Ok I've watched close to 80 different anime, all types, and one thing I've learned is that you cant judge until you watched the whole thing. However, when I heard of "I Love My Younger Sister", I was skeptical. I mean, there are some messed up anime out there, but a story about twins not wanting to love each other as siblings but as lovers? Now thats messed up, but when I saw reviews and thought about it I decided, "What's the harm?". And when I finally watched it, Wow! What a amazing story! Ok, it was beyond depressing, but it was still really good.Weather you support their love or not, you cant deny how great this is. Two thumbs way up!
Okay this is my first ever review written so please bear with me if my review writing skills aren't top notch. I was compelled to write a review for this OVA as the ratings of other reviews confused me as whether this was a outstanding OVA or mediocre. So here it goes: Boku wa Imouto ni Koi wo Suru is I'm in Love with my Little Sister in english and from the title we can already see where this OVA is heading. The story doesn't incorporate many different elements to fully flesh out the story however considering the length of the OVA it is very muchunderstandable. Story: The story was not your most original however actually incorporating the genre of incestuous relationships is for me a first for anime. The story is basically as you know it, forbidden love that cannot flourish for obvious reasons and the emotional conflict that comes as a result. There isn't much story either rather it conveys the emotional struggle that the siblings experience during their daily lives. The story at first seems to drag along and then suddenly jump start into a really fast pace and then slow down to a slow jogging pace. Art: The first impression of the art reminds me of a typical shoujo manga as the character's hair seem silky and long, the art of the environment is what really caught my attention as everything seemed rather life like (except the school grounds) but the art was pretty good other than that there really isn't much that makes the art appealing. Sound: Well the sound wasn't very noticeable only does the OP and ED really stand out, the OP is just instrumentals that convey a relaxed, tranquil mood while the ED is some random rock group that personally I thought had very bad taste in making music. Character: The characters weren't out of the ordinary rather Iku is just a cheerful young girl while Yori is a frustrated teen that can't seem to calm his emotions. There wasn't really much space for character development as their love interests were already set from the beginning. Basically what character development consisted of was resolving inner conflict and realization of personal feelings. Enjoyment: I would say i really enjoyed this OVA as it conveys love in a different light however it doesn't throw it out of context rather it keeps a very realistic feel to it. The only objection I have to the whole thing was the portrayal of sexual acts between the characters because they weren't even in high school yet (personally I am a strong believer of sex after marriage so that's why I knocked down my ratings a little bit) but all in all I'd say it was quite good. Overall: Overall the OVA wasn't the best out there but it wasn't the worst, it really brings out the theme that romance isn't always perfect out there, love cannot overcome all obstacles but we can always try our best to maintain it.
Im not sure much is to be said about this story. To be honest it was a bit generic. "Sweet innocent lil sister or in this case twin sister, he loves her, he struggles with it, she comes to realize it. Oh but what about Kami-sama! They get over it..screw the gods, make out, the end." Not to say its not a cute story and the art was pleasent to the eye. The music was also cute ,but theres wasn't much to it. Its pretty short so i guess that shouldve been my first clue not expect too much. Check it out on youtube ifu like but, its not worth much more than that.
Boku wa Imouto ni Koi wo Suru This is a great film, although it plays only in 50 minutes, but the satisfaction is there, despite of the title " we all know i love my younger sister" is not acceptable but when u are there watching, there u can say on that spot i will give consideration for yori and iku..... this is not really a disgusting film that "twin brother and sister are havings ex with each other" but here u can feel what love is, and what love is all about i wish, they will release another episode of this film, iwant to know how they will react in the outside, how they will hold on.... will they find peace in teh storm, or they will cast away..... this is my REVIEW 10.... because they deserve it, this is my judgement and this will be my last... ^_^

There's a reason incestual relationships are rarely taken seriously in anime. It's a hard subject to portray with sincerity, and if not handled properly can be the source of contention among the viewership. Boku wa Imouto runs into that exact problem doing a poor job of selling it's authenticity and even worse of providing the viewer with any meaningful takeaway from the topic as a whole in society. The characters, to put it bluntly, are awful. Yori is a moody brat with rapist tendencies who repeatedly forces himself onto the person he claims to love most of all. Iku has no will of her own, given no personality type outside of jealousy and clinginess. We are never made to like the characters, and are merely swept along in their rapidly developing obsession. Boku wa Imouto also fails to provide the proper exposition for Yori's overwhelming desire for his sister. A childhood promise where he pinky swears to marry her isn't enough of a convincing argument. How he can go from vehemently rejecting her existence to suddenly forcing himself on her is unrealistic, even for anime. The climax in all stories of this nature is the moment they are found out - whether by society or a mutual friend who walks in on them. Boku wa Imouto's version of this are inanimate statues in a church who Iku assumes means God hates her. None of their friends raise enough suspicion to threaten the relationship. One classmate ogles Iku, makes a rude joke about her, gets beat down by Yori, and then questions how close they are as if a brother doesn't naturally respond to his sister being made fun of. This isn't how you create tension. Koi Kaze is a top comparison for this anime on MAL, which is akin to comparing Mars of Destruction to Neon Genesis Evangelion. Koi Kaze goes into so much greater depth, with much better sincerity shown from its characters and a far better resolution that you can never forget. Its disrespectful to even compare the two - THAT is how this type of subject matter should be handled. It feels as though this was made only to show the result of incestual relationships, rather than the actual process, which is the most important aspect in making a good story of this nature.
Please don't bash me. It's my first review. Anyway, the reason I rated this so poor is because I'm sick of cliche romance. It's not even romance, it's just a the strong desire to have sex. The story revolves around the stereotypical smart, popular(ish) anime guy who thinks his sister is hot. He doesn't even love her, he just wants her body. Sex is fine, but my kind of sex is after marriage. Besides, these people are way too young! It just annoyed me to no end, and I could hardly stand it. I don't mean to spoil anything but the ending didn't satisfy me, so Iread the manga for some dumb reason. Curiosity killed the cat, I guess. I just wanted to see how their relationship would work out. However, after a few chapters of the manga, I was sick to death, and I dropped it. I'm actually not picky about my anime. I don't mind sex but I don't like it to be explicit, and I don't like it popping up here and there and everywhere. In this show, sex doesn't happen every two minutes, but there was a lot of close-call-sex (where they were about to have it) and an actual scene where they did have it. There's more sex and sex references in the manga, and sexual... themes. Sexual themes galore. What else can I say? Ok well, onto the other things. Story~ The story is flimsy, cliche, and altogether awful. Okay, it wasn't awful, just... average. I mean, if you took away the incest, what else would there be? Your same every day slice-of-life where they look into each other's eyes with that look of, "Oooh, sex." Basically the whole plot relies on the fact that they're brother and sister, and if you break that, it's just cliche and stupid. Of course, ALL incest anime relies on the... well, incest. But what really makes it a good plot is when the characters develop and actually love each other, and when it actually brings a tear to your eye, and it makes you realize just how hard it is for them to be in this kind of relationship. Boku wa Imouto ni Ko-- well, yeah, that freaking long title... anyway, it tries to delve deeply into how tough it is for these two to be related and have feelings for each other, but it doesn't delve deep enough. Maybe I'm heartless, but I didn't sympathize with them. The whole time I was muttering words of "Oh, drama, blah blah blah." Art~ Typical shoujo art. Happy people, shiny hair and eyes, perfect bodies. Yay. sometimes though, the movement was awful, and the artist(s) failed at drawing a frame, so their body is suddenly longer or shorter or their eyes are too far apart, or their hair is suddenly longer then back to short. I wish I could say I liked the art, and I sort of did, but the occasional fail just threw me off. Sound~ Good. Nothing to say here. I liked the sound, nothing to scream "LOVE" about it though, it was just good. It came at the right times (for the most part) and was sort of, well, pretty. The voice acting is okay too, I guess. I mean, it's cliche-sounding, but not bad. Character~ In adventure anime, characters are very important. In fact, in every dang story in the world, characters are very. freaking. important. But in adventure anime, I'd say the plot matters just as much as the characters. With great characters and great plot, you have an amazing adventure. But...that's just that. Boku wa Blahblahblah is a *ROMANCE*. With a romance, the plot is basically non-existant-- it's the CHARACTERS that really matter. The characters make the romance, and they make it likable. But Boku...yeah you get it, basically, the characters are just cliche. In fact, they're not even cliche, they're just awful. It seems as if Iku is just a submissive little girl who will agree to anything just because she feels like she needs to. She's not likable, in my opinion, and the brother is just an idiot who wants sex. The side characters are just there for added drama, and the added drama doesn't work. All in all, that's all to say about these characters... they're just poorly formed. You can't have much character development in a really short show like this, but honestly-- do they have to be bad either? Overall, this show is just not something I liked at all. Please don't hate me for saying this. you can vote me down all you want, but honestly, it's just a matter of opinion. Incest is fine for me, but this was just... no. If you like this kind of thing with cliche drama and... I don't know how to explain it, sexual tension? Then give this show a try. Actually, read the manga first it'll make more... sense. Basically, it's just a matter of opinion, nothing more. I personally think there are different incest anime with better-formed characters and more interesting drama, but oh well. Have a nice day~
This has to be worst thing I've ever watched, not even 5 minutes into the OVA and it gets weird. The title is interesting because surely they're not incestuous, they are. The brother is so weird, he's overprotective and sexualises his sister to no limit. The title lies he doesn't love her, he wants her in a sexual way. The pair are the most boring and overdramatic main characters, they just boil down to what they are. INCEST. I don't know how either them think its good to want your sibling in a weird way let alone your twin. Another thing is the god awfulanimation, I get it was made in 2005 and they might have not had the biggest budget but if the animation alone is not watchable don't bother making an OVA. If you're not a degenerate, don't bother watching. It's just soft hentai with a large amount of incest.
Boku wa imouto ni koi wo suru, which can be translated as “I’m in love with my little” sister brings to us the controversial topic of incestuous love between fraternal twins. This subject will probably upset those with strictly religious moral values or at least those with anything against incest. This anime tells you the story of Iku and Yori, two fraternal twins of opposite genders, who despite being incredibly close to each other during their childhood started to grow apart as both grow up due the forbidden feelings Yori has for Iku.Finally, Iku gets a boyfriend when Yori had in mind to study abroad.Such event brings Yori to decide he wants his younger sister only for himself and so he confesses to her. As long as you are OK with incest, the premise for this OVA is notbad, yet it became an average and predictable romance. The first problem with it is that Yori’s feelings towards his sister can be considered more lustful than romantic as they aren’t well explored and most of the time the plot focuses on his physical attraction to his sister what he mostly denies. So even with a good premise this anime is nothing more than a basic story that will probably emphasize more the stereotype of incest than educate people. Also the plot revolves more around flashbacks of the twins’ past than around of Yori’s struggle about his feelings towards Iku. And fitting with the mediocre plot we have a completely mediocre animation and an under average and inconsistent art that seems to praise disproportionality. The scenarios were poorly drawn and the only thing about them was the use of lightning at some scenes. But not everything is bad in this OVA. The OST, though not very original, was quite amazing with some piano pieces used at the right times to create the right feelings. As for the characters there’s not much to say. Little we can see for their interaction and the dialogue barely transmitted the ideas that were there. Yori personality is somewhat inconsistent most of the times and while this could convey the idea of his troubled personality and feelings it only makes hard for the viewer to get attached to him. We still have Iku that is also another character where flaws prevail. She is oblivious and her actions don’t match with the personality the story tries to carry. It’s almost as she’s a character that has a different personality to adapt to each moment and scene. The cherry in top of the cake is that this romance does not fail only as for the theme of incest, but it fails globally as a romantic story. Would or wouldn’t Yori and Iku be related their relation would still be completely shallow as the ideas of love aren’t conveyed properly or barely conveyed at all. Overall, Boku wa Imouto ni Koi wo Suru is hardly appealing as all the story is mostly unmoving. With a better direction the premise could become a neater anime, with a better defined storyline and decent art and animation. Personally I felt this OVA was too rushed as it just has one 45min episode. Neither of the characters interested to me and the animation, for an anime released in 2005, made it barely watchable. My opinion is that this OVA is far from good but it’s also not the worse one out there, and the interesting premise makes it worth of being watched as it isn’t a complete waste of time.
Honestly, I hated this anime. This anime is just revolved around SEXUAL ATTRACTION between siblings. There is no love. Even though the title is translated to "I Love My Younger Sister", there is NO LOVE. Story: The storyline was HORRIBLE. Like I said before, the title is "I Love My Younger Sister", but honestly, all he really wants is to have sex with her. Basically, the whole anime was how much he wanted to have sex with her. I felt no connection between them at all. The story itself did not take much originality. It probably wouldn't have taken a lot of time tothink up of this plot. Art: The art was okay. Like any other shoujo anime. There was nothing special. Sound: Again, it was like any other anime. Nothing special. However, the acting sometimes seemed forced. Character: The characters were built fairly well. NOT! They were horrible. The characters were shallow and unrealistic (Yes, I know it's fictional but still.). Anyway, I certainly did not enjoy this anime. If you do not like incest things, I would DEFINITELY not recommend you to watch.
'Boku wa Imouto ni Koi wo Suru - I'm in love with my little sister' is a very serious and dramatic anime. In fact it doesn't even behave like an anime. There's no overly ecstatic or some other anime-resembling intro. No slapstick comedy, no weird over the top situations. Everything here is taken absolutely seriously. Think Koi Kaze, but with more drama. It's hard to believe how well this anime does at conveying the feelings of the characters to the viewers, considering we're only given a single 49 minute OVA episode. I'll remind you - this is NOT a movie. The story revolves around twinsof opposite sex, Yori and Iku. In their youth they're very attached to each other and every moment is blissful and full of joy. As time passes by however they grow distant, especially Yori. The reason behind that is more complex than it first appears to be for yori is in fact in love with his twin sister. The story shows us how both characters try to cope with the realities of life and the difficulties sibling couples face every day. The setting is as realistic as it can only get. The characters attend a highschool, live in a middle class familly somewhere in the suburbs of a large city. The realism of the setting and the believable plot and how the writers and artists worked together to combine the two is trully remarkable. Even though this anime is focused on an incestual relationship, there's no sign of lust in the male protagonist and you won't really feel weird watching this. This is a story about a man who genuinely loves his sister and his devotion and respect for her are staggering. In other words, it's not like Yosuga No Sora or some other borderline hentai animes where the attraction was mostly sexual. Yori is a real man with rules and a clear sense of right and wrong. The sound is very appropriate for this kind of anime and my favourite - classical music. The opening with the violin theme simply took my heart. To say that I was overjoyed would be a tremendous understatement. Likewise the art is good and for an OVA, very well drawn. I don't really have any complaints in any department. Story, art, sound, characters etc. they were all very very good and I enjoyed this anime to such an extent that it will be going into my favourite anime list, which is in my forum signature. I really wanted to give this anime a rating of 10 straight away BUT a single 49 minute episode was not enough to make this as dramatical as it should have been. It somehow feels rushed and that prevented me from giving it the highest score possible. That said, I still consider 'Boku wa Imouto ni Koi wo Suru' to be nothing short of a masterpiece and I recommend this to everyone. Give yourself a treat and watch this anime. It'll stay with you forever.
I don't care what you have to say about this movie and how it's immoral to be quite honest. The first time that I watched this was the Live Action version when I was still very much a Christian and either way I found it to be one of the most beautiful movies I've ever seen. The story isn't something of gross sexual perversion, but rather a boy who really did fall in love with his sister, she was his perfect woman, and just so happened to be his fraternal twin. I'm not very good at writing reviews or anything, but all I have to sayis that you should try it before you push it away because of the taboo subject material. And afterall, incest is wincest. :P
You might imagine that an anime dealing sympathetically with incest would be quite original, deeply psychological, an enthralling drama...this series isn't any of those things. It is a shallow, pandering heap of rubbish. The unhappy couple are a moody, selfish, unsympathetic wretch and a revoltingly twee, thoughtless moeblob. Cynically presenting these character qualities as a double sexual fantasy really gets up my nose. Sexual fantasy characters need not lack genuine good qualities, but a pair constructed without a single one are particularly irritating. Their incestuous passion is never explained and barely analysed, giving the story the depth of a puddle and reducing the characters toparts in a sexual machine. The plot and especially the dialogue barely ever rise above cliche and the animation is entirely unoriginal.
Beautiful storyline, beautiful art, beautiful love... This whole anime was just perfect! I'm really big into the whole taboo plot whether it be incest, yaoi, yuri, or teacher-student relationships... it all works and this was my favorite incest story because Angel Sanctuary didn't really satisfy my incest fetish, Koi Kaze was close... but this was totally skyrocketed! If you enjoy this anime then you should DEFINITELY check out the manga because I read the manga before the anime and it's still being released with new chapters so it goes WAY beyond the anime.
It tries a lot to be a serious story, which is likely the main appeal for most people who seek this out as a romance, but it often feels like a cringe fever dream. The characters are really generic, not only they have no depth, but they're morally questionable (and I'm not talking about the incest) and change their attitude wildly as the plot needs it; this in turn makes some scenes comical due to how contradictory their actions can be. Ironically, their parents are more likable than themselves. The dialogue can be pretty dramatic and cheesy, it is on par with what you'd expect froma parodied Shakespeare tragedy in the background of a movie scene. The art and sound are pretty neat, however.
This is one of those shows you have to the manga first then watch the ova second. I watched the ova and i got lost so quickly. The whole thing is about an older brother falling in love with his sister. To others this was gross but to me it was sweet yet ironic. The story is well devolped but if you want to understand the plot more i reccommond you read the manga first. after i did this i found the story more intresting, because now i could fully understand why yori loved iku and the background behind it all. Also if you hate brother/sisterlove, you better not watch this.
Oh my what can I say about this. Just normal relationship with Yori and Iku even though they are siblings. The story is so cliched and boring and I feel that it is not right to have sex before marriage and it is even worse when it comes to siblings. Siblings should not have sex or get married. The art is very dull. Now, moving on to the characters. Iku is really the most annoying person I came across in this anime. Her voice is so annoying which almost destroyed my ears. She is whiny and a crybaby. I just can't believe Mai Nakahara did annoyingvoices like Nagisa from Clannad, Rena from Higurashi even this character. There is nothing special about Yori, he is just bland. Well there's not much to say here. I really cannot stand whiny and crybaby characters. Their voices are like chalkboard being scratched hard. I almost go deaf after hearing it. Not to mention they do not understand people at all. There is nothing memorable about the music. So I give this anime a 2/10.
How to describe Boku wa Imouto ni Koi wo Suru . . . This was purely a fan-service piece to say the least. Is it bad that I secretly enjoyed it? I didn't read the manga, if there is one; I simply stumbled upon this. Still, in regards to STRICTLY THIS FILM, the plot leaves little room for development and what is there is slightly underdeveloped. The characters go from one extreme to the other, and the relationships in this film are too heavily focused on the sexual aspect, not necessarily on the development and blossoming of love or otherwise. Nevertheless, I can't help butconfess -- while I was yelling blatantly at the characters as it played, commentating on the cliche antics and actions -- I was secretly rooting for them and enjoying the concept of such a taboo/incestuous relationship. Perhaps because it didn't give much opportunity for you to see them for what they are, siblings, and their sudden jump to teenagers in love/distress/hate/etc made it difficult to view it as an incest couple. To me they were just a couple with a block that really didn't seem to be taken as much of a barrier, or seriously at all. I suppose you could say "right on to them", but either way, it was a cute anime. I will have to read the manga now or light novels, whichever they may be if there are others. It has a lot of potential that perhaps the film just didn't quite capture properly.
Okay, before I start, I stopped mid-way between it. I couldn't watch it anymore, it just got weird and I couldn't lock my doors... so if someone walked in, that would of been the most embarrassing moment of my life. So, I watched about 20-30 minutes of it, and for what I've seen, It's uh... kinda weird. Boku wa Imouto ni Koi wo Suru follows the story of a teenage boy named Yori, about 18 years old who is in love with his younger twin sister. Sounds weird, right? But, it doesn't stop there. His relationship with Yuki was much better when they were children, butit has gone colder since he has grown up. Therefore, I don't know he decides he wants to make his sister feel better. Does, uh... inappropriate stuff with her. The animation is pretty standard. It was made in 2005, so I don't blame the animation. It's pretty decent for such an old OVA anime whatever it is, but, yeah other than that the animation's great. The music, I haven't heard much of it, but from what I've heard it sounds pretty good. Most of the music is emotional, since this guy is trying to have sex with his sister or something like that, he also makes out with his sister, I don't really get that, but, hey, it's an anime. But, all incest aside, the music is great. Haven't seen every character, but they seem fine. Yuki is a girl who is aside the incest thing at the start, but then she just gets into it for some reason. Yori is another guy who also has very inappropriate feelings for his sister and kind of admits his feelings. The characters are very developed, I think, but I've only watched 30 minutes, I dropped it at that point. I was actually quite enjoying this anime, or OVA at the start, the story was quite developed and everything seemed fine. But, when Yori decided he wanted to have sex with his sister, I was like, "NOPE. FUCK THAT SHIT, SOMEONE MIGHT WALK IN." But other than that, I would of watched the rest of it, but... as I stated above I cannot lock my doors. And live with my family. Because, I'm not old enough to move out yet, and I'm still in school. This I'm giving a 6 overall rating, above average considering the story was quite interesting at the start, but I had to drop the anime when Yori decided he wanted to have sex with Yuki. Just... can't deal with that in a house full of 14 people.
