nothing much to say, only Jorowho turns the tables here, makes me like his character even more. And I gotta admit, Sasanqua caught me off guard, she's too damn cute without me realizing it. I mean, she's one of Tsundere who never punch the MC or irritated for no reason, no wonder why she's the best girl here. I enjoy watching this anime. Our boi The Bench made an appearance in this episode XD I really love this show! Usually, I can't enjoy watching harem anime because surely one of the characters will be left behind, but this one, I love it. If you haven't watched the show, then give it a try. Believe me, it's worth watching.
One of the most beautiful ova i've ever seen, that's all i need to say Story: It continues where the anime ends, and tell us about the final game with lots and lots of twists. The iconic bench is there too so we keep the main idea here. Another thing i need to add here is that we're seeing the main character Joro perspective with the final game BUT we are also watching Sun-chan's perspective too, with a really emotional and wholesome story. Art: The art is incredibly good, it has a nice and fluid animation too, last thing i have to say about art, is thatthe color pallets were right on point. Sound: The ost, voice acting and everything is a clearly 10/10, a complete masterpiece. Characters: I have to give the characters a 10/10 because all of them are unique and lovable in their own way, it's impossible to not like at least one of them. Enjoyment: I must say that i really really enjoyed watching this 1 hour special all the time. Seeing the bench again was something i was waiting for and it did appear, so i'm happy with that, we saw all the characters showing all their personalities. Overall: I'm giving this ova a 9/10 in the review, but i think it's a solid 10/10.
This anime had potential to be one of the best anime of the year, since the plot written was good and the character design was so far fine for me.This anime aren't all the same like the others harem anime where the protagonist was dense, this was a total 360° spin of any harem protagonist personality. The story line always pick up the mood,so it won't feels bored that easily (depend on individual taste). The art was fine for me it was smooth and colourful....but sometimes there's was a flaw in the animation artwork but just ignored it...since it was minor mistakes i guess. The character played quite an uniquepersonality, never seen an harem character got bash so much at the beginning thou lol. So watching this anime is totally worth your time for those who love a romcom plot anime.
I was super stoked seeing it finally aired and translated for english viewers, I've been waiting since christmas. Rom-com with an interesting motif with Flowers, Sunlight, and Water, they didn't waste opportunities to play to the motif in this installment. Everyone drums up their spirits the pursuit of love, true feelings, harmony and self actualization. I like the points they made about being honest with who you are and not giving in to jealousy or deceit. I'm not getting overly emotional over this, but i was invested in the chars to a degree. i don't think they're grounded in reality to the degree of moredramatic shows, but they've most have been fleshed out enough to be considered respectable. Oge/Sun finally got resolution. The build up to this game was perfect though. The focal point of all the characters was a baseball game and it finishes with another one. I guess if there's something i want to iterate the most is that despite whatever criticism people have for Oresuki this aspect of the story is a win. A bunch of flowers staring at the sun, it's great. Bushi Kosmos <3 got a quick moment and Tsubaki the fried food tenshi <3 ... she knew her place was far away from the other girls orbit around Joro and decided to back off, yet she didn't understand that she'd already won his heart immediately. i'll have to check in on the light novel, since it's conclusion hasn't happened. also you'll be hungry afterwards
Overall 10/10 because of the last sentence he said. To those to get it, I think he actually made a choice. The moon is indeed beautiful. Story is awesome because of the unique way used to portray the story. But the story itself is really clichéd. Art is decent but not top notch. Sound is good, with amazing OP and ED.Characters development are mainstream but the MC character is very likeable. Personally. I enjoyed the anime 10/10 of the time, I'm the kind of person who dislike romance drama but the way the anime is made, allowed me to enjoy it a lot.
I am writing this review mainly to give a different perspective as it has almost all positive reviews. Obvious spoilers ahead as I will compare the two rival characters Joro and Hose. Our protagonist Joro is still in the midst of his challenge with Hose the proclaimed "main character" to compare Joro's role as an "extra" in the life of the perfect Hose. Joro attempts to collect more barrettes than Hose through a series of surprise appearances. The basic plot of the OVA tries to portray is who will win, what will happen once they win, and how will the story end. The plot does thesebut in my opinion, does not quite hit the mark. To begin the victor is chosen but Hose's two fangirls flip their personalities quickly after a previous scene from season one is brought back up in which they decide that his happiness with a girl who doesn't like him is not as important as making their feelings known. (as I'm writing this I will add my bias that I just don't like that hose thinks he will end up with sumireko when she has changed her entire look to hide from him and avoid him. the romance, in general, is a bit weak due to the plethora of unrequited confessions and the changing idolized partners in love) anyways stuff happens and Hose eventually shows a bad side and it is so comically evil and has these giant motivations with his evil plan to win over Sumireko don't make sense unfortunately. getting rid of the man she loves doesn't create an opportunity for a man she hates to steal her heart. it is illogical. Now to add onto the plot and the characters, the girls are there to make Joro choose. we all know they love him and they end up being limited to their simple emotions of love and become one-dimensional copies of one another to add conflict to the choice. The original group doesn't really interact with him and a lot of screentime is spent on the baseball game which was unnecessary. The first few episodes of the first season really make you expect these hidden plot points and exciting developments but past the first arc the show only gets less exciting. The humor can be quite hilarious. The characters and their motivations don't get the time they need to develop and the uninteresting plot hinders this show from being as unique and popular as it could be. (going back to season one I mean sun trying to rape sumireko come on bro) there are just instances in this anime that are so out of place and do nothing but further complicate how a viewer can sympathize and relate to the characters when they do out of character things, that also don't get talked about after they occur. the flip-flopping personalities got old quick. Overall this show can be enjoyed with its flaws and obviously the high rating and highly rated popular reviews show how beloved this show is and how I took issue with things that others enjoyed which is awesome and I love that people loved this OVA. I just felt I needed to express my disappointment with how the characters were handled, how the plot was disappointing, and how the anime chose to end the story and the romance. I thought the ending would be more concrete and wanted to see how it ended after watching the first season. (sidenote this is an anime original ending. the manga has a better ending and the light novel is continuing and gets way more plot twisty and adds more girls)
I watched Season 1 and then watched 5 minutes of the movie but I then put it in my watching-list for the next 4 years lol 😂 Ahh, finally! I can put this series to rest!! I've finally finished this series!!! Although I haven't read the manga, I did read the last chapter. And it's a very different ending than the one we got here in the movie. I don't know if the manga is better or not...nevertheless, both endings are wholesome, cute, and fill the heart. I do NOT feel empty after finishing this series. Rather, I'm joyful! About the anime, I love everything about it.The comedy is hilarious, the art style has that early animation look to it from 5-6 years ago that is nostalgic to me, soundtracks are pretty good, really loved the Opening and the Ending songs, Voice Actors did a great job in this, all of the waifus are kawaii as heck! I'm glad that it doesn't have a dub since drama anime is best watched in subs. Although, I think if it got a dub, it would get a lot more popularity. In that sense, I wish it did get a dub because I think it's one of the best! I would've given this series an 8/10... But since this will probably be my last slice-of-life slash drama anime since I've become a lot busier in recent years I find myself watching far more anime of action isekai fantasy genres, that this anime will forever be etched into a special place in my heart. With that being said, I'm rating this series an 10/10! I wanted to watch Clannad, Violet Evergarden and masterpiece anime shows similar to them. But, that'll be a long time from now. Bey Bey! If you've read all of that, I really hope your day will be a blissful one! Thank you!
Well, it’s very similar in quality to the first season of the show. To those that loved the first season, it is a cause for celebration. To those that hated it, it is a cause for removing it from their plan to watch lists. For those like me who had mixed opinions on the first season, you are likely to find another mixed bag in this concluding OVA. Going into this season, the stakes for the final battle between the MC and the conventional harem MC were well-known if you watched the last episode of the previous season. The method was a little convoluted, butthe result would be that the winner gets the main heroine. But apparently, the anime didn’t think the rules to this challenge were convoluted enough, because they add 6 more rules on top of that just to decide who gets the main girl. Yeah, it’s ridiculous. Yeah it doesn’t make any logical sense. But it’s a harem “parody” anime, so it’s ok, right? Well, you would actually be right, because the end product turns out to be ok. Just ok. The main problem that I have with this series is that it thinks it is so much smarter than it is. I would consider this to be surface-level intelligent anime series. It does some things that makes you think “Huh, that’s smart that it is subverting some of the tropes of harem anime. I wonder how it will go from here.” Only to never think past that initial subversion and proceeding to fall right back into being what it just subverted. This critcism continues in this new OVA as well. The whole competition is devised so the two rival MCs can cunning to win the main heroine. It gets so caught up trying to set up these intense mind games (like it’s Deathnote or something like it) that it forgets what the entire purpose of the competition is. Why does it matter who can get the most hair pins from girls? What does that have to do with the main heroine? I know this may be coming across as nitpicking, but if you are trying to be a “smart” harem anime, then you have to have a smart plot. You can’t have all of the praise for subverting the genre and be able to use the conventions of that genre to wave away your flaws. Anyways, regarding the characters, I think they handled Sun-chan’s backstory pretty well. You could get a sense of where he is coming from and it make it easier to see him as a character instead of a plot device. The catcher was very poorly handled. His reasonings for disliking Sun-chan were not realistic and his sudden change of heart came out of left field (pun somewhat intended). I also did not like how they handled the rival MC in this OVA. They just made him the generic evil villain to make it easy to root against him. No real effort put in to it and it actually ruined the uniqueness of having the rival being a perfect, generic harem protagonist. Finally, regarding the actual MC, I thought he stayed pretty true to character in this OVA and I thought his actions toward the end were on point and well done. As far as everything else, both the art was standard and the music was standard. All in all, though I criticized it for most of the review, I thought it was a pretty average anime that stayed close to the previous season. So if you enjoyed the previous installment, take it with a grain of salt. It is closer to a 4 than a 6.
I thought this season would end of a slightly generic note... How happy i was to be mistaken. I expected some comical, inconclusive end that would make me only slightly interested in the next season. Instead it moved me to really appreciate our protagnist is truly a best friend a guy could ask for. Sun and Joro is by far the best relationship in this show and the one relationship that has developed rapidly within the show. They were best friends, then enemies, and now lovers, platonically speaking (for now). I remember there being a plot about some barrettes and a confession, i think, but idigress the truest form of love is left unspoken and shown through actions. Sun and Joro are the greatest couple in anime history... okay maybe that is a slight overexaggeration but they are up there and I for one am definitly looking forward to Season 2 (if there is one). Oh and let's not forget the beautiful full circle of the bench's arc, being pivitol in almost every revelation in this show. It's truly the backbone holding up the rest of the cast with solid performances and hard-driven plot twists.
This is my first review. First of all I want to apologize for my bad English. Ore wo Suki nano wa Omae dake ka yo: Oretachi no Game Set is an OVA from the OVA anime. I watched this anime a little disappointed with the ending. The ending is Joro prefers to accept the love of all women and turn to his best friend, Sun-chan aka Oga. I know Joro took this decision to maintain their friendship, but I as a spectator really want Joro to accept Pansy's love. Of course I know that most of the Oresuki viewer really match Joro with Pansy because Pansy isvery smart, beautiful, sexy and loves Joro the way he is with the loyalty he shows from the initial episode. However, I was not disappointed because in the last scene before the ending of the anime, the creator presented a meeting between Pansy and Joro. I know very well that the creator has also matched Pansy with Joro, because if not then the creator could have brought together one of the others besides Pansy or brought them all together with Joro, but why is this only Pansy and Joro being brought together. I also know the creator decided on a story like this so that the other teams (team himawari, team cosmos, team sasanqua, team asunaro) don't feel disappointed with the ending and don't make a fuss between the teams. But still I, as a viewer and a Pansy lover, didn't like the ending a little bit because I wanted Joro to only choose Pansy and marry her. #TEAMPANSY
Ok, so, I guess this OVA ends the franchise.....Possible spoilers So: Story: Pros: Basically where the plot has left off were it was about Hose and Joro competing as to whom will have Pansy......And Sun-chan's backstory as to how he becomes this Joro's bestie and enemy ( well not totally Joro's enemy) Cons: Part of where the last episode about Hose vs Joro to compete for Pansy was just too trashy to begin with.Verdict ( 3 over 10) Art: Pros: Panty flash from the blond girl behind Genki Yokatori and Himawri's yellow panty flash at the end of the Hose vs Joro competition. Cons: Pansy's sense of fashion, when she's hiding her beauty. Verdict ( 7 over 10) Sound: Pros: The opening theme "Papapa" by Shuka Saitou, Cons: The closing theme Hanakotoba " by Sumireko Sanshokuin (Haruka Tomatsu), Aoi Hinata (Haruka Shiraishi), Sakura Akino (Sachika Misawa) and Pansy's seiyuu , Tomtsu Haruka whose voice was just too old to even be a teenage girl. Verdict (5 over 10) Character: Pros: Given that this series' title was "Ore wo Suki nano wa Omae dake ka yo" or "Are you the only one who loves me?" we can truly say that Pansy was the only one who truly loves Joro and Joro being this quintessential good guy has to play the dumbest thing just to make sure that Pansy doesn't become alienated anymore. there was also that Sun-chan's backstory , where we see him as to how did he become this bestie of Joro to being a snake and back again to being Joro's bestie.... Cons: Hose was just pathetic to be Joro's competition, there was also that part were I despise Joro for having to be this stupid of having to end such thing in a harem ending, even if it was for Pansy's sake. Also, from sun'chan's backstory were he get to have bench-kun with a girl during his middle school years, there was this thing that seemly complicates Pansy, cu'z character info about her says that she finish her middle school at a different school , but in that backstory we see what seemly looks like Pansy, were it may or it may not suggest that she may have once attended Joro and Sun-chan's middle school or may have transferred probably in her junior years to another school only to enrolled in the same high-school were Joro and Sun-chan attended after finishing middle school. Verdict (7 over 10) Enjoyment: Pros: given that this would be the Original Creator's , Rukuda's last works , we can say that it was enjoyable cu'z there was that ending that we the audience were hoping for and yes it was that Pansy X Joro relationship. Cons: There was that pansy moment where we see her in one of Sun-chan's back story, it basically makes the OVA bit complicated. Verdict (6 over 10) Overall: (Verdict 7 over 10) It may have has a trashy plot , but then again it also has that clean ending since the series' title itself wasn't misleading...I guess this was original creator, Rukuda's idea of ending his series, cu'z it maybe his only and last work......So, the question now for the original creator is "What's next?" That's of course this is were his mangaka career ends.
Ore wo Suki nano wa Omae dake ka yo: Oretachi no Game Set (2020) Continuing straight off from the previous show that ended a few months back we have what is an excellent OVA that finishes off the show. You do get a recap which is really nicely done that brings you up to speed in a very short time also. I must say I was expecting this to be a few episodes initially not a 1 hour or so episode in a single go but this way is much better. I will say for the final time with this show and one that is debated asis every waifu in anime that I shall now firmly rest with Asaka Mayama 'Sasanqua' as the best girl of the show since she is so pure and lovely. The art is exactly the same as before as should be expected. It holds out very well throughout the entire show too. Sound has the excellent OP and ED that was used prior which is a wonderful addition. SFX and other such sounds are superb. Characters don't need to be explained since this is simply a continuation of the show. For enjoyment it is great. You get a good recap, a good story with more depth to characters and things from the anime episodes explained logically and finally we get a good ending, one which even has the confession down even if indirect. So if you enjoyed the first 12 episodes definitely watch this.
It's hard to make a review on something that is so great than this show... and make it long enough for a review LUL. I'm going to say this once again, this is the best rom com I've ever seen, till this day, it's funny the characters are awesome, everything is right and this ova, more a film than an ova, is damn great in every way. This show is a treat on every way, as I stated on the anime review, this show is completly different from the normal rom com which, in most of cases, they abuse on the same jokes every time, boring charactersthat are predictable and added with a lot of fan services that doesn't go anywhere. That's most of the time, there are regular rom coms that are great on their for several reasons but, they can't hold a candle to this one. The jokes are funny, the plot is interesting, the characters are awesome and no boring stereotypes... except for Sasanqua, the tsundere, but, even her, she's, probably, my second favourite tsundere, and I tend to dislike them because they always do the same things, and this one, with Chidori from FMP are great. If you want to see a really good rom com you should watch this show, you'll be hooked up for ever!
It started out interesting. It had a good character development and it was also fun initially. Even with the little time he had to develop the problems between Sun-chan and his teammate, it was quite satisfactory. The upsets during the game between Yasuo and Jouro were fun to watch. So we arrived at the final part of the OVA, which Jouro wins over Yasuo. Jouro then declares himself to Pansy, but when we think they will have a good ending he also declares himself to the other girls and wants them to share him, staying with each one on a specific day of the week. They obviously don't accept it and walk away. Jouro does this so that the girls and Pansy remain friends, fulfilling the promise he made to Pansy a long time ago. But that is just a lame excuse and even if Jouro chooses one of the girls, preferably Pansy, the others would not stop being friends, and that it would show that the friendship that the girls have is totally false, since it depends that none of them stay with the Jouro and that contradicts the reason for the Jouro to do that. Furthermore, in one of the dialogues, the girls prove that their friendship with Pansy is important, regardless of the Jouro. After that Jouro will meet with Sun-chan and the shit becomes a fucked up bromance. An OVA that had everything to end the anime splendidly, since it most likely will not have a second season, and has become a nightmare with that fucking open ending. The artist who adapted the LN for manga managed to make an original ending thousands of times better than the troll director, and author, even though it was not a perfect ending and had some loose ends. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ -Translated through google translator
This installment in 1h-long OVA format, "Oretachi no Game Set" (Our Game Set), finishes (or so I hope) the anime adaptation of "Ore wo Suki nano wa Omae dake ka yo?" (Are you the only one who loves me?) light novel series a.k.a ORESUKI, which name I'll use to refer to the show from now on. I was waiting eagerly for this conclusion because it sounded like the stakes would fly exponentially in the last episode on the TV show, but... It was kind of a disaster, really. I am really disappointed by the fact that the main character wouldn't do such a thing as "I'llbe the nice guy!" or the main antagonist would go as "I'm actually a bad guy haha". So... As the first three episodes establish, it would be a not-common romcom anime, but, as the season develops, it swings away from the horizon totally until some shine of hope appeared when the last arc started, but... This conclusion totally messed up everything, so I don't think it deserves your time. It is not a 4/10 or worse because at least it made some sense still and had some "feels", so the ride was a thing, but the last moments are... shockingly disappointing.
It all started at a bench, it ended at a bench with a happy ending to the anime. With this I now have fate in humanity until I get betrayed one day. But I hope that day doesn't come. I had fun and enjoyed it, kinda new to anime but really enjoyed this anime. I was actually surprised that it came out as a happy ending since they all confessed to Joro. Normally you would have to pick one but he somehow had a plan and made it so everyone was satisfied. Well I can't say anything about the girls who confessed but really with that, everyoneremained friends and get to enjoy their school life happily I hope.
I'ts been a while since a Romance/Comedy/Harem anime has given me a really good time. I really liked the protagonist, especially the voice acting. I think, that's one of the best things this anime have. Yamashita-san looked like he really liked to play the role of Joro. Plus the comedy that went through, with great seiyuu performance and decent animation and story, I give this one a 8/10. It's worth watching this one if you really like anime with this types of genres, since there has been quite a lot of animes with this types of genres but, sincerely none of them have been able to givethis kind of quality both in story and studio performance/animation.
In the beginning, at the first episode, I expected this anime would be a very boring anime because the main character looks very ordinary, innocent, and stupid. Well, even though at the beginning of the episode the character design was very interesting and that makes me motivated to finish this anime. However, in the next episode, the Main Character shows his unique and interesting true nature. He even made a joke that was easy to catch. Like a parody. After that, I continued the anime and there were some things that were a little boring, like using the 'bench' repeatedly. But in the end it becomesa comedy attraction in itself. Anime runs smoothly and provides a good romance comedy concept. Especially the part of school life that makes me jealous of the main character's life. He has really good friends (at the end). In conclusion, it has been a long time since I found a really nice romance anime. I'm expecting a second season, but it looks like it's tough or will be long to wait.
The anime wraps up into this an hour long OVA. And I'm just excited to write a review, so let's go. STORY: The story picks up where the anime left off, particularly on the rivalry between Hose and Joro. The usual exaggerated scenarios come in for comedic effect. They are either a hit or a miss, as they are quite unrealistic. Examples are the amount of people who are in trouble right next to Joro and the absurd number of girls giving barrettes without much curiosity from them. I, for one, would ask why someone would want one, particularly at a certain meetup location. But ignoring those,it gives a somehow open ending for the series. ART: Beautiful character designs. Nice color - not saturated nor too vibrant. Part of the reason I like this series. SOUND: Catchy songs carried over from the main series. And they're good! CHARACTER: This is the only part I got quite disappointed. So many new girls that have good character designs but have 0 backstory. The girls Joro helped and the skewer girl all look like they're supposed to be someone I should know, but I don't. Now, they might continue the series and introduce those girls, but eh. ENJOYMENT: Pretty fun to watch, and that's because I enjoyed the series. OVERALL: Good watch! It closed the arc with Hose. If you watched the series, watching this is a no-brainer.
