When it comes to Chinese donghua, or even Korean manhwas being adapted into Japanese anime, I'm not a consistent fan whatsoever; because for me, they can either be GREAT hits (Link Click, Solo Leveling, etc.) or HARD misses (Noblesse, King's Avatar, etc.). But this anime is easily a great hit. Imagine a world that encapsulates the essence of Chinese culture, while also granting you a fun twist of Pokemon-type brawls and team-based fights. That is essentially what this story is about, as the purpose of the story is based on the progression of the main character's team, which comes from proving their skills as pettrainers. From the first episode, it won't take long for you to feel completely immersed into the world that this anime presents. Of course, one thing to also mention is how insanely good the animation quality is. This is coming from the same studio that produced The Super Cube, and they didn't hold back when it came to animating this show as well. The fight scenes are CRISP, and the music very much adds to the intensity and feel that the showrunners wished for the audience to attain. All in all, I have nothing but praise for this anime, and I seriously hope they announce a season 2 ASAP.
