The story takes place during a conflict between the Krakozhia Dukedom and the Grania Republic. In the midst of the fighting, a savior appears to the Krakozhia Dukedom, and it is a high school student named Yano Souhei. Two female soldiers, First Lieutenant Ruto and Second Lieutenant Haruka, appear in tanks to intrude on Souhei's everyday life, followed by the enemy soldier Shachirofu, all of whom use firearms without hesitation at his house.

Military is a series of 3-minute shorts, containing chibis, heavy weaponry and tanks. It consists of basically non-stop slapstick humour, over-the-top violence, sexual innuendos and military references. It's not really the kind of show that will make you laugh uncontrollably, but it does consistently manage to put a smile on your face when watching it. Moreover since every episode is only about 3 minutes long, it's not like you will be losing out on much time for watching it so I reckon you might as well just give it a shot. It's a pretty reliable way to cheer up yourself if nothing else.
Bobulated
Military is a miniseries of short clips and are meant to provide a short laugh in it's joke of the day style. If you happen to have a few minutes to kill just short of enough time for a full anime episode, give Military a shot. Each episode comprises of a scene of the characters interacting with each other in over the top ways using different forms of World War 1 to modern to made up weaponry. However at the end of each episode they'd give a nice informational clip of a description of the actual military technology that the characters used. People I'd recommend Military to:warfare fanatics and people with short spasm of free time.
Paraturtle
Story: Absent minded and weak. The benefit is that there are full-length series with far less value to their story than this one had, but that's a review for another day. This story is really just an excuse to watch elementary school military personnel fire weapons at each other. In that regard, it works. In every other regard, such as proper linearity, theme, or character development, this is definitely not the show seeking to satisfy those needs. That said, choosing not to use those things for a story does not inherently disregard the need to review such content (or lack thereof). The real issue comes in with theEcchi, which again, just because that's the intended purpose doesn't mean it cannot be a problem. It's used as the joke far too much, rather than allowing absurdity and comedy evolve into something laughable. There are periods in which things are rather funny, and I will admit to chuckling at times, but the ecchi is mostly just crowding an otherwise potentially comedic military sketch.
Art:
We're at a time when simple works have the potential to look decent. This work is able to keep up with itself pretty well and I never felt distracted by poor animation or anything of the sort. This works out well enough for what it is, and that's, quite literally, all anyone is asking for.
Sound:
I enjoyed the use of grand military songs, but I would have preferred some more. It would have made things a little more exciting.
VA work is fine. No complaints.
Character:
What character? No, there's some character, but there are only tropes. There isn't enough time to write any character at all, so it's to be expected that everyone is just a place-holder to watch elementary school students fire weapons at each other. Nothing else matters in this narrative anyway.
Enjoyment:
Kind of boring, and a little offensive. Ecchi can be a joke, and it's been done before as fairly decent humor (a la Panty and Stocking), but ecchi for the sake of ecchi is a nuisance. It crowds the time-span that could be filled with different, funnier sequences.

Military! is one of those short miniseries that you want to hit just for some laughs and some quick humor. The references to weapons, tactics and sexual innuendos at our main protagonists' expense make the series hilarious. Story: For a pair of loli(like) characters to be sent to defend the child of a suppose Salesmen turned War Hero there's really nothing else to say about the Story. Simple and To the Point. Art: For a miniseries the textures and art style flow with this anime. I really like the dramatic look of expressions and detail put into something that last no more then 3 minutes long. Sound: The sounding was never ear-rape and the matching of the art and character make the series itself hilariously fluent.
Characters: Oh the Characters of this miniseries are all unique in their own way. While appealing to the loli lover out there it also meets up with the military person or someone that's into a quick hilarious time with military stuff and situation
Enjoyment: I personally enjoyed this series. It's not as long as 08th MS Team(Military Gundam Anime with 12 Episodes) but it does get me chuckling at parts and laughing in others.
Overall: I'd recommend this to anyone that's into having quick laughs while at the same time having military like situations happen in your own neighborhood as well as in your own home. And let's not forget loli's with guns.

The series is presented in 12, 3.5 minute episodes which made it easy and quick to watch and fairly low commitment. The question then becomes what it will try and accomplish. Here, I believe that they tried for too much. In 42 minutes it tries to include something at least bordering on a harem, comedy, and fan service (more on this later), all while trying to retain some aspect of the military theme presented in the title. All in all, it is fairly successful in the comedy department, but the series still comes across as kind of disjointed, in reaching for so much the storybehind it is occasionally lost (although this can be partially forgiven due to the format) only to finally be regained in the last episode in what seems like a final attempt to tie the antics, especially those later in the series, into the main plot.
The biggest downfall of the series however comes in its excessive use of fan service. I think it's only appropriate to quote the English subtitles from episode nine when I describe parts of the series as "boobs, boobs, boobs, boobs." Yes, many anime have the same sort of content, but a minute in a half hour episode is a lot less significant than a minute in a three minute episode. Now carry that time through nearly every episode. The sheer proportion of time they spend on showing breasts bouncing or panty shots, feels like they are dragging the viewer through the fan service and harming the story.
This is a good segue into the art of the series, nothing is really spectacular or noteworthy except for the character designs and, well, they're all over the place. The male characters are nothing spectacular. There are three chibi characters (all female) and then a few more female characters done in the same style as the males and then designed for maximum sex appeal. The lack of unified art style is distracting, especially at the beginning when only three characters were introduced. I guess the saving grace is that once they introduced the other characters they stopped trying to do panty shots of the chibi characters.
As for the actual development of the characters it was really two stories. On one hand the female characters and one of the male characters were well developed (especially for the length of the series's episodes). By the end of the seriesI had a pretty good idea of what each of the characters were like and I even ended up liking most of them. As for the other characters their lack of development would be forgivable except... One of the undeveloped characters was arguably the "protagonist." The guy who was at least partially responsible for the whole series to occur is a blank slate. Based on calling out the type of panties a girl is wearing when he sees them (among other things) I can only come up with pervert to describe him.
All in all, "Military!" is not terrible, but I wouldn't call it particularly good either. If you're looking for a quick, easy to watch comedy and don't mind sitting through lots of fan service go ahead and watch it. Despite its flaws it manages to be decently enjoyable and while definitely not a must watch there's no need to blacklist it

I got introduced to this show on this website. It was recommended to fans of the show Hetalia. Seeing as how much I love Hetalia, and the synopsis for Military! seemed interesting, I gave it a shot. By the end of the first episode, I was already disappointed. This is among the worst anime I have ever seen. I kept watching hoping it would get better, but it was clear by the fourth episode that I was not going to enjoy this one. Since each episode is only three minutes long it takes less than half an hour to finish the series. Even then, I feellike it was wasted time.
Story (2):
Military!'s story is ridiculous. For one there doesn't seem to be a main plot. In the first episode it is revealed that the protagonist (if you can even consider him that as he does practically nothing in the show) is being targeted by his guards' enemies. They vow to protect him, but over the course of the series put him in possibly worse danger.
Over the twelve episodes additional characters are introduced. Due to a battle destroying Souhei's home, all of them are forced to live with an older character. From here on out, the opposing teams (both of whom live in the same house) battle with each other, while still trying to live a normal life. It sounds silly and it is, but not in the comedic way.
I understand that this show is meant for comedy, but I don't find it funny. There are so many "comedic" cliches that it loses its humor. For one, there is a ridiculous amount of violence, but no one is ever seriously injured, there are plenty of perverted jokes, there are the unrealistic situations with characters that could never be that powerful based on their ages.
I like comedy as much as the next person, and I laugh many times over the course of the day. To be honest, I didn't laugh once during the twenty-two (I'm roughly rounding it) minutes of footage. Mind you, I laughed throughout Hetalia, so I can appreciate exaggerated humor, but this show was just unfunny to me.
The failed comedy in addition to having no real plot made me find the story uninteresting.
Characters (1):
I found almost every single character in this series to be annoying and/or unlikable. For one, there isn't enough time to really get to know the characters. I'm not saying that the timing is the problem, as there are plenty of other short anime in which I love the cast, but not in this case. The problem is that there is too much focus on the "humor" and ecchi, that there's no time for character development. For the most part, there is nothing redeemable about the characters here.
To begin with, there is the protagonist--Souhei. I find it hard to even give him that title, because he does nothing throughout the story. He is just there observing all this nonsense. Other than giving the guards, well something to guard, he adds nothing to the overall story. In my opinion, I think he's just there to include this under the harem genre.
There are the two main military women: Haruka and Lutgalnikov--both who look like children or preteens. Neither of them seem to have much of a personality. They both get angered over stupid things, such as having a video game interrupted, or the cliche, unfunny pervert misunderstanding. They are unrealistically strong and resilient. It can be easy to mistake one for the other, because neither have a distinct personality.
Now onto the antagonist of the story: Shakirov. She's the cute character with the blonde curls. Like the two mentioned above, there's not much that stands out about her either. She is unusually strong and threatens to kill both Souhei and her own subordinate. She has a few battle scenes in the series, but most of the time she acts as a daughter or younger sister to Mizuno.
The only character in the entire series that I found somewhat interesting is Colonel Aria. She has a few awesome moments, for instance deflecting the array of weapons only to get tied up in a trap. She has the closest thing to a personality in this show.
In all, there is nothing about the characters that make them likable. The only way they stand out is possibly by design, but even then it's nothing special that hasn't been seen before. I feel that not enough attention is given to the characters themselves, sacrificing development in favor of unfunny humor.
Art (4):
I am disappointed with the art in this one. This show is from this year, but there's nothing that stands out about it. The main character looks like an unattractive caricature in a world of recycled chibi characters. The chibi soldiers are cute, so that's one thing I can compliment this anime on.
There is nothing special about the scenery in this anime. The only time I was somewhat impressed was during the black and white bit during the battle of episode seven, probably because it was the only time in the course of the anime that the art had a different style about it. The same locations (Youhei's apartment, Mizuno's home, and Mizuno's yard) have a bland design. I feel that there is nothing special to look at in this show.
I do like the use of color when it comes to the character's hair and faces. However, their clothes are boring, the settings are boring, the animation is not that fun to watch. In all, I feel that there really isn't anything new with the art or animation of Military!
Sound (5):
The sound is decent. I have no complaints or compliments here. It's average.
Enjoyment (1):
I found this show to be boring. The fact that it was so short is the only reason I finished it to the end. Had the episodes been ten plus minutes of the same randomness and failed humor, I would have dropped it after episode two.
Conclusion (2):
In conclusion, I feel that there is too much lacking for me to give this anime a good score. The story is too sporadic and there is no real focus.
The characters are bland (with the exception of Aria), the art is disappointing, and the animation is boring. Needless to say, I did not enjoy watching Military!.
