The Carrot Military Service special unit, Cat Shit One, is an elite private military fighting force. Members Perkins and Botasky are stationed in the Middle East to conduct reconnaissance on an insurgent base where hostages are being held. However, things quickly escalate when the enemies kill a hostage and mercilessly torture another. Realizing that they cannot wait for their requested backup to arrive, the vastly outnumbered pair of rabbit mercenaries decide to rescue the captives themselves. [Written by MAL Rewrite]

Mercenary Wabbits. That is what this show is. And it is AWESOME. Cute, fluffy bunnies represent the american (a somewhat obscure japanese pun. Rabbit in japanese is "Usagi" U.S.A G.I) decked out in full tactiCOOL gear fighting camels, representing arabs. It works suprisingly well and I would recommend it to all my friends. The CG in this show is absolutely stunning. Honestly, it blew me away how detailed EVERYTHING is. From the rabbits down to the guns. The designs are impeccable as are the tactics portrayed. No complaints here at all. Worth noting is the "camera" effects it achieves, Very impressive. The sounds as well are superb, with my onlygripe being a fairly minor one, that of the misrepresentation of how effective suppressors are at muffling gunshots. But, it's such a common mistake it doesn't really detract at all. The voices fit perfectly, the guns are accurate and all is well. The characters are all fine and believable. You know...as far as tactical rabbits go anyway. Go ahead and watch it, you won't regret it. 10/10
Rabbits at war, the idea is very original I've never seen anything so awesome lol. I thought this anime was going to be a joke because of the name, but man I was real surprised. The action is so intense and enjoyable, but its quite predictable. The art surprised me by how beautiful the CG was, everything is so detailed and flawless. Another quality I liked was how they didn't rely on blood spilling out all over the place and they could have done that if they wanted to. The sound was epic, the music adds to the drama and I love the sounds of the explosionsand gunshots. Best anime of the season no doubt, I recommend it to anyone, but mostly if you're into war. Damn I can't wait for the next episode, it sucks they're taking their sweet time I hope it airs monthly at least.
Play first person shooter games? Yes? Then you'll enjoy bunnies shooting and killing other animals in Call of Duty: Bunny Ops. No? Then there's much better ways to waste time. STORY: This is the computer animated version of a manga probably no one has ever heard of (Called Apocalypse Meow in the US). To tell the truth there's really just not much to say or to even look forward to in CS1, but not because there's only (And probably there will be only) one episode, but it just doesn't do anything at all to stand out, I mean besides visually. The experience of watching this anime is exactlylike watching someone play a first person shooter with gorgeous graphics with said person going through the level on the easiest difficulty, the player is pretty much not going to be touched at all and you'll just be sitting there, bored. The only actual difference here to your standard shooter video games is: Instead of humans killing each other, animals like bunnies and camels are pulling the triggers. The story is very predictable to the point of becoming yawn inducing boring, but it has enough flash and bullet fire to at least keep some watchers interested (The word interested is being used loosely here). However, this anime is, in plenty of ways, pretty offensive to several kinds of viewers. Especially towards american audiences, middle eastern audiences, and people who like/love animals. The main characters are american who are portrayed as bunnies, and the joke is that bunny/rabbit is called usagi in japan, so the creator designed bunnies to be the americans because the first three letters are u-s-a, then g-i, and they are fighting in a middle eastern desert against the people there, whom are portrayed as camels and goats. To say it's bad in taste and questionably racist is an understatement. But honestly despite that, I found it to be very creative and I support the idea to some extend, but the direction of it is just bland, questionable, and just plain boring, and maybe it should have in a different director's hands to be able to work out. ANIMATION: Incredible and amazing computer animation that's almost pixar quality, even the animals running around shooting each other look believable yet the entire look of it is just silly and ridiculous, and it's easy to be turned away from it. SOUND: Well, like everything else, it's what you can expect from a shooter video game would sound like: bang, bang, BOOM! It doesn't stand out like the visuals do. Voice acting is fine in either language, but since it's in english now, that's the version to listen to. OVERALL: The Good: + Great computer animation that even Pixar would take notice. + Visually creative. The Bad: - Generic plot and boring setting. - Potentially offensive. - Just one episode isn't enough to hold interest or even gain interest. If you're in the frat boy crowd who plays shooter games, this is an excellent way to burn... well 25 minutes, while the rest of us just prefer to be behind the "controller" when shooting something.
Amazing Storywriting, very interesting and well written characters. I especially liked Perkins and Botasky they have a wonderful Chemistry. Detailed action choreography and beautiful VFX. Serene sound Design and Music. The voice Acting brings out the best of these characters, very emotional. The Ending is very cathartic, while being a bit cliche it still worked wonderfully in the context. The only problem I have with it, is that I could not find a higher fidelity version with better sound and a higher resolution of it, I hope there will be a remaster of this gem. Military Rabbits forever. 10/10 would recommend to any animal lover.
Eye candy, superb sound, violence--That's about it. I would say the show is really about two military men who are "pros" doing Jack Bauer moves while being processed through Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 cinematics. When it comes down to how well this "anime" was executed, it seemed very predictable and I couldn't help sensing the "been there, done that" feeling through the whole show. The characters seemed very generic and shallow. Without using examples from the show, the script seemed very campy most of the time. Especially the ending... The CG is outstanding for an anime TV series. I felt as though I was watchinga Pixar short-film through the majority of the show. The sound and effects were outstanding. Although, not much was given to us in regards to the character's background and the story, the whole show felt more like it was only about guns, explosions and "cool" sounds. Would I recommend this to other people? Sure, but not in a sense that it's the best thing on this planet. I will continue to watch it, but the impression I've gotten so far is that it's another hyped up "anime". I hope the producers prove me wrong.
Story: Disgusting story. Cliche. Why not America vs Israel? *** Art: Good 3D Iranian: Camel Israeli: Donkey American: Baboon Japan: Hare *** Sound: Good*** Character: Good Enjoyment: I only watch 3 minutes, then sick of it. *** Overal: Mediocre
As part of the Call of Duty generation, I admit that I love shooting and killing virtual people. I don't even mind watching other people do it. I also don't mind watching bunnies and camels shoot each other....yep.... Cat Shit One is about...well...about the Iranian war basically. Iran is a bunch of camels. U.S. are bunnies.....yep....um, why the hell are we bunnies? You know what, who cares, we kick ass anyway. But essentially that is all this short ONA is about: U.S. bunnies kicking camel ass while saving two hostages. Besides that, there isn't anything to set the story apart from others or better yet, makeit an actual story. It relies on special effects and action for the entertainment, while the story is quite poor. The 3D animation is actually quite impressive. The characters are very detailed to the point that I am convinced that camels and bunnies would look like that if they were combined with a human, honestly. The scope views are also a nice touch at points. The soundtrack is exactly something you would hear in a war video game. It only added to the excitement subtly. The thing that impressed me with the sound was the gun shot effects. They are timed almost perfectly, and it was very realistic for an anime full of animals. Characters....I can't really say anything. There was no description or elaboration on the character, so it was poor in that aspect. Even with the poor story and ok sound, I found this series EXTREMELY entertaining. Something about fuzzy animals killing each other was incredibly satisfying. So if you want to watch something quick, adorably bad ass, and something that you don't need to think to watch period, check it out. If you're looking for something for a story that is satisfying, look elsewhere.
This. Is. Epic. With the unlikely combination of mercenary yet cute bunny rabbits on a mission to rescue civilians from the grasp of the evil camels (Say what?), and pwning them at the same time. This story has such unlikely combinations, it is what makes it unique, and totally awesome. It is a tad pointless and hard to understand in the beginning, but hey, if I can figure it out, you can too. It has action, cuteness all packed in one. It is short, which is unfortunate but it feels like a perfect length. The art, is absolutely outstandingly detailed, 3-D and so bloody cute. Theexplosions are pretty well detailed as well. The characters did not really have much time to develop but their personalities were shown, and after seeing them in a life and death situation, their reactions tells the audience all. The graphics were the most enjoyable, as well as the total randomness of the rabbits and camels with guns and grenades. Overall, the target audience is pretty widespread, and almost anyone can enjoy this. It is silly and only uptight pompous people wouldn't appreciate this. The total randomness will leave one grinning by the end of the movie.
Cat Shit One is very short OVA. The story line was unique compared to most standard anime, buti it has a fairly stereotypical america war theme. The art was fabulous and fairly realistic looking. The 3D animation style is very effective in heightening the anticipation of the story. The slow down effect used at times during a kill shot was almost humorous not because it was done poorly but because the characters themselves are animals. The characters lack a back story but for the shortness of the feature I don't believe are needed. The American soldiers are portrayed as rabbits , which I found wasreally cute when their tails were twitching or they were running. The enemy in a clearly dessert terrain was portrayed by a camel, not politically correct but a big surprise when the first appear on screen.Your american soldier bunnies are pretty stereotypical. You have your soldier who has to be the hero and runs into the danger and your timid soldier who is always asking what to to do next. The story lacked in the music area and the sounds were mainly that of the shooting, though the small amount of background music did assist in the suspense. Personally , I thought this particular feature was really easy to watch, it was quick simple and the fact the charters were animals really made me laugh. It's an OVA I could watch again and again even though it's no masterpiece.
Cat Shit One was an unbelievable thriller with a crazy good story and even better character development. The animation, camera angles, etc. were all impeccable, and I am excited to watch this over for the 39th time. Today, I made pancakes for breakfast, followed by making myself a coffee before hopping on my PC to play League of Legends... BIG mistake. I do not like the people on League, they are so mean... I had a really bad day in my bronze 3 elo, and nearly demoted twice. I was SOOOO mad, because of my games, and my friend Heeny told me he'd cheer meup, and boy did he cheer me up. He agreed to watch Cat Shit One with me, since he knows I watch it every single day, and it made my day, my whole week even.
Personally this story drove me to tears of how good it was, one of my faves by far, as an avid anime watcher, I have never experienced something so sad, breath-taking and masterful in my entire life, the story is truly outstanding. The character development of the Cat-Shit-One cast was truly something unique, a brotherhood at that. We first see Packy and his black friend saving a bunch of hostages after receiving orders, personally this was amazing as the fight scenes and the perfect accuracy shooting really made this anime stand out to me. Packy's friend struggles with various hardships, being scared and about to die, he misseshis shots as an RPG flies towards him, this was perfect character development as after this, we see an intriguing dialogue between Packy and Packy's friend, in which Packy tells him to drop the expensive equipement, in which Packy's friend doesnt agree and likes his equipment, in which this saves him later on, proving Packy wrong. Later on, Packy comes back to save his friend, defying orders, showing perfect friendship, placing his values of the life of his friend over the orders that his commander Packy gave him, this displays trust and friendship and the fact that they will survive with a higher chance, being 2 specialists, in which Packy comforted Packy's black friend. Towards the end the Chopper comes in and saves the hostage at the rendevouz point, coming into the rescue for Packy and his friend, they eventually kill all the terrorists and head home, Packy is mad at his friend for denying orders and is very angry, but offers to buy his friend drinks as he did save his life after all, the friendship and cast of Cat Shit One continues. This story is a solid 7/10, I wish there was more content and will be looking forward to extra content in the future if this happens to occur. I hope you enjoyed my review and have a nice day.
Cat Shit One is a must watch. Never have I ever enjoyed a one episode "anime: like this before, and i think that you will love it too Story: pretty bare bones. Save the hostages and don't die. Bunnies vs Camels. Lol what do you want from me?? A sound 6. (Fair/Fine) Art: Wow. If they adapted berserk into CGI like this and not the ass that we got maybe i'd watch berserk. Let me tell you - the CGI is phenomenal. I adore the visuals on this series. It gets a 10 from me. (Outstanding/Masterpiece) Sound: nothing special. Some gun fire or whatever. It receives a 7.(Good) Characters: kinda boring characters. Nothing special on this end. Just some bunnies with guns. Amusing but not good by any means lol. Solid 6. (Fair/Fine) Enjoyment: when I un-ironically say that I enjoyed the hell out of this, I really did. I watched this with my bros on a whim and will never regret it. A 10 from me. (Outstanding/Masterpiece) Please do yourself a favor and go watch Cat Shit One. Overall Score: 8
I'm going to be honest here. When I first saw the title of this anime I thought it was a joke and I was expecting, well, something horrible to laugh at. What I got? The complete opposite. If I had to describe Cat Shit One in one word it would be: Amazing. Everything about Cat Shit One is completely mind-blowing. The whole idea is very original and it has been used well throughout this series so far. All of the guns and military tactics are very accurate, which makes it easy to tell how much work was put into the making of the very first episode.I have no complaints. I would recommend this to everyone. Especially if you're into military/war series. Or even if you just think the bunnies are cute, give it a go!
There are people in the world who say that it is impossible for something completely perfect to exist. This anime proves all of those people factually incorrect. Cat Shit One embodies pure, unadulterated, perfection. I genuinely didn't think anything would top bikini warriors but this really did it. the chemistry between the two characters "Perkins" and "Botasky" is godlike, you can really tell the voice actors put everything into their role as these two lovable rabbits in their fight against arab camels to save some hostages. The fight choreography is a sight to behold. You can really see the effort put into making every battlein this show look as realistic as possible and it really does show. With this show, I decided to watch the dub because while you kinda know the sub is going to be absolute perfection, the dub would be where you could see any rough patches with the animation. As you probably guessed, there were absolutely no issues with the dub, It is actually what inspired me to write this review in the first place. Would I recommend Cat Shit One? Of course I would. This anime is proof that there is a god that exists and he hasn't forsaken this world.
Cat Shit One the animated series is, well its okay. I really liked it but I don't think its got enough going on for me to recommend it if it wasn't free on Youtube. The story is generic bordering on non-existent, voice acting is middling at best the animation is solid theres just something cool about cartoonishly humanized animals with realistic weapons, vehicles and equipment set in realistic human environments. I still enjoyed the 21 minute single, theres something just appealing about a fairly realistic approach to combat in cartoon form. Characters actually TRY to think strategically and do stuff in a sensible advantageous way. Butthe major changes from the original series bug me, why is it set in the Afghan war? Most of the appeal of the original came from the fact that it was a incredibly realistic and well researched depiction of the VIETNAM WAR I guess the idea was to make the series something "new" for returning fans and try to modernize with a more contemporary conflict to give new fans more impact seeing a parody of events that happened in their lifetime. The problem is that the Afghan war isn't as interesting and is nowhere near as culturally significant as Vietnam. Also why are we down to a 2 member team when before we had 3? None of these complaints are enough to make me stop enjoying the series, but I think that's mostly just due to my personal love of war dramas. Either way you should totally check it out, since its fully available free on Youtube (at time of writing) you've got nothing to loose.
This piece of art is completely and utterly life changing. There is no other way to describe the beauty and grace that is Cat Shit One. This masterpiece of animation shows the bravery of animals on the battlefield that no other piece of media really shows. It introduces the idea of struggle and selflessness to a whole new demographic. Furries. This is the only answer we have been missing. The characters in this short film experience full arcs in a short amount of time. The creator manages to fully fledge out certain characters, and even manages to establish a tangible relationship between the two main characters. CatShit One is rivaled by no other.
Best anime ever. Has everything: rabbits, war, rpg's, explosions, guns, racism. The plot is about fighting isis to make it was was. The best part of this anime was when Perkins had done front flip + 360 noscope. The part that I didnt understand was when Perkins didn't help Botasky when he was about to get killed, I really got triggered right there. In conclusion this was one of the best animus I've ever watched in my short life, now I've seen everything that I had to see before leaving this world. Best anime ever. Praiseworthy ! I was amazed with this type of animation for an anime. Apart from 2D animation, most of 2.5D or 3D type anime has failed. Each minute of the scene is mesmerising and likable. Even though it doesn't show any particular story behind the characters, but it does justice to their characteristics through their doing in 22 minutes. Be it serious scene, be it comedy moment, the it dramatic or those camels expression, I was amazed for each second of this Cat shit one, similar to enjoying cartoons in my childhood days. Name is Cat Shit One, but Rabbit has joined the group. In the war, theyhave been called for the duty. They must fulfill the mission, it's the order and most importantly discipline must be me maintained. Soldier Rabbit Paki and Bota landed on the enemy hideout. They took position, Terrorist camel might outcome them in number but with a proper plan, they can perfectly excited the rescue mission. And that's what they do through out 22 minutes. Paki plays the front man while Bota is the cover who snipes out the enemies. They put good fight to the Camel terrorist organization and finally succeed.
Review: Story/Plot/Writing: Based off of a very obscure manga. Rather predictable and the viewers aren't given any information other than rabbits and camels being at war, the rabbits representing Americans (little Japanese pun, rabbit means Usagi USA gi) and the camels representing Arabs. There really isn't much to be said here in terms of story or plot. Very shallow. Characters: There is only 22 minutes of run-time, so these characters weren't given the opportunity to develop or anything like that. They're shallow and are typical soldiers but get the job done. Art/Animation: This is definitely this anime's strong suit. Everything, from the 3D models as well as the3D rendered backgrounds look amazing! The animation is also rendered stupendously well, the movement is very smooth, the camera effects work well, and the action is eye candy! The visuals in this anime are stunning and stand out amongst the heaping pile of trash CGI anime out there for being visually great. CGI in anime doesn't get better than this! Sound/Music: Voice acting was good, as expected from this medium. The sound effects work pretty good. The music made it feel more dramatic, though nothing too special. Overall: I like it! It's a short, but very fun action-packed anime and I highly recommend you check it out if you're looking for something that isn't story, plot or character-heavy and something you can unwind with. It's lacking in narrative but the visuals excel in every sense of the word. Too bad there's only 1 episode for something that claims to be a series. 11 years and no new episodes? Come on :( 6.3/10 (Rounded to 6/10 for MAL score)!
