Just watched the movie in Singapore, Overall I think that it okay, same thing, again All the Character in class 2 including Shield Hero Party got Isekai/teleported into another world again LOL, as you can see it on the trailer itself. As this is a no-spoiler review, all I can said that the story plot isn’t that exciting and expectations end up all the same references that you can seen it from each of their own anime. Still it makes me laugh a lot LOL. Some characters really show their true strength that you didn’t expected/seem on their own anime. Don’t worried, this is not season3 for sure, and another two surprise characters are added into Class 2 LOL at the end of the movie end credits. The clue is actually seen on their movie poster.
Isekai Quartet is back again with a movie installment while still retaining it's chibi artsyle and how it is? Well it's alright I guess. The first two seasons are more enjoyable but I guess I wouldn't say this is a complete waste of my time. Let's be honest we're all watching Isekai Quartet just to see the cool crossover aspect and character interactions between the different isekai series and this movie continues to deliver just that with pairngs you rarely see before like Kazuma & Ainz, Subaru & Demiurge, Naofumi and Tanya's henchman and more and their interactions are still relatively charming. The jokes arepretty much what you expect from the series with it mostly coming from the character's usual schtick and references to their original series though I do admit Kazuma stealing panty joke does get pretty old and predictable but it does subverts the expectation at the end with him doing a really nice thing for the new characters with his steal ability which I can appreciate. Also for some reason Subaru and Beatrice relationship seems like it carries over post season 2 which is weird, do the Re Zero characters jump out of the Isekai Quartet world and back to their original world and then after S2 jump back to the Isekai Quartet world? I don't really know how that works tbh. And if it does happen post S2 then shouldn't Rem still be asleep? Oh well I guess it doesn't for a non canon series like this. Speking of the new characters though, I like how each of them represents each of the Isekai series (excluding Overlord and Shield Hero) and they have pretty understandable motivations for what they're doing as well. Though I do wish they build up Pantagruel and Vera's friendship more before the climax or at least show more screen time of their friendship because I don't really feel a bond between them at all which is why the emotional moments during the last third of the movie felt kinda forced. But the characters themselves are still enjoyable to watch and their interaction with the other Isekai characters are pretty nice. The plot itself surrounding the characters isn't very interesting though, I just felt like the serious tone is odd and out of place for a wacky crossover chibi series like and I absolutely cannot take it seriously. The animation still keeps that chibi artstyle from the orginal show again like I said but there is at least more movements shown in the movie so that's something I suppose. I don't really know if that counts as a compliment but hey at least the climax is neat. Overall it's an ok movie that's not going to wow anyone over but if you enoyed the first two seasons chances are you might find some enjoyment from this movie as well. Though this series really does not need a grand epic story around it as watching the characters from different Isekai series just having fun banter with each other is entertaining enough already. Oh yeah also don't forgot to watch the after credits scene which added two new characters to a possible third season of the show. Good flick to get through if you're a fan of all the series in the quartet (quintet for this movie, since shield hero and his party is included) however for the movie they completely removed the setting from the series so if you liked the school setting the series has revolved around you're in for a major dissapointment, though as a viewer that just likes the series mashed up it certainly has that. for me the movie was alright, the most hypest part is the level of ability the characters show, both in their powers and just their interactions with everything. so i'd definetly recommendit for that if you're fan. if you're not a fan you can still have fun with the moment to moment scenes but its nothing special if you carry no investments for any of the characters or their source material
As I sit here painting, my partner watches in Japanese with English subs, I can hear what's going on, but don't understand very much Japanese... I write this review purely on how happy the soundtrack makes me, it is truly enjoyable to listen to, playful and impactful. My partner liked it, laughed alot. It's making me write a more indepth review, the cartoon style is cute. I don't recognise some of the characters but then again, I am painting an not watching. I don't know if it's predictable, I looked up whe the dude did a magic trick and that was interesting. I don't thinkit needs to be realistic in the slightest, I just wish my life had a soundtrack this energetic.
Well, what can I say? It's more Isekai Quartet. The bantering between the characters is still fun, and it just gives off those positive vibes. Everyone, maybe outside of Naofumi, is full of personality, and it's a pleasure to watch. Sadly, it has also become quite stale. Since it's a spinoff featuring characters from different IPs, it can't do much on its own and is heavily dependent on introducing new characters to maintain its entertaining aspect. And well, this movie doesn't add many of them. Because of that, and the very predictable plot, the second half of the movie suffers a lot. We get thewhole picture rather soon, and spend an hour on pretty boring fights and overused jokes. It never becomes bad per se, but rather monotonous. This anime is essentially just a filler to pass the time between the actual canon stories, whose release schedule is really bad. We will get Cid in season 3 before my beloved Tanya gets her sequel, what a disgrace. But well, I'm looking forward to new additions to the show regardless
Isekai Quartet Movie: Another World (2022) I get it for being cute and funny and bringing various shows together to make a comedy mashup. I wish it was done in the style of Fate/Grand Carnival because at least they look for the most part just fun versions of serious characters. For example, we have the Shield Hero who one-minute fights rape allegations, is in a harsh unforgiving world and then it's like let's make cakes and work together team! It just doesn't feel right in that sense. Tanya is a cruel, evil, sadistic monster but it is fine she looks cute now. The art is Chibiobviously, it looks cute. The voices are all correct. The sound is okay. Some of the shows sounded epic like Tanya Evil has an amazing, deep, roaring sound but not here. The characters all relate to someone we know and anime shows we have watched or at least should have. I don't get the people that have not watched them and still watch and review this. Just because you drove your family car on private land doesn't mean you can drive it on the roads. The issue here is seasons 1 and 2 were a laugh, about being funny and this was trying to have a storyline that made it look like a serious Chibi anime, and that did not work. It just feels very flat and dull. The individual characters have merit in keeping their personas, that's all. One minute you are prepared to give up everything for your world and life but then you made a friend so it doesn't matter anymore. 4/10. Wonder when we will next see the professor.
I really think the Isekai Quartet series is cute. I like seeing how the characters from these different shows interact in a very low stakes setting. I find it funny and I can just relax and enjoy it without having to pay attention to every detail. I think it's funny and a clever concept. I think this movie in particular was a decent addition and my only real gripe is I wish it ever got dubbed I'm not a huge fan of subtitles because I don't really have the attention span for them. But for this I sucked it up because I'm invested in theseries. The story of this one was pretty forgettable and this show doesn't really lend itself to longer stories like this in it's original format. I think they should stick to their original format with the short 15 minute episodes. I appreciate the attempt was made though.
