If you haven't seen the first part of Opantsu, you should definitely watch it first before continuing with this sequel. Because to process all of this, you have to seen the whole thing. The title in English (at least in contrast to the Japanese title we understand it all) says it all: "I Want You To Make a Disgusted Face and Show Me Your Underwear 2". With a 200 IQ you can perhaps think about what this short anime is about. CORRECT! You can see the underwear of different women (don't worry almost all of them are over 18) and during that they make a disgustedface and look down at you as you were the last scum (which is of course true). Why does it look so real? Because it's in the POV perspective. You can see the underpants from the perspective of the MC, as he also sees it. STORY: Regarding the story, I mentioned above that this is very complicated to understand and therefore you have to have seen the first part. That's not entirely true ... the six small episodes, each with a little bit more than 4 minutes, have nothing to do with each other. There is no connection between them. Every time there is a new location and a new lady who has a different job. No matter whether saleswoman, nuns or even your own sister, we always want to see their underpants. So you can theoretically start with the last episode and you wouldn't notice a difference. Every time you see the panties from the perspective of another MC (or even the same MC ?! Who knows ... after all, you only see the woman, not the cultured man himself). ART: Fascinating, new, revolutionary. The panties can be seen like they were real. And the faces of women are almost creepier than real ones (just kidding, real 3D one's cannot be surpassed). The facial expressions look perfect. First the nice smile of a woman and then this submissive look. Like in real life, when you get shit on by your mother, if you don't put your laundry in the laundry basket. The same look. SOUND: The ending sound on each episode is so good that you forget it immediately afterwards. There is no text. You feel like it's good old department store music. No difference. ENJOYMENT: Definitely the most important by far. I only came up with Opantsu because someone recommended it to me since I am a fan of "One Room". When I saw the first part, I just thought: "What's wrong with all the people who like this???" But little by little with the time and the now finished second part, I realized why it is a masterpiece. To be honest, I can't really explain it and there is certainly no rational explanation for it. You just have to take this step yourself and be cultured enough. I mean you can see panties. That alone is a big plus. It is up to you whether you are a fan of the derogatory look. To be honest, I'm usually not, but there are always exceptions, as is well known. In summary, you can see seven (!!! NO NOT ONLY SIX, although there are only six episodes) panties. And you see the disgusted faces of women. What more do you want??? The only question you have to ask yourself is: When season 3???
Ah, Japan, you truly know what we long for don't you? After experiencing the first season and awakening a brand new fetish you couldn't believe how happy I was when they anounced a second season for this series, after just over a year long grueling wait it's finally here and I now get to spend the end of the decade in the best way imaginable. Okay so lets get into it, firstly there are characters from the first season in this so watch it first. Now as a continuation to one of the most legendary series of all time it's hard to believe it could actuallylive up to season 1 but boy does it live up to it. The girls in this season are just as disgusted by you as the girls in the previous season, if not more so and the MC acts even more degenerate than in the first season! The story and appeal of this show is pretty simple, this is a first person series where we view the show from the MC's point of view and they interact with different girls every episode with the intention of trying to get them to show their underwear. They clearly talk to the girls but you don't actually hear any words, rather you get to figure it out yourself from the girls repeating some key words and from their reactions. Now I'm sure this would make you think that this is an anime for highly intellectual people but fear not, you should still be able to enjoy the show without being gifted with overwhelming intellect. Each episode starts out with the MC being on very good terms with the girl and then when they see their chance they change the conversation in a direction that will make the girl end up showing off their underwear. The girls quickly change their mood and starts looking at the MC in disgust while starting to expose their underwear. The best part about this is that since this is a first person series you get the be in the shoes of the MC and it's as if it's you the girls looks down at in disgust as if you we're the most disgusting person on the planet while exposing their underwear to you. So in short this series is about self inserting as a slimebag and have girls look at you in disgust and showing you their underwear, it might not be for everyone but it's definitly for me. Unlike last season we do get to see the MC's arms this time when they're reaching for stuff, it's up to you to decide if you like this change or not.
I see some people here feeling disgusted by the MC and their antics. This is totally justified, as the pretext is well hidden and isn't very explored in the anime. If you read the author notes, you'll see that the MC is actually under a curse: He MUST ask to see the panties of every woman he meets and interacts on an emotional level. That explains why he goes out of his way to ask this even to girls that clearly show interest in him. He can't go further. He has to ask them or they will be under danger. That is the curse bestowed uponhim. You may have noticed that the anime is filmed from the MC POV. Other "questionable" animes draw the MC with hair occluding their eyes. Then why? Is it to gain immersion? Well, this is again to hide the emotions the MC shows. For example, at the beginning of episode 5 the girl says the MC is not paying attention. He has a distant look, because he is thinking about what's going to happen now. It's out of his control. He has to ask her, and he will probably lose his relationship with her over this. His dearest childhood friend. But he has already made up his mind. He has to protect her. And so he does the deed. This anime is very sad when you realize the hidden reasons behind the MC actions. It makes me feel sorry for him. At the last chapter he almost got his redemption, but it was futile in the end.
i do not feel the necessity to talk about the visuals or the sound aspects of the anime because if you come to this piece of magnificent art thinking about such mondane things you truly have missed the whole point, this anime is about the many ways of thinking and perceiving this blue ball we call earth,i am going to give my 2 cents on the matter because this piece has truly touched me in ways i cannot beggin to explain, this ladies and gentleman this might just be what was in the briefcase of pulp fiction ,now i can understand john travolta plainly. i personally believe thatthe main objective of this anime is to give god a big Fuck you ,for all these characters do is stain god's greatest creation, with deceit, manipulation but never lies as that is the greatest sin,and this might be a reach but i can only assume they want a fair battle with god.this work of art reminds us to never judge a book by it's cover as all the ladies in the anime always make assumptions of the protagonist thinking of him as their own romantic fantasy ,but they ultimately fail to understand that he is only human and is not at fault for striving for his own path far from judgement, also the genius idea of not having the protagonists talk is a breath of fresh air as the writer obviously wanted us to fill those empty dialogues with our own life perspective.the protagonists also seem to sacrifice their own life, always living with this wheight of treating every woman with utmost respect and kindness, their flawless public facade masked private corruption, they become a shell of themselves, risk a life of eternal damnation and, assumingly eradicate all other memories off of their minds, all for a glimpse of the divine. you can see that in every episode the male characters are already at the doorway of the female's heart but they sacrifice the possibility of an almost guaranteed relationship for a swift gratification, and although i am yet to ,in this fatous existence of mine comprehend such pretigeous behaveour i can at least respect it,because as socrates famously said "let us sacrifice our today so that our children can have a better tomorrow". I self-admittedly will never come close to comprehend the true meaning of this magnum opus, but i can sleep sound at night knowing i have witnessed something beautifull, women's panties with a disgusted face.
I am really surprised to see how they improved something great. I don't know how they managed it but artwork looks better than season 1. Dialog type and Camera angels remain the same because I believe its already perfect. Its like Arthur Rimbaud not quitting but "finishing" poetry because of no higher level to achieve in that branch. In this season we saw one of the best character development in all animes. I hope there will be a third season to see even more development. Every single episode was exciting and unpredictable. It has amazing emotion-transferring techniques that can cause many viewers to cry. Itwas short but extremely intense. Its a real masterpiece AGAIN.
