As you imagine, a title like this will spark and make you scratch your head about what to expect. It's essentially about a guy who reincarnates into a world where women reigns supreme. Being a mob, or otherwise a background character, main protagonist Leon plays his life like a game as he's trapped in this dating sim world. At first, it wasn't easy to figure out exactly what this anime is trying to be. An isekai otome harem? A fantasy school drama? Or one of those wild unpredictable stories carved from the author's wild imaginations? One thing is for sure is the anime follows a recurringtrend we've seen countless times in these recent years: reincarnation. Whether he likes it or not, Leon is reincarnated and more importantly, trapped in a world where women rules all. He is pretty much a background character, a nobody like one those nameless NPCs you find in roleplaying games. Fortunately, the author decides to allow Leon to retain hs past memories so he has the knowledge to change the dating world he's trapped in.
First, the audience have every right to think this may be another cash grab at the recurring isekai tropes in today's industry. Isekai comes in all shape and sizes except this one throw in a few twists. Nonetheless, I also admit this show does justice at establishing Leon as a knowledgable protagonist. He may be a mob but he also represents far from being a useless NPC type character. On a mental level, he is virtually unmatched when he plays mind games against his adversaries. As witnessed in the first few episodes, he plays his life like a game. And for Leon, his games are how he plays by exploiting vulnerablities. He is essentially a gamer that uses his knowledge as a psudeo cheat code. A defining trait is also Leon's pride as he believes in his own superiority. Maybe we can call this a source of 'gamer's pride' as it may have stemed from his past life.
For a dating sim, there's no void for its cast of colorful female cast. These include the protagonist from the first otome game Olivia, Redgrave heiress Angelica, and the petite yet manipulative Marie. Between these characters, it's shown that some of them possesses traits you'd find in a real life otome game. For instance, Olivia is the friendly type of girl who has an inferior personality compared to her noble classmates. Angelica represents a more traditional type of heiress who has pride but does not arrogantly look down on others. And, we can't forget about Marie, a manipulate girl who uses others for her personal gain. Yeah, it would be easy to designate her as a major antagonist for her manipulative nature. However, I will say that she's less cunning compared to Leon but far more devious. This central female cast represents a typical otome game but you have to also remember Leon's role here. He knows events from the game and because of his knowledge, he can potentially change outcomes. That's what happens throughout the story as certain game events are altered or occurs at different time frames. In essence, this is like changing routes in a game with previous acquired knowledge. Talk about cheating on an unique level.
Now, I will admit that a good deal of the characters in this show are unlikale. Very few are tolerable at best such as Angelica. However, characters such as Olivia and Marie are filled with flaws. Marie in particular carries a personality that borderlines to psychotic with her childish and manipulative nature. The anime protrays it in a lighthearted fashion but who can stand someone who always tries to use others for personal gain? That reminds me that the majority of the male cast are forgetable. To me, they are the supporting cast with limited roles other than to be partnered with the female cast. Oh and of course, some of them fall victim to Marie's twisted plans so that adds bonus points for their uselessness. Leon practically carries this anime with his mental intellect and knowledge of the game world. Even if you don't like Leon, you have to admit that he is one, if not the most talented character in the show.
Composed of 12 episodes, the anime falls victim to a common trend with mediocre adaptations: failing to reach its full potential. In other words, you're missing out content from the light novel. The anime adaptation had to limit content to reach its audience and sacrifice character development with more limited storytelling. To me, it's a travesty because at some point in the show, I did show interest in the growth of the main female cast. For instance, Olivia getting bullied by her peers is an obstacle I want to see her overcome. Unfortunately, it didn't change my mind based on my initial impressions. There's so little character development in the show that I just gave up on them.
What does director Kazuya Miura and studio ENGI have in common? He literally directed four of the five projects produced by this studio since they've aired. And to me, they were produced with mixed results. Now, I'm not saying ENGI failed as a production studio because they did manage to animate this show with some highlights. For instance, character designs are lavishly crafted with beauty and elegance. The female cast has their feminine charm while the male roster are decorated with handsomeness that you'd expect out of an otome game. Only Leon has the average look because of his 'mob' status. However, animation quality with its character expressions are questionable. Almost all the characters have similar faces and at times, their expressions feels off. One of the major distractions is the female character designs with their eyes, most distinctively involving Angelica. Nonetheless, I'll give credit where credit is due. ENGI did manage to reach expectations with their work. Similarly, the voice acting in this show gives off an aura of charisma. My only complaint is Olivia, who shows far too much vulnerablility that makes me want to glue my ears shut.
In my disappointment, I have to confess that the anime felt little more than advertisement of the novels. There's just not enough to make me hungry for more unless they make an actual bold attempt at character building. It doesn't matter much really since I've grown to dislike the majority of the character cast after the final episode. Sometimes, storytelling with these type of genres work. Sometimes it doesn't. This is one of those times that it didn't.

Look, the manga is good. The adaptation, though… could have been better. And not only because of the obvious, ugly CGI from the latest episodes. "The World of Otome Games is Tough for Mobs" is centered around Leon, the ultimate asshole that was reincarnated in his sister's dating sim game. Luckily for him, he's just a mob character, so he doesn't have to deal with the male harem of the game, which he hates; after all, they are just a bunch of useless and utterly annoying pretty boys. So he thought; yet, he is forced to go to the nobles' academy from the game, so hecan avoid literally dying.
Oh, and… in this world, women seem to hold the power.
The anime follows the basic "reincarnated as a mob in an otome game" formula: the MC wants to live their lives comfortably, yet they become involved in the story; they use their knowledge from the game; they become close with the original main character of the game; they become powerful, etc etc. Like most works in this genre, it also has a twist: here, it is the main character, Leo. The shittiest egoistical asshole you could find in that whole fantasy world, a vulgar power abuser that doesn't give a fuck about anything other than himself, and… that hates getting promoted. Yet he gets promoted, and he hates it, and everyone else hates it as well because they hate him. He is just that much of an asshole.
Leon is, basically, the saving grace of this anime. Or, rather… of the manga. Because the adaptation doesn't do him justice. Of course, he is there for comedic reasons, like literally everyone else; however, he is also the main character and carries the entire entertainment on his shoulders (as the other characters are just hollow figures on a screen). We love seeing this asshole being the most annoying asshole on Earth (well, not really) and fucking up the frustrated students with his power. Well, that's if he actually has a character, aside from being a little shit with a big mouth. And it's pretty hard to see that in the anime. Wait, that's not entirely true; it is also obvious that he is actually a pretty smart bastard! And… that's about it. Thanks for tuning in, Leon will get more character development next time!
Maybe I'm a bit harsh. But then again, the other characters are just random stereotypes (aside from Angelica, she is pretty nice). We gotta have one good character at least, right? He is the main reason for the enjoyment that comes from this, after all. I mean, the story… is not that great or impressive, the pacing was pretty bad, and the animation has some flaws as well. It was pretty mediocre, really.
And the last episode was TRASH. The battle was a very important one in the manga, yet here… it was over in like 5 minutes? What the heck man… And the whole episode was also very rushed, it was awful.
In the end, "The World of Otome Games is Tough for Mobs" was disappointing. It wasn't essentially bad, as it was still somehow enjoyable; however, it did not reach the manga's potential at all. Not to say that the manga itself was oh-so-amazing, because it wasn't; yet it was way better. Truth to be told, I expected more.

Otome game is exactly the sort of generic isekai Power fantasy trash that everyone seems to hate. You know you have seen many of these before, there is a formula and a bit of a twist. An isekai fan’s needs are easy to fulfill and are fulfilled quite faithfully in this anime this is an easy recommendation if you need any of the following. 1)OP protag who is relatively likable (But not distinct enough so that one can self-insert). 2)Harem, big tids, and beautiful chics. Not dense MC 3)Good worldbuilding but should also be a world that favors MC heavily. 4)Mecha (the twist) 5)harbinger of gender equality (shows no mercy tocrazy fucks, male or female).
This is exactly the kind of fodder we isekai fans need to continue staying in our caves.
But if you want an actually competently produced show, please just drop this show and read the manga or LN, Yes I hate jumping on this train of “Manga is better”. But in the case of this anime. The anime is so garbage that the Manga (despite being a bit mediocre) seems like a gospel!
The character expressions are so well done in the manga, here it is as generic an isekai as the ones before it.
Let's just get into the review of this anime, ill keep it short.
Story (6/10)
Is quite good when talking about the source, in the anime however the pacing is downright horrible. They don't let you savor any good moments it's just one scene after the other. Most episodes end so abruptly you may wonder if the video got cut by mistake XD.
Art and animation (3/10)
they try to follow the source as close as possible in scenes that require less budget only. When a scene that requires high sakuga or budget shows up, cheap gimmicks like speed lines and terrible camera angles kill the moment. I do appreciate the fact that the mechs are drawn rather competently, but they use them as sprites to just fly across the screen with minimal to no actual movement. Broken mechs look more like Lego blocks than actual wreckage XD. They used only STILL FRAMES in one of the most anticipated Angie scenes (the punching one), it's a disaster. Art style is unique and I can tell they were trying for an Otome game-type styling but the characters look too shiny to the point they look like dolls.
VA and sound (6/10)
Rushed voice acting, with zero emphases on dialogues. The most hype scene of Leon versus the prince and his lackeys was delivered like it's a JAM speedrun dialogue-wise, with no zoom-ins, no powerful line delivery none of that good shit! (Makes you love scenes like Grisha and Eren from AOT) seem all the more legendary, Angie's and luxion’s Va do a good job however and you can feel that angie is noble by her manner of talk and delivery of lines.OP is alright music-wise. ED is just a lazy waifu showcase with a very out-of-place music choice.
Characters (6/10)
Enjoyable, sort of. the VA does kill a bit of the mood. But they do at least remain true to the source material. the main selling point is probably the anti-hero nature of Leon and the fact that character drama is a bit more natural and fleshed out like dealing with rejection, nobility and commoner issues, etc.
Probably just read the manga or LN xD, If you really don't want to give the first few a try and if you can handle this low-budget adaptation you may actually enjoy it more than I did.

You gotta be kidding me...another studio ENGI ugly-ass production values with an all-too-familiar setting and a crude story that works? What kind of world are we living in that we can pass bad production for good stories? More often than not, reality hits harder than expectations, and novelist Yomu Mishima's Otome Game Sekai wa Mob ni Kibishii Sekai desu a.k.a MobuSeka is just exactly that: a HameFura rip-off, but replace the female villainness lead with someone who's not even the main character, who's literally: Trapped in a Dating Sim, with the world of the Otome Game being tough for mobs a.k.a background characters. And since thisis a novel that started in Syosetu that lasted from 2017 to 2019, that expanded into the LN and manga versions of the novel, it's safe to say that what came out of there has a lot of wacky ideas during the period accurate to 2017 that only a few things are common within each other: Isekai, characters being OP, and Demon Lord reincarnation. The anime adaptation covers the first 4 volumes of the LN, though you can just read the manga anyways because the anime follows that version very closely, and to the point where I'd say that it's to the T, though LN readers will probably know that how MobuSeka progressed after the anime's content is a hit-or-miss sadly, but that's outside the scope of this review.
In MobuSeka's case, it's reinventing the settings that HameFura is known for with the known caste system nobility, interesting MC, love interests, magic, and above all: the "reincarnated as a villainness" shtick where the MC, LITERALLY is a jerk that acts like an actual villain with a logic for trash that only warrants if he does feel like they earn the karma. And this is what Leon Fou Bartfort's character is like: starting off being forced by his sister to help complete a rather punishing Otome Game, where the usual shenanigans of the game are as you would expect to be played out, to only lament at the difficulty of the game to pass out not by Truck-kun, but at the stairs leading to his house. Fast forward to the reincarnation phase, and he finds himself right inside that same exact Otome Game world where women reign supreme, and mobs like Leon are easy to manipulate that makes the setting tough for 'mobs'. Of course, like Katarina Claes, Leon also knows how the game works inside out, but one thing stands out amongst the two: a simple cheat code, because Leon is a mob character, and aside from wanting to live a normal life, unless he works to the death, he's gonna stand out amongst the nobility to forever be their plaything. So it's to that extent that the world ain't all nobility, but also with a mixed sci-fi theme with the "old world" featuring technology that only "Old Humans" can understand and mechas that add more lore to the series's worldbuilding, even if Leon is a "New Human" with technically "Old Human" knowledge. Also, Luxion for an AI downsized from its real body of a giant black spaceship-like airship is quite the hilarious joker as it hates "New Humans" and isn't abashed to trash-talk towards Leon when it feels like doing so. And that's more than its programming allowable to also help Leon in "cheating" his way through the Otome Game since his knowledge is unrivalled, and his personality being one similar to that of a rebel: not caring about how others look and opinionate about him, even to the point of criticizing and chastising others in the pursuit of being realistic, while throwing all logic off to the point whom are closest to him to act like the ever-so-predictable friendship clique setting, even showcasing compassion at times in his most dirty and disgusting behaviour the way he knows how to deal against. And true to honest, it doesn't get better than Leon being the 'mob' that tries to "change/alter history" by doing things that are to be expected of a background character. For such a character like Leon, unpredictability is the name of his game, and he's fun to watch as a trash-thrashing person.
There's heaps of other characters here too in MobuSeka, but I'll just go by the order in which they're introduced in the anime, there's a lot of ground to cover here. Starting off with the nobility's side of the caste system antics, it's the annoying Chibi-like character of Marie Fou Lafan, the daughter of a Viscount family. She, like Leon, also sucks as a character, but damn is she worse off than Leon himself by being oh-so-glamourous in vying for the attention to disrupt the Otome Game's natural progression of the female protagonist Olivia (whom again, like Katarina Claes) is a commoner through and through. And that's exactly Marie's position in the Otome Game: to meddle with the game dynamics and the placement of the characterization between the supposed commoner Olivia and antagonist villainness Angelica, so much so that Angelica took Olivia's place as the victim to be ripped apart from the princes of the kingdom: the crown prince Julius Rapha Holfort and his 4 idiotic aides of Jilk Fia Marmoria, Brad Fou Field, Chris Fia Arclight and Greg Fou Seberg, muscular and popular, but only in name (if Leon's in the overall picture). For the most part, it's utter broad daylight bullying at its worst as the kind and modest protagonist Olivia lacks a consistent amount of self-confidence, ensuring that she would always be the target of all nobles. On Angelica's side, instead of the usual crown prince shielding her, he's been bought to Marie's malicious intent, and it would be weird for his 4 aides to not side with him enough for Leon to backfire their karma on them.
Furthermore, with Leon's inclusion in the overall story, it can seem and look cumbersome that there're too many actors in a now-convoluted storyline where the mob characters take charge of altering it into a realistic un-fairy tale like scenario. But I promise you that it's not, as Leon weaves his own way into the circumstances and makes his own path so that everyone can get pissed off for making insignificant splashes from a two-faced character, pinning all the blame on him while both Olivia and Angelica can see through the gaps of their own situations. You simply can't get a better wingman than Leon Fou Bartfort, the insignificant mob character that turned from the hatred of all to a valuable player that despite his noble status (which he doesn't want any of that shit at all), he's the perfect player to guise and guide through the intricacies of unjust treatment within a much-maligned societal standing. And to earn the respect of the wayward-sided Olivia and Angelica whom Leon has constantly risked his life for to save them from their own traumas, that's saying something that background characters may one day be protagonists of their own choosing. This is the reason why as much hate as Leon gets, he's a pretty likable character, and one whom doesn't await shooting for the stars to earn the recognition that he deserves as a literate snake-snively person that acts according to what he feels is right. As some would say: A cliche overpowered protagonist done right, and for VA Takeo Ootsuka whom also acts as Kaze ga Tsuyoku Fuiteiru a.k.a Run With the Wind's Kakeru Kurahara, it makes Leon stand out more than he actually would have been, and that I'd say a job well done.
It must be said that studio ENGI's production values have gotten a lot worse overtime. While its starting shows look fine with decency (and that was 2.5 years ago with Hataage! Kemono Michi), it didn't took until last Spring's Full Dive that the overall feel just looks bad, and I mean REAL BAD. Often at times, the art style just looks drab and lifeless, and let's not go into the character design which I feel that it was way too overdone with shades and contours so strikingly deep that literally everything looked razor-sharp and unnatural. To this effect, you can blame character designer Masahiko Suzuki who's done more character design in the creature department (i.e. Overlord, Kami no Tou, Kumo Desu ga, Nani ka?) than actual human characters. It's like someone trying to diversify his CV that when trying something new, it's a given that he'll earn rude comments, but I for one can't understand how someone so bad at creature models earn the culmination that is featured in this show. It's abominable, and the only negative about MobuSeka. And for a Kadokawa-backed company, this is just...ugly. Like come on, wouldn't spending money on resources and more training help out to make your company look much better in the eyes of the watching public?
The OST on the other hand, it's good. Kashitaro Ito is such a talented Anisong singer, and his vocal talents display the promixity here of an OP that features strong vocals and dynamic musical range, something that's a staple of if you listen to his songs. Riko Azuna's ED...actually fits for a much more playful aesthetic in rounding up the heavy bombardiness of the episodes, though the song is decent that's patched together with the visual play. It's peppy and kooky.
I wouldn't be wrong if I said that there are WAY TOO MUCH Isekai anime these days, and standing out is even more difficult if the formula has been done better, or if it concerns when the adaptations of source materials comes out faster to be the first one to set a precedent on how future shows will be like to determine greatness or mediocrity. MobuSeka won't be a show that tries to break the bank by being mostly the same borrowed aesthetics from other shows that have come and gone before it, but if I can guarantee something, it's one hell of a good time watching a jerk carve out a path for himself and trashing the world behind him.
Truly, the world is tough for mobs, but the real world is just as hard for Otaku (if this ain't an WotaKoi reference enough).

At first i dropped this one because of how unfair male lead was being treated in the anime but later when i found out that situations get better in later episodes and he gonna get a small harem i jumped in it again ! well the situation did get better but the process was not that satisfying ! at least somewhat tolerable cause the male lead was not a coward unlike other harem protagonist ! The main problem was still there and that is the unfairness to the main lead ! in the last couple of episodes the story did get interesting and male leadis treated a bit bitter and he did somewhat got a pseudo cliffhanging harem ! The ending totally shows that there will be a next season and given the popularity of show it gonna have another season ! hoping at least there somethings gets better and male lead gets his harem he deserve! So as for me it's 5.7 stars/10 stars.. i don't know why when male lead gets beaten or defeated in an anime specially if it's harem and romance ones i can't stand it maybe because most of the harem and romance anime follows the same formula to beat the male lead unnecessarily for so called humor ,i don't know how this is a humor ! no offense to those who liked this!

So I completed this show and im really surprised how much I enjoyed Otome game Isekai, that concept might sounds weird but trust me, im really not a fan of mechs but that show is fire! Story (8/10) Plot is only kinda decent but the concept is really insane, look most of people play mobile games this days and it obvious have microtransactions, so just imagine how fun it would be to summoned to your favorite game with your pay2win content. Art (8/10) Well well, mechs and objects are mostly handly animated with some really rare 3d exceptions. I really enjoy animation in thisanime, its kinda unique.

Eh, Katsuragi Keima got you beat every day of the week at dating sims Leon… just saying. Well, anyways, here’s your isekai about the protagonist tripping and falling down a set of stairs, only to be isekai’ed into the dating sim that he just beat, but this dating sim is a matriarchy, so he’s not overpowered at all, he’s actually a background character in a dating sim, except he has background knowledge of the game, so actually, he is overpowered after all. The show is pretty shallow overall, the politics, fights, and plot are all pretty mediocre, but the thing that stands out is the smugnessof the protagonist (still not as smug as that Anya face though).

The plot isn’t much to write home about. I view this as a sort of revenge story of sorts, of a mob character that is maltreated, and then unleashes his power on the world, being a scumbag to everyone, while saving everyone.
There are some inconsistencies, and some things I wished the story expanded on. The matriarchy in my opinion didn’t play enough of a role, as it quickly became obsolete after Leon became a baron and moved up in the society. Another thing I wished the story talked about was Marie’s identity. It was hinted that Marie could be Leon’s sister in the real world, and I wish they expanded upon that fact to make for more plot points. It’s always a plus when the characters in the real world are mentioned in an isekai, but not a lot of isekai series do that, which is unfortunate.
ART: 4/10
In short, I don’t like the character designs. The other stuff is fine, the action scenes are fine, the general art direction is fine, it’s just the character design that looked awkward.
MUSIC: 8/10
Sound direction was fine, and the openings and endings were good enough musically. Nothing very impressive, but still solid.
CHARACTERS: 12.5/20
The characters are actually decent. There is a fair bit of character growth to be seen, especially with Olivia and Angelica, with the former struggling with being overprotected by Leon, and wanting to be independent, and the latter, looking upon lower class people with more respect than before after meeting Olivia.
Obviously, Leon is an enjoyable character to watch. He takes upon the villainous role himself, but when he defeats those cocky nobles, it’s always a fun and satisfying thing to see. Cheap thrills that work, basically, is his shining point. The self-doubt about his role as a mob character is a bit annoying at times considering how powerful he is, but he’s still a unique character.
ENJOYMENT: 9.5/15

Personally, I don’t really like the sporadic themes throughout, and the theme of the school much either, the people in the school just give off such a negative connotation, it’s hard to describe. The romance is there, because of course it is, and the action is fine overall.

It’s an alright show, I just wish the plot thickened a little, and the animation was a little better, the plot and some characters come off as a bit shallow and underdeveloped, and if there’s ever a season 2, I would hope the plot gets built upon in a better way.

Listen, it may not have the strongest story or beginning for that matter. But particularly the dub is hilarious. I was thoroughly entertained because the main character is absolutely based and is funny as hell, so much so that I would watch it again for the laughs. You can try and act like a stuck up food critic all you want, but the story doesn’t have to be great for it to be a solid and enjoyable anime. It just had to make up for it in other ways, which it absolutely did. The protagonist is definitely the most memorable character, and the art styleis nothing to complain about but not spectacular either. Overall, I enjoyed Otome and you will too, give it a good shot.

Otome Game Sekai wa Mob ni Kibishii Sekai desu or Trapped in a Dating Sim: The World of Otome Games is Tough for Mobs, it may be a run of the mill anime about guy getting transported in an alternate universe, but here it was guy to got trapped in a dating game. But unlike those run of the mill isekai game theme fantasy adventure, this one was a bit different given that the guy didn't started as this top jock rather he started as a low rate noble that has to be treated like shit by his upper class relatives but things turns aroundgive that he has already played the game before so basically he has the experience after long hours playing front of a game console , cu'z his siter was just too lazy to finish the game. Now given that he is a mob character in that game world, he basically alters that world's timeline and accidentally made himself the main character, but there is a sub plot around here where it involved Marie Lou LaFan another mob character, probably was just like Leon who got herself transported into a dating game and also altered that world's timeline, by making what was suppose to be Olivia's harem boys into Her's to which in the manga you see what I mean....Now, the art, ok so the art, well it was pretty mediocre give that there were girls whom were made to become eye candy and there was that censored hot spring between Olivia and Angie and that bed scene where Olivia and Angie were sleeping in their underwear. Soundwise, I just don't care at all as to who did who, but I just hate both closing and opening themes. Character, ok so Leon Barford in his pervious world he was just an ordinary guy who somehow got force into playing a dating sim , it took him quite a long time but eventually he succeeds but just as he goes out to eat tragedy struck and he become a mob character in a world similar to the dating sim he plays.....Now a first it was kind of nice that the original creator, Mishima, Yomu didn't portray him as a top character with a lot of groupies rather he was portrayed as a character in a place that doesn't like him despite of what he has done.....we have Angelica Rapha Redgrave, who was suppose to be the antagonist turns out to be Leon's ally and love interest thought Leon wants to keep his distance from him ok so she was one character with an attitude of a antagonist but the role of a protagonist, sur she does have that high stature mentality going on but she has that admiration for Leon that she be willing to humble herself to him, she also has that trust she have with Olivia to which she was the only one that she considered as her friend and Olivia, well, she was the pitiful around here, give that she was suppose to in the company of them royal boys but becomes a nobody when Marie changes things around, but then again she has Leon to protect her and Angie to whom she has a special connection with and also protects her...but unfortunately the true antagonist around here would be Marie......cu'z nearly ever antagonist around here were either lame or just fucking stupid.... so without anymore shit, here were my ratings.
Story- Fair 6: It wasn't that great but it wasn't that bad either.
Art-Good 7: That was for Angie and Olivia's one time ecchi.
Sound-Decent 4: There was just nothing for me to say as to who did who.
Character-Decent 4: It may have been good that 3 of the main characters got some shit in their roles but getting things way good was just the usual in every anime with isekia , Fantasy and adventure genre. To have the Main characters be great in the end.
Enjoyment- fair 6: It wasn't that bad at all, even if the anime was more like an advertisement.
Overall-Good 7: It was good, but not that good in general.

Not everyone will like this, there are people who don't like Isekai, who won't like it just because it's an isekai, or the OP protag trope, or just the general setting/premise. In terms of setting this feels like Next Life As A Villainess, but in terms of characters this is closer to Ixion Saga DT. The MC reminds me of Kirito from SAO Abridged, which is a good thing, he's OP yet has a rotten twisted personality, he hates the world, he hates everyone in the world, he just wants to be able to settle down to a nice quiet life, but most importantly, find a'good' wife. (Which in this world is easier said than done)
If this series was played straight, or didn't have Leon, this would probably be a 6/10 but this is a whole hearted comedy series, and it is able to hit the mark, and the MC really makes the series. It is very entertaining, and a lot of fun.
It's not perfect, it's not the best comedy series out there, it's why I wouldn't dream of giving it higher than an 8/10, but it does comfortably earn that score from me.
The story is pretty decent, the animation and OST are very average, but it is the characters, and the comedy where this series shines.

The beauty of this anime is its ability to be predictable. It is exactly what you expect, a power fantasy isekai with a slight hint of harem/romance. Its humor is very obvious and predictable like it already told you the punch line before even starting the joke. Not all animes need to be deep and thought provoking in order for it to be good. The story is almost like any other isekai, the main character (usually a NEET/Gamer) dies in some way, wakes up in a new world and already knows all about the world because of their previous life. Then somehow they go about gettingOP because of that knowledge and then Bazinga! They are at a school with a bunch of cute girls. If I had to say one thing that set it apart, it would be that the main character is not actually the main character, but actually just is the main character as the title suggests. Because of this, it allows for a slightly different perspective from a "mob" character who just wants to live the life of a mob, but can't because they are the main character of the anime.
Aside from the story, nothing else in particular stuck out as exceptional or unpleasant, save for a few minutes of extremely cheesy lines or wholesome moments that are nice in hindsight but as you watch them you are doing a full body cringe. The animation/visuals at times can look slightly off, but it didn't bother me for the most part.
Overall, I gotta say enjoyment definitely carried my opinion, so you could basically just remove a point or two if you want to account for bias. It was definitely enjoyable for me because these types of isekais never get stale for me, but I know they do for most people. It definitely isn't for everyone because both isekais and ultra power fantasies are for some reason discouraged and down-rated on MAL even though people should already know they won't like it before watching it.

I hate reviews, they tend to sound really pretentious and Im not smart enough to express my thoughts properly. But I feel pretty strongly about this one and I'm afraid some people might just dismiss it based on the synopsis. My reviews are based solely off of enjoyment. This was a show that caught me off guard. I didnt really know what to expect going in. But it ended up being a show I really enjoyed. Majority of every episode had me grinning ear to ear. I really love the MC and Luxiem. Theyre both great characters. It was a lot of fun. Give it afew episodes. I'd reccomend at least getting to episode 5 if you can before giving up on it. That may be a big ask but for me that was when I was invested in the characters. I wont tell you its the best at anything in particular. But there was something there that even a dumbass like me could see value in.

With no budget to speak of, consigned by many to the guilty pleasure dumpster, 'Trapped in a Dating Sim' delivers an excellent fantasy adventure with action, drama, comedy, and romance, along with giant robot suits, surprise marriage proposals, pirate airships, race-track gambling, and high-stakes tea parties. Defying expectations, it's one of the best shows of the season: that's the value of consistently good writing. The hero, being trapped in a dating sim, is thrust into conflicts of love, money, war, and class, some of which cannot even be resolved by beating people up in a giant robot suit. Many of them can, though, and the actionscenes are exciting, despite the cheap animation, because we care about the characters, who stand to gain or lose a great deal in this surprisingly credible matriarchal teenage dating-sim aristocracy.
Speaking of the characters, a lot of them seem generic at first, because they are indeed ripped from the plot of a badly written dating sim. But that turns out to be a great setup for character development when the game goes off the rails: just look at what the show does with the rich mean girl, who is in fact the best girl. Meanwhile, the game world brought to life is wonderfully imaginative and at the same time comically inconsistent.
'Trapped in a Dating Sim' manages to be quite funny without being overly clever: it's less about carefully constructed comedy scenarios and more about setting up a bunch of fun characters with different personalities and motivations and turning them loose to interact in entertaining ways. The hero, his little robot, the mean girl, the queen, the prince, who sucks: you can drop them into pretty much any situation and watch the comedy unfold.
The whole season is well paced, with meaningful conflicts that drive character growth, imaginative world-building, a satisfying conclusion, and roughly zero filler. If any show deserves a second season with a much bigger budget, it's 'Trapped in a Dating Sim'.

With an anime season full of surprises, this one might've surprised me the most. I genuinely thought that Trapped in a Dating Sim was going too bad, but I was pleasantly surprised by how well the show carried itself throughout. Now I will say it's not perfect and I have my gripes with it, but overall it was really enjoyable, and anyone that like isekai should definitely give it a try. Art: 6 Now I am not gonna lie, the art and animation were really average at best. The character design is a little rough and the action scenes could've been animated better, but on the brightside the rest of the show makes up for it.

Pretty good to decent sound design, I have no complaints. The background music matched the regal rich tone of the anime and the OP slapped, so not bad. It was solid enough and I dont have many complaints.

I actually think that the characters were quite solid, I won't lie it took a while for the main duo to start developing, but the MC on his own is still entertaining and in my opinion, I was actually really impressed with the development of the 5 princes as they all grew in a way from where they started.

I enjoyed seeing an isekai where the MC didn't want to be the MC. The comedy that brought was pretty solid and they built a pretty good story from that premise, as we get to see Leon go through some development, overall it was solid.

Story (6): The background character steals the main stage of an otome game or visual novel. In itself, the concept is a small twist to the isekai that we already know and the development that it takes is satisfactory within all. Art (7): It's good, you have to accept it. It does not stand out for its complexity but it is pleasing to the eye. Sound (7): The music is consistent with all situations and the voices of the actors convey the personality of the characters. Characters (8): I really like that the main characters are not the stereotype of the perfect Hero in personality. He is lovabledespite his flaws.
Meanwhile, the other characters show an evolution that is appreciated and makes them more interesting than being just what they seemed to prove to be at first.
Enjoyment (7): I liked it a lot, more than I would have expected really. It's a fairly fast-paced anime and lets you enjoy some quirks that stand out in otome games with comedy.
General (8): Enjoyable, without waiting for a super complex plot or development much more than can be seen with comedy, its romantic touch and action.

This is without a doubt the isekai trash you think it is. And yet there was something something uniquely enjoyable about it… The protagonist is a little bit more raw than most adding a charm to an otherwise typical plot. For those familiar with Konosuba you can draw clear parallels between Kazuma and Leon (this show’s MC) But really outside of that and a couple unique world-building elements this is a weakly animated show with face-palm inducing dialogue. This is all to say, the show isn’t unwatchable. Just make sure you’re looking forward to mindless anime plot drivel with a fun protagonist and some quirks throughout.Little bit of a more detailed scoring below

Totally unprofessional review but I really enjoyed how refreshing this anime is. Maybe because of my twisted personality, I really identified with how much of an asshole antihero the protag is and thus enjoyed the humour coming along with that as well. Moreover it's very satisfying how he gets at everyone. Please give it 3 episodes if you're into snarky protags that are annoying! The snarkiness is on full display in the first 3 episodes but gradually wanes as the series progresses, only to be back as good as before in the last 2 episodes. That's what I really enjoy about it.

I would say it's THE underdog this season! The OP and ED were pretty damn great, always had me bopping and singing along. When I first started to watch this, it was just because Garnt had mentioned it in his stream, so I decided to check it out. I waited for the first 3 episodes to air to start watching it, only to be hooked. I was left with wanting more and always wondering what will happen next. I was literally looking forward to this EVERY Sunday! I loved the series, it made me want to buy the manga just so I can know what'sgonna happen next. There were a few parts that felt rushed or the animation was a bit wonky, but it didn't ruin it for me. I would highly suggest this to anyone looking for a good short anime.

This is pretty much "Based, the Anime". The main character is one of the best in any show. Think Kazuma from Konosuba, but almost everyone hate him and he in turn takes it out on them. Driven by the MC, the show is absolutely hilarious and I binged it in one sitting without intending to. The one thing that holds it back is the animation. It's unfortunate since some of the mecha fights could have been epic. It's the only thing that held this back from being a 10/10. The artstyle is passable. Sometimes the characters eyes can look a tad too large, but thatmay be personal preference and it's not to the level of Kanon.
