The Gates of Hell reopen, throwing the world into chaos and setting demons free to terrorize the land once again. These troubles seem irrelevant to quirky villager Touka Scott—until a demon attacks Yuna Eunice, his childhood friend. Luckily, the legendary hero Sion Blandan arrives in the nick of time to strike down the vile creature. Unfortunately, Sion soon dies after accidentally falling into a trap Touka set to defend his radish farm. Anri Haysworth, Sion's necromancer companion, resurrects the hero by transferring Touka's soul into Sion's corpse. Now possessing the body of the legendary hero, Touka is tasked with resealing the Gates of Hell and defeating the demons that threaten peace. Together with Yuna and Anri, Touka copes with both his new reality and Sion's heroic legacy as he embarks to save the world. [Written by MAL Rewrite]

Some may call it a “guilty” pleasure anime, but for me there’s nothing “guilty” about it. I unabashedly loved Yuusha Ga Shinda and it was one of my favourite shows of Spring 2023. It’s degenerate, silly, illogical, has hot waifus and embraces all of it. I loved every moment of this show and will definitely be reading the manga to get more of this. As someone who went into this show completely blind, I thought it would be a nice fanservice-y fantasy show to relax with on Thursdays, but after the first episode I realised this was a pretty unique plot set up. The concept ofthe hero dying and having his body controlled by the MC was something I’ve never seen before and made for an interesting story. The thigh fetish trope is also a welcome addition. It’s not for everyone, but for me it’s hot and increased my enjoyment. What can I say, I like what I like. It’s always nice to get fantasy stories where the MC isn’t super OP. Makes things more interesting and there’s an element of strategy that actually has to go into fights. The MC being weak also gives the supporting cast the opportunity to shine and get properly developed, which they often don’t have in fantasy stories. I really liked the supporting characters in this one. They all play big roles in the party’s success and are more than just fanservice relief characters which is a big plus. I will say the story wasn’t the strongest, so don’t come into this expecting anything well written. It’s essentially your usual fantasy: form party, set out to save the world, etc., with a few unique twists due to the MC not having full control of the hero’s abilities. What really carried my enjoyment in this show is Touka’s fascination with thighs, the waifus and the comedy. It may not be Konosuba, but it’s dumb fun that I just really like. Not everything has to be well written to be enjoyable. For me anyway. The animation in the show is passable. It’s nothing to write home about, but it’s not bad either. The art style is your usual modern anime bright colour palettes and modern designs. Nothing really stands out about the show from a technical or artistic point of view. Again, this show really does just rely on your ability to enjoy a really silly story. This show isn’t for everyone and by now you should know if you’re into these types of shows. If you want something with substance and depth, this ain’t it. If you just want to turn your brain off and enjoy an anime ass anime, then this is for sure one for you. I am really going to miss this show on Thursdays, but am looking forward to the manga. Yuusha Ga Shinda gets 9 out of 10.
IT'S OFFICIAL! T H I C C thighs DO save lives! And with that, welcome to voraciously dumb fun, not to be taken seriously. I mean, where else would you get a story that has a character, who LOVES thighs, poses as the main hero, and gets to do everything that the Hero does? Only in mangaka Subaruichi's Yuusha ga Shinda! a.k.a The Legendary Hero Is Dead! will you experience that kind of insanity. And quite frankly, this does not have every right to be as good as it is, with its mindless entertainment that serves to fulfil the egomaniac in us that heroes can bejust, but also wacky as well. Although the anime presents itself as a quarter and more of the completed manga (which ranges a total of 202 chapters in 20 volumes, serialised between December 2014 and December 2020), it is no doubt a show that presents itself as unhinged, apart from another show this season (i.e. KamiKatsu) that shows us that in dumbfounded entertainment, there's some fun to be had. In a small village, rests one ordinary former by the name of Touka Scott. The ordinary, dishevelled-looking young man with a pension for thicc thighs to harass any girl and dress her up with stockings is a guy who lives for his entertainment alone. But when he gets involved in a situation where the Legendary Hero is killed by one of his animal-laden traps, Touka finds himself in a situation where he has to pose as the revered character Sion Breydan, crescent with the Sacred Sword, who sealed away the Demon King and his army in the typical fantasy world's war. Now, after some time, the Demon King's seal has begun to weaken, and the Legendary Hero Sion must be called forth to put an end to the war once again to save humanity from demons. But thankfully, there is Sion's partner in the form of necromancer Anri Haynesworth, who, after noticing the harrowing situation, extracts Touka's soul and stores it in this casket while Touka takes over Sion's body, posing as the Hero in the typical humans vs. demons' war. In his conquest to defeat the Demon King once again, Touka is not alone in this journey. Accompanying him, along with Anri, is Yuna Yunis, the childhood friend of Touka's that she dreamed of being a mage growing up, but that her superhuman strength and absence of magical abilities frustrated her, more than Touka constantly harassing her with the thighs and stockings affair. Coincidentally, the girl who has feelings for Sion now has to deal with Touka taking over the Legendary Hero's body, where he is free to continue his thigh-loving exploits, but overall, she still has to deal with the actual plot. It's a case of a plot with THE plot, which happens so much in the typical fantasy world story, but while the execution can be hit-or-miss, it's generally regarded as a decent story overall. First off, the plotline of the Legendary Hero being killed in a silly fashion, feels refreshing and is a sight to behold. Most typical Isekai fantasy stories start off in the same copy-paste summoned-to-OP fashion, but even if the show isn't Isekai, it's immediately clear that this is a parody of sorts that knows how to poke fun at the genre and isn't afraid to be nonchalant about it. Say what you will about Touka, but apart from the perverted thigh-ing side of him, he is generally a good character at heart, fighting for what matters to him the most. Same goes for Yuna, with her mage desire having to come to play in the unforeseen of circumstances. Sure, the side characters, from Sion's right-hand man Kyle Osment to Princess Marguerite Farom have no shame towards each other, but they feel every bit as unhinged as they come. Together, with Touka, Anri and Yuna, the conquest to defeat the Demon King is more than just quintessential, including the silly and stupefied jokes that invoke the ecchi and comedy in this action-adventure plot line that comes off not as bad as you think it is. For much of the studio's reputation, Liden Films is the studio that is the "Jack of all trades, and Master of none". Sure, it's a decent adaptation of the manga, albeit with rushed development, it can feel like the anime is running through its paces against the manga quicker than anyone would've thought. To me, it's just alright with no complaints to be made, and on director Rion Kujo's part (which he has constantly been falling off this position from time to time), both the quality and quantity could have been managed just a tad better. The music, though, is something else. I've long praised Anisong composer Masayoshi Ooishi for the songs that he brought to the table for shows big and small, and he came through again with "Shinda!", his newest head-bopping OP song to date. As Princess Marguerite's VA, Yurika Kubo may not have a strong presence despite being a veteran in the anime industry, but I've really gotta say that along with the OP, her ED is a bop too, which makes it two-for-two in the most unusual, but engaging way to not skip both songs in episodic succession. Honestly, I could tell you that the reason to watch this show is purely for the music aspect alone, along with the colourful visuals and animation that synchronize well with the songs (especially the ED with the daikons, the dancing leaves, and the jumping). Yuusha ga Shinda! a.k.a The Legendary Hero Is Dead! is not a perfect show by any means of the word, but for what it is, I can appreciate this show for being a no-holds barred show to turn your brain off just for the sake of messy, character-stricken comedy that somehow gels together to create a good time. Only if you have free time on your hands, I do recommend this show just to take a beating of how comically bad, or good, Isekai shows have become, and especially in these kinds of times, parody shows like this are what we REALLY need in the charts now. As McDonald's would say: I'm (not) lovin' it, but likin' it.
Ah, finally we got a breath of fresh air after being tortured by poorly made self-insert fantasy stories. And unlike those shows, Shinda clearly knows what it is and doesn't try to make a straight face while being stupid. I'll be honest, if you are looking for stellar visuals - you came to the wrong place. Stellar sound design is not really here either, but it is good enough in delivering character lines. And what characters, oh boy. We were fed for so long with empty, blank and bland heroes for self-insert, that looking at our protagonist is so refreshing. And the fact thathe isn't your average good boy, but a random degenerate pulled into events he clearly wasn't cut for makes it even better. Even better - it is not your comfortable world where everyone stays completely ignorant to the protagonist's weirdness, but it is instead taken into account and used to create pure dumb fun. All the side characters have their own screws loose and are fun to follow. I’ll be honest - there is nothing much to add here. If you want some fun - watch it. But if you don’t take horny jokes well - you might want to skip it.
This is as close to a KonaSuba spiritual successor as you’re gonna find. It’s the exact same sort of nonsense and debauchery people loved KS for. It’s not quite as good. But it’s very very good. The jokes don’t hit as hard but it vibes nicely. The 6.6 /10 this is rocking currently as of July 2023 is a complete joke. Virtue signaling I guess. At the end of the day, if you loved KobaSuba you should appreciate and love this too, even while acknowledging it’s not as good.Character art 9/10 - nicu waifu’s, and the protagonist (both bodies) looked good Backgrounds 6/10 - acceptable Animation 7/10 - nothing mind blowing but looked good Pacing 9/10 - this was surprising but the pacing was very good Character development 7/10 - expected this to be a 0/10 considering the content but it was actually done well Music 8/10 - enjoyable overall and the opening animation/music was very cool Ending 8/10 - satisfying and sets up for a sequel Parody 8/10 - liked what they did, especially with the lance dude Jokes 8/10 - solid stuff here. Not top tier but can’t complain at all Villains 9/10 - usually have complaints but I liked what we were given quite a lot, and the main bad dude did a great job Overall a high 8/10 I think.
I was pleasantly surprised by The Legendary Hero is Dead. When I started watching The Legendary Hero is Dead, I didn't have high expectations. Honestly, I thought it would be a good "snack" while I waited for a new season of a better anime. Fortunately, I was wrong. While The Legendary Hero is Dead is not a masterpiece, it is definitely a pleasant story that will make you have a much better time than you expected. This anime has a well-made, well-constructed, and well-narrated story. You will not find any clichés. Instead, you will have interesting people with great personalities who will have something unexpected to tell youuntil the last chapter. One aspect that I personally enjoyed a lot is that, unlike most anime, which always have stories about alchemists, here we are presented with an adventure with "necromancers." Necromancy is a branch of magic about which there are very few stories. It made me do more research and learn new things about witches and magic. In conclusion, The Legendary Hero is Dead is not a run-of-the-mill anime. While it is not a masterpiece, it is a great story that will give you excellent moments. Don't be afraid to give it a chance!

Animation is a little above average. Action scenes are not particularly impressive, but then again not terrible. Backgrounds are fine, and the characters are drawn with enough detail. Nothing impressive, but good enough. Characters are fun, but not terribly deep. I would say the characters are likeable for the right audience, but not for everyone. I think they play off eachother nicely though. The story isn't too deep, but it's different enough and is pretty fun. Pacing, while not amazing, is very competent and keeps things fun. Voice acting is fine. Kind of grating and not all that impressive, but I think the casting ispretty good. Soundtrack is fine, but not memorable in anyway. I did really like the op/ed, very fun. Sound effects were kind of bad though. Overall it's rough around the edges, and I don't think it's by any means a great anime. However, I think it's fun... for the right audience. For the wrong audience it's probably pretty grating. 6.4/10
Hey folks, this will be my review for Yuusha ga Shinda. Simply put it's not very good. It is however a semi funny little time waster. I think we can skip over the paragraphs of text I usually put in and focus in on the tagged theme "Parody". I have no idea if the original creator purposefully made this shitty to parody the other shows they view as absurd, or it is just a shitty show/manga. There is a lot we can unpack and digest but it doesn't deserve that, so Ill summarize quickly. The story isn't half bad if you're just there for entertainment, but it also constantly stops to fill you in on the tons of information we miss off screen. This includes powers, plans, traps...etc. The art is simply muddy and not at all interesting. Whether its a fight scene or one of the numerous ecchi scenes we are treated to less than pleasant art and animation. The characters again are somewhat interesting, or they could be if anything was done with them. Touka and Yuna are the only ones with any growth at all and its pathetic. It's one of the first shows I ever thought to turn on 1.5 speed for and I think it was the right thing to do. Pathetic is actually a great word for this show in general. Some of you may wish to analyze whether or not this show is an actual pile of crap, or if its just a convincing replica, I however don't care. I knew this show wasn't going to be a masterpiece and I simply wanted to be entertained and it did alright in that regard. If your looking for anything remotely resembling quality I wouldn't in good conscience recommend this to you, however if your self aware enough not to take yourself seriously and know that this is your kind of thing you might get a laugh or two. I'm not sure I would want to watch it again, but I would watch a season two, which they do hint at. This show is premium "It sucks, but I liked it". This was not "so bad it was good", you need to be aware of the difference. This show is bad, and for some reason I had a good time, you may not.
Sleeper anime of the year, I didn't expect this would be a good show, I thought for sure that this was some generic action fantasy show. What I love about this anime is the strategies and clever ways to tackle the problem presented, that's why I love Hunter X Hunter 2011, Tomodachi Game & battle in 5 seconds, even though one character is not that powerful, they can even the odds through strategies. The Comedy gag was average but there are parts of comedies that was not part of the gag that are way too funny, so to me it satisfies the comedy tag there. Theecchi is just the cherry on top for me, it's the reason why I even watch this in the first place, it was a decent ecchi, the old school ecchi, unlike the new ones where they implied to actually do it (well I also love that but MAL finally separate them & gave them new genre).
Well this is degenerate trash that I probably would have not bothered to even look at but if you want to know if it's your type check out the trailer THOSE BIG JUICY THIGHS are what convinced me to give this one a go , and I was not disappointed. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) But wait DON'T DROP IT just yet , it's not all about the fanservice , if you are able to tolerate a bit of the scumbag behavior and weird thigh cultism , there is actually a decent narrative underneath this is a actually decent narrative that manages to make for afun watch. my thoughts on this one aren't too profound. I just initially watched it because I am a thighs enthusiast but to discuss other aspects I'll just jump straight to the ratings this time. First of all This is not an isekai. Somehow there is a gross misconception that all cheap fantasy involving hero and demon lords must have some sorta isekai element but this is not the case here. That said , an setting with demon lord and heroes does need a decent bit of worldbuilding and power scaling and we do manage to get both albeit not a very strong system. The world building is actually pretty good with the Hero of old having had a pretty good impact on it as well And ilike that the MC has actually got a well written and tragic past and he learnt the skills that are actually interesting out of the box and lead to hilarious outcomes and fights. plot is a 7/10 characters are quite fun but they do remain one dimensional like touka being the perv / hero , yuuna the second man who hits the mc all the time , the hime being classic damsel and so on. id go with a 6/10 here Although the art and animation leave much to be desired they do shine where they need to , like the fanservice moments ;3 and some of the fights id give art and animation, the art in general is a bit more unique with some unique character designs here and there. a 6/10 Op is really well made the VA is a bit corny but that is just how the dialogues are , the ost is decent but most the devils sound kinda crap but i guess that may or may not be intentional i mean they said they are all perverts. probably a 7/10 again This is a good show if you can tolerate the over the top fanservice that is quite repetitive so dont expect it to go away , the narrative is quite decent so ill recommend atleast giving the first three episodes a shot. this is a subjective one tho and if you hate fanservice , stay away.
Funny but kinda badly paced. With some stuff dragging on for too long. The story is about a young farmer boy Touka who is great at traps and really really loves thighs. His village is attacked by a demon but the day is saved by the hero Shion. But then Shion falls into Touka's trap and dies... Shion's body is reanimated by his necromancer companion, and Touka is placed in Shion's body. And now its up to Touka to defeat the Demon Lord and seal the Gates of Hell just like the hero did years ago. Accompanying him on his journey are: his childhood friend Yuna who admired thehero, Anri the necromancer and Shion's companion, and Marguerit a princess who was supposed to marry Shion. Touka is not that strong. But despite being a pervert he is very clever, knows how to plan and make traps. Boddy swapping and multiple souls inhabiting one body is a very common occurrence in this anime. And is constantly used as a strategy in fights. My biggest issue with this anime comes from an issue that alot of action anime share. The fights are not choreographed in a way that is fun or satisfying to watch. These one-sided fights where the villain just stands there and the hero constantly gets knocked down over and over and over. These dragged out fights have never been fun for me.
It's ecchi, lots of degenerate moments and humor, production is decent and yet it ends up being a good story. What is good about it is character development, yep, they have this in this stupid trashy ironic show. And all characters involved grow during the season which I appreciate as so many higher rated shows don't exactly know how to do that. Obviously overall it jokes around a lot from the degenerate pervy MC, from the nonsensical nudity (both male and female, so they are honest about it) to many characters being fetishists or straight up perverts. It's clear that if you feel offended by that kindof humor you won't have fun with that show and that's ok. I found it amusing that it can create wholesome episodes with all of that surrounding the narrative and the characters and they made a satisfying ending to the season. There were similar shows of MC trying to stick to himself in peace and getting involved in random bs situations and this one is done on a better level than the rest. The tropes are somewhat typical but as usual it's about the execution of those tropes and in this case clearly it's above most of similar shows. I enjoyed it, it didn't bore me and I would like a Season 2.
It had a lot of potential and there is some high moments, but overall it just wasn't what it should have been. The main problem was that he didn't get the comic timing right. Perhaps it would have worked with a more ridiculous comedy and lacked serious contrasting elements. They tried to bring a Kono Suba-type humor, which has a proven right formula of parody with fantasy, action and ecchi. However, they did without an Aqua, without a Megumin and without a Darkness, just with Touka who is a slightly more virtuous version of Kazuma. There is one or another moment that some other character besidesTouka is used to try to produce something comic, but it usually doesn't work and they are punctual moments of characters that don't make a comic pair with the protagonist. Even Touka, precisely because he is a more correct Kazuma, in this comic aspect only has slightly acceptable results from the middle of the anime onwards. Right at the beginning of the season I took a look at the manga and the jokes worked much better in it. I won't exaggerate and say that the manga is perfect, but if it had been adapted into an anime by the right team, by people who would improved the proposal, we could have had something exceptional. It definitely needed a good director to mainly deliver the right pace, the right tone, explore the right things and cut the wrong things. The production also seems to have had a low budget, as the work has common traits, generic scenarios, inadequate colors, the absence of a soundtrack at times, and a lack of more funny facial expressions. How to make jokes without contrasts? I think the work should be more sleazy, but making it comic needs a serious part. There is a lack of contrasts, and it's not that there aren't any, they just aren't enough. The dead hero doesn't seem serious, the kingdom doesn't seem serious, the villains don't seem serious, the mayor doesn't seem serious, the allies don't seem serious, almost nothing seems serious. When everything is a joke, nothing works as a joke. In order to maintain a typical adventure atmosphere, while nothing is treated seriously, nothing is treated entirely as a joke either. It's not just a matter of not working because everything is a joke, it's because everything is in between. There is a biblical phrase that says the following: "because you are lukewarm, and you are neither hot nor cold, I will vomit you". In addition, this lack of seriousness also makes the whole plot unbelievable, forced. Good jokes are subversive, offbeat, and clever. I won't say that it was all bad, since the anime has an adventure that left me wanting to see where this story will go. Another point was that I loved the opening, because it summarizes the work well and also has a great song. Also, I really like Jiraiya-type characters, or Master Roshi, who produce impolitically correct humor. Furthermore, the anime has some very interesting Waifus.
Yuusha ga Shinda!: A Humorous and Irreverent Take on the Hero's Journey Yuusha ga Shinda! is a surprisingly good show that takes a humorous and irreverent approach to the classic hero's journey. Here's what I loved about it: Coherent and Well-Paced Plot: The plot knows where it's going and doesn't waste time with filler episodes. The story progresses smoothly, keeping you engaged from start to finish. Well-Developed and Likable Characters: The characters in the show are well-developed and likable, including the side characters. Each one gets enough screen time to be fleshed out and relatable, adding depth to the overall narrative. Sharp and Witty Humor: The humor in Yuusha ga Shinda!is sharp and witty. The show cleverly pokes fun at itself and the genre without being mean-spirited. It embraces its ridiculousness and delivers laughs throughout. Ludicrous Fanservice with Self-Awareness: Yes, the fanservice in the show is over-the-top and ludicrous. However, it's important to note that Yuusha ga Shinda! is self-aware and doesn't take itself too seriously. It knows it's ridiculous and doesn't try to hide it. Unique Opening (OP) Animation: The show boasts a unique opening theme (OP) animation. Set to a catchy pop song, the OP combines 2D and 3D animation. The characters are presented in 2D, while the background and effects are rendered in 3D. The result is a visually striking OP that effectively sets the tone for the show and adds an extra layer of excitement. Some aspects to consider: Potential Offense for Some Viewers: Due to its ecchi nature, Yuusha ga Shinda! may not be suitable for viewers easily offended by fanservice. If you're sensitive to this type of content, it's best to approach it cautiously. Slow-Burning Start: The show does have a slow start, with the first few episodes being more of a slow burn. However, it gradually picks up the pace and becomes more engaging as the story progresses. Animation: The animation in Yuusha ga Shinda! is a bit of a mixed bag. While the character designs are simple yet expressive, and the action scenes are well-choreographed, there are moments when the animation can be choppy. So, the overall quality doesn't match that of some other anime. Despite its shortcomings, the animation does contribute to character development in a few notable ways. The simplicity of the character designs makes it easy to read and understand the character's emotions, particularly for the protagonist, Touka, as he grapples with his new role as a hero. Additionally, the action scenes effectively showcase Touka's growth as a fighter, becoming more fluid and dynamic as he gains experience. Conclusion: In conclusion, Yuusha ga Shinda! is a delightful and entertaining show that caters to comedy, fantasy, and adventure fans. It offers a unique take on the hero's journey with its humorous and irreverent approach. If you enjoy witty humor and well-paced storytelling and can embrace its ludicrous fanservice, this anime will leave you laughing and thoroughly entertained.
Overall, the anime is good; it has a great plot and hooks that could make you want to jump to the next episode. The characters are also quite "alive," and the main character's trait is that of a character we would respect "besides all the ecchi stuff.". However, I still think that the story itself still lacks spice. For example, they could have delved deeper into the story of how the MC and his teacher met and how she trained him. They could have delved much deeper into the story of the MC's parents and how much they impacted his life. Other than that, Ido think that the antagonist owes us a bit of a backstory on his agenda and his life in hell. However, despite all of it's downsides, I still think that this anime is still a great anime that I would recommend for those who like robins by that I mean charters who loves helping people in the dark). It's definitely an anime I would like for it's second season.
Absolutely criminal that this anime does not get more recognition. It is worth every bit of your attention and a must watch for people who like fantasy comedy anime such as Cautious Hero. Comedy is over the top while having an underlying serious plotline. Characters are fleshed out and have their own motivations. Main character is just a hilarious degenerate but even then he is not a bad person. Also the OP is an absolute banger. If this anime had been longer I probably would have given it a 10. Incredible anime and I hope it gets a season 2. Watch it, seriously.
In a sea full of harem/fantasy shows (that have saturated the anime community), it's hard to pick out shows that are worth watching. With so many of the same generic shows, with the same plot (i.e., MC gets reincarnated, needs to save the world, is weak but becomes super OP by episode 2-3, then has a flock of girls fall in love with him for little to no reasons) and kirito clone MCs, you might think venturing into this genre is a waste of time. For the most part, you're right. However, Yuusha ga Shinda! is a fun, entertaining harem/fantasy show, that doesn't suck as muchas the rest of these types of shows. It does have some element of "saving the world" but it really isn't THAT central to the plot and I feel like the show focuses more on the relationships between the main cast more so than the plot itself. I'd say if you have nothing else to watch currently, then you should give this anime a shot. Now if you are a harem/fantasy type of person, this show is right down your alley (and is much better than a majority of these harem/fantasy shows out there!) PROS: - MC isn't afraid of characters of the opposite sex and actually acts like a male around females (shocker!) - MC knows what he wants and isn't afraid to ask for it - Plot isn't overly complicated; a little basic but there still is a story to follow - There is a harem - Girl cast is likeable - Animation/art are both pretty good (you don't have to worry about that) - Comedic moments that are somewhat funny - Show doesn't try to be overly profound/deep and doesn't try to be something its not - no extremely annoying characters CONS: - There is a harem (for those who dislike harems) - basic/simple plot (if you're looking for a complex/deep story, this show isn't the show!) - Show falls flat at certain moments - no real meaningful development in relationship(s) - comedy is kinda hit or miss at times FINAL ANALYSIS: If you're anything like me, you just want to know if a show is terrible or not and you just want that extra confirmation before you watch it. Let's be honest here, you probably saw this show from an IG reel or some social media and thought it looked interesting or maybe you're really into harem/fantasy. If either are the case, then I definitely recommended the show (despite with the MAL score or other reviews say). It's nothing mind-blowing or revolutionary, but it is somewhat a step above all the other lack luster shows out there. Sometimes you get that harem crave/itch and just want to find a quick show with a decent plot/MC/girls/art style and there's nothing wrong with that. From time to time, I get those cravings too and I believe that this show is one of those shows that will satisfy that craving.
I really enjoyed this anime. I tend to be a relatively hard scorer and I think it's kinda crazy the low rating on this while also having only 1 negative review. I like that the show has a very clear plot from the beginning to the end. There's no real fluff anywhere in the show. Yes, there is ecchi, however it never really intrudes to aggressively. The main character is a bit too over-the-top at times but its not uncommon in animes to see characters like him, however I definitely would have enjoyed the show a bit more if his ludeness was dropped down just abit. You use the same joke over and over again and it really does start to become distracting. We really only see the main character develop through flashbacks and those flashbacks could have been a bit longer. The characters are a bit 1 dimensional. In general though, I feel like the show does decently well to keep you engaged. I would have love to have seen a 2nd season, this is the perfect anime to have 24 episodes of to finish the story off, but it looks like this 1 season will probably be the finish. If you ignore the very last bit of the ending where they talk about heading off we really could have had the perfect ending for a show to be cancelled on, alas animes are horrible with trying to wrap a season in a way that if they don't get renewed you're left on a cliffhanger. It's a decent watch if you have some downtime from other animes, want to see a little ecchi in your anime without it being overbearing, or enjoy parody animes.

Behold, THE thigh man anime! This is a hero fantasy gag comedy with a great balance of seriousness, comedy, and ecchi, where our good-for-nothing MC resolves conflicts in ridiculous ways for ridiculous reasons while staying true to his character and the story keeping a consistent power scaling. Nothing truly feels out-of-place or a nonsensical "asspull" for progression or fanservice; everything is thought out and makes sense despite the ridiculousness. As someone who has read all of the manga, this adaptation gives me mixed feelings, though mostly disappointment but not as bad as I was prepared for. I was surprised at how well some of it was done, such as the art, facial expressions, and the opening. However, the most glaring issue that brings its quality down considerably is the terribly fast pacing. The pacing is so fast that a lot of content (mostly gags or context) is cut, many events immediately transition which easily ruins the intensity or humor, and some fights are left very lacking. A lot of the charm of Yuusha ga Shinda! was the set of running gags that evolve beautifully as the story progresses, but much of this is cut due to the pacing. So what would normally be a perfect balance of seriouesness, comedy, and ecchi, the seriousness is slightly toned down, the comedy got beaten with a sledgehammer, and the ecchi practically stayed the same. It's still a great balance, but far from perfect. While the anime is a disappointing adaptation of a masterpiece, it still holds up in many ways and manages an 8/10 from me. If the premise interests you but you're considering dropping it, then give the manga a chance. It doesn't matter if the hero is dead; as long as beautiful thighs exist, evil will never win.
This anime is a hidden gem within the comedy genre, offering a refreshing and delightful experience with its unique cast of characters and unexpected plot twists. While there are moments that may not elicit as many laughs as anticipated, the overall narrative and dynamic interactions between the characters create a charming and engaging viewing experience. The anime skillfully blends light-hearted humor with deeper character development, resulting in a story that keeps you invested from start to finish. Although this show may not have gained widespread popularity, its distinct style and captivating storytelling make it a must-watch for anyone seeking a comedy anime that breaks awayfrom the conventional mold. If you're looking for a show that offers a mix of humor, heart, and a dash of quirkiness, this anime is an excellent and worthwhile choice.
