The story had potential—it’s unique and not entirely predictable. But that’s where the positives end. The execution is poor, and there’s virtually no story build-up. Events just happen without proper pacing or explanation, making it hard to stay engaged. The characters are one-dimensional and lack any real development. There’s no emotional depth, no realistic reactions, and absolutely no growth. They felt more like placeholders than people. The only saving grace is the animation. Visually, it's smooth and polished. The action scenes are well-done and enjoyable to watch, but they can’t carry the entire show on their own. Good animation means nothing if the story and characters fallflat. Overall, it’s a disappointing experience. If you care about story or character development, you’ll likely walk away frustrated. The action is the only reason to check this out, but even that isn’t enough to make up for the weak writing. Ratings: Starting: 8/10 Story: 5/10 Story Build-up: 1/10 Character Build-up: 1/10 Animation: 9/10 Action: 9/10
The anime actually starts quite strong. The characters although generic seem quite likable, and plot's easy to follow. The few starting episodes are very well-animated and the action sequences are quite a sight to behold. But somehow the anime fumbles the story afterwards. The story is suddenly ripped apart from the main story to a side story that's very in-cohesive and incoherent at times. The power scaling completely falls apart. Every new "enemy" that gets introduced completely lacks character and just feels bland. Even the side characters completely fall flat compared to the first parts of the anime. All in all, it's an enjoyable anime ifyou temper your expectations.
Super Cube is an exciting blend of sci-fi, mystery, and action that immediately pulls you into its futuristic setting. The core idea — revolving around mysterious alien cubes granting supernatural powers — is both unique and intriguing. From the very beginning, the anime sets a serious tone with high-stakes tension and keeps it up with well-executed action sequences and smooth animation. The fight scenes especially stand out — dynamic, intense, and visually stunning 😍. The main protagonist’s transformation and evolution, after encountering the mysterious cube, adds a compelling layer to the narrative. The powers, world-building, and the idea of something as small as a cube changingthe fate of an individual (or humanity) felt fresh and engaging. That said, the biggest drawback is the pacing. With only 12 episodes and a relatively short runtime, the story felt a bit rushed in places. It barely scratched the surface of its full potential — the plot developments were interesting, but there wasn’t enough time to dive deep into the characters’ backstories or explore the world as fully as it deserved. It definitely felt like the series needed more episodes to breathe and flesh things out. Still, The concept is strong, the visuals are top-notch, and it leaves you wanting more. I truly hope it gets a second season or a continuation to explore its universe further.
For what’s basically a Chinese knockoff of Solo Leveling, this anime is actually pretty enjoyable it went by fast. The animation was a big surprise at the start too. If they had a bit more budget and a bigger animation team, it could honestly be better than Solo Leveling, 'cause they’ve got some really cool ideas for the fights. Story-wise, it’s not that different either full focus on the MC’s progression and definitely dynamic enough to keep viewers from getting bored. Overall, a solid anime especially in a season full of ecchi trash aimed at horny dumb teenagers. Also, the blue haired girl TOP
Personal stats: as of May 2025, I've finished 165 anime with a mean score of 7.32. The Super Cube rating: 7/10. The Super Cube is a solid Chinese anime with great potential. While it’s not very popular—possibly due to being a donghua—it’s still an enjoyable watch. The art style and fight choreography are impressive in several scenes, and the plot is interesting, though the pacing can feel slow at times. With only about 15 minutes of actual content per 20-minute episode, it sometimes feels like not much happens. That said, the pacing improves later on. I appreciated how the show stays focused—no unnecessary comedy or fanservice, justa serious storyline from start to finish. It’s a fun 12-episode binge, and I’d definitely like to see a second season to see where the story goes next.
I heard that some bloggers compare this anime to "Ore dake Level Up na Ken". So the only similarity is that in both stories the main character gets a system. Honestly: in my opinion, this title is weaker and it's not about PR. Nevertheless, the plot is not bad, even if it is not something complicated. The anime immediately attracts attention with its stylish and detailed drawing. The frames look bright, the characters are drawn. The catchy plot is fast, exciting pace. The events are lively, the action is good, the animation in dynamic scenes pleases the eye, even if there are a lot of standardmoves like getting a system, the main character playing a hero and some other things. The main characters, unfortunately, look a little template: an ideal couple in love, I would like some depth and development of their relationship, because of this the emotional involvement of the viewer suffers. Overall, Chao Neng Lifang: Chaofan Pian is an easy on the eyes anime that is suitable for light viewing.
