A decade ago, princess Krystal Novaty “Hime” Nokanatika traveled from another world to escape assassination attempts by an evil force. When she arrives in modern-day Japan, she encounters Haruto Satou. With him she shares a promise: he must forget what he has just witnessed, and the two will become friends. Now heading back to the Nokanatika Kingdom to fulfill her royal duties, Hime bids farewell to Haruto. However, when the young man suddenly remembers his first meeting with Hime, he rushes to the location where she first appeared and crosses the dimensional portal to be reunited with her.
His arrival disrupts the marriage ceremony between Krystal and prince Marmarugias Gisaras. The wedding is brutally interrupted by the attack of an abyss monster who threatens the princess' life. Acting impulsively, Hime decides to exchange rings with Haruto, which grants her new husband light powers that permit him to slay the monster. This anime isn't a good ecchi one. (Tl;Dr at the bottom) My reference for ecchi animes are: yosuga no sora, kiss x sis (the ova one) and most recently gushing over magical girls (which is a really good anime if you don't mind seeing some uncensored boobs) [Ecchi: 4/10] I know ranking ecchi is somewhat strange, but if you will be watching this anime, probably you'd be expecting something good in this topic, well ecchi is highly relative, if you are new to it you'd be probably shocked by seing boobs without censor, and thinking how could this not be a hentai? But there are far more animesthat go much far than that, with this said, if you are expecting something more than boobs appearing, then sadly this is not the one for you.

The romance doesn't fall behind, it can be as bad as it gets, in this anime is that typical thing of the characters blushing for everything, principally the MC and his principal love interest Hime, but it's not the cute and lovely way it's the annoying and irritant one, like for example: every single time something happen between him and a girl like a kiss he just goes: "i'm not used to it yet" even though is the bazzilionth time he does it and as you would expect this really don't fits an harem anime.

I swear i'm not just hating this anime but the caracters are just as plain as they can be, like the only really background and development that we get is in their "arc". In the anime each girl has her mini arc of 2 episodes, by the tenth episode the mc already did get all 5 of them leaving 2 episodes of them all together, outside of their respective arc they don't get any more development, for example, there is an reclusive elf girl that wants to discover the world but don't go because she made a promise, in the end of her arc the mc manage to get her to go on with him, you may think she would be baffled with everything she sees out there or scared of the people and this really happens but for like 2 episodes after her arc ends, the rest she just goes on with her life as if nothing really happened.

I typicaly don't do a "[]" just to write down about the MC but i was incredulous, how can someone make a harem anime that goes against all things a harem anime needs?
The mc gets embarassed to everything related to "girl" he just can't interact with a girl without getting sheepish, in okay with that but it's not in an normal level, it gets to a point that is annoying, in the first meeting the girl is normal and okay to get embarassed, but not every single time to every minusculous thing, and to add in top of that this anime is like the dogshit series where every time they will do the deed something happens, there are two times that they get to the moment but the mc just says "not yet, i want a climate first" even thought the girl is totally down for it, bro if it was me the girl wouldn't be able to walk for a fricking week, if you're expecting this one to has some action (if you know what i mean) you will be disapointed.
And for the feats of the protagonist he hasn't so much in his side, there are moments he does something but aren't many and he never takes initiative in the romance aspect.

To be honest i was really hyped by this anime, i thought it would be a good one but unfortunatelly i was wrong, if you're looking for a good anime on the genres i cited even thought it is disrespecting with this anime i will be making a little list here because this obviously isn't the one.

Harem: 100 girlfriends, Campione, Quintessential quintuplets, The testament of sister new devil, Saekano, Kanojo mo Kanojo, Date a live, Cafe terrace and its goddesses.
Romance: Horimiya, SAO, Sakura Trick, Citrus, Yagate kimi ni naru, The angel next door spoils me rotten, Romantic killer.
Tl;Dr: This anime manages to fail in every aspect of it, the biggest mistake i think, is it being a harem because everything goes against it in this anime.
Being kindhearted i decided to give it four out of ten.

Oh, what can the world do without an ecchi like Tale of Wedding Rings these days? I probably had to check several times on various sources when this got announced for an anime adpatation. Why? That's because it felt like we already got the announcement years ago. Yet here we are with a 12-episode adaptation announced just last year and making its debut on the TV screen. And unfortunately, it should've probably remained better off of it. Now here's a head up. Tales of Wedding Rings is exactly what it looks like from its premise, promos, character designs, and even genre tags. It's not trying tohide what it sells and from the first episode, you're going to get thrown with fan service to the face along with the most one dimensional character roster this year so far in 2024. If you just want a guilty pleasure show with minimial creativity and storytelling, then read on further.
When you have a beautiful girl giving you a ring, this signifies the start of a romance. Tales of Wedding Rings essentially begins with Hime giving her childhood friend Satou a ring. However, that ring isn't a symbol of love but instead a weapon used to defeat demons. It takes less than two episodes to show that Hime has feelings towards Satou but it doesn't end there. For you see, there are other rings in the show, and Satou seems destined to obtain them like a hero. Thus, we have a tale of wedding rings because Satou has to marry the princesses who carries those rings.
Tale of Wedding Rings doesn't carry a feeling of mystery unlike his other previous adapted work, Dusk Maiden of Amnesia. Hardly in fact. This is treated as a rom-com fantasy with harem themes just the tags indicates. It desires to be a romantic fantasy but the execution is poorly done. The main reason revolves around the dull protagonist Satou who seems to just go along with being a hero. It's like he's acting on a script of a play and building off of what he's told. Outside of Hime, he manages to attract the attention of other princesses including Granart, Nefritis, Saphir, and Amber. All of them has a ring of different element and comes from different lands. Being a 12-episode series, you can guess that the characterization and development is minimal. They seem to just fall into Satou's lap after meeting him for a single episode or two. There really is no impactful relationship as all these girls are drawn to him like a typical harem protagonist.
Hime is the most prominent among the harem as she is not only the first girl introduced but also the childhood friend. Naturally, she has an "advantage". There's an unwriten role in harem anime like this where these advantages allows her to get to the main protagonist first. There's even segments where the two are about to 'do it' only to be interrupted by some aisine reason. But alas, this is show was never made with a commitment to relationships. It just wants our protagonist to gather rings like pieces to a puzzle and unlock his true role as a ring hero. Sadly, even that isn't accomplished because this is and I say this with confidence: a very incomplete adaptation.
By adaptation standards, you get alluring fan service with the princesses being decorated with attractive figures. Satou gets himself caught into compromising positions and I assure you, this anime is 100% aware of what it's doing. Fan service is filled with boobs, ass, and questionable positions. There are dialogues spoken throughout the show that suggests intercourse but because this isn't a hentai, those can't be aired on TV.
Don't blame the idea on this series but do blame how the plot and character cast. To be honest, the premise doesn't sound so half baked if it's executed with some care. Sadly, this anime is the result of a rushed adaptation that puts shame on the fantasy genre this season.

Tales of Wedding Rings - What a way to force a harem through circumstances. If you didn't know, mangaka duo Maybe has previous adaptations in the AniManga space: Silver Link's Spring 2012 adaptation of Tasogare Otome × Amnesia a.k.a Dusk Maiden of Amnesia (which is low-key one of my favourite shows of the early 2010s), and MAPPA's Summer 2019 adaptation of Katsute Kami Datta Kemono-tachi e a.k.a To the Abandoned Sacred Beasts (which was kinda meh to low-level decent). This season, the duo's entry has extended one more adaptation: Kekkon Yubiwa Monogatari a.k.a Tales of Wedding Rings, with its manga ongoing into its 10th year, whileKemono-tachi has ended last year. But when it comes to the ultimate comparison of quality and content, Tasogare Otome comes first with a wide gap, while both Kekkon Yubiwa Monogatari and Kemono-tachi share the same problems having to be serialized alongside each other and sharing resources to keep its content fresh, which if you've watched MAPPA's anime back in 2019, you would understand why.
But back to Kekkon Yubiwa Monogatari. Again, I found the manga to be a plentiful read after watching Kemono-tachi which was frankly a mess back in the day, and then again, it's not exactly like a mind-blowing mind-over-matter kind of story, given its romantic fantasy context. And before you mention it further, nope, it's NOT an Isekai (though technically it has elements of it).
The story of a boy being introduced to a girl whom he was supposed to take care of while escaping from the perils of another world, this is the life of Haruto Satou, who took care of Hime for 10 years until she is called back home to her original world. Seeing that he has regarded her as his childhood friend (and literally one who cannot stop simping for her), he can't let her go that simply, and decided to follow her and her grandfather presumptiously back to her world, which he learns that Hime is not just a typical girl, but the princess of her own land: Krystal Novaty Nokanatika, along with her grandfather, who is the Great Mage of her land, Alabaster. Her being wed to a prince is customary, but something which Satou doesn't quite understand, and is forced to act when demons attack their land in the way of Hime suddenly kissing him and granting him the powers of her ring to defeat said demons. He then learns that Hime's ring is only but one of a set of 5 rings which represent the Earth's elements, hers being of the light, and he needs to acquire all 5 rings to be able to defeat said enemy of the Abyss King as the legend's Ring King. And despite said prince being not too all happy about it, he obliges to help Satou, Hime and Alabaster go around their world to find the Ring Princesses which safeguard the rings, which also grant him powers, and ultimately adopt them into the harem as his potential wives, to put their mind and strength together to take down the Abyss King and save their land.
Let me make this clear: Haruto Satou is no gigachad 100 Girlfriends's Rentaro, that is for sure. Despite him having the looks of an average guy who is not cut out for anything, he's still has to ultimately accept that he is assigned a hero role and has to wed the girls of various looks and sizes, no matter the context of their origins. The TL;DR about Satou is that he's very wishy-washy, often one who can't make rational decisions until he's being told to man up and take charge of the impending situations, unlike Marmarugias "Marse" Gisaras, the prince who was supposed to be wed to Hime, who'd rather support him in being the Ring King. The girls fare no better, as they're in every sense of the word: plot devices to forward Satou's role as the Ring King. So as long as they're "conquered", the plot-girl moves on and becomes a background harem character. The only good thing about it is that despite having a harem, Satou literally pines for Hime and her alone as his destined wife, always wanting to have sex with her, but gets cockblocked each and every time new troubles come along. Also, Hime is naturally jealous that Satou's other 4 potential wives: Earth Ring Princess of elf Nefritis Romca, Fire Ring Princess of catgirl Granart Needakitta, Air Ring Princess of Saphir Maasa and Earth Ring Princess of Amber Idanokan, their personalities (to each their own) are interesting, though as mentioned, they're plot-devices who lie on the sidelines, always wanting to juice up Satou when he feels down, or his commitment to Hime hits constant lows. Nevertheless, the girls are a fun bunch when they're allowed to go loose, and that's about the best thing I can say about the main character cast.
The production is just about as decent as studio Staple Entertainment's last offering of a similar kind: Summer 2022's Kinsou no Vermeil a.k.a Vermeil in Gold. It's not bad, but nothing great either, with rather dark undertones for a fantasy show, despite it being uncensored for the eyes of culture. Likewise, the music is just so-so, it just exists and is rather unnoticeable. The show's theme songs on the other hand, it's all hands on deck for the musical project Sizuk, with the OP "Lover's Eye" feat. AYAME (from AliA), which is a rather musically tonal song fit for the series in a good way, and the ED "Kokoro no Naka" feat. AliA being a rather low-ball effort being just a presentation for the 5 central girls in pure ecchi taste.
Look, I can also appreciate a romantic fantasy Ecchi series if it's done right, but as much as I put Kekkon Yubiwa Monogatari's manga to decency levels, while the anime is not a bad adaptation per se, the story elements definitely suffered as the Elephant in the room, and the production isn't as good as the manga's art, the Ecchi segments included (which is one of the highlights of the original source material).
Fool me once, shame on me (because Tasogare Otome is THAT fantastic). Fool me once, shame on you (Kemono-tachi is nothing memorable). The 3rd time's the charm, and this falls close to Kemono-tachi levels but better by a tad bit, however, is an untouchable when compared to Tasogare Otome. If you're interested, the ongoing manga still has lots of material content left for what happens thereafter, and that is left for you to judge the series in totality after watching the anime.
Now then, if you excuse me, I'm going to read more 100 Girlfriends in preparation for Season 2 than peril through this close-to-pornographic Lord of the Rings parody.

6 - Inoffensive isekai slop, with some nice pacing and story beats - It has some heart - Not bad, not great. The score of '6' is what I give it relative to other things, my enjoyment of it was a '7' and I never felt like I shouldn't bother with it whenever I saw a new episode pop up. Story: High school student turned protagonist in a fantasy world to become the 'Ring King' who needs to convince five princesses to give him their paired ring, in order to fulfill the legend and beat the baddie. He's into the main girl, who's into him. There aresome nice locations with interesting dilemmas and the circumstances he has to go through, at the end of the day it does feel like an adventure, which is fun.
Ecchi: While this is an ecchi show with partial nudity (breasts), it doesn't do much with it and it actually tones it down quite a lot as the show goes, despite it adding girl after girl.
It is extremely frustrating the MC is either constantly interrupted or wimps out. This is a boy turning into a man who has no social expectations of him since he's not in Japan anymore, but for an entire season he just can't get to grips with how to get with a girl, let alone multiple, because he insists that he's only into the main girl. Whatever happened to having casual fun?
The girls look good but have no appeal.
Isekai: I don't know why it's an isekai.
The story hook of the main character following a childhood friend (girl he likes) through a portal isn't particularly engaging and it adds absolutely nothing to the story since our protagonist doesn't do anything clever with his modern knowledge in a fantasy setting, he's mostly just 'guy who tries hard'.
At one point they return and you'd think there'd be some fun to be had with the fantasy girls with cat ears, horns, elf ears in modern Japan right? Nope.
Ultimately the show takes itself too seriously too often and completely forgets to have fun with things. I recommend it because the story in itself is not bad, there's a really good foundation for something that could've been great.

Honestly, you know exactly what you are looking for in these kind of animes that dont take themselves too seriously. It is all about the cheesiness, beautiful girls, Risqué scenes. This anime provides all of this whilst not exerting the samey MC loser trope. He is typical but also hás some growth throughout hte anime, and Thankfully not a pervert 24/7 or stuck UP. Just an easy going mc. And within his role, I dont find think boring or irritating. All the girls also evolve somewhat during the 12 eps. It is enjoyable! Cheesy but enjoyable. The only downside is some scenes being Very undetailed. I dontthink every anime has to hit the high notes of the likes of Frieren, Mushoku, Strims Gate and FMA. Specially when the anime is an Ecchi harém kind.

This did not cook. How tf do u mess up a basic ass ecchi harem? The ecchi is the most half assed ecchi I've seen in a long time. The MC is your bog standard boring weak spineless shy stuttering fucktard. All the side characters and harem members are generic and one dimensional af, his harem feels extremely forced, absolutely no progress or character development whatsoever. Lil bro always has some excuse to not do anything 18+ while blushing and fucking around for 11 eps. This anime does its sorry attempt at edging, but instead of using lubricant and tissues, it uses sandpaper. At the everyend, he seems to start growing something that might be a spine, but it ends there with a lame ass semi 'cliffhanger'. Yayyyy, onto season 2 whenever that comes out? Are you excited?
Most generic harem/isekai animes have one or two redeeming factors that make them watchable, even enjoyable. Just look at arifureta, finest assassin, beast tamer, wisemans grandchild, reincarnation of the strongest exorcist etc etc. Whether its a confident/interesting/OP main lead, interesting characters, good character development, good chemistry between characters, they have at least something going for them, despite being shit animes.
This anime has nothing. It's not good, nor it is bad enough to enter the 'enjoyably bad' realm of animes. It's generic uninspired slugde with static boring characters, a decent premise, a forced harem, and the most generic plot ever. It had a few promising elements, the world building was great, the base premise has potential, and the MC tries... sometimes, and his relationship with main girl is pretty good, I liked it. The worst crime an anime can commit is not being bad, it's being boring and forgettable, and this is a perfect example. If you're really into harem animes, give it a watch ig?

There are lots of questions for this anime if you think logically! What I question most is the strangest thing, I swear. * Where has the demon knight been for 10 years? even though he wanted to take all the rings. whereas in the anime it is told that the Demon Knight is strong, the only one who can kill him is the king of the ring. So, while Hime was transferred to another world, where was the Demon Knight? why not take the other ring first, why wait for Hime, the owner of the ring of light? * If you think "the ring of light isthe key to all rings, so that's why the Demon Knight has to take the ring of light first?" But why, when he failed to get the ring of light, did the Demon Knight change course and look for the ring of wind? If the ring of light is the key then why did he move to target the ring of wind? If you really want to be taken by a demon knight so that the MC doesn't use it, why not do it beforehand when Hime is transferred to another world???? and the king of the ring isn't here yet??? It should be easier to take!

So the story is something that i was totally interested honestly ! it's the fanservice and the fact it's a harem of this year ! there are better harem anime than this in this year but they don't include proper fanservice like this one ! plus the main lead is not that bad if you compare to those other typical harem protagonists! so after completing it i have to say it is decent enough ! there were some illogical and dumb moments here and there but they were overshadowed in the fanservice! plus here there is actual harem going on i mean this not thatkind of anime where the plot starts to drag on and give some sprinkles of harem ! this is full blown harem ! plus male lead actually is not indecisive ! also the fact that i liked the opening and ending songs ! the opening song is nice but the ending song does it for me! it's so good ! so as for me it's - 6.9/10 ! the action, animation, plot and theme is mid if you specifically look into it but if you came here for harem with the benefit of fanservice then those other flaws can be ignored for a large amount for this whole season

Loved it just because its harem and isekai .its so bad that i watched it for guilty pleasure. Very avarage and bland story. Characters are bland. The mc guy is ordinary just got some luck and a loyal girl. Only watched till full because of the girl characters.they are so damn good to watch.Its a anime for them who wants to dream about isekai with beautiful girls and harem. I honestly think 2 love interest is enough for harem.above 2 is disgusting (dont judge me). In conclusion its just dream isekai life anime which everyone thinks they could have got but unfortunately the nobody characters are morepowerful than our mc lol.

For a show about marriage, 'Tales of Wedding Rings' is terrible at commitment. And it had potential; it's a half-decent premise, there's minimal cringe, the visuals are crisp and the designs are eye-catching. But all that polish just highlights the one thing left underdeveloped: Satoru the Sexless. All of the princesses fit neatly into an archetype: the girl next door (Krystal), the bashful romantic (Nefritis), the bawdy barbarian (Granart), the snarky A-cup (Saphir), and the emotionless gynoid (Amber). And that would be fine because nobody watching this is expecting nuanced character studies. The fun should come from Satoru floundering as he’s smooshed between their competing breastsizes on the sliding scale of anime anatomy. But instead of hijinks, tension, or any real emotional stakes, we get a protagonist who openly favours Krystal while the rest quietly accept their second-fiddle status. No jealousy, no competition, no drama. What should be a raunchy, emotionally charged mess plays out in a lifeless vacuum.
Pick a lane! Either a chaotic harem romp where horn-dog Satoru has to eventually choose one love above the rest, or a poly-drama where he fights to stay committed to all his wives as they claw for exclusive affection. But we get the dullest of both worlds: Satoru is a proper gentleman, devoted to Krystal from the start, with the others barely registering as romantic competition. No stakes, chaos, drama, or fun.
So, 'Tales' feels like a high school fantasy nerd’s attempted first "novel" written after he's binged Lord of the Rings and a few-too-many shonen isekai, but with all the adolescent indulgences ironed out. Nothing gets TOO spicy, nobody gets TOO indecent, the tropey characters are played straight in a perfectly generic medieval world where defeating the Dark Lord of Evil is of central narrative focus from start to end.
It’s comfy, well-made, low-energy/low-investment isekai fluff you can burn through in a few days, one or two episodes at a time. It'll bore you before it offends you, and anyone intrigued by the polygamous premise will leave unsatisfied on both base and narrative levels. A missed opportunity, and totally skippable, but watchable.

This anime is the typical ecchi harem isekai you may probably know if you watch it with high expectations in mind but as a critic who turned off his brain for a while and watched this, I enjoyed this A LOT! Unexpectedly but yes, though I did noticed a lot of flaw in the anime but I can't deny the fact that I enjoyed the wackiness of this one. So here are what I noticed in the anime: Character 7/10 I like em, typical group of girls in a harem though the guy is not your typical harem guy so I actually like him a bit. Thoughas you may expect, not all of them have well written characters since the story mainly focuses on our two couple which are Satou and Krystal. They are the only ones who have actual goal and actual human like behavior; whilst the others are just "anime characters" who fills in the gap to make it a harem.

Story is funny, kind of reminds me of legend of zelda, collecting these to defeat the main antagonist and all that. Though it's kinda shallow considering how easy they went off and married Satou the mc. The only realistic marriage I've seen throughout the story was Nifrits (the elf girl) because she's the only one who actually took a little more time to convince to get married. But that was it, the story is a good enough push to the story though there are times when the character developments feel forced just so the story can go on .

I KNOW, there are lots of times when their anatomy is off, when their heads look too small or even their hands look weird. But what really got me is HOW GOOD THE COLORS ARE AND THE BACKGROUND DESIGN! gotta give to those folks who colored this anime and drew the backgrounds, this is some good shite. Its funny how shallow the story is, expecting it to be something like highschool dxd and then you see the quality of the art and you're just like "yo what the hell, okay maybe i underestimated it a bit too much"

I'm not sure if it's because of my earphones but damn this anime got some solid sound design. I also liked the music motifs and themes made for each scenarios and characters. It sounds like they actually put some money into this anime, hands down.

I watched this expecting this story would be over once i finished episode 12 but after seeing that horribly made cliffhanger at the last second, i got disappointed. How fast the story was progressing felt like it was rushing because the episode 12 was near, and then i see episode 12 with its stupid cliffhanger, then what was the point of the plot dragging so fast if its not yet finished? If there would be season 2 then at least they couldve made the pacing slower, which couldve been a good opportunity for deeper characters. And because of that rushed story, none of them barely has any actual character, how disappointing, just when i was enjoying the show. But oh well, guess ill read the manga instead.

I don't really get this show... Like the whole point of this premise is that he's gathering a harem, but he's basically fully committed to Hime the whole time and has no desire to be with the others. Each of the other girls get about 30 seconds of being a real character, then do basically nothing for the rest of the show. If the show wants to be a harem show, then Satou should actually want to have a harem, and the girls should actually be into that. Otherwise, it should just focus on Satou and Hime's relationship as they go around collecting party members forsome other made up reason, and not much would change. They could still all be hot women trying to bone him, but the fact that he's "Married" to the other's, but doesn't care about them, makes it a lot harder do the "ignore the obvious moral issues with the anime harem" that I can usually do with these shows.
Besides that, it's relatively inoffensive, but bland.

Production: Visuals are decently good. Audio is fine. Setting: MC is very unsatisfying to watch and is the most inconsistent character out of the entire cast. Supporting characters are actually interesting with unique powers, personalities, and body types (important in this genre). Story setting is fine, but the isekai elements seem unncessary for the plot as the story almost never acknowledges the isekai elements after the initial episode. World rule consistency is not very good at the start, but this went away as the story developed.Plot:
Plot is basically a combination of Lord of the Rings + Strike the Blood, but much worse.
Story needs more explaination/exposition as often time events just suddently happen at random.

Do you want fun rom com fantasy harems? Then watch and chill and you may enjoy it too. From the perspective of someone who is just looking for fun, had low expectations based on the ratings and watched the English dub version. Looking forward to season 2, would re-watch into it after it was completed and dubbed. Personally, that is all I want to know from a review... The story is interesting enough, but isn't the reason I'd watch this series again. The voice actors, art, pacing, character relationships and ridiculousness are some of the reasons I would. blah, blah blah blah, blah blah, blah, blah, blah blah blah, blah blah...

It's not bad. If you want an isekai harem with really hot girls of different species and some ecchi/romance mixed in then this show is fine. The fighting is pretty meh and the story is filled with a lot of flaws and plot holes. The show is extremely predictable, you already know what's going to happen the majority of the show before you even watch it cause the synopsis tells you everything. He's going to go around collecting the rings aka go find the 4 other hot girls to marry then fight to save the world from the Abyss King. And I'm sure you can guesshow it ends.
It's only worth watching if you're in it for the lewd waifus and not the story. The show does have romance progression but it doesn't feel satisfying. Too many times things start to get good only for your usual interruptions to ruin the moment. Still much better than your common blue balls romance shows where you have to wait till the final episode to see them potentially kiss let alone confess.
Don't bother watching unless you're only here for the waifus.

The history has a very interesting plot, But after some episodes feels more like a hentai. So it got very predictable I feel disappointed.
