Review: Possibly the Greatest Alchemist of All Time I just finished watching all 12 episodes of Possibly the Greatest Alchemist of All Time in one sitting, and I have to say—it was a fantastic experience! What really stood out to me was how refreshing this anime felt, despite being labeled as a harem. Unlike most harem anime, the main character wasn’t a pervert, and there was no forced romance or awkward ecchi moments. Instead, the story focused on genuine bonds between the characters, which made it feel much more meaningful. The dynamic between the characters was truly the heart of the show. It felt less like aharem and more like a found family—a group of misfits who helped each other break free from their past struggles. The relationships weren’t about attraction or shallow infatuation, but rather about trust, support, and personal growth. Each character had their own burdens, and together, they gave each other the strength to move forward. The storytelling was also really well done. It wasn’t just about action or adventure; it had emotional depth that kept me invested from start to finish. Even though it’s a fantasy anime with alchemy and magic, the way the characters connected felt incredibly real. Overall, Possibly the Greatest Alchemist of All Time was a genuinely good anime. It defied expectations, delivering something heartfelt rather than just another generic harem story. If you’re looking for an anime with strong character bonds and a wholesome atmosphere, I’d highly recommend giving this one a watch!
This is good trash isekai, and I say that from a place of love for trash isekai. This has all the ingredients that make a solid trash isekai in place and a unique-enough story. It's a lighthearted and enjoyable watch if you're looking to throw something on with all the tropes you would expect. But at the same time there's nothing particularly special about it either. There's the standard OP main character that gets tossed into another world, gets stronger every episode, has a handful of challenges that are easily resolved, and minor struggles throughout. There's a fair amount of world building and some predictable character building. Ifyou like trash isekei, you'll probably enjoy this. If you're looking for something deeper or highly engaging, you'll probably want to give this a miss.
No - even for a trash isekai fan this is not a good isekai. Takumi gets alchemy and literally every other skill and starts making everything from toilets, to inter-dimensional wagons, to pocket storage. There isn't anything he cannot do, but the magic system is all over the place making it annoying to grasp. You never get a very satisfying OP protagonist moment. The saving grace is that the plot is fast. It felt like every two episodes might be covering a new story arc, sometimes a single episode felt like it covered what a normal LN would take a entire volume to cover. Theevents themselves might have been acceptable if the animation wasn't abysmal. Every action scene is a shot of a single still frame with movement lines drawn on them. As a viewer there is no excitement brought by watching this show, and with a lackluster story everything else falls apart. Yes, there is a lot of slavery in this as well - and girls who protest being released from their slave contracts. The other summoned Japanese people are constantly shown and are mostly irrelevant, but they spend 2-3 minutes each episodes showing them being generically evil. Takumi doesn't develop at all as a character; maybe towards how he views his slaves, but nothing that distinguishes him over any other protagonist. It feels like he just reacts as a nice guy would to everything going on around him. Overall, i would suggest watching any other isekai that has somewhat half decent animation over this show.
This anime is not bad nor good either it's like a fast food meal that tastes good but has an oily feeling to it this is the best way to describe this anime. I watched the entire anime and there were moments where I was actually enjoying the show and other where I felt like iam about to drop it. let's start with the bad points of the anime: 1. It feels like they skipped alot of manga details about the alchemy of the main character 2. The characters often over react to things in a weirdly pointless way especially the main character and there is alot of pointlessdialogue in the anime that I can't say I enjoyed. 3. The voice acting gets annoyingly sharp sometimes. Now for the Good points: 1. The music is great it fits the anime in a nice way. 2. The main character worked hard to use the blessing given to him in the right way. 3. the characters are fun to watch. Overall the anime gets a 5.8 from me It's enjoyable if you want a chill isekai anime and you like the idea of alchemy so I recommend it if you are into that.
Possibly the Greatest Alchemist of All Time Rating: 5/10 Well, to be honest, *Possibly the Greatest Alchemist of All Time* is just... okay. It’s one of those shows that's neither great nor terrible—it just exists. It falls right into that big pile of typical isekai fantasy where the overpowered MC does out-of-this-world stuff, builds a harem without really trying, and everyone praises him for every little thing he invents. If you’ve seen even a handful of isekai anime, you already know the entire playbook here. The story had promise at the start. The idea of using alchemy to build a new life and create things that didn’t existin that world could’ve been really interesting. But sadly, the show never really delivers on that potential. It ends up being super repetitive: the MC finds something, makes some "modern-world" invention, impresses the locals, gets requested to make *even more*, and then occasionally meets a girl who is either a client or a future love interest. That’s basically the entire formula, rinse and repeat. Story & Characters There’s barely any meaningful plot development. It’s more like a collection of loosely connected “MC does cool thing” episodes rather than a coherent story. The MC is likeable enough but has zero real struggles, and the side characters are mostly just there to admire him or flirt a little. There’s no real character growth, no meaningful relationships, and no serious threats to make things exciting. If you’re expecting an engaging narrative with tension or deep emotional beats, yeah, you’re not gonna find that here. Animation & Visuals Animation-wise, it’s just okay. Nothing impressive, but nothing offensively bad either. Some scenes look decent, some look cheap, but it never reaches that "wow" moment you’d hope for in fantasy shows. It gets the job done but that’s about it. Same with the art style—serviceable, but completely forgettable. My Watching Experience Honestly, this show is perfect if you have absolutely nothing better to watch and just want something to pass the time. It's easy to digest, requires zero brain power, and gives you a few mildly cute moments here and there. But if you’re looking for something significant, meaningful, or genuinely *good*, please don’t waste your time here. It’s really not worth it if you expect anything more than low-effort comfort watching. It’s just your standard isekai fare: - OP MC? ✅ - Girls throwing themselves at him? ✅ - Out-of-this-world inventions? ✅ - Almost zero meaningful conflict? ✅ Seen it all before—and probably done better elsewhere. Why I Gave It a 5/10 - +1 for having a somewhat cozy atmosphere - +1 for the alchemy premise (even if it’s underused) - +1 for being easy, casual watch - -1 for repetitive storytelling - -1 for average-to-weak animation - -1 for lack of character depth and development Final Thoughts If you’re in the mood for *absolutely no-pressure background anime* while you're eating or cleaning, it’ll do the job fine. But if you’re hoping for something memorable, clever, or exciting—you’re better off looking elsewhere. A solid 5/10, simply because it’s "just there." Nothing terrible, nothing great.
I'm not rating this negatively because it's a "generic Isekai." Those are fine, and honestly, most are actually enjoyable. I'm rating this anime negatively because the main plot of the series starts around 9 episodes in. I would have thought that maybe this anime only covered the first Light Novel volume or two, and I won't fault stories that try and adapt as much as they can in a novel. This anime actually covers over seven Light Novel volumes. Now, from looking over the synopsis alone, I can tell they likely skipped some content, but in a story where you want to see the main premise of time travelwork, the most interesting parts ends before it really starts. What makes this Isekai unique is that the hero was summoned by a Goddess years before a kingdom summoned its heroes. This is because that Kingdom has less than great intentions. This leaves the anime to dedicate most of its episodes to world-building and saving heroines. The heroines are more fleshed-out than some other Isekai anime, as they have attempts at more complex backstories, but their personalities drop down when they join Takumi. Takumi is probably the main reason you would watch this anime, that and if you really like the concept of alchemy magic, it's fun to watch him create modern inventions in this world, but they just don't do that much with the cool concepts they DO have. If I can compliment some parts, I would say the character design of the characters are nice, they're just "good" to look at, Takumi's design is pretty refreshing actually. It wasn't the worst thing I've ever watched, but it's hard to suggest something that starts the main story at the end of the series, while the previous world-building could have honestly been done in like 6 episodes. They keep teasing the hero summoning throughout the anime also, so when you're left with no conclusion, there isn't really any point watching this compared to reading it. I imagine for Light Novel readers, this was a lot more enjoyable, and I'm sure the Light Novel is fine, but I would suggest just reading this series if it interests you.
The anime has a weak storyline. The first season serves as an introduction to the actual story. With only twelve episodes, the story wastes a lot of potential. Given all the progress made by our hero, Takumi, the content could easily have been doubled, if not tripled. For this reason, the storyline has no significant highs or lows. At an episodic pace, Takumi literally invents new weapons and armor and acquires skills without any mention of the changes. Another criminally neglected aspect is the lack of romance. Although Takumi is surrounded by attractive women, he seems asexual. This is very unrealistic for an adult manreborn in a new world. In contrast, the antagonists are not averse to physical lust. For me, the anime is neither one thing nor the other. Just as things start to get interesting, the season ends. By the way, the title is slightly confusing. You get the impression that Takumi opens a small store in a town and lives his everyday life there peacefully. However, we don't really find out what the "alchemy" is all about.
“Possibly the Greatest Alchemist of All Time” is what happens when you put 90% of the most cliche and unoriginal isekai tropes in one place. Have You ever wondered what would happen if You’d take the alchemy premise from “Fullmetal Alchemist” and turn it into a generic, devoid of originality and bland isekai? Yeah, me neither, but someone actually did. And this is the result of that. Before we start I would like to explain something. I will be talking about “plot” and “story”. Many people use those terms interchangeably. I’m not one of those people, so to make sure everyone is on the same page… Iuse the definitions for “plot” and “story” as Lisa Cron describes them: “What happens in the story is the PLOT, the surface events.” “STORY is about how the things that happen affect someone in pursuit of a difficult goal, and how that person changes internally as a result”. So the story… yeah… there is hardly any. A story about a reincarnation in another world isn’t something new or original enough to carry the whole show. The hero doesn’t change during those 12 episodes in any meaningful way. He starts out as a nice guy and ends as a nice guy, just with a harem and power. Mentally he doesn't even flinch. He doesn’t get any moral crisis or even doubts about himself or his methods. Nothing. And because this is an isekai, our “special” hero is a master of everything he touches. Despite choosing a crafting job he soon becomes not only an amazing crafter but also a powerful mage and a warrior. Because having an MC with actual flaws and lacking in some aspects would make for a way better story that this and that would require a writer with some skill. Now… lately I’m very critical of anime because they are mostly repetitive. For every one that has an original idea there are probably a dozen that are the same shit with different paint. This one… is the latter. That said, there are 2 ideas in it that I like. 1. The whole sending the MC — Takumi — a year before his death by summoning. 2. The fact that #1 is actually a part of a greater plan, a shitty one but still a plan. Those two ideas are solid and intertwined with each other. The problem? The IQ over 9000 goddess decides to not tell Takumi that he might be the key to setting things right. Not once in the time she saw how he grows more powerful, gets powerful allies and practically becomes a prime material for a hero, she thought “Maybe I should tell him that shit will hit the fan soon. That will give him time to prepare and save more people”. No. That would be too logical for an isekai. She just shoves him into the world, gives him a blessing that makes it easier for him in the beginning and just leaves him. Yeah, great plan. No way this could go south if for example, oh I don’t know, Takumi turned out to be a power hungry sociopath or a serial killer with a boner for cutting women's throats and mutilating their abdominal region during the night (If you get that reference you are awesome). But of course he didn’t, because this is a lazy isekai and our MC has to be a paragon of virtue and the world has to bend over backwards for him. To be fair, because of her laziness in telling Takumi that he is her chosen hero, I thought that the goddess might end up a subversive villain and in reality she is the BBEG (Big Bad Evil Guy… gal). But that was quickly snuffed out by showing how the summoned heroes are mostly garbage beings. Listen. The fact that the hero of a story is a paragon of virtue isn’t a bad thing. It’s actually good and in 99% of cases the correct way of writing a hero. But this isekai has a glaring plot hole. Takumi’s summoning was an accident. He wasn’t summoned because of his heroic traits or anything. It was basically a system error, because he shouldn't even be on the list of potential heroes. That gives a metric buttload of space to create a hero that could be flawed in more ways than one, or a hero who starts of as a self-centered asshole and grows into a paragon of virtue or even someone who was a villain in his previous life and wants to change but has problems letting go of his old methods. In this case that would make a more interesting story. But we get the same old, flavourless, white bread protagonist that gets a harem we always get. Ehh… wasted potential. The plot starts out as almost a fantasy slice of life. Takumi doesn't get any kind of overarching plot and the running joke is that he is either blackmailed or indebted to powerful people who demand favours from him. That actually gets old pretty fast. As soon as he creates something from his old world that improves the quality of life, he is “convinced” to make more of it for sale. The first two times it’s actually funny, but after the second time I was over this gag. Good thing it only happens… I think 4 times (but I could be wrong) overall. When he’s not busy creating new things his hobby is probably getting more slave girls to serve him. Yes, as a tradition in shitty isekai, slavery is legal and encouraged, and as a second part of this tradition, the place our hero resides is “special” by treating slaves more like contract workers than slaves with no right. So of course Takumi takes advantage of this system and gets not one, not two, but three slave girls that way. They, of course, become friends almost immediately and start treating each other as a sort of family, because having an isekai with complex relationships with different power dynamics would require a writer with writing skill above highschool. Hmm… I started to wonder if it is a problem with the writer's skill or maybe the consensus is that viewers wouldn't be interested in an isekai that uses logic, psychology and sociology to convey delicate matters… maybe I’m overthinking it. At the end of episode 10 the plot actually sets up something good. The inevitability of a conflict between Takumi and his coterie and the summoned asshol… I mean heroes. This is actually good. Finally, after 9 episodes of not so good world building and team bonding, we get a promise of something that could actually matter and have consequences. Oh my sweet summer child, I thought the same and the level of bullshit you get as a substitute for it is immeasurable. Yes, Takumi encounters the heroes but they aren’t a threat to him at all. He dispatches them in mere seconds with no trouble at all. Why? From this point on, no matter what they’ll do they will never be any sort of lingering threat to Takumi. From villainy and something that could be dangerous and a source of stakes, they are relegated to almost comic relief. All because of one scene. They are just kids who can’t defeat anyone except people who are weaker than they are. A much more dramatic way of presenting them would be either let them win or, even better, to have a draw in a fight between them and Takumi. That way they would retain their threat factor and Takumi would have a proper motivation to actually train and become stronger. Nope. The hero kicks their asses in less than 10 seconds. Eff off with that. To be honest there is nothing in this show that I would call original, or even executed in a non banal way. Everything and I do mean EVERYTHING that’s in this show You already saw in (I hope) much better shows. This anime had potencial. Despite having an OP AF MC it could still work, You just have to give him challenges where his power either means nothing (like some psychological problems) or is actually a detriment (for example the more power he gets the more people are after him). Granted it is said, when he gets more power and influence, that more and more people will be after him, but those people turn out to be incompetent and weak. Not once we see someone who would pose a threat to him, or his coterie, in any way, shape or form. Now, if someone from his team would die and it would be presented as his fault, that would mean something. It would give stakes to the plot and story. But because nothing of consequence ever happens this show is just… bland, pointless and, at the end of the day, meaningless.
If you like Isekai, or rather if you like trash Isekai (which lets face it is most isekai these days) then you will most likely like this. If you don't like Isekai, or you want something with a great plot, great characters, a serious drama driven anime, then this is not for you, because this is trash isekai through and through. This series knows what it is, it doesn't take itself seriously, it just wants to have fun This series doesn't seek to do anything new, but that doesn't mean it's an Isekai paint-by-numbers, what it does it does well, it uses standard tropes, but its not copyingother works wholesale, it does its own thing without seeking to reinvent the wheel The pacing of the series is quite quick but it still works and flows well, the plot is there in the background to a degree that it doesn't get in the way of the series just having fun, instead it quietly ticks along to give you a little something extra and give you the sense that events are moving towards some inevitable end point. MC is accidentally summoned to the world, he's made OP by the goddess to 'make up for it' but also because she has her own hidden reasons, MC rejects the idea of a combat job but intends to pursue crafting and alchemy so he can have a peaceful slow life... and now the stage is set for general isekai trash fun. MC finds himself in a wood near a village (yes that trope) and saves a villager from harm (yes that trope) he's quickly welcomed into the village and soon learns all he needs, if you think his interactions here are strange, it does get answered later. We also have our first companion join, Maple. Once we move to the city and are out of the starter area which is the midpoint of episode 2, we start to expand the cast of characters and our companion roster as the MC hires slaves, the system of which seems based on that of Ancient Greece, where they are more like servants than the modern view of slaves. We also get the usual isekai hijinks you would expect from a series of this type, making items from his old world to improve his daily life (I wish there was more of this but it is what it is) going on quests and adventures, and causing a certain level of chaos with what he does. I'll get into the weeds on some points as there are some things that some people seem to have missed. The series shows you at the start how skills are learned and progressed, which is a very simple system any gamer would be used to, you level up the skill by using it. It focuses on the MC learning the basics of the world, how to craft and produce materials, and he spends time levelling up, after that it is hardly touched on again mostly because showing you him constantly progressing his skills would be repetitive and boring and take you away from the heart of things, but there are enough scattered breadcrumbs to show he's still learning. As for the toilets... Yes there is a big focus on toilets, Japan does have a toilet obsession after all, but if you were isekaied into another world and you had some of these abilities, you would quickly make yourself a proper toilet rather than what is essentially a cut-out hole in a plank over a hole in an outhouse leading to your cesspit... The most realistic isekai's out there are those where the MC seeks to improve their living conditions by recreating 'home comforts' as well as recreating their home cooking and yearning for certain foodstuffs, getting homesick is one of the most grounded things that you can include in an isekai. Is this the best series out there? No, it's not even trying to be the best. Nor is this the worst series out there. This is just good trash fun, something you can unwind to and not think too deeply about. it's entertaining, and that's all its trying to be.
This anime was alright, the best part about it would probably be seeing what the main character would come up with and the creative ways he helped the world with his alchemy, but the cliches that were sprinkled in the anime had me bored a lot of time. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind cliches, but when they are so heavily focused on it it gets pretty old after a while and could definitely turn you away from this anime if you don't like that. The characters that accompany the main character were all female and it turned into a harem-esk dynamic between allof them which is way overdone. They became relentlessly positive towards the main character and were very one dimensional because of it. Characters aside, the world building in this anime is probably it's best quality, it's fun seeing how he helps the world and his dynamic between the goddess and the way it affects the world. Would give 6.5 if I could. I might not watch a second season if it gets one but maybe if it's seems like the anime leans into the world building in the right ways and has an interesting story line. Let me know if anyone reading this has read the manga or light novel, I'm interesting to know your take on it!
Possibly the Greatest Alchemist of All Time - Yet another "Am I Actually the Strongest" derivative of Isekai reincarnation stories, that knows what it does (and does good to a degree)...with the caveat of it being just unwoteworthy at all. "From a common-sense standpoint, you're probably on the right road. The problem is, you're opening a can of worms you might not be able to shut. That might cause more problems than it solves." This quote, derived from the University of Houston's head basketball coach Kelvin Sampson of the Houston Cougars, pretty much sums up the oversaturated Isekai landscape of the 2020s. Because when one particular subgenregoes live and makes a hit splash (as is with reincarnation), it truly opens the can of worms to that subgenre to see both the good and the bad of authors trying to make it big with their showing, which slowly is being seen as more of a detriment to be given the majority of bad and forgettable ones, plus the occasional eke of decent and good shows to a degree. And this questioning of "Am I really the strongest?" becomes its own "popular" mainstay, as such, with the experiment being the showing of novelist Sai Sumimori's Jitsu wa Ore, Saikyou deshita? a.k.a Am I Actually the Strongest? in Summer 2023 (which was a show that I really enjoyed). And this breaks the bank for others to follow, like this Winter season's Izure Saikyou no Renkinjutsushi? a.k.a Possibly the Greatest Alchemist of All Time, from novelist Kogitsunemaru, which actually preceded the former being released the year prior in February 2018. Out of the real world and in with the fantasy life, but with a twist. The ordinary salaryman Takumi Iruma, getting suddenly summoned to the fantasy world of Mildgard by its goddess Nolyn, causing his entire body to break down, gets mended by her as an apology for the accidental summon. At first, this seems normal as Takumi is repaid with the body of a teenager and powers of his choosing to acclimate to his new world, which he soon picks up on being an alchemist and begins to fulfill the quests that regard him as part of his citizenship at the city he resides in to lead a quiet and slow life. But soon thereafter, more than the people that he picked up to help run his rather uncouth "business" of utilizing Nolyn's god-given powers by manufacturing modern-day items and marketing to the medieval old-timers, a rude awakening arrives that the goddess's aforementioned accidental summon...might not be one after all. First off, within the rather weak Winter season, we've seen Isekai MCs who are indistinguishable from one another, and Takumi is no different from the others at all. Sure, what bolsters the series to begin with is the newfound teenager's happy-go-lucky, carefree attitude that allows him to do what he wants, even if that puts a price on his head for being the most innovative guy in all of the land, or one that's a legitimate threat by going after him for the exploits of evil (since after all, summoned heroes soon become part of the story). Sure, Takumi is kind and sensitive to the people around him, even forming his "harem" of a monster and demi-human slaves to help progress his alchemy as a way to repay his kindness for saving them out of their circumstances. That's just about as decent as the show comes to being memorable for the small but significant things, after all. With the ladies ranging from Killer Spider Maple to the slaves of best friends elf Sofia Sylphid and human Maria, alongside fox girl Revya, this is the one suit where the show trumps over the bad ones (I'm looking at you Botsuraku Yotei and Kinomi Master) and makes character development front and center of its premise. I appreciate a small but well-thought-out cast of characters who are intelligent enough to know what they're doing and that it doesn't suffer from plot devices and the like, and Izure Saikyou gets that formula right indefinitely. By having a caveat of characters who are at least able-bodied to serve Takumi to their bidding, they all benefit each other in servitude and progression to not just be strong but also in spirit and in truth, since saving slaves out of their own lobotomy requires one's worth of care and respect not to be given the same exact treatment of blissful ignorance. Takumi's family of slaves-turned-helpers is a family that I can get behind real nice, though Maria always thinking that she's always lower than a toilet bowl, the gag somehow just never gets old lols. Don't go to production for the saving grace of the anime, because while Studio Comet's values are as decent and typical as they come, alongside in-house director Naoyuki Kuzuya and his staff team's effort in trying to stay consistent, this is as much serviceable and alright for the anime standards of today...if you're not trying to break the bank between mediocrity and amazing wowsers. Even with Dialogue+'s OP and harmoe's ED range being the same, it's just there, just that you either don't notice much or skip it outright. Though Izure Saikyou no Renkinjutsushi? a.k.a Possibly the Greatest Alchemist of All Time, may be one of those shows in the seasonal count that proves to be a fad more than virality, I did feel like some of the time here is wasted for better shows, but more or less so, just seeking the slow life that the show also brings to brighten up the day. A bargain bin that's labelled "extra time", because while there's nothing noteworthy, it's actually not bad and better than you imagine, but just don't expect too much from it and you'll be fine.
An isekai where there are 3 heroes summoned to another world by a kingdom using forbidden magic, and another soul that was mistakenly caught by the summon, which is granted special treatment by the Goddess (for a plot reason), as he shouldn't have been there in the first place. Do you like a 40 years old man that gets isekaied and acts like a 14 y old boy all shy and cannot act normal? Do you like having your MC having his status page at the end of episode 1 looking like the encyclopedia of skills in that world? Do you like random time skips that sometimes don'tmake sense, so much time passing and barely nothing changing, even though before in a short time the MC was able to revolutionize the world? Do you like unexplained stuff that you just take it like it is because why bother? Do you like moments that should have been serious but are too dumb to take them seriously, but the anime really tries for you to take them seriously? Do you like hyped moments that underdeliver by a long shot? Do you like dumb and immature decisions? Do you like repetitive magic spells like that world has maximum 2 spells for each element? Do you like... meh whatever... I could go on, but why bother, you get the idea. If you answered to most of those questions with yes, then go for it my man, get your knowledge of these types of animes, or maybe your fill... but me? I'm tired man... I'm tired... Thrash anime with basic plot that cannot even deliver the basics nicely enough for me to enjoy them... You would have guessed that by now, after years of companies making these kind of animes, they would finally know how to deliver at least the basics such that everyone can enjoy them, especially those that already watched something similar, which is not hard because there are always like 3+ animes like this every season... but I guess I'm wrong on that one. I'll just get to the marking as at this point, I feel like I'm just starting to repeat myself when it comes to reviews for thrash isekais, especially the bad ones... Story: 5 -- There's an overall story that pretty much will have its climax happen in season 2 (which let's be real for a second, has a damn near 0 change of getting it). The pacing is bad, the interactions are a lot like a really new, beginner actor's improv, too much sentimentality thrown and developed in the span of 5 blinks and 2 breaths, and conflicts that get resolved like I was solving my problems when I was 10, basically using my imagination of a 10 years old boy... Things that looked interesting, just made me ask questions to torment myself as none will be answered... basically a thrash isekai with underdeveloped plot, bad pacing and big plot holes/lines... Art: 6 -- Art is pretty bad... most fights, if not all, are just 1 picture being shown for 1 second and then moving to another picture for 1 second, or if they actually show some movement in the fight, that means the fight will be done in a few seconds... In rest, ig it's basic thrash isekai art... one thing I would note is that the nose of the MC from the sides is sometimes looking hella weird to me. Music: 7 -- Don't have any complains, but nothing memorable as well. Characters: 5 -- As some would say, age is just a number, and God damn this anime really shows that. 40 years old acting like a bashful 12 y old, 80 y old having the personality of 3 sentences and one thought, jokes that are making me ???, especially when I see them repeating, interactions that are like between people that never communicated before with others and are full of anxiety, and the sentimental ones are just cringe to me with the way they are done and developed (if you can even say they are developed). Enjoyment: 5 -- The more it went, the harder it was to watch, and the climaxes to conflicts were just letting me down with the presentation and build up... Overall: 5 Right now it has 6.60 from 31.395 votes Ranked #6492 Popularity #2599 Members 78,291. I cannot really recommend this anime to anyone besides those that have time to lose. There are better thrash isekais that can actually deliver on their basic plot lines and make them somewhat enjoyable. With this one, I only felt like I was hoping they could deliver on the next conflict and make it all worthwhile, until they wouldn't and suddenly all the time I spent watching until that moment felt like lost time and lowered my expectations even more... which were not met anyway with the next conflict. It just began to feel like a drag. Save your time and search for something better, or do whatever you want, I ain't your mom.
Another day another MID-sekai Looks like we got an MC whose trade revolves around Alchemy and creative skills with fair touches of combat. This is a 7/10 Anime and it is quite accurate to the manga despite the faster pacing. The MC himself sticks to good values and ensures to help anyone and everyone over him. Even though he was kicked from the original reincarnated Hero party for not having a "combat" role, he makes up for it in untility. This bro single handed solved the problems with sewage, sanitation, and magical living utility in mere episodes. There's nothing OP here, the guy is just using his knowledge tocombine with the magic world ideals. Story wise, it's pretty straight forward like any Isekai series. It's a relief to see none of the other characters are bland or generic repeats. Everyone has their own unique personality which adds a decent taste to the series.
I have seen a lot of reviews crapping on this show because he is "another OP MC" when in reality the MC of this anime is far from it. From start to finish he is ALWAYS constantly grinding on his craft to up his levels. There is no OP MC in this anime. His knowledge of another world and being an alchemist might give him an advantage monetarily but the ENTIRE series the MC puts in the work to be strong. The only thing that you could say was given to him was the blessing of the goddess and that just made things a littleeasier. Overall this series was a fun take on the alchemist job where the MC just really wants to live a quiet life. It is VERY SIMILAR to Knights and Magic so if you liked that you will like this! In conclusion give the anime a try and make your own opinion on whether its a 'trash Isekai" or a fun watch. Up to YOU!!! Rating 7/10
although a standard isekai with an overpower main character the series is great. Takumi your average MC that just what the easy laid back life but like a lot of these MC his cheat skill are just too powerful and his lack the understanding of what is common so he draws the attention of merchants, nobles and others it also a harem anime series with the haremettes start off as slave to the MC although he very uncomfortable with slavery and in the kingdom the goddess dropped him in it more like indentured servitude the art style if good and animation alittle subpar and the voice acting (english dub) us ok if you like death march to the parallel world rhapsody, by the grace of the gods or The Great Cleric this series maybe worth a watch
An entertaining series with some big problems. The story follows Takumi Iruma a middle aged salaryman who is mistakenly summoned to another world. However the goddess of the world compensates him by granting great power and blessings to help him along the way. Long story short while he wants to live a quiet life he is dragged into conflicts due to his great power and skills while gaining the usual harem along the way of course. Story: 6 I honestly enjoyed the story and found it a relaxing watch, however after the first three episodes that pacing becomes quite erratic. The initial arc of getting comfortable with theworld and meeting the first two main girls is taken at an easy pace, bits of world building and character building sprinkled in. However after that it seems to progress at break neck speed. Fights, journeys and challenges are skimmed past and various character dramas are almost sorted out within seconds. There are also some strange choices with how certain plot points unfold, for example when Iruma passes out when storing a beast in his pocket dimension. Let me re-enact it to show what I mean. Iruma: I will store the beast in my pocket dimension. Sofia: (as he is storing it) the beast can drain your mana, it's risky Iruma: na its fine (proceeds to pass out for a few days) It's not terrible but feels rushed. I get that there's allot of story to cover in 12 episodes but it can feel quite jarring. Characters: 7 I like the characters. Iruma is your typical heart of gold isekai MC, nothing too out of the ordinary. As for the fmcs they're quite entertaining. Sofia definitely sticks out as the most interesting one tho. She appears to be the main heroine and is quite a break from the usual main girl mould. She is a stoic and loyal warrior type as opposed to the usual innocent, kind-hearted heroine we usually get. She has a mysterious background and was cold to iruma at first due it but he is able to break her shell and heal her scars. I just wish we could find out more about her past and how she came to be that way. Music/sound: 6 No real thoughts in it. Average to good sound design and a somewhat forgettable intro and ending. Visuals: 6 Average art-style and retrained animation. There were quite a few powerpoint slide sections and skips at a few intervals. The only good fight scene we got was the battle in episode 12 which was serviceable but not the best. Overall I had fun watching this one and honestly feel it needs a second season to conclude the story as it felt very abruptly finished in the last episode. The pacing was also rushed which could be jarring but if you want something to binge in a night this ones for you. Not too complex and relaxing to watch.
When it comes to the story of this anime, I really enjoyed it. Like many other isekai anime, you might find the plot cliché and uninteresting. However, I think you'll still be able to enjoy this one, as the story is quite light. Perhaps the only thing I didn't like was how the timeline was explained. It suddenly jumps 10 months after the MC's initial period, then a year later, and so on. To me, this was quite confusing, and honestly, you probably don't need to bother understanding it, as you'll likely forget it and won't care much anyway. After talking about the story, of course, Ihave to mention the visuals and other aspects like music. The visuals in this anime are quite good, in my opinion. I was actually surprised to see that it barely uses any CGI. Even in parts where other anime often use CGI, this one doesn't, which I think is great because it doesn't mess with my viewing experience. As for the music, it's just okay, not great, not bad, as there weren't any memorable tracks that stuck with me. Overall, I really enjoyed this anime in terms of both its visuals and story. So, I can recommend it to anyone who doesn't overthink the minor details in an anime.
Well, to get the animation notes out of the way, this one's a isekai treatment victim. nothing else to say. Now.... Since there's nothing to be said about the animation, what about the story? Honestly, it's in a limbo of being decent and being bad in my opinion . Although the extent of what this author thinks is alchemy seems to be in a fantastical realm of it's own . Pretty sure building fortresses is not an alchemist power. And they really went crazy with it. The monster designs are all over the place. Some are borringly basic, and some are actually pretty allright. The highlightare obviously the monsters he tames. The golem he constructs is also pretty well designed. Now... the worst part of this has to be the magic system. It's just .... bad. There's at least one that's even worse though (looking at you Parallel World Pharmacy). The characters... are allright. Not complete cardboards but nothing special. MC is basic as well..... At least this time around his party isn't just playing a cheersquad and are actually taking aggro though,so that's a plus. The world.... kinda feels empty unless you need to fight monsters, and then there's like 10000 monsters at once. The time skip moments showing those other japanese are confusing . And not that intresting . One thing i liked were some small details, like the increase in physical stats when the golem got the new body (VIT STR and stuff). Also, the whole slavery thing..... honestly i'd like them to have the courage and have an MC actually treat them like that ya know... So the voices complaining at least had a reason to do so. Because they are called that way but they never feel like it ya feel me. And the MC tryina randomly release them... I mean Sofia and Maria could've handeled stuff, but Reyva would've been sent back to the company that gave her to him, since she's in a totally different situation as it has been explained and stuff. Or maybe they'd all have to return to the companies. But a secured good life is a good enough reason to refuse it. Especially for Sofia who's probably gonna live for hundreds if not thousands of years as an elf, so that time's gonna go real fast for her. All in all, it's another show that could've been semi-decent if they didn't give it the isekai animation treatment. Another one added to the pile as they say.
Possibly the greatest Adventurer/Hero/Simp of all time? To all alchemy enthusiasts, forget about it, this alchemy has no laws to it they’re just making it up as they go along. Before you, read my review I implore to read AeroGunz and Eatsik’s reviews which condensed very important parts about this show very well. First of all slavery is neither good nor bad, is it a fact of life. Slavery is pervasive it may not be obvious who is a slave or not but it’s part of life. If you feel a visceral anger towards it, you may need to expand your knowledge and understanding as you are currentlyunder a brainwashing spell. Second of all I am sick. I shall describe my condition: • I’m sick of being catfished: Here he’s an alchemist, but then becomes primarily an adventurer, then suddenly the hero.. • I’m sick of putting a character at the peak of unregulated, uncontrollable, post-pubertal hormonal surge putting him in-front of the flashing red targets of those hormones. No of not just one target, not 2 not 3… Can you guess how many? All at his mercy, his beck and call and then having nothing happen. Because he’s a good boy! • I’m sick of fake, misplaced, misunderstood, morality, ‘Paragon’s of Virtue’ as AeroGunz puts it. There’s no story and the plot refuses to punish him meaningfully for any decision he makes. • I’m sick of dipping our toes into controversy, not going through with it and leaving at the first junction. • I’m sick of writers manufacturing vulnerable states then having none of the enemies take advantage of those states. • I’m sick of establishing hierarchies and cultural orders then smashing them for “modern sensibilities” ruining immersion. • I’m sick of being spoon-fed exposition instead of actually doing it. • I’m sick of harem overload with several characters serving no real purpose other than to be a pretty face. • I’m sick of stuffing entire volumes of LN’s into 12 episodes. • I’m sick of introducing main characters as the pillars of the plot then turning them into jobbers. • I’m sick of main characters apologizing for nothing, like it’s some sort of virtue. • I’m sick of reducing the various levels of interpersonal relationships between the opposite sexes to this grotesque word “Partner” which denotes this charade of equality where there never was any. • I’m sick of narrating events to us when you can just show it to us in dialogue. I think you get the gist. I shall now objectively review this. Animation I’m sure this isn’t everyone’s first rodeo, our expectations are low and in this case, for good reason. I mean I was straight-faced through most of it but then the last 2 episodes arrived and I felt almost delirious, I thought I was hallucinating or something I mean some of those animated moments were mysteriously trippy, and really lacking any fluidity. Sound Just amateur, soundtrack was incredibly one note and in some areas in total dissonance. Rather poor showing here from the direction to the composer it’s lackadaisical. OP and ED, girls singing in high pitched voices ever heard of it before? Story Not Found, There’s a single character who undergoes any meaningful change. Plot Confusing, sped up, cut through randomly a puzzle of weightless events and tasks that contribute nothing to any sort of build-up. There’s no tension, no profound discoveries. Exposition which is repeated over and over again for negligible compounded effect. It’s all too easy for the MC. Let’s just add healing powers, let’s just add conjuring stuff out of nothing, Let’s just add interdimensional sleeves, and space manipulation/expansion. There’s just no limitations on him at all, there’s no hole he can’t just immediately generate a fix for. It doesn’t play like a comedy so it’s rather farcical. No social barriers, No influence barrier, and it’s just collect girls to put on the wall as a trophy, which is utterly pointless. Introduce 3 other main characters but our familiar girls good, man bad theology makes for an exciting bonanza. These are main characters built up to be side characters. What a difference those first few episodes were, focusing on alchemy with various non-female characters somewhat nuanced, fresh dialogue, fleeting humour, touching subversive topics like slavery maturely, subsequently 2 girls in and we are plunged into the valley of the shadow of death. The evil which we must fear, the harem. It loses absolutely all of it as we dive into the swamp of cookie-cutter, mundane mediocrity us Isekai fanatics have become accustomed to. Characters Initially seemed promising. The more I delved in, the worse it got, till I had to physically stop myself watching the later episodes, in absolute boredom and disgust. From the playing out of the dialogue roughly the same over and over again. Convictions recited constantly. It’s so forgettable and after the fact it verifiably contributed to nothing. To how much of a pathetic spineless simp the MC is. There’s just too many women, his own party won’t even let him recruit a man. It’s just draining to hear these harpies talk over and over again and none of them are banging him. I don’t know how it’s possible to talk like this as a reincarnated soul. He’s a complete push over, the show breaks the fourth wall at a certain point talking about how pitiful he is. It’s supposed to get better, but it doesn’t because he has to be “respectful” to his female slaves! Don’t get me started on this obsession with toilets as a gag. It’s utterly revolting, and just takes you out of any sort of engagement when watching this show a total immersion-breaker, didn’t laugh once. Why are we talking about toilets in a fantasy world? Final Rankings Animation- 5 Soundtrack – 4 Plot/Story – 4 Characters - 5 Enjoyment - 5 23/50 – 4.6/10 – 5/10 - Garbage It’s a shame because it started off in a way that was quite endearing, but it was all a facade. I don’t recommend you watch it, I have no idea what the source fares like, but on a whole it seems the whole “Greatest Alchemist” thing is an attempt to differentiate it from other Isekai simultaneously riding on the coattails of FMAB. It’s surface level attempt at alchemy foundation later pivoting to our modern fantasy classic of adventuring, pocket-girl collector, but you don’t have any intimacy because you’re a great guy. Themes mixed together hurriedly and achieving nothing. There’s no itch here scratched for anyone who’s particularly interested in certain themes, so I can’t recommend it in that way either. I watched this dubbed in English. A hard pass. Hope this helps.
