Despite having a good reputation as one of the most seasoned guards in the local guild of Mebuki, Kikuru Madan believes he has been wasting his youth and hopes to spend the rest of it like any other person. However, his conscience prevents him from retiring at present, as he worries about the guild's future without him. Coincidentally—as if to help him find his successor—the guild's receptionist, Enome, assigns Kikuru four fresh recruits: the energetic beastwoman Hitamu "Hitamuki" Kyan, the prodigy Maidena Ange, the laid-back Toxico Dannar, and the stalwart Hanabata Nohkins. Although each of them possesses significant talents, they also display characteristics that detract from their potential—including Hitamu's extreme clumsiness and Hanabata's unintentional perverseness. As if there was not enough to deal with, the monsters outside Mebuki's walls start exhibiting odd behavior by targeting women salaciously, causing the party endless problems in more ways than one. Nevertheless, Kikuru is committed to retiring early; to achieve his goal, the guidance he gives the trainees will be absolutely essential. [Written by MAL Rewrite]

“I've always thought about this, but she's way too sensitive! ...I've never been this close to her before. She smells so damn nice! She feels so soft too! And what thick thighs she has. It smells of flowers, fruits, and sun from her which is different from soap... A calming scent and warmth, as if I were surrounded by nature... Wait, that's not it! I'm surrounded by natural flesh, not nature itself! This is bad! I'm starting to feel funny! Is this her mana's doing too?!” - the protagonist’s inner monologue during the classic To LOVE-Ru gag of a girl tripping and landing with her crotchonto his face. Futoku no Guild is that one scene from Konosuba where Aqua and Megumin get molested by giant frogs stretched out into an entire series. What’s amazing is that it actually works, thanks to absolutely top-notch writing. First, let's get the elephant out of the room and into an ivory processing factory. This show is very lewd. Being lewd, however, is not the same as being vulgar (here’s a quick guide on how to tell that two words mean different things - they’re two different fucking words). A lewd show still can be classy and/or wholesome, while vulgarity is the opposite of those things. See the epigraph, this is about as classy as you can be in response to a faceful of vagina. In contrast, something like a panty shot is comparatively less lewd, yet much more vulgar because of the non-consensual peeping aspect. And while one’s personal tolerance for how lewd a show can be without turning vulgar is entirely subjective, the actual level of a show’s vulgarity is entirely objective, it can be objectively quantified by comparison with other shows. Redo of Healer, Futoku no Guild, and Bakemonogatari are three examples of lewd anime, and if asked to sort them by their vulgarity, you'd need to have some sort of brain damage to give an answer that wasn’t Redo of Healer - the most vulgar, Bakemonogatari - the least, and Futoku no Guild - in-between. Furthermore, lewdness and vulgarity aren’t even directly connected, it’s a matter of how you handle the subject matter. From recent examples, Uzaki-chan and My Dress-Up Darling are two shows that are much less superficially lewd than Futoku no Guild, yet much more vulgar because of how they handle their lewdness - as a source of fap bait, they’re pretentious censored hentai. Futoku no Guild is the polar opposite, it’s very lewd on the surface but uses that lewdness as a source of comedy, which naturally leads to a higher degree of writing quality and integrity, as making your audience laugh is a much more intellectually demanding task than making your audience masturbate. So, here’s what makes Futoku no Guild’s writing highly intelligent: The protagonist. Given how lewd the show is, it would’ve been so easy to make the protagonist a faceless cumbrain so that the coomer audience could self-insert into him (like Highschool DxD’s protagonist). Kikuru is so much better than that. He’s the straightest man that ever straighted (in the tsukkomi sense, not in the not-gay sense). He’s entirely unamused by all the lewd bullshit happening around him, and his unexpectedly classy and sensible responses are a major part of the show’s comedy. He is also a refreshing sight as far as fantasy anime protagonists are concerned, being a highly competent professional that relies on his wits, training, and experience. Kikuru shares more in common with Goblin Slayer than with your average Kirito clone. This matters because the series follows Konosuba’s formula of being a light-hearted sitcom most of the time, but switching into action hype mode for major boss battles - and the action scenes here are better than in the majority of “serious” action titles. We even get genuine character growth with occasional emotional moments on top of everything else. The girls. Futoku no Guild unambiguously belongs to the “Konosuba’s bandwagon” genre like pretty much every single isekai/fantasy comedy made in the last seven or so years. Seriously, try to name three titles of this kind that do not include a ditzy Aqua-like goddess. Again, Futoku no Guild is far above just copying Konosuba, it builds something of its own on top of the existing foundation. For example, the ensemble includes two “Megumins” (haughty nerd mage) and two “Darknesses” (bubbly warrior bimbo), yet each of them has a distinct and well-developed personality. Since the principal cast is so big and varied, the show can allow itself to swap the characters in and out, focusing on just a few at a time, exploring their unique chemistry and the unique sort of situational comedy their interactions bring. The worldbuilding. There is a reason why the world of Konosuba is colloquially referred to as Fantasy Australia, but 90% of isekai titles get bashed for being generic. Good worldbuilding is absolutely crucial for a show of this genre to feel fresh. When the protagonist enters the adventurers’ guild and you see the receptionist behind a desktop PC, while a pair of chipmunks in overalls are nonchalantly vacuuming the floor, you know this isn’t your average isekai. The story. The main premise of the series is that the local JRPG monsters that the characters are supposed to be slaying are suddenly focused on molesting female adventurers instead of killing them. And the story acknowledges that this is, in fact, what is happening. The MC questions why the monsters are behaving in such a bizarre way and tasks himself with investigating it. He also wants to quit his job but feels obliged to train his replacements - also a goal that he meaningfully works to achieve over the course of the series. Unlike many similar ecchi shows (such as Ishuzoku Reviewers), this one has an actual story and a sense of progression, which saves it from getting stale after a couple of episodes. The comedy. Genuinely clever and imaginative, not limited to just “haha, boobs,” and absolutely nailing the comedic timing. I can’t repeat this enough, it’s both in the style of Konosuba, and, more importantly, on almost the same level of wit. The ecchi. Just to make it clear, you absolutely can turn your brains off and watch this series just for the THICC art. The THICC here is beautifully drawn and the ecchi scenes are hot. The show is a ton of pure fun. 9/10 for a high-quality erotic comedy.
Futoku no Guild is exactly the type of masterfully written and executed series we need more of these days. It doesn’t waste time trying to create an intricate narrative and well developed characters. Instead, it takes full advantage of the sexual depravity of the average Otaku and uses that to its advantage, making one of the most entertaining shows of 2022. What I like most about Futoku no Guild is that it doesn’t hide what it is. From the very first episode it’s clear this show is designed for the most down bad individuals out there. Putting the female characters in increasingly degenerate and lewd situationswhile having some genuinely good comedy as well. The scenarios range from your usual tentacle r**** scenes to somehow even more provocative imagery. I’m not gonna sit here and pretend that I did anything but fight a primal urge to grab tissues and lotion during these eps. The fanservice and lewd moments are awesome, but I also found the show genuinely hilarious which is rare in anime these days. The MC’s recurring schtick about him being an airhead and oblivious to the girls’ feelings about him was pretty enjoyable. The character interactions and banter were great too. Futoku no Guild is definitely one of the best ecchi anime we’ve got in the past couple years. Hot girls that are suitable for a variety of different tastes, lewd fan service moments that only the most seasoned of Exhentai users would be able to come up with and a playful vibe that makes every episode go by in the blink of an eye. Not much else needs to be said. It’s a must watch for lewd enjoyers. Futoku no Guild gets 10 tentacles out of 10.
Immoral. Look, Immoral Guild is trash. It’s another almost hentai that fell off a back of a transportation truck from studio Poro, urinated on by a homeless person and later picked up off the street by an employee of studio TNK… but to be honest, I’ve poisoned my brain with some of the worst anime imaginable, and compared to shit like Redo of Healer, Eiken and Harem in the Labyrinth of Another World, it contains no rape, grooming or main protagonist’s buying and owning slaves which by default makes this anime look remarkable in comparison. That’s how low of a bar we’re dealing with here, justto be clear. Whilst it’s true there is no rape or sexual assault by revenge healers or isekai slave owners, there is… err… molestation by rpg monsters… yeah, that’s a new one. For you see the big joke Immoral Guild weaves into nearly every episode is that the RPG adventure party made up of four girls that the main protagonist Kikuru has to train so he can retire as a town guard, are all completely useless, and almost all quests will end with them being molested by a monster to Kikuru’s dismay, and the audiences (supposed) pleasure, especially if not always, Hitamu, the adorable dog girl with a heart of gold, a smile like a sun and a tank top full of anime titty. If you’ve ever watched Konosuba and thought to yourself “I wish Aquas and Megumi’s clothes would melt off when the big frog eats them and then starts licking their nipples with its tongue.”, then this is your alternative… Also, seek help. Despite the sometimes err… questionable ways the show tries to expose breasts for our pleasure, the Konosuba comparison isn’t completely too far off. Immoral Guild has a quirky cast of loud-mouthed, big breaste- big-hearted, over(and under)-the-top characters who make excellent foils to Kikuru’s straight-man personality. This show is surprisingly funny at times with surprisingly excellent voice acting and comedic timing. It leverages its lewd moments and integrates them into like, actual jokes, something many ecchi anime don’t execute well. Toxico and Kikuru have some excellent back and forth, and the misunderstandings between Kikuru, the hot blonde mom guild receptionist Enome, and her daughter Esyne are legitimately funny. You can pair up most of the cast with each other and they’ll create some comedy gold until they get molested by slimes and tentacle crows (yes, I’m not kidding). The animation isn’t too bad either. Though it’s a more cartoony style than TNK’s last work of fart Redo of Healer, it moves a lot better than that show and has some genuinely good action scenes when it’s not displaying another type of action which would probably get you arrested. Look, it’s not a good show, but fuck it, I like it. Granted the world-building makes no sense, the main cast are all tweaked rip-offs of the cast from Konosuba and some of the scenes meant for titillation range from awkward to just plain what the fuck(?), but sometimes you’ve just got to accept that you’ve found yourself a new anime guilty pleasure and tell no one about it. Especially your parents. They’ll tell you they still love you, but they’ll be disappointed deep down. 6/10 It’s Okay *Thumbs Up*
Well, well, well. Every season has to have that ONE pervy, near-borderline Hentai ecchi show acceptable for TV broadcast standards, and this Fall, it has to be mangaka Taichi Kawazoe's erotic comedy Futoku no Guild a.k.a Immoral Guild. But I've gotta say, tis' iz some guilty pleasure show to like about. And please don't look at me with the disgusted face, won't cha? It's a surprise that this show went completely unlicensed in the West, or rather, not a complete surprise, as if you would rather want Crunchyroll's heavily edited version of this show to be filled with ridiculous and copious amounts of censorship like howWinter's Shuumatsu no Harem came out to be, replicated here. It would be a horrible sight. Thankfully, the Chinese streaming company Bilibili has you covered, being the only English licensor to this glorious ecchi fest that can be fun, when you mean it with your whole heart. Futoku no Guild a.k.a Immoral Guild sounds like what it is: a capable person in a town that has enough of doing the guarding job for his entire youth life and wants out so that he can treasure his remaining years of youth being a completely normal person. The only problem? Finding a successor that can best, or at least replicate his standards at his local guild in Mebuki City, but there's none that could fit his character. So, he is introduced to a few girls to see whether they could satisfy his requirements in retiring from the endless job, but instead they satisfy him in the perverseness of their own personalities, and monsters that don't just attack, but are unique in the way that they attack in pervy ways towards all women for the men to glimpse at their way of sight for some salivating goodness. Now that's some worry if he wants to train the girls to be just as capable as himself, both in the normal and mundane, and the sexy and sweet moments of intentionality. Man, Kikuru Madan has it tough. He's being obviously overworked as a guard, and the unfortunate situation of spending his youth to do a job like this, certainly doesn't befit ANY growing and budding teenager of all kinds. Like any sane young adult, Kikuru wants to be free from his cage, and sure he does, but it comes at the cost of the girls that he has to constantly fight with for their idiosyncrasies: the energetic beastwoman Hitamu "Hitamuki" Kyan, the prodigy Maidena Angers, the laid-back Tokishikko Dana, the strong warrior Hanabata Nohkins, and the trap Noma Rune. No doubt that each of them has traits befitting of their character and something that Kikuru can help them develop with, but where there are strengths, there are weaknesses as well, and for all the effort that Kikuru is investing in their lives, their defining characteristics are also what sets them back from reaching their potential, say Hitamuki's clumsiness and Hanabata's over-sized boobs that are a burden weight, on top of her powers that leaves her senseless. And doggone it that the monsters use these to their advantage, forcing the girls to perform unintentional sexual acts in front of Kikuru to gawk in dismay. To add to the intended comedy, the mother-daughter family of Enome and Esyne is eccentric in their approach towards Kikuru: the young man in question having felt for the mother, while Esyne is a capable daughter that has the wish fulfillment of wanting another child from a man, such is Kikuru being a "man of fervor" enough to be a father figure. Let's face it, you watch Futoku no Guild for the characters and their character development, that on top of all of the sexual depravity, feels heartfelt. If you have to have a studio adapting this, make sure it's one that knows the ins and outs of near-borderline ecchi, and out from the violent and somewhat weirdly satisfying sadism cringefest that is Redo of Healer, TNK is back making the absolute best that they can muster to adapt the manga...and is decent in all regards, except for all the ass-busting shots, they're on Level 69 of N I C E. Even the OST itself is just decent with Sayaka Sasaki and Minami Kuribayashi, not the best pairing but it is what it is. Although there's a nitpick if I would allow: the OP visuals are a joke for the first half, and then it suddenly going into all descriptive mode for the second half. It's lewd, it's pervy, it's ecchi! A decent watch all things considered, and you'd land yourself a fantasy dream of an unintended harem that's willing to be of sexual servitude to yours truly. It's a lot enjoyable than it looks, though how that'll fare to each and every individual, it's on taste alone.
This Masterpiece 'Futoku no Guild' easily overtakes second grade animes like 'Fullmetal Alchemist' or 'Shingeki no Kyojin'. George R. R. Martin would be SILLY, if he wouldn't draw some inspiration out of this unique plot. This Anime has 13 episodes and my favorite episode is every single one of them. You can't really tell, which noble lady is the most strongest, because every woman has its own VERY HUGE arguments. Some of them are smaller indeed, therefore they have other juicy advantages. The action... oh lord.., is taking to the MAX! The animations are crazy and you can feel every emotion. I've watched this masterpiece with my bois, and I'm still cryingand shaking right now.. It was so overwhelming, literally my pants flew off. And even the last episode blew my mind. I need one week of vacation after this. HOLY FUCK!
With God as my witness, I decided to watch this show because I saw a poster of the main character and thought he looked cool and distinct from the smorgasbord of Kirito clones at the helm of every fucking isekai ever, which piqued my curiosity. I had no idea this was an ecchi. As it so happens, Immoral Guild turned out to be one of the most generous echhi shows I have seen. No less than 10 times per episode, it teeters on the brink of being outright hentai with all manner of depraved kinks being indulged quite liberally, tentacle molestation evidently being a staple. Inspite of that, the show still manages to paradoxically feel exceedingly wholesome given how unassuming and likeable its cast is. In stark contrast to how lewd it is when compared to most of the other entries in the genre, Immoral Guild is the rare breed of ecchi anime that passes my litmus test. I’ve long suggested that the way to ascertain whether any given ecchi show is trash or not is to ask the question, would I watch it in the absence of the fanservice? Surprising no one more than myself, in this particular case, my answer would be, yes, probably. Whether or not I would actively seek it out to watch is a different story, but the point is that it would definitely be watchable. Even in the absence of the sex appeal, this is a really cute and funny gag show. Naturally, the sex appeal doesn’t hurt and credit must be given where it is due. Whereas loads of other shows want to tackle sex and sexual themes without ever actually showing any nudity, How Not to Summon a Demon Lord and Goblin Slayer come to mind, Immoral Guild is not only not shy about showing its fans the goods, it also knows exactly what kind of kinks and fetishes the average weeb enjoys and treats its audience to a gourmet course of fap material. There’s something in here for everyone. To whom it may concern, I want to emphasize one point in particular. It is important that you understand that this show is, in every sense of the word, not a cocktease. I have said before about other ecchi shows, Masou Gakuen HxH for instance, that you’re better off just watching actual hentai instead of wasting your time. That’s typically a consequence of those shows’ unwillingness to embrace their station. In spite of the obscene amount of teasing and/or nudity they put on screen, they still have the gall to expect the audience to take them seriously as authentic action-adventure shows, purporting that the fanservice is merely a secondary benefit, nothing else – a side hustle, if you will. While series like Tenjou Tenge and Fairly Tail may certainly claim that, smut like Sekirei, Ikkitousen, and indeed Masou Gakuen HxH can definitively not. As such, again, in spite of their substantially salacious nature, what with shoving tits and ass in your face every 20 seconds, you’ll find them unwilling to give any one individual scene an appropriate amount of oxygen, lest, God forbid, anyone conceive the thought that they really are nothing more than softcore porn. It’s honestly a frustrating experience – simultaneously too much to be able to pay attention and invest, but also never quite enough to really get you going. Au contraire, every lewd scene in Immoral Guild is satisfactorily long. It doesn’t pretend to actually be a sincere fantasy-adventure show, with the fanservice just being nothing more than a distraction. It knows exactly what it is and doesn’t… rush. It, uhm, takes its time and so can you. Besides, a large portion of what makes the characters as attractive as they are is just how well designed and animated they are. No single cast member feels like an afterthought, they all have unique visual identities and their designs are brimming with personality. The protagonist’s outfit, in particular, looks downright badass. The artwork is helped in part by a warm and saturated color palette, but the main element that makes it work is the animation. It is never less than good, but in a few select moments, it genuinely reaches the level of being godlike, and no, I’m not talking about lewd scenes. Though rare, there are some legitimately fantastic action scenes in this series. All of that being said, at the end of the day, this still is a very aggressive echhi show, and the great animation, flavorful designs, and the few and far between incidents of bona fide action are highly unlikely to make the show tolerable to you if you’re not a straight male or a lesbian, so proceed with that knowledge in mind.
Usually I am not the type of person to mix business (watching anime) with pleasure (watching NSFW content), but something about this show in particular really caught my attention. It's not anything revolutionary; it probably won't change your life and, there's no major subversion of the tropes of the genre, but the artstyle is really good, and there was clearly a lot of thought put into the designs of not only the characters, but also the places they inhabit. The action scenes were very enjoyable, the fanservice is very good (it has to be, for this type of show), the music fits the tone ofthe show, and the story is interesting enough that it'll keep you interested even between the ecchi moments that you're here for. In a sense, I would even dare call it a "cozy" show; there's no major stakes, so you can really have a chill time watching it. The characters are likeable and well designed, and I struggle to think of a single one of them that isn't memorable. You will definitely have a fun time watching this show, you can go into it knowing it'll be an enjoyable experience!
Monsters in this fantasy world seemingly exist primarily to restrain and do lewd things to women, and they will do so many, many, many times. If you're into that sort of thing, then you will undoubtedly like this show. In fact, I'd say it delivers on this premise in greater quantity and quality than any anime that I've ever seen. Need I say more? Apparently I do, or I can't publish this review. So here you go: Story - The main guy wants to leave his job, but he's surrounded by (mostly) incompetent girls. Think Konosuba, but with more focus on the ecchi. Art - The animation ispretty great where it counts, and the visuals of this fantasy world are very bright, colorful and pleasant to look at. Sound - The soundtrack is surprisingly nice to listen to, and the OP & ED are also both extremely catchy. Character - The girls are all cute, and the main guy is your standard tsukkomi. Enjoyment - I think this will be highly dependent on whether you are into the fetishes described at the beginning of this review or not. But in my opinion, there is some really good comedy here too. The manga is easily my favorite ecchi manga of all time, and this anime totally delivered for me, so it is easily my favorite ecchi anime of all time. I can understand how a fan of the manga might be disappointed by what was left out, but all of my personal favorite scenes were animated, so it's a 10/10 for me. I wish there were more anime like this.
“If you are distressed by anything external, the pain is not due to the thing itself, but to your estimate of it; and this you have the power to revoke at any moment.” I expected a shit ton of Ecchi stuff and cute characters with a generic not that retarded MC doing their things. My expectations were correct but even if they weren't who gives a fuck. I just would have changed them I am therefore fulfilled and in peace. People will hate this one. I could feel that in my bones."Why are the characters so busty? Why don't they act like people I know, Why aren't they morerealistic? I want my characters to have layers upon layers of character in them. Wah, wah, wah...." Pathetic. Just enjoy the Ecchi and have some fun with it. There are deep and amazing worlds and mind-bending stories with character and their ocean-level depths. This ain't one of their baby dolls. You will only live one time. You will not remember the amazing stories or great characters because you have not lived them. You will only remember your own story when it's your time. So have some fun with the ecchi FUN and go on with your lives more fulfilled by the voluptuousness of these characters (well, not all of them but you can't win them all and to be fair one of them is OP enough for 3 of them). Ecchi lovers, say itadakimasu before starting.
I love the way this anime doesn't try too hard to be the anime that have serious plot and conflict etc. Instead, it looks like they know that this anime will draw a lot of negative review or will not even have a high rate in any rating sites. It just tell a light story about twists and turns of life of the MC and for me that just want to watch to relax, this anime is relaxing to watch. Despite of erotic scene in this anime, I love how all of the characters are wholesome and know exactly about how erotic they can become. It is not like an innocent naked girls that too innocent to understand how sexy she become when naked. The MC want to have a nice youth with normal life, want to have a girlfriend, but also act like a normal guy when they encounter erotic accident this whole anime show us. He question about why these monsters act like this, and explain it in a good way I think. Not that absurd, and still acceptable. The female character also react reasonably when they attacked by monster and forced to be naked etc. They do not slap the mc to the sky or anything, they embarassed but also understand that this is not the mc fault, and they act reasonably. They blushing but still ask for help, asking for chlothing, and then move on, because that is the sexy encounter that they had faced, so why be so shy about it. If you compare this anime to other anime that provide good story, good character development, good conflict, mindblowing vilain, etc. I think this anime will not stand any chance, because that is now what this anime want to offer. This anime just want to offer us a small smile, and a boner, through their show, and they did.
My first impression was "I know this hentai plot" and I almost dismissed it because of that, after all there are several failed ecchi series that just have been better as a hentai, rather than the mess we got. This however gets the balance right, it is the right level of ecchi scenes to normal anime scenes, and the ecchi doesn't distract or detract from the progression of the anime. So I will say this is a decent ecchi, and lovers of ecchi anime will likely enjoy this somewhat. However in terms of the anime aspects, the humour / jokes, they tend to fall rather flat, and as a fantasy style anime, it's fairly mediocre. If this was funnier, and had a more engaging story, I would score this higher, but as it is, it's just average, which is a shame because this was almost a good ecchi anime
The anime is funny but lacks substance. Its mostly fanservice and not much else. Its the story of a young man Kikuru Madan who has wasted his youth training and working at the guild. He wants to retire but needs someone to replace him. He is put in charge of the newcomers: Hitamu Kyan a martial-arts cat-girl, Toxico Dannar a black mage, Maidena Ange a white mage, and Hanabata Nohkins the knight. Each of which is clumsy, lazy, or incompetent in their own way. Meaning Kikuru may never find a replacement. This setup sounds fun on paper the problem is there isn't a strong plot to propel the storyforward. The anime relies solely on fanservice. Its just these girls constantly getting tentacle r*ped by all the creatures they come across. Doesnt matter what kind of creature: slime, rabbits, bears, snakes, plants, they all just want to molest these girls while the main character stands there with a shocked look on his face. Its another one of those anime that may aswell have just been a hentai. All the characters are fine. They are all likeable and entertaining in their own way. Plus this anime is uncensored so you constantly get to see anime tits ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Just wish there was a stronger plot.
This will be a super ultra Armstrong jet canon review if I made a mistake sorry maybe I was high or just tired but anyways : Generic? sure but it's good fun imo. Overall the missions have the best animation, some moments are funny, others are just the usual fanservice stuff. Especially the mom 'Enome' and 'Esyne' moments were funny to me. The fanservice in it is decent. The characters? it depends really, we all know they aren't the best written for sure but on the fun side it really depends on your taste personally I like Hanabata for obvious reasons ;) . Nothing serious aboutit apart from the spider incident I might say. There's no clear story other than slaying monsters and coming back to town where SOL happen. If you are a passionate 'Ecchi fan' you should definitely check this out. Otherwise for me it was decent overall.
This show has some incredibly well explained world and a great sense of humor. Sure, it´s in the category of those animes that are quite ecchi but don´t let that make you think badly of this anime. It´s easily one of the best ecchi anime that I´ve seen in a while. And I´m not even talking just about the fanservice. As I said, it has a genuinely well explained world and magic system, A LOT of continuity with the situations that happen in the story and even some great fight scenes and nice moments between the characters. The characters are all really likeable and funnyas well by the way. I think there was genuine effort to make this a really awesome show and I hope it gets a season 2. Highly recommended.
When I first stumbled across Futoku no Guild, I was expecting something a lot more typical – and with a lot less nudity. But fortunately, this series deviates from the norms of its genre in an interesting way. The story is pretty straightforward – the male main character Kikuru wants to retire from his job as a guard (basically an adventurer who protects town) to go enjoy what’s left of his youth. However, he needs to find a good successor first. This is where the female cast comes in. Every episode is spent trying to train these girls into competent adventurers so that he can retire.Sounds simple so far, right? Well, it is. Except how Futoku no Guild works out in practice is better than I expected. It feels very much like a slice-of-life series in the way the episodes are set up, and in general the anime has a wholesome, upbeat kind of vibe. Rarely does it feel like a situation is actually dangerous. Furthermore, the dialogue between characters is genuinely funny. I think they nailed the comedic tone quite well in Futoku no Guild. Part of that is because of the way the characters have been cast – they are each very defined in their strengths, weaknesses and personalities. You could argue that they’re cardboard cut-outs, but I feel it would be more appropriate to call them suited for the roles they are meant to play. The girls are introduced one at a time so each one of them can be integrated into the party properly. Overall, I think the characters are fine and their banter entertaining. These party dynamics are what propel the series onwards. Now, there is an important part of Futoku no Guild we haven’t talked about yet – its ecchi factor. This anime shows nudity and borderline-hentai situations almost every single episode. And the strange thing is that it doesn’t feel as dirty as one would expect because they do their best to keep the dialogue and characters’ inner thoughts comical. Additionally, because they go the extra mile when it comes to the lewd scenes, this anime strangely enough avoids certain pitfalls that ecchi-comedy series tend to fall into. Most other series tend to stop at a slight tease and try to retain some sense of dignity (failing, of course) while also using the same type of humor over and over for those ecchi situations. Especially when you take into account the way the male and female cast members tend to respond in such situations. Futoku no Guild has no shame and the characters respond different from the norm in a way that feels refreshing. The visuals of this show are generally good. The lewd scenes in particular have a good budget and there are even a few action scenes that look very well animated. The character designs are appealing while staying relatively simple. I have no complaints in the graphical department. I barely remember sound effects or music, so they must have done the job well enough. The voice acting was appropriate, and especially Tokishikko (Toxico Dannar) was voice acted particularly well. I took a look at the VAs and almost all of them have either little experience or did mostly small supporting roles. I was surprised by this since their skill is really not subpar at all. Although I find it hard to put into words, what I have been trying to say is that Futoku no Guild is actually one of the better ecchi comedies I have ever watched. It’s upbeat and wholesome with a slice-of-life feel to it, the characters and banter are on point, the visuals and character designs are good and they don’t stop at a typical tease but go beyond that without shame. All in all, I actually quite enjoyed this show.
tl;dr: An anime that relies entirely on it’s pretty unique type of ecchi comedy. This anime is a ecchi harem fantasy comedy about a highly skilled adventurer Hunter named Kikuru leading a party of newbies as they go on quests to defeat monsters surrounding their town. The problem is that the other four members of his party all have quirks that make them useless. Hitamu is a Martial Artist, but she’s too straightforward with her attacks and thus can never seem to hit anyone. Maidena is a White Mage with great healing abilities, but her knees go weak at the sight of monsters and thus she’snever there when it counts. Toxico is a Black Mage that can use a lot of powerful spells but she’s incredibly weak physically to the point she often runs out of stamina before even getting to the monsters. Then there’s Hanabata, a Warrior that’s overall pretty competent, but her special ability turns her into a drunk mess. Kikuru ends up having to babysit them pretty much, which ends up making things harder than it would be if he was working alone. Still, his goal is ultimately train them to be strong enough that he can retire without worry, so he sticks with them. The anime is mostly a chronicle of them just going into the forest near their town and facing random monsters or going through preparations to do so. There’s no overarching plot beyond that, though there is some surprisingly interesting and deep worldbuilding. The main characters get fleshed out somewhat with some background, but there’s not much in terms of character arcs. There’s also some light relationship development, but nothing too much. This largely comes down to Kikuri being immensely dense to any affections the heroines feel for him, though this handles that better than most anime in that it at least gives a clear reason why Kikuri is like that: early on in the anime he misunderstands another’s feelings for romantic affection and gets shot down hard. Ultimately, the two core aspects of this anime are the comedy and ecchi. The comedy is decent enough. The core of it is the main heroines being terrible at things and bringing about bizarre situations, though there’s enough variety beyond that that it doesn’t get too repetitive. Ecchi wise it was pretty good as well, though it was very different from the ecchi in most ecchi anime. For one, there’s not much ecchi centered around the protagonist. There certainly is some, but for the most part he’s just a bystander or someone trying to rescue the heroines from the ecchi circumstances they’ve gotten themselves into. And these circumstances usually involve the heroines getting molested by monsters. It’s the first time I’ve seen that so heavily played for comedy in an ecchi anime so it was definitely unique, though if that’s a good or bad thing will come down to personal preference. Another unique element was that this had full on ecchi with the otokonoko (that’s the correct term these days, right?). Otokonoko aren’t uncommon in such anime, but ecchi scenes with them are usually treated mostly like a joke. This was much more equal opportunity about it, for better or worse. I really liked the art style and the character designs were pretty great too. The animation was also really solid. Of course for the ecchi, but it was also surprisingly really solid for the action. The OP and ED were both pretty solid in terms of the song and visuals. The soundtrack was also really memorable because it’s the best I’ve heard so far in capturing the feel of Dragon Quest’s soundtrack. The atmosphere it created allowed the parody aspect to work really well.
After watching this anime, I have seen some parts where girls gets stripped, and certain scenarios where it practically leans on the boarder of being a hentai but not there yet. There are some common tropes that show up here are there, like when a female character trips and lands on top of the male character with her breasts on his face. Now personally I like that, but not sure if the "over-the-top" fan service is enjoyable for others. The art style on each character was unique, and it gives them characteristics that define them individually. There were times when the femalecharacters get both molested and stripped by various monsters per episode, and being rescued every time. Yet there are some comical value for these scenarios, so whether you find that humorous or a turn-off, that is for you to decide when you watch these episodes. All-in-all, I find the anime quite enjoyable to watch, and the storyline was easy to understand and follow.
I don't know what to write in this review, but I will try to summarize some of the points that make this anime so good in my eyes. story: when I first saw that there was an ecchi genre in this anime, I didn't expect anything, because I think ecchi anime must always sell fan service in the story. and indeed in this anime also sells fan service, but this anime does not sell cheap fan service like most anime. the fan service they provide is balanced with a story that I think is very good, without any gimmicks or other unclear things. visual : What doyou expect from anime fan service?, that was the sentence that came to mind when I was going to watch this anime. but it turned out that the thought disappeared immediately after I tried to watch this anime. the visuals were so good that I forgot it was an ecchi anime. opening / ending : I don't know how to explain it, the point is when I listen to the song in this anime I feel a sense of nostalgia for the old anime
Unironically one of the better animated and quality consistent seasonal anime adaptations for the season and probably the year. This show had more budget, effort and dedication in production than a lot of manga and light novel adaptations, and its a (praise be) an ecchi comedy of all things. The studio and team behind this clearly respect the source material and it shows they have worked alongside the mangaka (unlike the series about a mallet and cookies). If you want a real ecchi anime with good comedy and a fun fantasy setting that isn't the monthly isekai and about a hardworking and honest man tryingto seek retirement then I highly recommend Futoku no Guild (mainly alone, or with your friends I don't judge).
