In his past life, Prince Lloyd de Saloum was a commoner who could not become adept at magic, no matter how knowledgeable or obsessed he was about it. Now reincarnated into his current royal lineage, he receives a body with seemingly endless mana, making his desire to master all things arcane attainable. Moreover, as the seventh prince of the kingdom, Lloyd has no claim to the throne, allowing him to nurture his abilities as freely as he wants. Unfortunately for Lloyd, ancient seals that imprison powerful demons begin to break down and release the horrors within, endangering the peace. With these monstrosities roaming around, Lloyd's overwhelming magical prowess is the ultimate weapon that can neutralize these threats before all things descend to chaos. [Written by MAL Rewrite]

Dainanaoji is arguably the biggest surprise of the season. I came into this series expecting some laughs and thick shota thighs and ended up experiencing one of the best 12 episode stories this season. Surprisingly God tier quality Sakuga, awesome characters, interesting story an OP protagonist who isn’t your run of the mill isekai/reincarnation MC, this is a must watch for any fantasy or isekai fan. I was on the fence with watching this one for the first month or so of the season and eventually decided to peep it because of Tao and Sylpha pics that I saw on Twitter. From episode 1 I wasinstantly hooked and by episode 5, I was very comfortable putting this in my top 10 new shows of the season vid. It’s hilarious, it’s fast paced, wacky but endearing. The MC, Lloyd being more interested in magical research and testing his magical abilities rather than saving the world or some cliche fantasy plot line made things quite interesting and the devious way he approaches fighting makes him out to be more intimidating than any demon. I mean seriously, don’t let the cute design fool you, this guy is straight up scary in the best possible way and doesn’t hesitate to kill when needed. Speaking of that design, it’s definitely targeting a certain demographic and plays heavily into it, but it wasn’t nearly as distracting as I thought it would be. It was certainly the most I’d ever seen a male character naked or having their clothes torn off. I just wonder if they’ll ever find this dude some pants. The other big draw for me here is the side characters and their relationships with Lloyd. Sylpha, the busty overly obsessed maid, Tao the beautiful martial artist with a crush on Lloyd’s alter ego and Lloyd’s family. Being a 7th Prince, Lloyd is nowhere near the throne, but even then, in a lot of shows we’d see a family recognise the OP MC’s talent and try to force them to succeed. Not the case here, they fully respect Lloyd’s desire to conduct magical research and share that with those who can’t use magic in the kingdom. We didn’t see a ton of his family members, but the few we did see all seem to be diverse characters with their own interests. It’s just a cool family who all respect one another and I found that so refreshing. The first half of the show the story is solid, but the last 3-4 episodes is where things really got special for me. A proper villain who was a challenge for Lloyd, amazing animation, some nice stakes and an emotional twist. Just a very solid seasonal story all around. If you’re anything like me and a big seasonal fan, you’ll find these episodes go by in seemingly seconds! Just briefly want to touch on how beautiful the art is in this show. Character designs are so bright and full of life and the overall art style is gorgeous. Bravo to all the staff involved in this one, they cooked. Dainanaoji is my pick for the surprise of the season. Expected a solid 6-7 show and came out much higher and with several new characters I love. The light novel will be getting read Dainanaoji gets 9 out of 10.
I just finished it and to be honest, I'm pretty sad that this anime turned out like this. I will keep it short (lol). Basically, I liked the basic idea of the story: I like reborn magical animes. The world and the magic system were also very well developed. But the fanservice...ruined it. I don't see how you can ignore the fact that Lloyd is physically ten years old and every female character is romantically/sexually attracted to him.Every episode has a scene like this and it ruins the whole thing so much.... I really liked the last few episodes (I just call it the Jadesaga lol), because the anime brought up a lot of interesting things there and it wasn't just about Lloyd being too epic for a child. If it was like this the rest of the parts would be much more enjoyable. 10/4 If you want to watch a fast trashy anime with action (and if you can stand very, very, VERY MUCH fanservice) then maybe it's worth a look.
TLDR: Generic reincarnation with stupid OP power. This is an isekai enough story where the MC is OP straight out of the vagina. With all his old memories and massive mana reserves, nobody is a challenge and solves everyone's problems. The end. Oh yeah, they make him as girly as possible. There is some ass and tits. You know when you're a kid and want McDonald's but mom says "we have McDonald's home"? This is what you get. Some hard bread with dollar store mince and ketchup. Technically it's a burger, you can eat and not hate it but it's just not as good.
If you're cool with getting put on a list, this will be an enjoyable watch. On the positive side, the animation is absolutely incredible. The animators took the approach of using chibi characters both for dramatic effect and to allow more time to draw fight scenes. This decision gives more of a "Saturday morning cartoon" feel than some might prefer, though it isn't terribly off-putting. On the flip side, fight scenes are beautiful, with special attention being given to the usage of magic in combat. On the negative, just about every woman in this anime has googly-eyes for the 10 year old MC. It's verysurprising that this anime hasn't received the Harem tag, given how often the MC ends up buried in the chest of some new or returning woman. Overall, it's like if Michael Bay and Jeffrey Epstein got together to redo High School DxD.
Tensei shitara is a surprising gem in the isekai genre. With a unique focus on magic and a protagonist who is solely dedicated to perfecting his magical abilities, the anime offers a fun and refreshing take. The magic aspects and fight scenes are exceptionally well done, showcasing creativity and engaging animation. Despite initial reservations, the series proves to be engaging with high-quality visuals and a well-executed plot. While there is some ecchi content, it is balanced with other elements to create an enjoyable viewing experience. Overall, this anime stands out for its entertainment value, strong character development, and captivating storytelling. 7/10
After finally being born into a position where he can study and experiment with magic as he sees fit, has the 7th prince reached a magic level beyond reason. In the show do we follow the 7th prince Lloyd, who was previously born as a commoner with very low magic ability. But in both his previous and current life, he is fixated on his magic studies and will do almost anything to gain more magical knowledge. We follow him on this quest of knowledge and attempts of keeping his true power a secret, which takes the plot in all kinds of directions. For the plot itself, isit very much based around what Lloid finds interesting in his search for magical knowledge. This often leads to scenes that show his strength, but also gives insight to different aspects of the world, since both the viewer and Lloyd are learning. The nuance in the plot often comes from the side characters in the show, where Lloyd either tries to help them or keeps his power a secret, which makes the story more interesting. Overall this makes it a classic power fantasy, but with the nuance of the main character wanting to learn. The characters are generally very straight forward, with few twists in them at this stage of the story. None of the characters are bad, since all of them show some sign of deeper character traits, but much of it is also something that can be expected. The progression of the characters is also very minimal, but the season also seems more focused on introducing characters. The thing that somewhat compensates for the lack of character progression is how we instead get to learn more about the characters current situation and background. This show is very much living up to being a fantasy adventure, where the main character is an overpowered sorcerer. They have a lot of the classic fantasy aspects and the adventure is shown through the quest of knowledge. Animation wise is it generally very well animated, with great attention to details in the magic, and also generally in the characters motion. They also have a good rhythm in switching between simplistic and detailed animation styles, depending on the situation. I would recommend this anime if you like a good fantasy adventure, and especially if you prefer an overpowered main character.
Looks beautiful. First this anime has some of the best fight scenes and the best character design in a long time. I love the art style and the humour! We can not ignore the MC and his attire won't lie not keen on the MC and his thicc thighs with how young he is however every other character is perfect. The fight scenes look amazing they are very well done every fight looks well polished and they're not rushed in any way the pacing of the anime is spot on. The relationships that are formed in this anime are very enjoyable to watch. The MC even hasa relationship with a demon There are alot of attempts at humour Which i enjoyed. Lots of Love fact the fact we get to see his full potential throughout the series and that he is crazy to learn new magic. The entire anime is character development this MC is building up so much knowledge this entire anime is literally the MC wanting more knowledge of magic and how to use it. The engagement between himself and other characters are always fun. Between the fights it is nice to see. Definitely gonna be rewatching this one! It was a blast
Dainana Ouji is a re-incarnation fantasy anime, with an OP protagonist, surprisingly good animation quality, and a heavy dose of shota love fanservice. Animation / Art / General Visuals - 9/10 ----------------------------------------------- While the base art style and detail isn't overly noteworthy, the show really shines with its complex action animations. The scenes have top notch setup, and fight choreography, dazzling not only with magical visual effects, but also physical combat. In addition, the show employs a large amount of cute chibi art scenes that augment its light tone, making it very cute and funny. Some of the chibi scenes are also really well animated, it's not just acheap tactic to pad the runtime with low quality animations. Sound / Music / Voice Acting - 8/10 ------------------------------------------ Solid across the board, but nothing overly noteworthy. Story - 7/10 ------------- The story is very straightforward and cliche, but done well. Our protagonist is a re-incarnated magical fanatic, who died because he was unlucky enough to be born as a peasant with no magical power, eventually being killed by royalty as a joke. After re-incarnating as a magic filled royalty himself, he begins his journey to master magic and all things related to it. And that's basically the gist of the story. He runs into the usual variety of "challenges" he overcomes with ease. It's a very common trope these days, with not a whole lot of depth, but it does the niche very well. The magic power system also has an unexpected amount of depth to it for such a short show with such a simple setup. On the side, the 10 year old cute boy protagonist is perpetually "assaulted" by an army of servant women who can't help themselves. While funny and cute, it really does make one think of the incredible double standard. A 10 year old boy being smothered in big badonkas in the woman's bath is made into a cutesy joke, where as a gender swap would get people riled up like crazy. Characters - 7/10 --------------------- The protagonist is quite one dimensional, but still very likeable. A nice person who is a complete magic otaku, wanting to spend his time on nothing but studying and practicing magic. He is overpowered to an obscene degree which is both funny and cool to watch. His otaku side is so strong, that occasionally he turns into an almost villain like persona in order to fully experience all the magic first hand. Side characters feature a well endowed maid who acts as his combat teacher and bodyguard, a couple of brothers who are impressed by his abilities, an adventurer who develops a crush, a few assassins with a change of heart, and a demon turned into a servant, who bit off more than he could chew, thinking he had a chance to beat our protagonist. All the characters are simple and one dimensional, but it works well, because that means there's less room for weird plot holes and inconsistencies. Everyone is just simple and likeable. --- Total - 8/10 --- Dainana Ouji is a surprisingly fun and entertaining fantasy anime that doesn't try to re-invent anything, instead taking a well known trope with cliches, and just executes it really well with high quality animations, and a cute chibi style on the side to lighten the mood.
I stumbled on this anime while looking for something with an "OP MC" just because I like to watch those to kill time. This was way more enjoyable than I thought it would be; they added some really cool effects to magic, and the fight scenes are very well made. As for the story, it's as generic as it can be. The MC is OP and doesn't want anyone to find out while he just likes to keep learning new magic and doing magic sh*t without actually being the center of things. It has some decent comedy, some funny moments, and it gives somewhat decent sidecharacters. What is kind of annoying is the fact that the MC is a 10-year-old femboy. They made him look like a little girl (and sometimes behave as one, even pose as one) while pretty much a harem of girls just wants to be with him. I'm surprised this doesn't have a harem tag, to be honest. There's also the fact that the MC pretty much overpowers everyone with physical strength as well, which, again, having a 10-year-old skinny femboy body is kind of weird and sometimes off-putting. Don't expect anything extra exciting, groundbreaking, or anything of the sort. Just a decent 12 episodes with some cool fights and magic effects.
I'll be real, and I doubt I'm the only one that feels this way, but this anime took me by surprise by a great margin in regards to my initial expectation. The character designs were probably the main reason I was put off at first (and you'll see that complaint on the internet many times, not just from me), but simply one episode later and I realized how interesting the premise of the show actually is. My favorite parts about the anime were definitely the characters and the comedy. The timing of the jokes were almost always home runs in my book, and the characterinteractions make me truly enjoy every second of the show. No boring episodes, great comedy, great characters, great fights...what more do you want? Also, the animation is very impressive, as the fight scenes come across so fluid instead of rigid and dull. The animation studio behind this really showed their skill on this one, I definitely recommend it.
I suggest giving this show a try for yourself before judging it. I was hesitant because of what other people's reviews said, but now I'm a little confused at how negative the general reaction to this show is when there are so many anime that are way, way, way worse yet praised and highly recommended. Don't get me wrong, the creep factor of scantily clad children who are lusted after by adults is absolutely there. I just expected a lot worse based on the reviews. No children are touched inappropriately and there is no romantic relationship development at all. Still gross, but tolerable for me.The OP-ness of the MC is fun, especially because he is only semi-aware of how big the gap is between his powers and the average person's in this universe. He is single-mindedly focused on deepening and widening his magical knowledge. I love an enthusiastic nerd! And there are lots of adorable fluffy animals and the demon even goes cute and begrudgingly caring. The fights are cool, the plot is interesting enough, and our MC wins the hearts and admiration of all he encounters. I also enjoyed a royal family where the siblings actually like and care about each other. It's an enjoyable show, but definitely with a squick factor.
This is a gem of a anime (it is borderline parody of magic fantasy harem animes) We have a Super Overpowered eccentric protagonist. He adventures, has fun and most importantly studies magic. You might be wondering then why give such high scores. Answer - The pace of this anime is amazing. They have 2 minutes kept entirely for chibi/fun. The rest of it is high paced intense story progression. There is humor, action, magic and for some reason unknown to mankind (harem element - though people are loving it a lot). Even side characters (so many) are given some backstory/depth.There are epic fight scenes. The animation is innovative, clever and top tier. It makes even a mundane scene of few seconds appear fun. The MC actually uses his past knowledge (isekai) to be better even as a kid. Instead of trying to start from scratch like an amoeba. They waste no time. No dragging on of plot. More happens in 2 episodes of this anime than would have happened in 12 episodes of an average isekai. No battles dragged on. No long expositions. The animation and detailing/gag humour is amazing. Action - 9/10 Humor - 8/10 Screenplay - 7/10 Pacing - 10/10 Animation - 10/10 PS - This is an OP kid isekai about magic. If it doesn't suit your taste, don't watch. What the description said is what you get. No point complaining.
It's a very good title. The main word to describe a lot of things in this title is juicy. Juicy visuals. Drawing is beautiful, lots of animation, there are very cool fly-throughs, a varied colour palette. The action sequences are beautiful. It's fun to watch. Juicy fan service for all tastes. Mylpha, sorry, Sylpha, the maid, the princess with fluffy animals, the shy girl with almost no clothes, and loli on top of that, Tao and her shorts... Mc-kun's special highlight is how to live without juicy shota... The abundance of steam is annoying at times. The plot is also juicy. A lot happens in 12 episodes. Thereisn't much connection between the events, but there is a narrative thread. The twists are interesting. There are often hints on them. The level of Deus ex machina in this title is low. This title is easy to watch. The episodes fly by. The characters are memorable. I am very much looking forward to the sequel. Side note. There are these... salons where you can... take a bath and wash yourself, just like mc-kun and his maids, juicy body against body. You don't have to be a shota. Just saying...
DainanaOji - A femboy Shota breaking the banks of the stereotypical Isekai/fantasy generic shtick of "so bad, it's good," and is it tasting better than it looks? I don't understand the power dynamics, but you'd be fair to call this a riot of insanity in good proportions. Season in, season out, Isekai/fantasy reincarnation stories are EVERYWHERE. Most are bland, some are good, and even a fair few are standouts for one reason or another. But one of those shows of the Spring 2024 season, really stood out for what sounds like nonsense, yet is still a quality work on its own, which, if you put thetwo together, should not have an executable combination. But yet, this show does, and does its magic quite tastefully so much that you'll be like the Black Guy with Question Mark meme dissecting why it just works. And that work is novelist Kenkyo na Circle's Tensei shitara Dainana Ouji Datta node, Kimama ni Majutsu wo Kiwamemasu a.k.a I Was Reincarnated as the 7th Prince so I Can Take My Time Perfecting My Magical Ability, a fantasy comedy so unbelievable that it has everyone shooketh on how bad (or great) it really is. You know the drill when it comes to shitty or trash Isekai when reincarnation is front and centre of its plot. In DainanaOji's case, it's about a sorcerer who has an insane thirst for magic, but that he cannot control it, making his obssession death's throes and a one-way ticket to hell. An unfortunate death and a reincarnation later, he is known as Lloyd de Saloum, the 7th prince of the Kingdom of Saloum. Every baby-to-kid growth spurt is the same for all, but Lloyd declares that he doesn't need money, fame, or women. Instead, since he still retains his memories as a failed sorcerer, and makes his new life the point that, as the title shows: I Was Reincarnated as the 7th Prince so I Can Take My Time Perfecting My Magical Ability". That's Lloyd's only goal in life: to study, practice, and master powerful magic, which, if you ask me, is a breath of fresh air amongst the stereotypical generic MC who is assigned as the hero character to do things way beyond his/her control...aside from how the anime actually adapted him very clearly as a femboy-looking Shota MC. Needless to say, Lloyd's satiating thirst for power leads him to one of the most powerful characters in the series: Grimoire, a demon sealed in a forbidden book who once drove Lloyd's kingdom to the brink of destruction. Its freedom secured from Lloyd may have been a blessing in disguise, but as he's soon to find out, the unfathomable levels of magic that Lloyd claims are too much and too great for the ancient-magic demon to defeat, so he surrenders to the Shota and makes himself as an adorable demon familiar under his servitude. Together, both Lloyd and Grimoire a.k.a its shortened name Grim set out to conquer the limitless magic of the world, not giving a heck care about everything around them...well, except if the Kingdom of Saloum is invaded by demons and the like, which they have to play by standard tropes to eliminate the big (and I mean humongous) threats. Joined by one of his close princely brothers of Albert, his close aide of maid Sylpha, who also serves as his training partner, and evenutally Tao, the martial artist girl who develops an adoration for him, Lloyd and Grim's adventure is to conquer and push the boundaries of power and strength, all for the sake of and in the name of beloved magic. As whack as this show wants to be, I'm all here for it because it doesn't take itself seriously, and balances out both its comedy and serious moments so seamlessly that it just feels natural to see such an overpowered MC done so right for all the right reasons, and I don't say this lightly for such a well-thought-out MC like Lloyd. What surprises me even more is the overall production of the show. Tsumugi Akita Animation Lab may be very new to the animation scene, having only one show under their belt: last season's rather over-convoluted Crunchyroll Originals of Meiji Gekken: 1874. But with DainanaOji, you wouldn't know that the rather small studio with hit-and-miss director Jin Tamamura, chief animation director Naru Nishikori, action director Yuuichi Abe, and series composer Naoki Tozuka, are actually very talented people when given the right show to work on, and it really shows all around the show. From the rather crisp blend of 2D and 3DCG (that's actually decent) to bombastic and explosive animation that puts all 3rd-rate studios to shame, I swear that I always blink and clean my eyes in disbelief that Tsumugi Akita Anime Lab actually pulled off an anime of THIS magnitude, not to mention it being great and consistent. The music is honestly, even better. VTuber Kaede Higuchi is rising through the ranks with Anisongs, and her OP song "Kyunrious" is such a banger song that I just could not have enough of, being so fitting to the series. The same could be said for Akane Kumada's ED, though I pretty much preferred the OP from the get-go (since I'm a big fan of her songs). The OST is good as well, colour me surprised. If this show manages to get a Season 2 (which it does), please stick with the same production team, because this trash Isekai/fantasy show (as I've said in the beginning) should not be good, but it did the seemingly impossible to unironically become one of the best and most enjoyable genre-breaking shows of the season, bar none. You can have your reasons why this show stinks, and the same goes for me, praising the same to no end. Stereotypical OP MC? Get out of my face. A femboy Shota MC who knows no fear of the impossible? Now that hits the sweet spot.
I had to come here and comment on this anime, because I thought the rating was very unfair. Honestly, it deserved a little more. Of course, if you want to compare it to other great works, this one will leave a little to be desired, but even so, it is far above other animes that people here gave better ratings. This is just another work with a generic story about a reincarnated person who is OP and does everything very easily and everyone likes it, but what makes it great, especially compared to current works (04/2025), is the very good comedy, the magic and action scenes arevery fluid and well animated, totally different from the crap we have seen in the current season and the previous one. (God protect us from what may come in the next ones). The final fight is very exciting, with incredible and very well-animated fight scenes, without the nonsense we've seen lately of fight scenes full of static frames and mediocre animations and designers (The Beginning After the End/The Slideshow After the End) or CGIs that would embarrass the team that made Max Steel. Anyway, I recommend watching it. Reposting to comply with MAL's usage policies, which states that you cannot write any comments that are not in English first... Because I can and have to take the trouble to translate posts from here even if they are from people whose mother tongue is Portuguese, but the "arrogant little princesses" who speak other languages cannot use Google Translate or an AI (as recommended to me by a MAL moderator) to translate what I wrote. Then some idiot comes along and deletes my post because I didn't put it in English either. Is this prejudice against other languages? There's your translation! Enfim Recomendo assistirem.
A 'distracted protagonist' isekai that balances the character's power with a genuine disinterest in fighting, being much more interested in magic itself as a subject as a supreme spell caster with an unusual amount of mana, not unlike the genius 'gunpla' protagonist of "Knight's & Magic", who's main passion is creating medieval mechs. While the formula of isekai is wearing thin and there really isn't much point to this being a reincarnation story, the show itself is entertaining and has impressive fight scenes as well as decent humor and a bit of fun fan service. The show lags towards the end and abuses exposition and distractions fromthe main content, instead of spending its time more wisely which knocks this down from a 10 to an 8 (being the fun I had, not meant as an objective score).
Tensei shitara Dainana Ouji Datta node, Kimama ni Majutsu wo Kiwamemasu was a fun trash isekai to indulge in. It lacks depth, it doesn't do a good job at character development or provide screen time for some of the great characters in the show. This is just peak trash isekai, and that's okay. Animation 8/10 - Really nice color palette, with solid fight animations, magic animations etc. Sound 8/10 - Good OP/ED, good sound FX, good VA. Story 2/10 - The anime departs from its introductory scene completely, which doesn't bother me, but I can't in good faith say it has a good plot. Characters 6/10 -I love its cast, but unfortunately, I felt like they are sidelined too often, I would have loved seeing more Tao and Sylpha, and especially both of them together, as they have good chemistry. Enjoyment 8/10 - As trash as it is, I loved it. I can highly recommend this to isekai fiends.
Surprisingly entertaining and right up my alley! This anime has everything I love—an overpowered main character and a story where it’s just smooth sailing! If you enjoy watching a protagonist who can easily overcome any challenge thrown their way, this show definitely satisfies that itch. The plot itself isn’t groundbreaking, but it doesn’t need to be, especially if you’re into the classic OP protagonist trope. While some parts are a bit predictable, they’re still fun if you love this genre. While the protagonist is super likable for fans of OP characters, I did feel that some side characters could use a bit more depth to makethem stand out. The main character is unusually powerful and smart, and while it’s part of the fun, it can make the story feel one-sided at times. There aren’t many moments where you feel like the stakes are high, which makes it easy but occasionally a bit slow to watch. It’s not a 10/10 because I found myself taking a few breaks while watching; some parts dragged on a bit and got repetitive.
Never change, Japan. This is a story about a man who loves magic. Unfortunately in his last life he was but a peasant with no aptitude for magic and was put to death on the whim of a powerful mage whose magic was so fantastic to our protagonist that his last thoughts were of how incredible it is and how he wished he could do the same. This tragic end may have made some divine entity sorry for him and so they decided to reincarnate him, as the seventh prince who has unparalleled talent for magic. In short, he is OP now. The protagonist is 10 yearsof age at the time of the story. He has very feminine characteristics and is surrounded by older attractive women who are all in love with him. At times you could swear that you're watching shota p*rn. It's very Japan, and I love how weird it is. As for the story, there isn't really much of it. Most of the run of the Anime is taken by our protagonist hiding his powers as not to attract attention so that he can be left alone to his study of magic. When he does need to use his powers he obviously wins without an effort. It's all very predictable and silly, but also rather entertaining. It made me laugh more than I would have expected. In the last few episodes the story takes a serious-ish turn which doesn't really fit into the whole thing but I guess the anime needed a big finish even though ironically the main character takes the back seat. All in all it's just dumb fun. Don't think about it too much. 7/10
