A somewhat different, yet a worthy sequel for Isekai Maou. I see many people being disappointed by many things with this season. The lack of character development, or a not very deep story, but honestly that was never what Isekai Maou tried to be. From S1 it was obvious that it puts the "Ecchi" aspect in the middle, along with Diablo being OP. Now, what's different in S2 is that it feels like Diablo got somewhat of a nerf. It feels like it's harder for him now to beat his enemies compared to before, but on the other hand (and this is where I believe S2 shines) theEcchi took a step up. Random jiggle physics, random strips and lewd jokes are the things that make the show for me, and honestly? It was glorious. We get introduced to a few more girls for Diablo's Harem, which I really liked. Yet, they didn't make Shera or Rem feel like they got gutted or anything in their roles. An unfortunate thing that I do believe kind of sucks, is that the animation takes a hit just a few episodes in, and it becomes quite a slideshow, which is a shame. The OP/ED took a huge step up this time as well. The OP and ED, by Serizawa Yu (Shera's VA) along with DJ KOO & MOTSU did a great job at making really catchy songs! Overall, if you liked S1, you'd probably like S2 as well, as you already know what you're in for. 8/10
Oh God this was a train wreck. Story: The first season of Isekai Maou had actual stakes, characters I cared about and very timely ecchi scenes that didn't usually distract from the main plot but it feels like all of the good from season one was thrown out in season two for whatever reason. Going from saving Rem and trying to stop the demon lord from being revived to a stopping the corrupt church plot with nothing to get me invested in it. Why should I care about this? Because some hot nun who's completely insufferable to watch? yeah no thanks. Art: The art is what you would expectfrom a cheaply made sequel trying to squeeze as much cash as possible out of the franchise. Still images with blurs galore. The fight scenes are laughably badly animated almost to the point where they're better than any comedy the show could try to force out with the millionth breast bounce which is fitting since that's probably where most of the budget went. Sound: The sound is unremarkable, nothing stands out at all. Also the OP and ED are so bad that I skipped them every time. Characters: While the first season was a good blend of comedy, Ecchi and action season two has none of that. Diablo feels like he's actually regressed as a character this season, Rem and Shera are relegated to background characters with little to add to anything (aside from Shera's tits bouncing every time she moves) and the new characters they introduce are actual garbage. I swear I didn't think any character could be as insufferable to watch as Lumachina, every time she's on screen she's either crying, screwing things up, being used for fanservice or all three. The end of episode 8 cemented her as my least favorite character, the second any adversity comes her way she just starts crying. Discount Aqua was fine though. Enjoyment I did not enjoy this show. The plot was predictable, the fanservice was jarring, the characters sucked. Seems like every other male character besides Diablo and Emile are just bound to betray everyone at the drop of a hat. Would you believe I called Battuta being evil the second he appeared on screen? Frankly I felt like I forced myself to watch this show. Overall Personally I don't think this season should even exist. It only exists to attempt to squeeze out any little bit of money that could potentially be made. Coasting off the coattails of the first season all the while having none of the strengths the first season had. Making every good character a shell and making every new character completely insufferable.
Here I am again, after almost 3 years (at the time of this review) of being this show's great Devil's Advocate in sparing what is then an oversaturated tri-factor of genres (Isekai, ecchi and harem), and still to this day, remains somewhat of a dilemma. With that said, Season 2 coming back to grace those who loved Season 1 back in the day (plus yours truly)...was much more of a convoluted decency than what was already established with the prequel beforehand, which ended on a cliffhanger that definitely warranted a follow-up season that we're only getting now. Let's expunge the problems with the sequel season beforewe get to the main meat: From the changing of hands in production to even the change of Japan's TV broadcasting stations. Ajia-Do did a fairly respectable job back in Spring 2018, and dare I say that the fanservice that this show provides a substantial amount by being under the paywall of Japan's premium channel AT-X, that is the only big bite factor for Isekai Maou's watching "excuses" for the "plot" (and believe me, it is superb to watch uncensored anime as people of culture) back in the day. Fast forward to this Spring season, and with both problems (plus a change in directorial duties to Tezuka Productions' in-house director Satoshi Kuwabara), Season 2 got off to a good start with all that familarity coming back...to only then falter with its decisions by handing off to a co-production between Tezuka Productions and Okuruto Noboru (yes, that low-budget studio which did the awful Hidden Dungeon show) and airing in a general TV broadcasting station like TBS (which means that you can kiss the uncensored version goodbye). Look out for a Director's Cut of the uncensored version of this sequel in the near future, if you want to remain as cultured as possible. People complained that Isekai Maou's story was unrevolutionary, and back then, depending on the side that you were on, you could love or hate the fact that this series mainly balances actual plot with the harem and fanservice. So for people of culture like you and me, we find it enjoyable to a certain degree that while the story is heaps dry and bland, the fanservice at least keeps the momentum going strong to likeness. And this effect would come back to bite the series, now in this sequel season where the actual plot takes precedence over the fanservice (which honest to God, is not needed, and that's why the broadcasting plan was altercated), and it bites hard, clamping on the enjoyment factor of the show to downright distasteful nothingness (with some good moments that fell short of expectations). The Demon Lord Diablo is still king of the series along with fellow supporting boing-flat-boing slaves Shera and Rem, and over the course of Season 1 we get characters like Sylvie, Horun and others to make the story churn out some fresh stuff as a set-up for more compulsive orders that needed the absolute chad Demon Lord's insanely OP power to qualm and resolve the endless situations of "Who's king" (though IMO it feels forced). New to Season 2 is the "You've heard umpteen times of how fantasy stories HAD to have a church conflict between religion and faith as a plot device": the High Priest Lumachina and formally for the first time, Diablo's personal stronghold of a maid, Rose. Yay to more girls to a harem protagonist, though with that many and come what may, the chad Demon Lord will still find it easy to grasp them within his reach and exterminate enemies from false truths to even fake identities. For that, the character aspect still earns a plus, but nowhere near Season 1 levels of awesomeness. I'm not an avid fan of co-productions, especially when series are already established from the get-go, because as much as production values aren't gonna improve due to current world events, it's the feeling of unnerving-ness when series have to stray away from what it was made out of. In the case of this sequel, the production took a lot of liberties by going for character cuts every so often that although by the nth time you see it and feels low-budget, it still feels jarring to break the scenes just like that. Most particularly, the inclusion for Okuruto Noboru isn't really needed as an outsourced episodic project kind of stuff, it's just in-between animation and a full, fledged episode production to their name. Nonetheless, it is what it is, and I'm meh about it. I don't know about you, but the one thing I find weird about this sequel is in the choice of the OST. Legit, there are fans of DJ KOO & MOTSU who find their music repertoire a head-banging effect (especially for the OP), and Shera's VA Yuu Serizawa helping out as a collab, but while it's no Aoi Yuuki levels of the Seiyuu voice when it comes to OPs and EDs, it's just weird to have a pumping song for such a show like this. It's an unique aesthetic I'll give it that, but I just can't shake the feeling that there is some sort of disconnect between the thematics of expressions. Should you watch Season 2 of Isekai Maou though? I feel that this is a legit question for those who've enjoyed thoroughly of Season 1, because this represents a significant tonal shift of focus that is both a blessing and a curse to the series as a whole. If you're here for the story, then by all means do continue where it left off, but if you're seeking for the fanservice, please stop at Season 1 and just continue with the source material (the manga adaptation of the LN that is, if you're looking for more fap material). Not great, but not to the point that I can still say that Isekai Maou is interesting anymore: it's just another ecchi, harem-fest of a light novel adaptation, of which there're hundreds like it that you've seen it all before. Just stick to Season 1 (of which have been extensively covered by both manga and LN versions), and continue on with the source material, you'd have a better way to spend time than wasting 4 hours to watch a subpar sequel.
After watching season 1 last year which I enjoyed very much, I was satisfied with the show. I never in my dreams thought that this anime would receive a season second, since most of these kinds of anime are just a glorified advertisement of their source material. But to my surprise a second season was announced and I was eager to watch the second season. And I have to say, that season 2 was decent (Some episodes were amazing while some boring). Main problem with this season is its getting repetitive. Apart from equipment upgrades and party upgrades, i felt like this season was agiant filler arc or something. Overall plot did not progress at all. This was the same feeling , I got watching after SAO 2.A giant filler season , just to introduce some characters and plot so minuscule to the grand scheme of things which can be easily skipped. This season had a slight change in artstyle, but it's not that much noticeable unless you watch the first season again. Ecchi in this season , also seemed to turned down. Maybe its because there was only 10 episodes to conclude this arc. Unless the story gets interesting, I would probably drop the third season of this anime (If third season even comes out , most probably not) since its getting repetitive.I also dont get Diablo at all. He already saw Rem and Shira naked a billion times , why is he still flustered about it?? I hope Author makes the story interesting again in an upcoming season. If you liked season 1 of this show , then you'll probably enjoy this one too.
You expect a sequel to improve upon it's predecessor in all aspects, be it animation, characters, character development, plot etc. but this one manages to somehow bring down everything already established in S1. The side characters in S1 are sidelined for newer and blander characters who get ditched immediately at the end. The old cast is so horribly cast aside that even if you remove them from the plot, nothing essentially changes. The new characters are not interesting in the sense that the entire second season feels like a filler season you'd see in Naruto or Bleach. When it comes to power fantasy anime likethis you expect the MC to overpower everything and introduce new magic but no such thing happens in S2 because this season managed to depower Diablo to such an extent that there are minor characters who wound him and are faster than him. Powerful villains are not a bad thing, however, the way they are used is quite underwhelming in this season. The final boss gets taken down by a single attack and it's called a Raid boss - the weakest raid boss but a FUCKING RAID BOSS OF LEVEL 200 WAS TAKEN DOWN BY A SINGLE ATTACK OF DIABLO OF LEVEL 150. That is only one of the hair-pulling things I encountered while watching it. In the end, as compared to season 1, this season is essentially a filler which manages to accomplish nothing to build the world, introduce and kill off pointless characters, does not setup anything for a potential season 3, and destroys a whole season worth of character development of the original trio. Skip it.
OKAY, BAD, NICE, WORSE, TRASH, DUMPSTER FIRE WITH A HINT OF CRAP ON TOP. That's the review of this show in one line. It has its moments considering it's mainly targeted towards ecchi lovers, BUT the first season has quite an okayish-good story to back the fan service. The second season I believe they just took a spoon of chili sauce and dumped it in their eyes and asked mercy of go before they make this season for all the horrible crap they put in. They removed everything that made Isekai Maou to Shoukan Shoujo no Dorei Majutsu UNIQUE. Now it has become just another isekai dumpsterfire with kilos of senseless ecchi in it. Thanks for reading, and if you're thinking of watching this, DON'T. I have warned you; TIME IS PRECIOUS; use it for something better like learning how to cut vegetables, which will help you more.
*********THIS REVIEW MIGHT CONTAIN SOME SPOILERS OR SOME HINTS FOR POTENTIAL SPOIELRS************** english is my third language so try to forgive any gramatical mistakes MAKE WAY TO THE WORST ANIME OF SPRING 2021 im genuinely impressed on how season 2 managed to be so much worse than the abomination that is season 1, in all honesty I really think giving this season a medal wouldnt do it justice just for that alone. oh well what a waste of time this was.story: everything is so very predictable its bothering. the events are copy paste from past events but in a different setting. every event goes as follows: diablo meets stacked waifu, she falls for him the moment she sees him because why not, she is facing a issue, diablo helps her becasue why not , arc concluded. reapeat . the action holds no weight, again because its always awfully the same. every actions scene literally goes as follows, diablo faces a seemingly very powerful foe . that enemy suprises diablo with his immense strength...diablo is about to lose, diablo yells a bunch of random words (sometimes with his harem) which resemble a spell. boom enemy loses, everyone praises diablo. the story itself is not as bad as the events (its your typical isekai fantasy harem ecchi op MC). but the execution itself is very tiring. nothing is intreseting since you exactly know how is it gonna. im saying this is worse than season 1 even though season 1 is fucking terrible. its because season 1 was the introduction so you might give it a pass since its introducing the world, characters , rules , powers ..etc.. but season 2 just took the events of season 1, wrapped them in a different package, and used them. The "humor" in this show is something else completely. Diablo has been repeating the same "joke" for 22 episodes now. Aside from Diablo's "jokes" there isnt much "humor" in this (unless you count the ecchi scenes as comedy). Diablo's "jokes" are so pathetic and sad that by the he does it on screen my eyebrows frown by themselves and my eyes get watery as im about to cry from how garbage what im witnessing is ( I swear this happened multiple times!). incase you are wondering what are the "Diablo Jokes" ( I really dont know what else to call them ) it is when he has a monolouge as his old pathetic self about how he should act as a demon lord or his reaction as a demon lord pallareled with his reaction inside his mind. Art and animation: art: decent backgrounds, semi-unusual character designs which is a little refreshing but nothing more animation: aside from ecchi scenes, the animation is nothing to talk about. eh, atleast its consistently mediocre/decent. sound: trash op, I cant listen to the first 10 seconds without getting a headache, the Ed is just as bad, and I dont remember any music used during the episodes which means its also nothing to talk about. the voice acting on the main cast is repellent, I might be biased because how fucking much I hated this show but oh well. I cant really compliment the voice acting at all. characters: Im very tired of the main characters, specifically Diablo, shera, lumachina (not so much rem but I dont really like her either) every single character from the main cast is very one-dimensional (except for rem maybe), its really bothersome. lets start with Diablo, he is always yelling the same nonsense for example when facing an enemy (im the demon lord from other world or somethingyou dare oppose me ? HA HA HA) or whilst hes talking to his harem if she asks him for help or a favor (Of course im gonna help you , you are my property afterall) this is all he says. the entirety of the 2 seasons. its a shame because I think it would be more enjoyable if he speaks his real mind everynow and then. not just always the diablo persona. it would open the way for some character development and it would give us somehting to look forword to. shera is just as bad if not even worse. all the time on screen she's either calling for help from diable, shaking her fat oppai pair or seducing Diablo. Lumachina is just as one-dimensional, she's is faithful and devoted and believes that diablo is god. this is her entire character. and like shera she screems in vain asking diablo to save her, but unlike shera she unintentionally seduces diablo enjoyment: I had no enjoyment watching this show. I hope I learn how to drop anime's because such garbage doesnt deserve my time. overall: probably the worst show ive seen in the past month or so. there is nothing good I can say about this anime (specifically this season). if you are reading this before watching the second season. Please dont
I dunno why but I'm pretty old for this kind of sh*ts. I remember enjoying season 1 as a guilty pleasure, so I was expecting something in season 2. But I don't know what I was expecting here. It's just bad. The fan service gets old pretty quick, and the whole shenanigans about Diablo being a Demon king from another world really gets annoying since other characters jumps from believing it to not believing it. Welp, I don't want to do a 12 paragraphs about ranting, so I'll end it here. Now to my review. The story is pretty mediocre to bad. There's really nothing here that stands outbecause the story is so linear. It's almost as if things happens because the plot demands so, not because of the characters' choices. The characters are bad. They are just bland and boring and bad. They are also bad. Oh, and before I forget, they are pretty bad. It's like the characters aren't characters but just an archetypes of characters or just plot devices. The type of characters I hate the most. But if I hate them so much, then why do I gave it a 3? Well, it's because even though they are bad characters, they are also just fun to watch. It's like watching your dumb dog just run around when you throw a bone or something. But even then, watching your dog is a much more time well spent than watching this series. The animation is decent. It isn't consistent enough and some of the Shots are pretty bad. But it's not an insult to my eyes, so I gave it a high score. The music is pretty decent. I'm not a fan of the OP and ED but I can see why people would like it. Overall, I still like the season 1 better because like I said, it's a guilty pleasure anime that has a balance amount of ecchi and comedy. Sike, season 1 isn't balance at all lmao Season 1 was bad, it's just that season 2 was worst in every way. (4.2/10)
After few years this series got second season. and i will give short review about this second season before go ehead please be watch first seasons. wi without any further let's talk about this second season of isekai hikikomori demon lord Diablo. so after end of first season Diablo and his party continue their journey. then they meet unknown nun it called Lumachina for main story in this season will cover her. of course she will become Diablo party. i dont want to give lot's spoiler about this season but i give you some my experience when watch it. Story Line: Just flat story like first seasons, nothing good nothing baddon't have any plot twist its juse FINE for me, but why i give high rating for this series? just because the story is flat doesn't mean this series is bad right? i found something that make me feels happy watching it. this series have Diablo with he bad socialization comedy, some fanservice, new waifu able character, and ecchi comedy stuff. so i think this anime have good portion for comedy and ecchi stuff dont give so much harem feelings even this anime lots of girl. Character: Ohhh Lumachina hmmmmppphhh i love her so much very waifu able character have some good in her faith, have pure and innocent trait, cute VA by Itou Miku damnt!, for other new character its just feels like mob chara who joined Diablo party and i dont give another comment about it, some character from season 1 have screen time in this season to dont give any development about main story except Alicia. for 2 heroine its feels they dont have any development with diablo but they gain new power from Diablo its just bad develop for this seasons heroine. Music: Everybody everybody! atsuku moeru furueta passion! *if make mistake please correct it. i love opening song its give passion vibe and friendship in lyric. no comment for ed song Art: for art actually this series have pretty good animation, for isekai demonlord based story and studio working for this series dont have big fame. i really appriciate this animation series. Overall this anime its just for fan and entertain, if you looking for heavy story and some plot twist, dont watch this series. but if you looking for harem comedy with some fan service and ecchi things this anime for you! so i hope my review wrote good enough, see you~~~
Mid. I try not to use that word, but there's really no other word to describe this anime but "mid". It's not bad, it's not good, it's just totally average in every respect. The story is your average Isekai adventure that sees the heroes going up against the corrupt establishment of the world. It's always either the nobles or the church and this time it's the church. The characters are totally average. Diablo is your average nose-bleed MC in the midst of a harem anime. Nosebleeding is so played out, I don't even really get irritated by it, anymore. It certainly hasn't beenamusing for many years, but they keep going back to the well more times than a crackhead goes back to the pipe. Like a 30 year old who gets zero kitty, finding himself in a muscular body with big titty thots trying to get that meat would be nosebleeding and running away still after two seasons worth of adventures? Stop it, already. I get that if he actually smashed it would go from Ecchi to Hentai, but you don't have to animate the sex. The realistic outcome would be exactly what was going on with that other demon lord with the three wives. (It was hilarious how angry that made Diablo, though.). Beyond that, the supporting harem is mid. I like them, but there's nothing special about any of them other than titty meat, except in Rem's case. That's booty meat, I guess. They're all just your typical harem girls needing to be saved by the MC and adding hardly nothing to the battles outside of taking down a low-level enemy here or there. The animation was mid. In fact, I would say the animation itself was dated. Like this was animated in 2015 or something. It didn't look terrible, but wasn't great either. Everything, literally everything was completely average. The jokes, the attempts at suspense, the new girls introduced, literally nothing was memorable, but nothing was bad enough to make me drop it, either. It was just something to watch. This is the problem with Ecchi harem anime. They are strictly for showing boobs and don't provide much in the way of depth, character development, drama, or memorable moments. This is why the characters are exactly the same as they were a couple of years ago when I watched the (superior) first season. This is why there is never any loss, never any real stakes. Because it's just about making cute, big-titty elves who move merch and inspire R34 memes. And yet, when I'm blunted, I'll probably do this again. I'll probably smoke something, watch season three, and call it mid again. Because that's how you binge something like this. With a blunt and a mind that completely forgot the first season. You can watch this anime if you want. Is it time wasted? That's up to you. It's so average, I really couldn't tell you if you'd like it or not. I can say that if you've seen a lot of Isekai, it's much more likely that you'll be bored with it, over someone new to the genre. This Isekai story is like every other average Isekai story you have ever seen in your life. So, your time would probably be better spent googling "Top 20 Isekai of all time" and watching whatever you haven't seen yet. Because watching Konosuba, Overlord, Tanya The Evil or No Game, No Life is a VASTLY better use of your time if you want to see Isekai done well.
How not to summon a demon lord, a fine chapter 2 to a guide of summoning a demon lord the wrong way. • Well this isn’t a sequel I was looking forward to see nor was I against it. I remembered that it was somewhat ecchi and had a decently mediocre plot with a more likely cast than average. And oh boy this second seasons was a nice sequel to that, but still could use some improvements overall. • About the plot. It wasn’t terrible, in fact it was quite enjoyable. Isekai Maou s2 reminded me that this world was based from an action fantasy MMORPG with high levelof customization and seemingly tons of events. These events translates in real world crisis or encounters. I liked it when Diablo had ease at recognizing these things and thought about counters he learned in the game. This shows that the writer had thought about the expertise of Diablo as player instead of some generic surprise reaction. At the same time this was also a point which I hoped had a more rich experience. The part with the dungeon was very detailed and the lore behind it was very nice. But that same level of world building and detail sometimes fell a bit short at the “bigger” fights. In the end the 10 episodes proved to be entertaining but if only it was a regular 12 episode season then the fights could have been richer and longer. • About the characters. Our harem grows yet bigger. If a tsunderedere neko girl (yes more dere than tsun) and an exhibitionist wiener sucking elf wasn’t enough we need some more girls to get the full fanservice experience this time. With moments of “how is this not hentai” I’ll share my thoughts about Diablo’s new possessions. This seasons kicks off with the tentacle tag. 2 girls of which one with unnecessary big bouncy breast and dummy thick cheek clapping thighs. We have identified one of our main heroines! Our holy maiden Lumachina is so damn annoying. She’s kind, soft, death(?) and wrongly ‘summoned’ our demon lord Diablo. Perhaps the biggest thing that bothered me is that she was just extremely weak and didn’t grow or improve at all. In the end this annoying behavior was needed for Diablo’s character progression. Horn (no not the item) is a cute jailbait loli bunny. She’s cheerful and positive. She brings some fresh air in the character dynamics and is a character I like for her design and character growth. Starting from a naïve adventurer she hopes to get a fun adventure. Unfortunately her adventurer is Diablo and his party. She quickly gets a nose dive into action she hasn’t seen before. It’s not until later she admits its to much for her to handle. Her struggle and comeback are somewhat lackluster. The idea and execution are good and I like that the character has such developments. The downside was simply the lack of screen time to fully connect with the viewer (10 episodes are to short…). Rose, so beautiful but get to close and you’ll feel her thorns. A combat mecha maid with an open back uniform. Perfect. While she is almost the generic “I’ll serve you to the end of the world” type of character (like Raphtalia - shield hero) she actually has a decent amount of lines and her personality shines through them. Its almost impressive how generic yet unique and likeable she is. I wish I had such a great assistant. As for the rest of the party. Well they stay mostly the same. I still like it that Diablo’s true nature gets exposed over time but that he also learns to adapt and sometimes even enjoy the lucky-lecher moments he gets. This makes sure that not every encounter turns in a generic embarrassment moment. The other side characters had plenty of fill but weren’t anything to special. The subtle foreshadowing of a bigger event is done very neatly. • The things I disliked about Isekai Maou S2 The damn fighting animations. I mean specifically that the screen turns almost black when there is fast paced action going on. If it’s one thing I hate is this in action scenes. Sometimes the story felt a bit shallow at some points but it wasn’t a deal breaker. Overall a very nice story. The ending feels to rushed and there was no dedication towards a real fight. Making the main character looking strong by throwing a stronger enemy in front of him is a bad plot mechanic. I’m glad that it was avoided here by using enemies which simply are clever are at least present with a decent amount of brains instead of the evil types that laugh and proceed to die anyways. This one is a double edge sword. Yes I do like spice and fanservice in my anime, but damn. I had so many scenes where I thought “how is this pg-13 rated??”. You either like it (and watch with headphones) or this is a hard skip for you • All in all Isekai Maou S2 is a fine sequel which picks up the pace very nice. We get to see our favorite characters again and some of the side characters get their screen time replaced for others. The overall animation and music was good, but mind the severe lack in decent combat animation. I enjoyed seeing perverted elf stuff and the casual bakadera x tsundere fighting for harem-kun but it wasn’t a bother to look at. This is just your average trash-harem-isekai but I had fun watching this and I definitely recommend it if you’ve seen season 1.
How not to care about a product. This should be this season's title. Or how to destroy a franchise. I have truly enjoyed the first season, giving an overall 8 score. However, this second season is nothing more than disappointment. Lumachina-chan introduction has destroyed the anime. There is no plot, ALL the characters disappears in nothingness with not even an inch of thickness, not a surprise, not a twist, nothing worth speaking. Nothing, absolutely nothing. The whole season is just a continuous fan service long episode with only one plot : Lumichina is naive and morally bonded and Diablo saves the situation. Everyone else is there toproduce fan service scene (which I believe count for at least one third of the running time. So if you are looking for oppai you will enjoy this series, because owing a functional brain is not required to enjoy those) Do not waste your time on this season. I did just because I could not believe how bad it was and I was curious to see how deep this horrific season could go and of course ... they went all in, reaching the bottom of the barrel and then scrape it more ... Goodbye Diablo, you were fun, now you evaporated
Who would have thought that this anime would get a second season, thank you to everyone involved in making this second season. In the second season, I didn't really like it, because it was related to religion. Moreover, Diablo is considered a God, I don't like that. Even so, I still quite like this anime, especially the part where Diablo kills the enemy with lots of girls, This part should have been made more dramatic and epic, so that loners like me would be satisfied, lol. For the opening song, I was quite surprised by the song like DJ, I really like this song and often play thesong. For the rest, I think this anime is quite boring, both in terms of the storyline and the characters themselves. Diablo hasn't changed much from its first season, so the comedy and Tsukomi I'm a little tired of seeing. I hope there is a third season with more quality and interesting stories.
Omega felt more like it was a bunch of a Bonus Season than a full fledged series as the charm of s1 was somewhat lost in this one. I think for me the main thing i feel this way is probably due to these factors: -The quality of the animation seems to have gotten lower compared to s1(not the worst but certainly a bit noticeable) -Shera and Rem pretty much took a back seat throughout the season and the others from s1 barely made a dent. -While there were comedic moments they felt sort of stale, less frequently and more dry compared to the stuff shown in s1. -The second halfof the series even as none ln reader felt like there was a lot of rushing and pace was all over the place. it really needed 12 ep instead of 10ep i think. Still it was an enjoyable experience, i mean after s1 finished airing, most of us probably never expected a s2 to be made as these shows usually just get that one-off ln promotion season and that is it. So il take it and i still recommend people to watch it, if they have nothing else to watch and want spend watching a show with a bit of light humor and ecchiness tossed on the side. 7.5/10 overall.
tl;dr if you liked S1, you'll be majorly let down. Don't recommend. Since I didn't review S1, there will be some plot points from S1 as well here. The second season of Isekai Maou lacked everything that made S1 acceptable and emphasized instead the fanservice and harem aspects of the show. Whereas in S1 the MC faced some challenges and the viewer felt like some meaningful plot points were being made, the whole of S2 was a side quest to help out a harem interest, along the way picking up two more harem interests and defeating enemies with absolute ease. I can only think of one fightin S2 that can actually be described as a fight and even then most the "action" is stop action, split screen, visual effect farce. It's laughable how bad the fight and normal animations are compared to how well the obscene amount of fanservice is animated. It feels like a new producer was assigned to the anime; a super-perverted one who only wants boobs and panties. There's no depth to the story at all. I did no thinking watching this season and was instead spoon fed "morals" and righteousness like an ape. Where season 1 had some emotional scenes (albeit heavy-handed), S2 just didn't try. It's all incel chauvinistic cliche lines and MacGuffins everywhere. Definitely don't recommend.
Overall - 4/10 As a cultured ecchi addict I feel obligated to write this review. Who doesn't like anime titties? I know I love them. Isekai Maou to Shoukan Shoujo no Dorei Majutsu Ω is a cultured show full of the trashiest fan service. However this show has many problems. Unlike season one there is little to no plot, development, or fight scenes and instead has entire episodes delicate to fan service. To make it worse the fan service is mediocre and very average. Story - 3/10 Are you expecting plot or are you expecting the "plot". The story is overused and very cliche. The little* developmentthis show had is destroyed by useless puns and fan service. Every single turn of event is expected. This season is very stretched, up to a point that some episodes are not worth watching. This entire season does not add anything to the story. I wasn't expecting much, but damnnnn its absolute dog water. Art - 3/10 How does one make the animation and art so generic and average? Unlike season one the animation and art is very lazy, many scenes resorting to close ups of completely random "objects". We no longer have the unique feeling it had from season one. Sound - 3/10 Normally I don't care about the music, va, or sounds. I wouldn't complain about the music since music is different for every person. However they play the intro theme a excessive amount of times throughout the series, up to 3, 4 times in a single episode. The music is bad, it doesn't add depth, nor does it even fit. Even the moaning seems to be lazy :/ Character - 2/10 We've gotten three new major characters in the season. Absolutely no development at all. It seems as if we will not be seeing them ever again. Truly disappointing since the in other seasons, we were able to look at the progress of both Shera, Rem and others. Enjoyment - 5/10 I enjoyed the titties. Everything else was bad.
Recommendation: A shockingly good sequel to a first season that I thought was not good at all. I was sort of hate watching it at first but it was legitimately quite good and it turned out to be one of the sleeper hits of the season for me. If you liked season 1, or even didn't like it but watched it anyway, this season greatly improves on the original. I wouldn't say it's worth watching season 1 just to watch Omega, however. On a related note, Omega is not standalone, you do have to watch season 1 first. Omega is a significantleap forward for the series in terms of constructing an interesting plot, creating compelling villains, and developing Diablo as a character. Yes, there is an actual plot now. There are actual jokes too. The fanservice, while still ever-present, has been toned down to manageable levels so it no longer dominates the show. I can't tell you how surprised I was that this show managed to be good, it consistently exceeded expectations at almost every point. Especially in regards to Diablo, the main character, who has become one of my favorite isekai protagonists after this season. If you want the negatives, the most immediately noticeable one is the deterioration of the art and animation quality as a result of budget cuts and a studio change. I wouldn't say it looks bad, but the action sequences in particular lack some of the visual flair of the previous season. The really unfortunate part is the anti-seizure screen darkening, which is so dark that it makes every action scene look muddy. When there are battles in the dark, such as the one with Varakness's army, it becomes almost impossible to tell what's going on because the screen gets so dark. The other main flaw is that the main girls, Shera and Rem, largely get sidelined this season. They get their occasional moments to shine, but they are very much in the background compared to the new additions to Diablo's party, Lumachina and Horn. The side characters in Omega are significantly better than those in season 1, and get quite a bit of development actually, but it does come at the expense of Shera and Rem and that's a shame, since they're the originals and you hate to see them get lost in the shuffle as a whole mess of new characters get introduced. Still, it's a very entertaining series and a major improvement over season 1. The plot is simple but very fun, the new characters are great, and Diablo is very funny. There are a few other flaws with it, some of the fanservice is still too over the top and Diablo's incel rage at Varakness's harem during their battle was weird and off-putting, but overall, this series was fun and much better than I expected it to be.
You just have to love a show as unapologetic about its fan-service as How Not to Summon a Demon Lord. Achieving a comedic aspect trough predictability and shamelessness of its Ecchi scenes by means of self reflection, which makes this show stand tall above the genre. You wont like this show if u can´t handle this. For all the true gentlemen of culture this anime delivers a very enjoyable watching experience. The pacing is largely fast and fun, delivering its strong points in the complex, vast and creative world building and its characters. Personally I really enjoyed the combat system, the different spells, interactions, butalso the equipment altering power and fighting styles. This is a strong pull for anyone who enjoys metagaming / theorycrafting in video games and d&d style role plays.
Okay let's keep it short i'm a fan of the first season that's all i know about the anime and to me the 2nd season was just a disappointment wtf were they thinking like all the funny lewd jokes were not bad at all in the first season but in this season it wasn't only bad it was barely even there !!!! I just get the feeling like they tried to be semi serious or something !!! Now was the anime all bad ? NO but i can count the good scenes on ONE hand so yeah to me this is just a disappointment froma above average s1 isekai harem to an average at best one i regret watching it tbh since i had good memories of season 1 lol this season just ruins them
