The story centers on a manager named Odakara Kazuhiko who has spent all 33 years of his life without a girlfriend. An encounter with a new employee named Harada makes Odakara realize that he is gay.

Kachou no Koi... it's unashamed, inappropriate, crass, disgusting and full of stereotypes. But it also happens to be absolutely hilarious. From the get go you realize that this is nothing more than a shallow and (forgive the poor choice of words) ballsy, little OVA. Story: The story is not a factor in this anime. The story is there mostly to facilitate punchlines and set up hilarious situations. It goes through the motions for your average BL, but with the over the top, sexually explicit and unrelenting humor, the lack of any real originality story-wise becomes perfectly acceptable. 7/10 Art: For it's obvious low budget the art surprised me. Refusingto let their limitations show, the animation was done in a very clever way. Going for a comic book feel with special fx written as text on the screen as well really added a unique and creative feel to it. The characters expressions were pretty well drawn and sometimes hilarious. 8/10 Sound: Let's cut to the chase. The sound... was amazing on every front. The seiyuu were phenomenal. Their timing really did the humor justice, as they struck my funny bone at the perfect time to maximize the comedic power of each and every joke. The music was perfectly gaudy that ranged from sensual to ridiculous, but never in the wrong way. Come on "Hallelujah"? That track has never been better used than in this. The sound, despite the obvious budgetary limitations, was fantastic. 9/10 Characters: Despite all being obvious caricatures of people in the gay community, the writers didn't let that be all they were. They were hilarious without being offensive with the intent to negatively portray gay people. The characters were mostly shallow, but purposefully so. The brilliance behind doing this is that, due to the short runtime, you don't run the risk of trying to rush character development or try shoving too much info into the OVA. Forgoing this problem by creating likable, easily identifiable characters based on stereotypes is just brilliant work and I applaud the creators. 8/10 Overall: Going in I wasn't expecting much. I figured that this would be a smutty, self-indulgent, trashy BL OVA, but what I got was a, yes smutty, but hilariously well done OVA that wasn't afraid to "go there" and push a few buttons. This OVA is a real treat to watch and I definitely suggest you take the time. 8/10
Ah, I love this anime. It's so bad it's good. I think that's the best way to describe it. If you're new to yaoi, I would suggest watching more titles before giving this a try, but for the tried and true, it's perfect. This little oneshot is one gigantic gay joke after another. It deliberately takes a jab at stereotypical yaoi anime by making fun of it at every turn. It's shallow, it's sickeningly predictable, and it's absolutely hilarious because of it. You'll understand if you watch it (which you should). This one is well worth watching.
Honestly, you should miss this one out if you don't want to waste half an hour. There isn't much of a story line and the characters are bland and difficult to connect with. This is probably because there is only a single episode, and I would have liked to see what more episodes would accomplish. For me, the animation was good quality, but I didn't like the style of it as it is not as fluid as other anime. The only redeeming quality was Chappie the squirrel, which added a somewhat refreshing comedic tone to the otherwise dull and predictable anime.
I'm a big fan of yaois so I told myself ' why not try this one ? ' and omgggggg i think I've never laughed that hard ! Even if it's a low quality anime, i really had a great time watching it. I liked the plot, i mean it's not original but for me it was quite well written. You can see that some dialogues are completely wtf but that's what makes the anime soooo hilarious! All of the characters were useful and damn I totally wasn't prepared for the seiyuus (wtf are Eiji from banana fish and Levi from snk doing here ?? lmao) If youreally don't know what to watch, just go for it and prepare yourself to have the biggest laughter ever. (even non-yaoi fan can enjoy it!!)
