According to the principles of classical conditioning by Ivan Pavlov, animals can be conditioned to respond to neutral stimuli in unconventional ways by means of pairing two unrelated stimuli. For example, if food is brought to a dog causing it to salivate every time a bell is rang, the dog will begin to associate the food with the bell and begin to salivate at the sound of the bell, even without the presence of food. Likewise, if one happens to laugh his or her ass off after watching an episode of the first season of Mitsudomoe, he or she will begin to associate great humorwith the catchy, kiddy opening theme of this anime. Thus every time the catchy, kiddy opening of Mitsudomoe Zouryouchuu starts playing my face broadens into a wide, wide grin; I preemptively humor myself in anticipation. And all you watching Mitsudomoe should do so too, whether consciously or not, because Mitsudomoe is still funny. Mitsudomoe is a gag comedy. The basic premise is the same as last seasons: the insane crazy life of the three Marui triplets: Mitsuba, Futaba, and Hitoha. The jokes consist mainly of slapstick comedy and raunchy toilet humor (although the animators drew the line one step before Gintama and don't actually show anything.) Like the first season, there is no over arching plot or epic quest: you don't expect such things in a comedy like this. What's taken advantage of is the character development done in the first season. We have a general sense of who the characters are, what are their quirks, and what makes them tick. What's done quite well in this second season is the mixing and churning of these old characters in order to create novel situations and thus novel humor; no joke is overused or stale in this show. That doesn't mean that the writers have abandoned character development as a source of humor. It's present, albeit in amounts appropriate for a gag comedy. Each episode essentially contains three or four little "short stories," each of which is independent to one another. I also noticed that they have aired these short segments out of chronological order i.e. they air the class swimming in the pool before they air the segment showing the class cleaning the pool. Also some of the events are split into two different segments, i.e. the Christmas story, which was split in two. However this uneven airing of episodes does not cause continuity issues due to the lack of actual plot. I did have qualms with the first episode. Instead of an actual episode featuring the Marui triplets, we got basically a full episode of the Gacchi Rangers and their apparently screwed up antics. Although I didn't mind this kind of development, it seems a bit wasteful for an adaptation that lasts only eight episodes. The art is clean and consistent. The backgrounds are fairly detailed and the color palette fairly vivid. The one thing that may bother people is how childish everybody looks. The Marui triplets look like third graders to the untrained eye when in fact they are supposed to be sixth graders. This my be due to the stylistic decision to give all the characters especially round cheeks and squat faces reminiscent of a fat baby. This design is applied to almost all the characters and in the end is just the style of the art. For comedies such as these, the voice actors have the especially important role of not only giving the characters life, but giving the jokes that they make impact. And in order to do so, the voice actors often have to make their screams and expressions loud and exaggerated. The seiyu playing Mitsuba, Takagaki Ayahi does a particularly fine job of screaming “DIE!!” at the top of her longs in a squeaky voice. The Opening theme and the Ending theme are well suited for this anime. As stated before, the opening theme suits the mood and the style of this anime well. A catchy, kiddy song sung by the Marui triplets heralding the screwy antics yet to come. The ending theme is better than last seasons. It is certainly pleasant to the ears. It sounds like it's being such by someone with a voice similar to Rie Kugimiya's voice, which I have no problems with. The enjoyment level is certainly up to par with the first season of Mitsudomoe. I highly recommend those of you who haven't seen the first season to check it out first before indulging in the second. My only other qualm with this series is the length; eight episodes is certainly not enough Marui antics for me. Here's to a third season hopefully. The end of Mitsudomoe huh? :'( I'm so sad! One of my favourite animes is over! Well I guess I'll explain my ratings. Since It's basically the same as the first series, I'm going to copy and paste my review into this one with some extra. The whole show was great! I rated the "story" a five because, let's face it there is no story. Just the three Marui triplets enjoying their everyday life :) And their everyday life just so happens to be the funniest life ever! Any ways, I HIGHLY recommend this anime. It's so great that I downloaded every single episode in HD,converted it to mp4 and put it on my iPod Touch! It's not for children obviously. But it's still awesome! Granted they are young, and a lot of ignorant people call it a "lolicon" anime, even though they haven't watched the show. JUST BECAUSE THEY'RE CHILDREN DOESN'T MAKE IT LOLICON! I mean seriously (-_-) people judge too quickly. Yes, they do draw them kind of erotically sometimes, but the overall script between characters is HILARIOUS. Now, let's see....oh yes, the art. The art was really good. they made all the characters kawaii looking. It might only be me but I love the chibi style animes, they're just so cute! (^.^) Next is sound. Yes I loved the sound. All of it. The music, background noises and panning when necessary. I especially love the スイー (Suiii) whenever Hitoha walks by and people stare at her! Another thing to add is the opening. BEST INTRO EVER!!!! I never skipped it! Not only that but I have this song on my iPod and listen to it all the time! It's great to hear the cast singing this incredibly catchy opening. But the ending song was kind of slow and I never really watched it because it was so boring. NEXT is characters. All the characters were amazing, all unique in their own way and all of them easy to remember. Now my conclusion...Well I enjoyed this anime so much I rated it 10, but if the numbers went higher, I would go even higher than that! It was just such a funny show. Laughed so hard almost all the time! My overall rating is of course 10 "Outstanding!" Hope you liked my review! ;)
There's only one thing on my mind after I've had finished watching both seasons of Mitsudomoe: FOR THE SAKE OF "MORALITY", WE HUMAN HAD TO GIVE UP ON TOO MANY THINGS, INCLUDING THIS MASTERPIECE OF A COMEDY!! Right? If humanity could be more tolerate toward fictional 12-years-olds doing perverted things or telling dirty jokes, maybe we would have had another season by now. I really can't recall the last time I laugh my a** off like when I watch this anime. The gags will rip out your stomach. The artwork and character reactions fits the story so well you'll laugh even watching it muted. Splendid voice acting. Brilliantcharacters. There's only one downside to Mitsudomoe, that is it won't be able to please you if you're a Captain Serious. You'll enjoy it very much if you're used to the concept of dirty jokes/shimoneta in anime. Just be sure to wipe out your memory of this anime before going to funerals and such.
Mitsudomoe Season 2!!!! As i said in my review of the first season this anime was so great i don't really know how to express it, well it made me a fanboy that's for sure, this is exactly what i want from Comedy anime, i laugh so much i had to pause to breath, the only flaw is that this season only has 8 episodes Q_Q why!!! i wanted so much more >.> well dispite that we get a very original first episode and an awesome other 7 that just made my jaw hurt so much from laughing Art- 9/10 The Art is great, itdoes not rely on the more realistic design approach, instead opting for the super cute, funny and scary, Hitoha scary scenes are so well done, then you have Futaba destruction scenes and rampage style witch was done so well and all other characters have their own way and style on their moments. Characters- 9/10 The Triplet Sisters are just AWESOME!!!! The youngest is dark and scary, socially awkward but cute and soft on the inside, The middle sister is a pervert for boobs, so athletic that she can break walls but easy embarrassed, The eldest sister is sadistic, glutton but worried about her weight, and craves for attention. These combination makes for great and funny scenes that will make you laugh more than you possibly can. Overall/Enjoyment- 10/10 Overall i had never laugh so much watching anything from movies to tv series, Mitsudomoe is Comedy non-stop, funny stuff one after another, i might be over-rating who knows and who cares it's comedy or you like it or you don't. So i totally recommend this to everyone. For a Second season was really great!! i just wish they made a third, fourth etc... more more more :)
Don't let the kiddy-looking kids fool you. This anime is about the adventures of the Marui triplets in sixth grade and their newly hired teacher who often gets pushed around by these girls into trouble which leaves the audience laughing till their stomach hurts. The oldest one, Mitsuba, is sadistic and kind of mature for her age. The middle one, Futaba, is perverted and very athletic and has the strength of a full-grown man. The youngest one, Hitoha, is generally very quiet and gentle but when push comes to shove, she might just be the strongest, the most perverted and the most sadistic out ofthe three. Though rated for middle ages, the anime encloses adult jokes and requires certain mind set to enjoy. Each episode is divided into different joke scenarios roughly connected within that episode. It seems that MCs of Mitsudomoe has slight resemblence with that of K-ON! in terms of appearance and behaviour. Story: 6.2/10 Not much of a story, but family relations got my attention. The last episode of portraying a satisfied father is a fair ending. Art: 4/10 Not much texture or character design. The kids look like they are in class 3. But the funny effects, stunned pos,camera angles, blood, drool, etc all adds to the comedic punch. Soundtrack: 7/10 The anime has well made audio FX which uplifts and adds power to the awesome voice acting. This makes the humorous scenes heavily enjoyable. The opening being kiddish and very catchy is apt for this anime. MC: 9/10 I loved the triplets for they make the show really enjoyable. The voice acting suits the character animations. They are well defined and unique. Worth watching?: Depends on what category of jokes you can enjoy. Watching a single episode can help make that decision.
Hey everyone, I can't contain my excitement about stumbling upon the anime "Mitsudomoe." At first, I had my doubts after watching the initial episodes of season 1, thinking it might lean towards being pedo bait or filled with trashy romance. But boy, was I pleasantly surprised! As I delved deeper into the series, I discovered that "Mitsudomoe" is not just a comedy gem; it's an absolute gold mine of humor! Yes, it does rely on its fair share of oversexualized jokes about certain topics, but beneath that layer lies a plethora of genuinely amusing and heartwarming moments that have left me in stitches. During my gloomier and joblessdays, this show was an absolute lifesaver. It brought so many laughs and lifted my spirits like no other. The comic relief and the antics of the characters provided a much-needed escape from reality, turning my frowns upside down. My only lament is that "Mitsudomoe season 2" has only eight episodes. With more than a decade having passed since its release, the absence of a season 3 is disheartening. To add to that, the limited availability of translated manga chapters beyond 301 leaves me yearning for more. The show's hilarious moments have left an indelible mark on my memories, and I yearn to experience the series in its entirety. Despite these minor setbacks, I wholeheartedly rate season 1 a well-deserved 9/10 and season 2 an 8/10. The joy and laughter I've experienced through "Mitsudomoe" will forever remain a cherished part of my anime journey. I'm holding out hope that someday, the full translation of the manga will become available, granting me the chance to enjoy this series to its fullest potential.
