Rance 01: Hikari wo Motomete The Animation is the greatest... masterpiece I've ever seen. This god-tier anime is high quality story up there with the likes of Jojo's, Cowboy Bebop, Monster, I might even say it surpasses all of them easily. The characters are very developed and filled with 𝐃𝐄𝐄𝐏 backstories, while the sound design just 𝐎𝐎𝐙𝐄𝐒 with quality. But I think the high point of the show would really be the quality """𝐏𝐋𝐎𝐓""" It really outshines every other show on the market right now. My enjoyment with the show was mainly due to the 𝐂𝐋𝐈𝐌𝐀𝐗 which was perfectly portrayed and shot with a nice𝐇𝐀𝐑𝐃 and creative camera angle. Overall, I think Rance 01: Hikari wo Motomete The Animation is just a true example of how anime is not dead and this is the resurrection as visual media as a whole.

Rance is easily the greatest hentai of all time. It is even better than a lot of mainstream anime. It has become my favourite hentai & I will recommend it to anybody who is a man of culture. It has the one of the best animation for a hentai that I've watched so far. There were some flaws but it is still pretty amazing. It is one of the few hentai I've watched that has a great plot. The story was so great & I enjoyed it so much that I wanted it to continue for two or three more OVA series with our favourite MC Rance goingfor more quests and banging many many girls along the way.
The voice acting is also great, those moans & screams really got buried in my mind.
The characters were my favourite because of their development throughout the story. For example how Rance's character changed from a "perverted rapist" to a "rapist of justice" & how he managed to build peace & harmony in the city by f*cking the evil-loli queen senseless. He really is a great MC for a hentai.
I enjoyed this hentai more than anything I've watched so far. Sometimes I laughed so hard that tears came out of my eyes, sometimes I was rooting for the MC to win & sometimes got a boner that just wouldn't go away.
Really worth my time.

Rance 01 : Hikari wo Motomete The Animation, is a HENTAI, so here it goes~ -Story : this one is one of few hentai i've watched with some stories bound into it. The story revolves around our MC, Rance, in his quest to find Hikari. Pretty mediocore if i may say, but Rance 01 executed the story really well, really better than i expected. From ep 1 to the end they kept me interested and entertained no matter how stupid it may sound. But yeah, who watch hentai for stories ? - Art : the colors and animation are awesomely drawn. I guess there are some flawswhen the "scene" occurs, like badly-shaped character. But they're kinda minor so it's still good.
- Sound : i really love the sound department, because the voice-act is in place, and the Queen's and Sill's sound, cute!
- Character : the characters, even tho are kinda dull, but given that this is a hentai, they're good. Rance, for example, is your usual-MC-lust-driven-but-somehow-is-really-good-at-fighting. But how rance talk and act is kinda funny. And there are scenes when Rance hit Sill's head (lightly) which are fun to watch, kept me entertained the whole time.
- Enjoyment : no matter what i said in previous departments, Rance 01 is still a hentai afterall. The enjoyments depends on the "scenes". There are 1-3 "scenes" per episode, and kinda short (There are some BDSM stuff too, just a little). Fair enough.
Verdict : if you're bored with those hentai that just full of "scenes", go give Rance 01 a chance!

I just had to review this This is the first time I've watched an Hentai, and I must say that it was a weird experience, it wasn't really my cup of tea. But, however, for some reason I actually enjoyed it. The plot was not as bad as I thought it would be. Rance 01 is like like any other action/fantasy series out there. - A hungry hero showing absolute fulFILLment to his assigned mission (with girls along the way) that keeps fighting for justice. LOL. I mean, haven't we all watched a series just like that before? I won't be watching something like thisever again not that I regret that I did. It had me laugh a few times because it was so stupid. And it's not bad to widen your perspective on things sometimes, right?

I don't know but after rewatching this hentai for like 4,5 times i just felt urge to write review to this. Story: Now story is about Rance that is doing quest, and punishing girls with wild sex through story. As the story develops there is cuter and cuter characters, final boss is queen :p 9/10 Art: Art was great but there were some scenes that maded me think what the f*ck. Example scene is when in the middle of thing he start kissing fast af and it doesn't hit with the sound so it was like nonsense. 9/10 Sound: Didn't really heard any music cause i was sointro it. Voice acting is good. 8/10
Character: Now i will describe them as cute girl that are acting pure, but when Rance ,, the dirty dog '' gets them they turn naughty.As i said queen isn't final boss without reason :p 9/10
Enjoyment: I really enjoyed this every time i saw it, without a doubt. 10/10
Overall: This is without a doubt one of the best hentai's you could find out there and it have 4 episodes so you can enjoy more and more. 8/10

A whole 21 years later and Rance fans get another adaptation of their favorite open world fantasy wank material. Just in time for the people who were born in the same year that the original was released in to start drinking. Rance 01: The Quest for Hikari (Rance 01: Hikari wo Motomete The Animation) begins begins with Rance and Sill arriving in the majestic Kingdom of Leazas to find a missing noble girl. As they split up to investigate several leads, Rance finds himself aiding the townsfolk with various problems from rescuing a kidnapped barmaid to purging an undead outbreak. While amassing both fortune and females,the warrior eventually uncovers a dark secret within the kingdom that only he can stand against.
And continuing the tone that the first one had, the series begins with a scene where Rance rapes a woman multiple times before saving her, all while claiming that she was raped by a group of bandits, all because she was blindfolded. So if you're not into black comedy and slapstick, turn back now.
Just like the first, The Quest for Hikari makes a ton of jokes about how it's based on a series of RPG games, referencing the overhead perspective that so many 8-bit and 16-bit JRPGs had at the time for the anime's transitions as Rance makes his way around town asking people about the girl that he's looking for. Since the animation in most hentai aren't that appealing, it's neat not only getting decent animation, but some neat visual variety to go with the good animation.
The biggest difference between this and the last OVA is that the new series has 4 episodes and a special, which range from 26 to 30 minutes each, so there is quite a bit of content here. And because of the added content, every episode has at least 1 to 2 sex scenes each, and they're all good. So if you're looking for a hentai with some plot, The Quest for Hikari is right up there in terms of enjoyable plot.
The series even comes with some monster rape towards the end of the series, so if you're into that, it's got you covered.
The series is actually pretty well animated for a hentai, which is a rarity these days, considering that Queen Bee seems to intend to make hentai so poorly that a slideshow of the original source material would be an upgrade, so the good animation is very much appreciated here. You're bound to find something appealing in at least one or two of the sex scenes.
And coincidentally, or possibly intentionally as an homage to the original OVA, the first episode of this adaptation of Rance came out on December 26th, so it's another White Christmas! There are only so many times I get to make a White Christmas pun in my hentai reviews, so I'm going to revel in it.

So Rance-sama huh ?, Rance 01 is first hentai series i finished and also the first series that pull me to eroge scene too (Sorry if it's kinda off topic). At first i don't think this series will be animated but it's already there back in 90s but this time we got the remake ova, did it good or did it flaw ? Let's find out ! Story : Rance the powerfull and brave adventurer that been given task by his guild master to rescue a girl in the city of leazas, and so Rance and his slave Sill embark on the adventure to find themissing girl.
It's kinda typical adventure about rescuing someone missing and they have to find it fast, the story is there for but don't expect anything top notch.

Art : Rance and other cast is drawn beautifully and well done, i personally love the redisgn here. Even though the art is good the background filler all of it doesn't get animated just few some of them get animated either way it's not that athmosphere breaker some sort of but it's okay i guess ?.

I'm a die hard fan of this series and will love literally anything that comes from it. Because of that, I don't think there's an anime I will be more biased towards than this. But I love it either way. There are so many great in-jokes and references for fans and it's adapted very well from the game itself. Nearly all of the major plot elements are here. It would have been nice if Miki and/or British showed up, but I'm content with seeing Rick and Shizuka in the opening of each episode. I don't often rewatch anime, but I've rewatched this who knows howmany times and still love it to death.

REVIEW MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS! This has got to be one of the best hentai anime I've ever seen. The story revolves around the strongest (self-proclaimed) hero, Rance, travelling with her slave, Sill. They were tasked to find a missing person, Hikari. As his quest to find Hikari goes on and on, Rance finds himself in 'tight' situations most of the time. STORY: 10/10 Rance: The Search for Hikari is one of the few hentai's that actually has a plot. Aside from the sex scenes, it is quite enjoyable if I do say so myself. I would've liked it if Rance retained his harem, though, but whatever. ART: 8/10 What canI say? The movements of the characters seems pretty solid to me. Seven did a pretty good job in animating the characters.
SOUND: 8/10
There's not really much into the sound, apart from the 'erotic' OST you can hear during the sex scenes. I also loved the music that played when Rance fought Yulang in the coliseum.
CHARACTER: 9/10
As the series progresses, we get to know the main character of the series -- Rance. He's intelligent, cunning, strong, and most of all -- someone who has an unusual sex drive and forces himself into many women. But most of all, even if he is really into sex, he isn't that stupid to accept an offer just to rape some kidnapped women, which I admired given that he is very perverted and I actually thought he would take the offer.
ENJOYMENT: 10/10
Throughout the series, I fucking laughed my ass off. It was a VERY great series and each episode didn't bore me at all.
OVERALL: 9/10
If you are looking for a hentai that has a straightforward plot, then Rance: The Quest for Hikari is the hentai for you. Trust me, you won't be disappointed by this series.

"PC 9801VM, 2HD disk, 4MB RAM, MSX, X6–" Story: Anime adaptation of the first game in the Rance series. Rance gets hired to find about a girl's whereabouts. He starts to work on his case while getting laid with as many girls as he can along the way. It gets a tinsy bitty dark(ish) towards the end, but there's not much focus on it and hey, it wouldn't be Rance without it. Art: This is where this hentai really shines. They really did hit the nail on the head by going with studio Seven, it's like they were made for one another. Everything looks very good andstylish while the more comedic absurd scenes get 1000x times better with their animation.
Sound: The voices are all very good. Sound effects I felt that were a just a little bit lacking/low sometimes. Soundtrack sounded kind of bland in the sex scenes, with some of them even being just plain quiet. Great endings though, especially the last one.
Character: Loved all the characters. While I don't need to explain all my love for Rance and Sill again, all the girls really shine in this by being both very sexy and cute.
Enjoyment: Each episode felt fullfilling and fast-paced, developing the story while also having just the right amount of action. All the scenes looked great and the vanilla/cuteness amount in some of them were off the freaking charts (yes I'm looking at you two, Yulang and Menad). Last but not least, the lovely post-credits scene was the cherry on the cake.
Overall: One of the best hentai out there and probably the best adaptation I've ever seen, with lots of references and sometimes even going as far as taking things from the game too literally and making fun of it. Masterpiece.
